~Enchanted~
We made it up through the many winding tunnels to the mirror that lead into the Prima Donna's room. I shivered.
"You need something else to wear, or you'll catch your death of cold." Nadir spoke quickly and went to look in the wardrobe. I noted how he had changed into a dry maroon dress shirt and some black trousers.
"I'm going ahead to scope out the theater and find our guest..." Erik said with a dark edge in his voice.
"Erik..." He turned at the sound of my voice. "Don't do anything you'll regret...Please." I spoke softly, with a pointed look at the red cord in his hand.
He nodded tightly, not meeting my eyes, and exited the room.
"Here." Nadir said holding out a long, Spanish looking, gown.
"Seriously?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"The moths have gotten to everything but this dress. I'm sorry Miss but It'll have to do." Nadir placated.
As it was the light brown skirt had a few holes at the hem and it smelled heavily of mothballs.
"I'll be right outside if you need any help..."
"I think I can manage." I clipped.
"OH! I didn't mean..." Nadir turned beet red.
"It's fine Nadir I'll join you in a minute." I smirked.
Nadir nodded and quickly left the room.
I dusted off the black corset as best I could with my hand, and quickly changed.
I adjusted the white lace at the top of the corset.
"I don't think I've ever worn something this revealing..." I told my reflection in the mirror,
"But now's not the time to complain!" I reminded myself as I headed to the door.
"Woah..." Nadir's jaw dropped.
I rolled my eyes.
"Come on Nadir, Let's find Erik." I smiled awkwardly.
"Okay." Nadir stated dumbly.
I sighed as Nadir took my hand and lead me quietly towards the theater.
We crept silently down the long corridor towards box five.
I pulled on Nadir's hand and he stopped as we both listened on the other side of the curtain.
The doors of the theater were open and we could hear somebody quietly singing in the main foyer.
It was a very familiar voice and could be heard faintly through the curtain.
"When there's something strange in the neighborhood who you gunna call ghostbusters."
"Is that?"
"What?"
"That's my friend!" I exclaimed.
"When there's somethin' weird and it don't look good, who you gunna call... Ghostbusters..."
"Where's Erik?!" Nadir Exclaimed ripping back the curtains.
"there!" I exclaimed.
"Erik!"
"He can't hear us! Where's the closest stairwell?!
"dun dada da da da I ain't afraid of no ghost."
"You should be." Erik chimed in.
"Who...who's there?!" Cindy asked, the panic in her tone increasing.
"I could ask you the same thing. Now why are you in my opera house?!" Erik demanded, his voice like thunder.
"I'm just looking for my friend." Cindy replied, her voice hardening.
"And would your friend happen to be Alexandra Griffin?"
"Yes...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?!"
"Worry not... Your friend is safe. She is under my protection." Erik replied.
"Alex where are you?!"
"She is safe here in this opera house and she won't be leaving anytime soon."
"Oh Yeah?!" Cindy replied stepping into Erik's space.
"Yes." Erik replied, noose in hand.
"Erik NO!" I exclaimed, bursting into the room. Erik spun on his heel and his eyes widened when he saw me.
"Christine?!" Erik smiled, evidently confused.
* BZZZT *
The Phantom crumpled to the floor.
"Cindy! What did you do?!" I exclaimed.
"I tasered him! What the hell are you wearing... Nevermind Let's GO!" She exclaimed, grabbing my arm.
"NO!" I shouted.
"Alex we have to go now!" Cindy replied pulling on my arm.
"No I can't leave him!" I screeched.
"Yes you can!" Cindy replied, still reefing on my arm.
"No we can't leave here there are people after me!" I exclaimed.
"Yes and it appears you friend here may have shown them the way in..." Nadir commented, looking out the dirty window.
"We'll fall back to the lair. Help me with him will you Alex?"
"Of course." I replied, helping Erik off the floor.
"Who's your enchanting friend?" Nadir asked me as we hauled Erik off the steps.
"Cynthia." Cindy replied, a blush spreading up her neck.
"Come on guys! You can flirt later! Bad guys breaking in remember?!" I replied gesturing to the door.
"Right." Nadir nodded.
Cindy stood motionless on the stairs.
"Come on Cindy!" I huffed.
"Okay!" She replied jogging up the stairs.
