Erik looked at his face in the mirror as he nervously washed his hands.

He didn't think he'd ever grow used to his new face. The only thing that had stayed the same were his golden eyes, but even at that they seemed to glow more than they used to.

There was a knock on the door.

"Erik?" Alex's voice called. "Come on sweetheart you have to come out sometime..."

Erik took a moment to put his mask on and opened the door.

Alex frowned as she saw his covered face.

"Come on, Erik!" She exclaimed. 

"I don't want to frighten you." He replied softly. 

"Well I wont make you do anything you're not comfortable with, but anyways supper's ready..." She shrugged, "...And we have gifts~"

"You didn't have to get me anything!" Erik exclaimed s they made their way down the stairs.

"Well I mean you did save my life..." Alex replied nudging him with her elbow. 

"It was technically Nadir." Erik shot back.

Alex giggled, and the knots eased in Erik's stomach. 

"Well I've already thanked him!" She sighed. 

She grabbed his hand and dragged him to the dining room.

"Hello Erik." Alex's father smiled.

"Bonjour, Monsieur Griffin." Erik replied formally. 

"Please after all you've done for my daughter you can call me Henry." The man smiled gently. 

"Henry then." Erik smiled.

They took a seat at the table beside Alex, and Henry carved the Roast beef.

They had a verifiable feast.

Mashed potatoes and the previously mentioned Roast Beef, cooked carrots, Yorkshire pudding. And for pudding, a cake.

After dinner everyone moved to the living room and started doling out the gifts.

Cindy got Erik a cat bed that looked like a coffin, Henry got Erik a knife. Nadir got Erik a book he had been looking for, and Alex got Erik a timepiece with a photo of her inside.

After all the gifts were unwrapped. There was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" Alex smiled, gently setting aside the lovely Persian perfume Erik had bought her.

Alex hopped up and walked over to the door, freezing as she looked through the peep hole.

"What is it Alex?" Erik asked worriedly.

"It's Jason!" Alex gasped.

"Your Ex?" Henry exclaimed. 

Alex nodded, backing away from the door.

Erik stood and walked over to the door, opening it and peering down at the shorter man.

"Um, Hullo. Is Alex home?" He nervously clutched a bouquet in his hands. 

"You will leave here and never return." Erik growled. 

"I beg your pardon?!" Jason squirmed. 

"You will not fear for Alex, the Angel of music has taken her under his wing." Erik replied in his most menacing tone. 

The nervous man seemed to gain an ounce of courage. "Now just a minute! You listen here buddy!"

Erik made a glowering eye contact with him and slowly took off his mask.

The bouquet of roses hit the floor, as Jason's mouth opened in a silent scream.

"Si tu reviens ici,tu trouveras un destin pire que la mort~" Erik's voice sent ice into Jason's veins. 

The man scrambled down the hallway as Alex joined Erik at the door.

She went up on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek.

"You missed Mademoiselle." Erik purred.

"Pardon?" She blushed.

Erik pointed to the mistletoe above them.

Alex turned crimson, then moved to press a chaste kiss to his lips.

Cindy whooped.

Alex glared at her, and as Erik blushed the other men chuckled.

Henry stood. "Thank you all for inviting me tonight, but I think I should make sure Jason doesn't call the cops or anything..."

"Good idea dad." Alex giggled.

"I think I'll insinuate he's seeing things." He smiles evilly.

"Dad!" Alex smirks.

"Goodbye Henry." Erik smiles shaking his hand.

"Goodbye Erik." Henry smiled. 

He kissed Alex's cheek and bid her goodnight.

"Merry Christmas everyone!"

"Merry Christmas!"

Alex shut the door behind her dad and sighed. 

Cindy and Nadir cozied up on the couch and Alex looked over at Erik, who had replaced his mask.

"Come with me!" She stage whispered. 

"What why?" He asked.

"Every year there is fireworks in a nearby park. We'll see them better from the roof." Alex took his hand and led the way.

Erik fiddled with something in his pocket.

"I love it up here." Alex said quietly, as they exited the roof door. 

Erik stood by the door and relished in the companionable silence.

"You know Jason's an idiot to have shown up tonight." He thought out loud. 

"Jason's an idiot period." Alex scoffed. 

It was quiet again.

"You know the worst part isn't that Gabby back-stabbed me. I kinda expected that of her... and I knew she had her sights on him..."

Erik listened by the door, as Alex paced the length of the roof. 

"...The worst part is that he went to her. He went to her and left me with nothing but a broken heart and his empty promises!" Alex screamed.

Erik crossed the roof in three long strides and before she could react, he gathered her into his arms holding her as she cried.

"I just thought... I had hoped he was the one... I went through a period of time when I wondered if I was unlovable... and then I met you." Alex sniffled. 

"No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears,
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
My words will warm and calm you.

Let me be your freedom,
Let daylight dry your tears,

To guard you and to guide you." Erik sang softly, stroking Alex's hair.

Alex pulled back to look into Erik's Golden eyes.

Erik smiles as she continues.

She reaches forward and gently takes off his mask.

"Let me be your shelter,

She trailed her fingers down his cheek.

Erik closed his eyes with a sigh and sang.

"All I want is freedom
A world with no more night

To hold me and to hide me"

Alex replied.

Erik, that's all I ask of you."

Erik's eyes popped open in wonder, as he pulled the engagement ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee.

Say the word and I will follow you!

Share each day with me
Each night, each morning.

Say you love me!"
Alex smiles.
"You know I do~"

"Love me, that's all I ask of you" They sing together.

Erik dips her into a kiss. 

The fireworks whistle and explode a bright red and green silhouetting their kiss. 

Alex smiles as Erik helps her stand upright.

"We should go, they'll wonder where we are!" She blushes, dragging him towards the door.

"Alex I love you!"

Alex stopped, spun around and claimed his lips in another kiss. 

And I'm told, 

They lived happily ever after~
