"Hello?"
"Hi, this is McDonalds, can I take your order?"
"Um, can I get 20 piece nuggets and large fries, to go?"
At hearing her going along with his antics, Quackity giggled enthusiastically, a wide smile spread on his lips as the words escaped her lips. Nat also smiled, not wanting to admit that yes, she was waiting for his phone call.
The two, over the past week, ever since they finally spoke to each other, have been talking more and more. They usually spoke around 5 PM 'till 8 or 9 PM. They were each other's whispered goodnights and the only person invading their minds.
Quackity and Nat had a good friendship. Both of them noticed that. They could easily tell by the way they spoke to each other with so much comfortableness and so much happiness, the two eager and excited for their phone to ring with that specific ring tone they put for each other.
"Hi, Nat."
Nat could simply smile even wider, her cheeks burning. She cleared her throat.
"Hi, Alex," she breathed out as if she hadn't spoken the entire day, saving her words and breath for him.
"What are you doing?" Quackity asked and she looked at the TV in front of her playing a Disney movie. She hadn't even noticed, having been too focused on her thoughts to notice the characters singing in the background.
"I'm watching The Princess and the Frog," she answered.
"You're on your Angelica arc," Quackity snorted. "Swear, that girl loves that movie more than she loves Dream, and I don't blame her. The movie is great."
"It is but it sucks that Tiana had to turn into a fucking frog and be a frog majority of the movie," Nat shook her head, glaring at the VooDoo man who she despised with her entire being. "Anyway, what are you doing?"
"Well, you see," he started, "I'm talking to a pretty gi—I'm sorry, I can't do that. Fucking Dream told me what to tell you but, let's be honest, he's a freak who calls Ang that."
The two laughed a little at their friends actions.
"What are you seriously doing then?"
"I just finished recording a video for George," Quackity answered. "I'm preparing for the lore stream tomorrow so, I'm excited to see you there, watching me."
"You get 100 thousand viewers and you're more into the fact that I'm going to be watching?" Quackity happily hummed and Nat smiled. "I still can't process those words."
"What?" She heard him ask. "You can't process the fact that I'm more into you being there than the hundreds of thousands of people being there? Well, yeah. If I lost my viewers, you'll be the most important one."
Nat smiled and shook her head, watching the characters dancing on the screen. She looked up at the ceiling, trying her hardest to get her heart that was rapidly beating against her chest to calm down.
"You're a simp," she playfully teased and he chuckled.
"I know," he said, a smile matching the exact same one she had on her face.
Two people, separated by a phone, lovestruck with one another and having no idea that they already fell hard for each other.
"Oh, I was talking with Ang and Diana, and," Nat let out an exhale. "Their jobs are so hard. I heard Ang mentioning the constant panic of being a faceless streamer, especially a girl, and Diana was telling me how terrifying and annoying it was to have stalkers... Being as famous as them is crazy. Have you experienced any of that?"
"People being obsessed with me?" Nat hummed. "Well, it's Twitter where that mostly happens but I don't think much of it. There was once where a person was recording me and when I looked at them, they would start to wave at me, crazily. It was horrifying."
"Oh, my God," Nat covered her mouth. "I bet... Well, if anything happens, give me a call and I'll go over to where you are and beat them up."
Quackity snorted. "Nat, you could barely hurt a fly, you wouldn't be able to punch a person. But, I'll be there for support and bring Ang... Wait, I'll bring Diana. She's specialized in some fighting techniques so it's good, and she's tall-tall."
"Isn't she like 5'11?" Nat's eyes widened as she remembered. Quackity hummed. "Oh, my God... She's scary, Alex. I'm like 5'5 or 5'6. Isn't Heaven and Ang tall, too?"
"Nah, Heaven is your height, Ang is 5'10, though," Quackity said before comforting her with a baby voice. "Aw, is wittle Nat scared?"
"Shush," Nat chuckled.
"Nah, I'm good," Quackity giggled out. "Nat and Diana could literally step on you."
"Good, Diana is so beautiful and Angelica is beautiful, too," Nat said. "God, my friends are models."
"Thanks, I didn't you'd notice I was," Quackity said, causing the girl to laugh at his words. "What? Are you now making fun of me, Nat? Wow... And to think I call you my super-duper bestie. I'm hurt, I'm gonna go cry now."
"Alex," Nat snickered. "Stop. Alright, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for laughing, you're actually the best model out there, strutting and dressing up with that beanie of yours. You're cool."
"Thanks," Quackity sassily hummed. "I guess you're cool, too."
"You guess?" Now it was Nat's turn to be dramatic. "Wow... Is this how you treat your friends? How you talk so lowly of them? I was complimenting you, calling you the best model out there, and yet, you say I guess? Wow, I'm gonna go the bathroom and Basel my eyes out."
"Stop, Nat," Quackity laughed. "Stop. Alright, alright, you're the second best model out there. After me, of course, but still, one of the best. You're the amazing, talented Nat, of course you're gonna be the best model."
"Alright, alright, that's enough," Nat giggled, a sound that made Quackity burst into giggles, too. That's what they had been doing the most in the call; laugh, and it was the best sound to hear. "That's enough compliments."
"Never. I have more."
"Shush."
