First an Angel, Then a Soldier
Y/n wasn't just the daughter of a captain of the Survey Corps. She was born with angel wings and had lots of powers including telekinesis, super strength, magic, and shapeshift into anything or anyone. Y/n father told her that she must be a guardian angel who has to find out who she is supposed to protect. She entered the Scouts but she decided to keep her powers a secret, hiding her wings with her magic and stayed the way she looked like if she didn't have any powers at all. She didn't want to be kicked out just because she was an over-powered being that didn't belong.
She only entered because her father's final wish from her before he died in battle was for her to be a hero. So because she loves her father with all her heart, she will do anything in her power to make his final wish come true.
Y/n's POV:
I sat on the chair in the main office, waiting for someone to call me in. I didn't know what they were going to ask me or who was interviewing me. I never meet the man but my father knew him very well and would talk about him. All I knew was his name. Captain Levi Ackerman.
What if he doesn't let me in?
What if I expose my powers in front of him?
I nervously tapped my heeled boots onto the tile floor as if I was next in line for a dentist appointment. The clicking sound of my heels tapping the floor was echoing in the room and I just sat there staring at the front door.
What if I fail?
What if I fail my father?
What if I don't fulfill my father's wish?
What if I wasn't good enough without my powers?
What if I don't fit in?
Should I only use my super strength or my mortal strength?
As my nervous thoughts were swirling in my head, the front door swung opened and in came a man who I guess had to be the captain my father wanted me to meet.
Levi's POV:
As I grabbed the paperwork and folders from my box, I sighed. I knew what those folders were for. Recruits were coming in and it's my turn to deal with it. I walked to the office building and opened the door to see a young woman sitting in the chair that was right next to my office door.
She was about my age and just by looking at her, she seemed to be the same height as me as well. She wore a grey tanktop with a pale blue jacket to cover her shoulders and blue jeans that were slightly covered with her brown knee height heeled boots.
She was a beautiful girl, probably the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life, except for my mother of course, but she was truly lovely. For some strange reason, she looked very familiar, as if I have seen her before but I was sure that never met her.
Ugh! Nevermind that, Levi! She's just a girl and that's it.
I walked up to her and she stood up with her hands behind her back.
"I'm guessing you are one of the new recruits," I said. She just nodded shyly and innocent like. I could easily see that she was nervous.
"Follow me, please." I softly commanded then started walking towards the door which had words painted white on the window of the door that said "Levi Ackerman, Scouts Captain" and opened it. I gestured to come inside in a gentleman-like way. She stepped into the room and sat down on the chair in front of my desk. I took off my jacket, hung it up on my coat rack that was near the door of my office, and put the folders and papers onto my clean and organized desk.
"Coffee? Tea?" I asked while walking to my cupboard.
"Um, no thank you. I'm fine." She said sitting very still in her seat. I could notice that she was really tense and I sighed, "You can relax. I'm not gonna harm you or anything unless you disrespect me or try to kill me." She sighed with relief and leaned herself onto the chair.
"Thank you, sir. My back was kinda killing me." She replied and I smirked but I hid it then just walked to my seat and sat down.
"Uh, before we start, sir, are you Captain Levi Ackerman by any chance? My father assigned me to be part of your specific team."
"Didn't you read what said on the door? If so, you think I would just enter into a random captain's office and have a meeting in there without the captain's permission?"
"Yes I read it and no, I didn't think you would, sir. I was just making sure." She said then looked at the small pile of folders on the desk.
"Good. It's good to ask questions, but being smart is always the top option. Alright, name." I said looking through the pile of files.
"Y/n L/N." She said. My heart skipped a beat and I stopped dead from what I was doing.
L/n?
Is this Captain L/n's daughter.
The one I promised him to protect.
I never really got acquainted with her face to face, but I would see her walking around to a store or to her own home from a day of just walking around the town. She was also there when her father passed away at his deathbed. No wonder she was so familiar.
"Umm. Captain? Are you alright?" She asked as she sat up and tilted her head to look at me.
"I'm fine. W-what was your father's name?" I asked as I recollected myself but was still shocked by the thought of her being the girl I was taking care of for her father's sake.
"My father was Captain Y/F/N L/n, sir," She replied and I was blown away inside but I hid my surprise from her.
"Your father told me you would be here before your father passed away," I said while finally finding the folder with her name on it.
Why didn't I see that earlier? Next time, check what's on your desk before a meeting, Ackerman. Ha, that's what her father told me long ago. I'll have to keep that in mind.
"You know my father?" She asked so I told her that I was there on the day of his death and how close we were. Her beautiful eyes sparkled as I mentioned all the battles we did together and how he would take care of me when I had nobody.
"I guess that's why my father said he had to take care of something every day before he would regularly come home." She said smiling and a bit of pink came to her cheeks as she stared at the floor.
"I promised your father that you could enter when you wanted to," I said and opened the side drawer that had a Scout jacket her father saved for her and held it up.
"Welcome to the team, Sargent L/n," I said still holding up the jacket in front of her. Her face light up and her soft gasp were adorable as if I gave her a sleeping puppy for Christmas. She hesitated for a moment but slowly grabbed the perfectly folded jacket and her eyes sparkled with pure happiness and victory.
"Thank you, Captain Ackerman. I won't let you down or disappoint you. Neither of you." She whispered the last sentence while gripping onto her blue and silver pendant around her neck with a soft smile.
We stood up and I shook her soft hand.
"You're excused, Sargent," I said and she thanked me then walked out of the office. She is going to be interesting.
Y/n's POV (again):
As I walked out of the office building, I walked home and changed into the uniform which fitted perfectly. It looked a lot like Captain Levi's but of course, made more for girls.
I did it for you, father, and I won't disappoint you.
And that's when my hero journey began.
