  Malia knew that it was only a matter of time before she got in trouble because of her anonymous publications as Captain Pearl. She just didn't expect it to be so soon, and she hadn't taken into account her parents' reactions when they found out.
  Despite their shock, they had done their best to save her, but the British government had decreed that she was to be punished. Rather execution, it was decreed that she was to be sentenced indefinitely as an indentured servant over seas. She still managed to smuggle some of her writing supplies on board and hide them under the floorboards.
