Part 9: Night 5
I arrive at work. Riley and Nate are outside waiting for me. None of us say anything. We are all nervous. This isn't even the finale. We approach the door to the building but stop.
"Nate?" Riley asks.
"Sorry..." he goes silent. "I just had a lot on my mind lately. This whole thing I'm just excited to get over with. At the same time, I'm not sure what I'm going to do afterwards. It's all I've ever planned. The fall of Freddy. It's like in superhero movies," he looks at me. "Ya know? Who is the hero without it's Villain. Who is Batman if he doesn't have joker? Who is Superman without Lex Luther? Who am I without Freddy?"
"You'll still be Nathan." I put my hand on his shoulder. "You'll always be remembered as the guy who took out Freddy Fazbear. Even if people dont believe the story of this place, you will forever be our hero."
"He's right," Riley agrees. A small strand of her now freshly red dyed hair falls between her eyes. What can I say, I've inspired her. She says I didn't because her hair has been red before already. "If the world doesn't know, we always will. Plus, after this, Mark and I will never let you go."
"Thanks guys. Let's go in." Nate leads us to the door.
Inside, just like the past four days, the phone begins to ring.
"Why is the phone ringing?" Nate asks.
"It's another one of your messages," I answer.
"But I never recorded a fifth message..."
We pick up the phone.
"What the fuck is that?" Riley asks.
It's not Nate's voice. It's not any human voice. It's a dark, ominous, very deep noise. It's not saying anything. It's just mumbling, making random noises. Then the call ends.
"Was...was that Freddy?" Nate asks.
"Whatever, we can't worry about that. We need to focus." I check the camera. "Foxy is already out!"
"I got it!" Nathan closes the left door.
Foxy does his bangs then returns. "What!" Riley begins to panic.
"Sh sh shhh, here you take the camera, I'll take the right door." I sit her in the chair in front of the monitor.
"No, Freddy goes to the right door. I'll take that one." Nate walks over.
"No Freddy goes to the left. I almost got caught by him my fist night," I say, matter of factly.
"That's when the power goes out. When he attacks he comes through the right."
"But-"
"Mark!" Riley interrupts. "Just let him go he knows what he's doing just stop arguing!" Then we're all silent.
I walk over to the left door and turn on the light. Bonnie. I shut the door. Both Nate and Riley look at me.
"Bonnie," I say pointing at the door. Riley turns her attention back to the camera, and Nate the right door.
This is awkward. I think to myself. I wonder if they think it's awkward too.
"Foxy's coming again."
"The door is still closed because of Bonnie so we're okay," I say. Sure enough that damn fox starts banging on the door. When he's done, he and Bonnie and both gone.
"So, this is a lot easier with more people," I say breaking the silence. "And a lot less scary."
They just nod their heads.
"And the silence continues," I narrate.
"What?" Nate asks.
"I was saying you guys are being really quiet ever sinc-"
"Not that," he cuts me off. "Look." He waves me over to him. I look to where he's pointing. Down the hall from us is a little boy. Crying. Then another little boy goes up to comfort him.
"Guys?" Riley says. "All the animatronics are back on stage."
"It's six." Nate answers, his eyes still glued to the two boys. "Hey!" He yells. "What are two doing here?"
They look up. "Dan, run," the boy comforting the other says.
"Okay, Phil." The boy whose name I overheard be Dan gets up. He starts running, but halfway down the hall he vanishes like he ceased to exist at all.
"You won't get away with this!" Phil yells.
"The fuck I won't!" Jacks figure appears to the side of us. It's like a ghost figure. Then, I see the knife in his hand.
"Do we stop him?" I ask Nate. Riley is looking out the side window on her tiptoes.
"No, it's some sort of hologram. The other guard should be here soon. Let's just go."
I turn around and jump. I was not expecting to see Dan under the desk. He looks slightly more solid. More of a ghost figure.
"Is this like a memory of some sort?" Riley asks.
Dan's eyes go wide as he cowers closer to the corner of the desk.
"Can he hear us?" Nate asks.
"I believe so. What are you doing?" I ask Dan.
He crawls out from under the desk. He faces us with his small chest popped out. "I need to be avenged, along with my friends. Phil, Patrick, Felix, Ryan, Matt, Matthias, and Brandon."
With that he left. "I thought you said there were only five kids?" I look to Nathan.
"There was. He got three more throughout time." He grabs his bags then heads out the door.
