Mrs. Holmes

Introduction part 1
Episode 1
Part 1

"Take wing and gather, as the festival of stars is nigh."

"You're amazing. You know that?"

"Scout! Please?! Where are you?!"

"Just the rookie we've been hoping for."

"Keith."

"Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't know that."

"I'm fine, just let me help you."

"Heh, fine what ever you say, Jean."

Looking through some new cases, I sigh and lock my fingers, placing my hands behind my head. I leaned back in my black desk chair, stretching my back from sitting still for hours. My blue eyes hidden from the world behind my eyelids, I sigh deeply. My eyes feel heavy and my body tired. My brain however, is running five miles per second.

Suddenly, a loud obnoxious ring cuts through my silent apartment. I groan loudly, not wanting to move, a massive headache grows in my head as the phone keeps screaming. I pick it up, deciding to finally answer. With a tired voice, I speak. "This is Jean Finch, how can I help you?"

"What's up Mrs. Holmes?" A old voice came through the phone. I sigh, knowing exactly who was talking. An old friend. I guess.

"What do you want Boris? Im working." My tired blue eyes filled with exhaustion, even though he couldn't see it, he could easily hear it. I could hear the slight squeak of a leather jacket as the material rubs against itself, meaning he's moving around.

"Scout, I put you on speaker, I think, uh hold on. Lily, can you help me?" The sounds of light footsteps come closer to the phone while louder, heavier footsteps started and stayed the same volume.

"What do you need?" A light, cheer-filled voice comes through the phone and into my gage pierced ears. Placing my phone on my desk, I grab the files in front of me and head to the large, metal cabinet across the room. Opening the second and fourth drawer, I start to place the files inside. "Scout?"

"Yeah?"

"I need you to come to Japan. (?)"

My ocean eyes widen, my jaw dropped to the floor and my body froze. "What!?"

"We need your help with a case." My body relaxes. Walking back to my seat in front of my cherry red wood desk. I plot my hand against the other and place them under my chin, thinking.

"Why didn't you just say that. Then I might be able to." I start to mutter to myself, thinking about what my boss would say. Knowing that I would help people in some way, shape or form, I agreed to go.

"How long will I be there?" I questioned, wanting to know how much clothes to pack and what to tell my boss.

"Maybe three weeks or so." The female voice answered. Hearing the old man nod, agreeing to that time span.

"Alrighty then. I'll book a flight for tomorrow and will see you soon." I hang up on my new team mates in Japan. Searching for a big enough suitcase, possibly two.

Once I was done packing, leaving out clothes for tomorrow and some electronics and cords, I grab my laptop and phone. I dialed my boss and set the phone down. I typed away on the mini computer, searching for the earliest flight to Japan. Once I heard a tired 'hello?' come through the phone, I started talking, fast.

"Hey sir it's Finch. Hey so I just got off the phone with some old friends from the police force in Japan. They want me to go over and help with a case of there's. It should take almost a month and I already booked a flight and agreed to the offer so I'm just telling you incase you wonder where I am tomorrow. Welp, good night!"

I hang up on the man before he even objects or says anything really. He tries calling back but I declined, wanting him to get rest, since it was four in the morning. Looking at what time the plane leaves, I take a quick shower and put on the clothes I left out earlier and packed up the cords, my chargers, and my laptop. I call a taxi and head out the apartment door, locking it, and heading down to the elevator, the duffel bag sitting at the top of the large suitcase. I head out the front door of the apartment building to see the taxi I ordered. The driver comes out of the car, taking the luggage and placing them in the trunk. I take a seat in the back, my head falling back, my heavy eyes closing as the front door closes, engine starting.

"Miss?" A voice interrupts the silent black void called sleep. I open my eyes, bright lights burning them as I realize I'm now at the airport. I look at the driver, nodding a thank you. I get up and out of the car, seeing my bags on the side walk, waiting to be carried/rolled around. I take fifty bucks out of my jacket pocket and handed it to the driver, flashing a small smile. He nods taking the money and starts to drive off. I turn towards the large building, chest filling with excitement and nervousness. I was off on a new adventure. I can't wait.
