Preview: Fae (Camren)
Yes, a lot of my previews and therefore a lot of my planned stories are Camren.
Yes, none of my actually published (and upheld) stories are Camren.
Cut me some slack 😂

"I love you." She whispers into the off-white landline, running a hand through her almost-black hair. Her roots have started coming back, leaving her with an odd gradient from dark to darker. Nothing but music and a small rustle act as a reply, spiking her nerves. "Did you hear me? I said I love you."
All of a sudden, a droning tone interrupts any evidence of life on the other end of the line. A sudden anger to surges through Lauren and she throws the phone against the wall, causing it to hang from its wire. A sob escapes her body as she holds her head in her hands, cursing herself for ever allowing herself to be so vulnerable. She knew nothing good would come from it. She's already learned that lesson, why would she make the same mistake?
"Are you okay, Lauren?" She hears, looking up to see her younger sister frowning at her from the fridge which she is holding half open.
"Yeah." Lauren nods, taking a deep breath and wiping her tears away. She awkwardly places the telephone back in its place on the wall before turning back to Taylor and offering a weak smile.
The younger girl, suddenly seemed to realise what had happened, sighs sympathetically and abandons her search for food, instead moving over to her older sister and engulfing her in a hug.
"You didn't need her anyway." She half-jests, making Lauren chuckle.
"Thanks, Tay." The eldest Jauregui daughter grins, squeezing her sister tightly before letting go.
"No problem." The girl smiles back, "You coming to watch a movie? Mom made Arroz con leche."
"No, I think I'm just going to go to bed." Lauren denies, yawning as if on cue.
Taylor chuckles, nodding in understanding.
"Alright. See you tomorrow, Laur."
With that, Lauren retreats to her room, closing the door behind her and taking a deep breath. All will be well when she wakes up, she tells herself. All will be well.
Except it isn't. It never is once someone says that.
When Lauren awakes, it is not in her bed. When Lauren awakes, it is not even in her house.
When Lauren awakes, it's on the floor in the middle of a forest, alone and with no recollection of how she got there. Well, she thought she was alone.
