The days went by and it was now the day of the ball.

The long awaited day was here.

I had my new dress on and awaited my date, Taishiro who said he was accompanying me.

I stood in the corner seeing each person who arrived.

Emi came in her own and came to greet me.

Later Taishiro came and we kept together during that time.

I looked around for a certain person, wondering where he was. Then I spotted him.

On the balcony stood the beautiful, mysterious man.

He seemed to be watching something.... It someone with great interest.

I looked him directly in the eye and he quickly turned away. I thought it was strange and slightly awkward but I brushed it off and continued talking to Taishiro.

After a while the dancing began and everyone made their way to the dance floor.

I, however, stayed where I was. 

Someone walked over to me and gave me a drink. I looked up and unsurprisingly, met eyes with Shinya.

 "Hello, Ryuko." He said, smiling brightly .

 "Hello, Shinya." I said in a grumpy tone as I took the drink from him and started sipping it. It tastes terrible , but I didn't say anything.

 "Are you enjoying yourself so far?"

 " Nope. "

 "Me either."

 We stood in silence for a little while. 

Another song came on and Shinya started humming to it. 

I just stood an watched the people dance as I sipped my disgusting drink.

I looked around to see where Taishiro went and he seemed to be conversing with Emi, so I left them be.

 "Wanna talk about something?" Shinya asked suddenly.

 "Actually, I do. I need you to.... Tell.... Tell me....some...." I started to feel slightly dizzy.

 I couldn't stand up straight and the room was spinning. What happened? Was it something in the drink? Did someone put something in the drink?

I looked at Shinya who stared at me with a straight face.

 "I'm sorry, Ryuko, my dear."

 Everything went black. And I drifted into unconsciousness.
