Colors on the Canvas
-It's salty. Why is that? - Scara wiped the salty water from her face. Then took her hand out of the pond. As soon as she took her hand out, the colors returned.
-I don't understand. Who is Reon? What does she has to do with me? I don't understand. But I want to!- The salty tears dripped from her eyes. She returned to the house just as agitated as she left it a few days ago.
-I'm back.- she whispered not expecting an answer. He didn't answer. Not because he was painting but because he died. The blood has long dried since then. The girl only returned for the painting. She held the canvas' two sides and gently lifted it off the painting stand. The room fell silent when Scara left. The pond was still stained with the colors. She felt something..Familiar.
-Why does this feel familiar? - she looked down at the painting. The painting had the same imaginary woman on it. It was pretty but destroyed, stabbed and scratched. The woman on the painting looked exactly like her. The colors and visions on water surface. They were Reon's feelings and memories. Reon's first form the Black and white. Reon's love, the vivid pink. Reon's passion and love, the vibrant yellow. Reon's misery and sadness, the faded blue. Scara just recalled everything as she hugged the Canvas close. Those were her colors. She was Reon. Why did she have to realize in such a painful way? But most importantly... Why did Scara forget? Then she saw a vision on the water surface once again. It was the boy stabbing his painting in frustration. It was the fifth, no seventh in a row. The true form of Reon was killed and forgotten.
-So that is why I forgot. The more he restarted the less remained from me. He wanted to bring me into life. But I was just colors on a Canvas. He wanted to bring me to life building a puppet body. It didn't come to life so he started making himself believe it did. Eventually I came to life as a spirit of some sort. The more distorted the painting is, the more he restarted, the more I forgot. He wasn't satisfied that I was only colors.- Scara stood up with painting in her hand. Now she understood everything. But as we grow up.. Our childhood fantasies fade away. Even after we spent so much time with them. With nothing keeping her alive, Reon also had to go.
