(S.2) Chapt.38
MORNING came by like a shooting star, within a blink of an eye it was somehow broad daylight already. It felt weird since everyone felt they were lacking of sleep, probably the fact they weren't sleeping in their pup houses is the reason behind it. Seeming this was no problem at all in normal circumstances, the trio (well, specifically Skye and Marshall) were already panicking that the three of them had woken up late and this morning star might just give away to where they are hiding. Skye's copter isn't unnoticeable, with all the noise the engines make, it'll make it twice difficult to hide themselves. They extinguished the fire immediately to stop the continuous smoke float higher, they checked around their area – making sure they didn't leave anything behind that could be used as evidence, and before you know it. They were off.
"Hold on Skye, let me strap myself in your harness" Chase says, trying his best for the harness to get a good grip on him, when he was satisfied with the results, he yelled a 'go' signal and with no hesitation and delay, the copter roared to life and had ascended to the sky as it transports three pups - fleeing away from the evil grasp of Sweetie until they can carry out a perfect plan that will he executed flawlessly by just the three of them. It will sure be a tough work and luck, but if they don't do anything, everything may be in danger.
Marshall looked back and found the last smoke of their camp fire dissipate into nothingness and sighed out of relief that Sweetie was nowhere to be found. "So, what now?" The dally questions, looking over to Skye. The Cockapoo was actually clueless to what they'll do next because, she has no idea what started the rest of the PAW Patrol's uncontrolled anger and desire to hunt her down, is she doesn't know what started it, she'll never know what the remedy would be. "I'm. . . Not quite sure honestly." She began "But. . . I'm really terrified, Marshall" Her voice failed to seal her true emotions, and because of this, Marshall right away knew how much pressure she is in right now. He'd be lying if he doesn't feel the same too, though what differs him from her is he's taking it lightly, though he's quite unsure if he should even feel this way, but in his opinion as of the moment, they don't need one more stressing since what they need is someone to who has a clear mind to guide them.
"It'll be okay Skye—" Marshall coos, rubbing her back in hope she'll calm down while she's busy manning the copter "—Just remember what Ryder told us, Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution. If you don't have any problems, you don't get any seeds" Skye tried to calm herself down upon hearing Marshall attempting to place tranquility within her mind, she tried her best, but deep inside, there's this storm that splashes within her that kept her head clogged up from thinking straight. It was honestly not a great experience. "Uh guys. . .?" They heard someone call, it came from below and seems it was Chase "Yeah?" Marshall replies as he kept an ear out in hope he'll hear him properly despite of the wind rushing to them made my the rotor "I'm not sure if the thing behind us is great"
Badump.
Their hearts stopped for a second upon his words. Cold sweat appeared around their foreheads, paralysis consumed them as they froze there from where they are. They fear something bad might happen, though if they don't look, they'll never know the next thing to do to escape from whatever that is. Skye looked back and found a plane that seems to be transporting passengers and looks like it's about to land "S-skye?" Chase calls out as he sees the plane approaching them. If they don't move, everyone will be harmed even if the airplane itself attempts to maneuver – it is too large to avoid the small copter in time. The German Shepherd yelled her name again and prayed to himself that she'll finally snap out of her trance.
"OKAY OKAY" She tells almost too miserably, she did her very best to maneuver out of the approach in plane's way. It was like she was in some sort of video game – the time's running out with the music sped up. The flashing time that slowly ticks down to zero pulses in the corner that drives your anxiety. It had taken control of you and had focused to that instead of finishing what is supposed to be done. Though still battling, you see the end was still far from reach and you're loosing hope that you'd ever make it out before time runs out. Hey, you see that little flag? It's the end right? As you fast approach you heard the loud buzzer ringing as failure had caught up to you. That's what Skye felt.
"GUYS WE'RE GONNA CRASH" Marshall tells as he found one pair of the main rotor blade snap off to another piece, resulting of a huge imbalance on their flight making them unable to ascend properly but downwards. Chase closed his eyes knowing he'll take the impact first since he's located below the copter itself, and of course the bottom hits first (bottom-front I think, idk, ask uncle google). "HOLD ON" She yells as she speedily and wittily tried to land her broken copter safely despite of its inability to provide them a smooth docking.
The temperature went off the meter as they slowly descended Earth-ground, the atmosphere rushes through them like needles and had blinded them from seeing straight. "Think Skye, think!!" She told her self, though her system seems to be shutting down slowly and nothing was functioning properly. She hated how she's having a mental breakdown in the middle of a crisis and if she doesn't move a muscle or her mind works – she'll put the three of their lives in the hands of Death.
"Why can't you be like them?"
"He'll never trust you."
"Don't trust her—"
"PATHETIC."
"—That small brain of yours
can't catch up to mine"
"We're going to KILL you Skye."

Fumes of smoke had ghosted a spot of an open field. Wheat that used to stand proudly with their backs slender had some of their families bow down and we're burnt to ashes. The vile tang of smoke had pricked everyones' noses, the sight was truly devastating to see, and much more dramatic to see as the sun behind it dips down below them. In the midst of the obvious destroyed crops there stood a broken copter that still continues to emit black smoke that continuously rises up. Three unconscious pups also laid there among the wheat crops, they were heavily injured as a few glass shards pierced right through their flesh and while some had simply sliced their flesh to open into either bigger sets of lines or into minor ones. Major or minor, they're all undoubtedly severely wounded from the crash.
"Ugh. . . " One grunts as it slowly stood up, the Dalmatian slowly woke up from its painful slumber; he took a look of his surroundings but every move he made was another set of invisible needle that bullet right into his muscles. Despite the obvious pain and horrible condition he is in, he knows he can't just lay back to the ground and sleep away the pain in hope it'll disappear tomorrow. He noticed that the Sun's going down and camping here is a vulnerable spot that would make things easy for Sweetie and the others. With every effort he puts, he tried waking up Chase and Skye and had told them they must evacuate this area immediately. "We're not safe out here" He whispers as slowly the German Shepherd fluttered his eyes open.
Upon his awake, he considered it as one of the horrible wake he ever had. Pain immediately took over his body and it was all he could think about, he felt every limb heavy and not one would cooperate to move. "O-okay. . . This isn't bad! We can carry Chase by ourselves" He tells Skye who's limping just like he is "Okay." The two then limped their way to a position to safely carry Chase along with them to find a much more safe spot, away from an open area. Although their injuries weren't making anything better, every move was an additional slowness to them "This. . . This is torture!!" Marshall whines as he could feel one of his limbs about to snap off from him [even though it isn't really possible at his state, I know, "metaphor!"]. " Don't give up yet Marshall, we have to escape this area before Sweetie catches up"
"Looking for me?"
[
Oh look, speak of the devil! She's here.]
Three words. Three words that sting Skye's mind to annoyance, the urge to strangle her was near at her grasp, but due to her beaten up body – she was unable to pounce her anger on her. "Don't be too surprised how I found you. Your crash was all over the news." She made a circular movement with her right paw as she explains her side of the situation "But aw~ aren't you three a doll waiting for me~?" In between Skye and Marshall hung a German Shepherd who is still in a lot of pain, considering he was at the bottom and who knows what he did to extend his life more, bathed into the conversation "Y-you're wicked. . . "
Sweetie snorted at this "Funny to hear it from you, after you used to believe me. But believe me this time, you'll trust me again Chase" And as if a lightning flashes before them, she swiftly tapped Busby's head, not longing, the possessed PAW Patrol members popped out behind her. Silence washed over them and their hearts beat in their ears, the cold and eerie breeze of the coming night blew by them. All of them looked intensely at each other, though the other side is fear-driven that they were frozen to place. Like something they've practiced for a long time, as the cue were heard. . . They sprinted forward.
"Get them."
With all Marshall's might, he tossed Chase forward, whereas he landed a good distance away from Sweetie and everyone "Skye I'll throw you to him and please take care of yourselves. You're our only hope in putting a stop to that deranged pup. So please." He pleaded as the distant sounds of feet and paws trampling and sprinting off the ground "B-but what about you?!" Skye yells as she took a quick glance back to the fast approaching angry mob. The Dalmatian shook his head rapidly "There's no time okay?! Drastic times call drastic measures" Before Skye could argue any further, Marshall tossed her forward like he did to Chase. Of course she didn't land without any pain resonating everywhere "GO!!" He yells as his figure was slowly engulfed by the towering mob that conceals his figure from Skye's sight.
Skye looked back and found Chase trying his best to escape by crawling, despite of feeling like being put through hell as he felt everything burn into the invisible fire's touch. Seeing there's no more possible objects lying on the ground for something to slow the angry mob, she used her pup-tag and broke it into pieces and it sparks flew around. To ensure it would be really useful, she spat her saliva to the open wires and had ignited, soon the fire grew bigger [im not sure if that's possible, I tried researching about it and got weird results ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ] Once she was sure that the fire could finally be left alone, she speedily limped her way to Chase who's almost at the edge of the field and back into the forest. Before entering back into the woods [because they're so abundant and so convenient], she looked back to see that the fire had shaken them. Though deep inside, she was already yelling a galaxy of apologies with several reasons [like cause a man made (or pup) wildfire, causing a possible death to her friends and that'd be a shame because what if they're not supposed to die in the story :)) ]
"I'm sorry guys. . . "
I apologize if there's something
too cliché in this story,
I tried to dilute it,
but that's all I could do.
Hope you enjoyed it
nevertheless tho!
Also, we're all nearing
for the final chapter!
