"Get inside, he doesn't hate you." Amber reminded me yet again.

The door was closed and I could hear soccer commentary from inside. I was pretty sure Marc knew that I was outside because he could sense my breathing and hear Amber 's voice.

But the door remained closed.

"I am not sure he wants me in his house," I said, my words sounding more like an excuse.

Amber gave me look that said really.

"Laser , get your lame ass inside." Marc shouted from inside.

And those were all the words I needed to have confidence. I clicked the door open realising that it was not locked and walked inside.

"I should leave." Amber said softly.

"No, stay M. Your boyfriend might kill me in your absence." Marc said now walking towards us.

Amber chuckled lightly but stayed there nevertheless and I was glad that she stayed. If I couldn't convey what I felt, atleast she could do it for me.

"So you decided to finally kill me?" Marc asked.

"I can't kill my only best friend even if he is a total tool."

"You do know that my father is Eibhir." Marc was trying to make me hate him.

And now I completely understood what Amber said about not hating the person you love. It doesn't really matter to me that Marc was Eibhir's son , I cannot just hate him.

"You do know I am a half quantum." I countered his words.

"You do know my father killed your family." His eyes pleaded with me to hate him as if this will make him feel less guilty.

"You do know that none of it is your fault." I tried in a weird way to console him.

"You do know that you guys sound insanely stupid." Amber interrupted looking like she was holding back a smile.

Marc sighed and his eyes flickered here and there as if finding right words to say.

"So, it doesn't affect you that I am half quantum?" I confirmed.

"Dude, I loved you mom like my own and she was quantum. It doesn't bother me in the least whoever you are. You are and always have been, always will be my best friend with only exception being that you break Amber's heart."

His words made me smile. What was I thinking? He is already shifting to Amber's side.

"By the way, I told him I love him." Amber said teaming up with Marc.

I should have known, my best friend and girl friend will now give me a hard time for my stupid impulsive reaction.

"About time, how did he react?" Marc asked his narrowing at me.

"Nothing yet."

I kissed her back, didn't I? And although all my ice was melted, I was still worried about the whole love you deal. I was still scared that it was not enough. She doesn't know that I was asked to kill her.

"Don't bother. He will say something soon. Guy is dense with feelings." Marc informed Amber too seriously.

"Do you want to die Marc?"

"And I thought you said you can't hate me?" He was back to his old self again.

"Don't tempt me."

"Are we back to bromance now or you both have guilt and sacrificial feelings inside?" Amber asked giving us a dry look.

"We are good." I said looking for confirmation from Marc.

And if I expected him to say we are good back solemnly, I was wrong.

"Yeah. We are back to bromance. Can we kiss now?" He said giving me teasing grin.

"Marc, you are asking for punch?" I glared at him but like always it was useless as two most important people in my life started laughing at me.

I didn't say it loud maintaining my image and all but I was kind of really relieved to have my best friend back.

"There is a plan of attack. Two days from now, quantums will attack at heart of Hood residence . They know that your leadership is week." Talfryn informed.

Turned out the guy was not totally useless.

"We have to inform everyone." Marc said in a state of panic now.

"And who will believe us. I am pretty sure Eibhir informed everyone about us."

He sighed at my words and I felt sorry for him having to see Eibhir in this way.

"I can help." Amber offered.

She can, she had the power to make the Hoods and Quantums see reason. But this time we were not talking about few Quantums, there will be a huge army from both sides.

Amber was not ready yet.

"It is too dangerous." I said in a stern.

"And it was such a clichéd response Ian." She said frowning at me.

"He is right M, this time there will be armies from both side."

For the first time, Talfryn said something sensible.

"So what is our plan of action?" Marc was still pacing in panic.

"I can work from my side and try convincing them, I made a lot of friends you know." Talfryn offered.

"Marc and I can visit few nicer Hoods?" Amber asked looking at me for permission.

I had to do something or else innocent lives will be lost.

"Fine."

Since I am pretty much useless right now I agreed with whatever they had in mind.

"Not really." Terian entered Marc's place.

"There had been stealth attacks and nothing handles it better than a black panther." He said giving me a smile and a mission.

"Let's see if we can avoid this battle."

I put all the confidence in my words as we all separated our ways to complete out allotted tasks.

Stealth attacks are the attacks which enemies put into action at night on the least expected part of our residence area. Terian and I stood guard there and it was around two at night.

My phone lit up and I saw Amber's message. I was getting the hang of having a girlfriend because she messaged me constantly to see if I was alright.

"I have never seen you this distracted," Terian whispered.

"Because I never had a girlfriend before." My tone came out a little frustrated.

I noticed that Terian held in a laughter since unlike Marc he can't laugh out loud on my misery.

I texted Amber back.

I am fine and stop worrying. I should be doing that, not you.

She immediately answered back.

Bruke and Iramus's family are on our side . And it's my job to worry about you, I am your girlfriend.-A

I loved it, like a teenage boy when she said that she was my girlfriend. I never had a person who could make me smile so easily.

What's the next stop, worried girlfriend?-

We are going to someone's house named Kabir. We are here now, ttyl boyfriend.-A

I was kind of relieved with Marc around her and I knew Kabir, he was a good guy with two little kids and a sweet wife. And yet, like a romantic fool I I was turning into, I missed her.

"Someone is here." Terian broke my thoughts and I was alert immediately.

We were outside the house of a huge Hood family , none of them was a fighter and we suspected it will be the first place Quantums will attack because it was a family with five little boys, future warriors.

We got in a stance to jump and attack without alerting the inmates of the house.

I heard Terian low growl since he had the better view. But the growl was not of anger , it was of pain. And as soon as the attackers came into my view, I knew the reason behind the Terian's broken sound.

One of the three attackers was a girl, Terian's sister, Heather.

Aw...the bromance is back :)

I was really happy as I was writing this chapter.

Now few things...How is the story going this far. I want an honest opinion. Is this a good enough book?

The best and worst thing about the book, anything you can tell me.

And now....I didn't sleep last night because I was over dosed on caffiene and had a new book 'Trials of Apollo' to myself so I was awake and came up with an idea for a really short story. 

It will be up by midnight today....I really hope you guys will be super awesome as always and check it out. It will be a short story...wait I said that already XD
