Prologue

Riley

I've always been the normal school girl that is unnoticed to the world. I'm 16 and I never thought that I would develop a career as a singer in a boy band. Did I say boy band and I mean BOY BAND! I'm not pretty but I'm handsome and I'm a pathetic A-cup.

I'm usually mistaken for a boy but the total spin in my life happened, when I was mistakenly pushed into the X-Factor audition room by a whole lot of people. There where people young and old trying to become famous and to them, I was just another face in the crowd.

When I got in, a strange woman just slapped a number on my chest and told me that I was next. Next for what? Then I hear a powerful voice singing "Cry Me A River", OK I have to sing, but before I could say anything the woman pushed me up. Oh my god, how did this happen?!

The lights are shining on me and the judges stare at me obviously waiting to be blown away, a middle aged man with dark hair said, "So young man your name is Riley, am I right?" All I could manage was a nod, "So what are you going to sing for us today?" I'm stunned then I remember my brother singing a Disney song in the TV room, what was it oh right, We Are One from the Lion King 2. "We Are One, from the Lion King 2."

People start laughing and so does the judges but I just start singing. "We will stand by your side filled with hope and filled with pride. 'Cause we are one you and I we are like the earth and sky, one family under the sun, all the wisdom to lead all courage that you need you will find when you see, we are one." Well that shut everybody up.

I turn to leave when everybody start clapping and applauding and even the judges stand up and start smiling. OK not what I was expecting, I literally thought they were going to throw me off the stage I was so bad! The judges tell me that I'm in!

Hah, I got in by singing a lame Disney song, now that's something. I go to the front desk to change my address and phone number but I'm still Riley, coincidentally everyone calls me Riley. But I have to change my last name, I tell them that my family got divorced recently which is not all completely a lie, because my dad left my mom recently. I walk home astonished by all that I have accomplished today, one week in England and I'm already accepted into the biggest show in the city.

I grin as I open my door and greet my mom and little brother.
