Dr Iwaizumi sat with his legs crossed, staring at the grey-scale floor of the hospital. Across from him were a sobbing mother, a puffy eyed sister who was clearly in her late twenties and a comforting father.

"Iwaizumi Hajime to see Oikawa Tooru?" A receptionist called and Iwaizumi stood and walked over to the nurse standing outside of Oikawa's door. "He's just had his medication, so please be gentle with him."

"Of course," Hajime bowed his head slowly, milk bread and a bouquet of lilies in his hands.

The nurse opened the door for him and he tiptoed inside the room. He spotted Oikawa lying on the bed, tiny tuffs of auburn hair spiking from his relatively bald skull. Tooru turned to face Hajime and his eyes lit up.

"Iwa-chan!" He exclaimed and Hajime ran towards Oikawa with a grin. "For me?" He pointed at the flowers while putting on a fake, girly, princess voice. Hajime just rolled his yes and places the flowers in the vase.

"There not for you, Shittykawa," Iwaizumi lied, his cheeks becoming red, "they're for the nurses to admire."

Oikawa roll3; his eyes, knowing about the hand holding incident and Iwaizumi's feelings and asked, "And the milk bread?"

Iwaizumi looked  at Oikawa's sparkling face from the corner of his left eye and chucked them at his bald face, "For you doofus."

"What's with the sudden abuse?" Oikawa wined and Iwaizumi jumped in the space beside him in his bed.

Iwaizumi smirked and looked deviously at Oikawa, "I was only nice so I could get free food from the canteen. Perks of being a visitor." He followed his sentence with a wink and turned away to reach for the remote for the TV.

"So mean," Oikawa mumbled and looked at the doctor's vibrant eyes and asked, "I heard the screams yesterday. Who was it?"

Iwaizumi's eyes widen a little and a frown appeared on his lips, "A little boy down the ward fell out of his bed while having a heart attack. He never made it . . . "

"I'm sorry, Iwa-chan," Oikawa hugged his friend in an attempt to comfort him. He knew how much every patient meant to Hajime here and how much it effected him when he wasn't able to save them. Iwaizumi hugged the patient back and whispered, "I had to sit across from his parents outside . . . I couldn't even look at them."

Oikawa just stroked Iwaizumi's back tenderly and spoke out, "It's all right, Hajime. He'll be safe now."

Hajime blinked a little and smirked before chuckling softly at the sound of Oikawa saying his name, "Thank you, Tooru."

Oikawa grinned in response and the two sat in peace watching another movie.

It was a few weeks later and Oikawa began thinking. I mean, he thinks all the time but usually about aliens and volleyball! However, he was now thinking deeply about Iwaizumi. He began to notice the subtle things about Iwaizumi. Like how Iwaizumi never did the top button on his shirts or how his eyes had two creases in the corners when he smiled. It was after three days of continuously thinking about the doctor that Oikawa came to the conclusion that he was in love with Iwaizumi!

Oikawa had started his therapy to begin to walk again and is was now able to stand on his two feet without support, but nothing more. He still smiled at the thought that maybe one day he'd be able to walk down the beach once again. A small knock alerted him and he saw Daichi walk in.

"Sawamura-kun?" Oikawa questioned, popping his head up from his pillow.

"The one and only," Daichi winked a little and took the visitor seat beside Oikawa's bed.

"What are you doing here?" Tooru asked, tilting his head like a puppy.

"Well, I was actually here with Suga for his surgery but I have to leave him now," Daichi sighed and crossed his legs, "I saw your name on the boards when I was walking back to my car and I decided to pay you a visit. I never knew about . . . this."

Oikawa frowned but eventually smiled, "I guess so. But hey! I'm recovering." Daichi gave a slightly sour face to the comment but quickly fixed his face, but not quick enough for Oikawa to see. Oh god, if only Tooru knew. "Whats the matter?"

"Nothing," Daichi smiled and stated, "I'm sorry I could only stay for a few minutes but visiting times are over. I'll see you later, Iwaizumi-san."

Daichi shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans and left the room when he bumps into a man in a white coat, "oh, my apologies."

Iwaizumi kept his head down and headed into Oikawa's room, pushing up his glasses. He leaned against the door frame and pointed in the direction Daichi left, before he asked, "who was that?"

Oikawa looked up innocently, "Daichi Sawamura, he was the captain of a team we used to play against."

"I see," Iwaizumi nodded and closed the door behind him to take a seat next to Oikawa.

"Hey Iwa-chan. . ." Oikawa paused and Hajime looked up with large, curious emerald eyes, "Sawamura-kun made a face when I said I was recovering . . . I'm not getting better, am I?"

Iwaizumi froze. He wasn't trained for this. He wasn't ready to tell the one he loved that he was slowly dying. Due to Hajime's hesitance, Oikawa's eyes began to fill up with moisture and Iwaizumi panicked. This wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to see that beautiful bright smile of Oikawa's and instead they were full of tears and grief. And it was his fault.

"I'm so sorry, Tooru," Hajime screamed out and grasped the patient in his arms, he slowly ran his hands up and down Oikawa's fragile arms.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Oikawa wiped his tears and stared up at Hajime with them.

"Because I didn't want to see the one I love cry."

And the two spent the evening on Oikawa's bed crying together.
