Hello all!

Firstly, yes I'm restarting All of Me (Camren). I'm working on the new version but I want it to be really good so it might be a while before anything new is published.

Speaking of Camren fanfics, with this not so graceful transition I want to introduce a new book I'm working on. Hopefully it won't turn out like the others I tell you about and be cursed to never be finished or published 😬

Meet, Honey

Lauren sighs, runs a hand through her black hair, and tears apart a hay bale, tossing it around the floor. If that girl is going to become a regular on the farm, she's going to have to learn not to run off like that and especially not to go into Cass' stable. Her mom was right; she is protective of Cass, but not without reason. He could've gotten hurt, or he could have hurt the girl, and then Lauren would be the one to blame. As she tucks the remaining hay into a net hanging from the wall, a familiar face comes into view.

"Hey," The boy greets, rubbing the back of his neck as he lingers at the end of the metal ramp, "Mom's pissed."

Lauren scoffs. "I didn't do anything. Some idiot went into Cass' stable."

"You know better than to insult the therapy kids, Laur." He sighs, hopping up and aiding his sister in preparing the trailer, "And I'm sure she didn't know what she was doing."

"When did you and Taylor get back from town?" She questions, deciding a change of topic is much needed.

"An hour or so ago." The boy replies, "But seriously, Lauren. You shouldn't have snapped like-"

"I didn't do anything, Chris!" She stops to look up at the brown-haired boy incredulously, "All I did was tell them they weren't meant to be in there."

"Then what's up with her hand?" He frowns, "Mom said you-"

"I was closing the gate and she shoved it in the way. I didn't even realise." She retorts, hopping down from the vehicle and heading back towards the barn. Chris hurries after her, quickly catching up and letting his hand land on her shoulder, successfully stopping her in her tracks. She turns and scowls up at him.

Despite being a year younger, Chris is already taller than the rest of the Jauregui family. Their mother, Clara, is always pointing out that it makes her 'Mom-glare' less effective. He's also already sporting a chin dusted with short bristles of hair that are beginning to run along his jawline, which means he is often mistaken for the eldest sibling.

"I didn't mean to make you mad." He apologises, "She just wanted me to come talk to you. Said we're gonna have to get familiar with Camila. If the whole AAT thing works for her, she's going to be around for a while."

"Perfect." Lauren sighs, but when her brother refuses to let her go back into the barn, she rolls her eyes and promises to turn it down a notch. As they head inside to collect the injured animal, she sees the tail end of the trio leaving through the other door. Camila catches her gaze and, despite being pulled along by the hand, manages to smile and wave with her free one before disappearing around the doorframe.

"Looks like she likes you." Chris teases, laughing and dodging out of his sister's way before she can land a slap on his arm.

So... what do you think? I'm eager for your opinions. It's been tough to keep this a secret — as I had originally planned for it to be until it was finished. I'm not going to be publishing this book until it is done, so it'll be a while but it'll hopefully be my best work, which you guys deserve.

With that said, I'm going to need your help getting me there. What are some of your favourite things you've seen in Camren fanfics where one of the characters is more childlike than the other (i.e. Camila in the Yellow series, Lauren in a story I can't remember the name of, etc.). I don't want to copy them, but if there are certain concepts or scenes that hit you hard or you really enjoyed, I'd like to take inspiration from them.
