Believe.

It was dark. I couldn't see anything. I may have been dreaming for a long time. But why do I feel the loneliness beside me whenever I wake up?
If I was used to being alone. . .
Why am I craving it every once in a while?

Everytime my eyes open to its wake,
I'd see a numbering walls that stood above me.
Iron wires clasped me to its grip and intimidates me into one corner.
Everyone passes by me,
Turn a blind eye,
And soon hush me angrily.
I believed that I'll soon escape this prison.
Live a happy life.

That time of course came.
Olivia showed up and adopted me lovingly.
She treated me like I was the head of the manor.
I felt like I was human from the way she treats me.
But the respect for her as my human - savior. . . Never disappeared.

I happily rejoiced that I've gotten what I wanted when I believed.

But I guess everyone simply likes to take away my joy.
I was tumbled down the hill and crashed back once more into the forest.
Never remembered seeing such sight,
But somehow it was all familiar to me.

I believed I'll get myself out of here,
But a month passes by me like an old tractor.
It slowly crushed me to loneliness,
Crushed my hope.
I had enough of believing.

Because I now know what happens when I Believe.

They'll lift me up.
And thrash me back down.

"Hey! Toss me the disc back!"

ROCKY leapt and caught it with his jaw victoriously, when he found Rubble approaching, he soon tossed it back to Marshall "Don't let Wubble and Chase get it Mawshall dude!" Zuma yelled as he sped past him so the spotted-pup can toss the disc before Rubble or Chase could even land a claw on it. The Mongrel getting exhausted and feeling his throat turning into a desert, he decided to take a small break from the action his other friends were causing. But before deciding to emerge back into his pup-house, he realized his friend Skye wasn't anywhere to be seen.

She promised Rocky she'll join in a little later, but that later turned into never. Feeling slightly concerned about this, he decided to check her pup-house where she was last seen by him personally. Taking a peek for himself, he found Skye asleep with an eye closed and the other slightly opened "Uh, Skye?" He calls her name softly, doing his best not to startle her, the Cockapoo hummed a response "F-flicker? Is that you?" She asks, slowly sitting in a better position. Rocky, clearly confused and clueless who in the world she have mistaken him as, just stood there and waiting for her to re-adjust to the current event. "You okay?" He asks again, spotting the tire in her eyes "Oh, yeah. . . Just been thinking what to tell Chase so he could gain his memories faster"

"Skye, why are you like this?" Rocky blurted in a slightly stern way. The Cockapoo, not-so-secretly surprised, looked at him flabbergasted "What?" She questions back, clearly confused as he is right now "Zuma told me about how you're struggling with Chase." He informs in a matter-of-factly, "I. . . I know that" she stammers but Rocky continued further "Yet you still act that way" Skye felt herself being cast a spell of silence, and between the two of them, they both know that not only will his words affect the Cockapoo itself, but so will the Mongrel. Knowing that if he doesn't speak up now, there'll be nothing to talk about as they'll leave the expanse into an awkward hushed-silence. "You know. . . Chase is not Math. You need no formula. All you need is to be there for him, and being there doesn't mean once you get to converse with him you'll need to succeed in the task, which is helping him gain his memories back."

Digesting all of the said words, as much as she knows herself that these are true and wise words. . . She couldn't somehow take it in and apply it to herself. "You don't need to be hard on yourself Skye." Rocky smiles then pats her head reassuringly, Skye smiled at this and thanked him for the short 'advice-session'. But once he had walked away to his own-personal puphouse, Skye couldn't help but dissipate her iconic smile - the one her friends mistaken for as a sun in the mid-day of summer.

"Why can't you be like them?"

"Hey Chase. . ." She greets almost too quietly, the German Shepherd turns his head towards the voice and found her "Oh, Skye" he mentions her presence as he pats the patch of greenery beside him indicating to sit beside him. As of the moment, it was late afternoon, the sun was slightly tilted above in the sky and was about to set in a few set of hours. Everyone - like Rubble and Ryder, were dozing off for their afternoon nap; Marshall, Rocky and Zuma on the other hand/paw headed to the beach fifteen minutes ago to catch some waves and build sand-castles. Chase and Skye has a much different agenda than theirs, they were basically having a one-on-one therapy session by the looks of it, and everyone agreed to allow Chase talk to Skye at least a few hours or more considering she seems to have more knowledge about the hind sights of Chase's past. It was also an advantage for Skye as she wants to help him but has no idea to approach him, so basically plotting a designated time [which is kinda like forcing like attending a class you don't like] to discuss about his past will help them?

"So. . ." She trails off, wondering what to say beforehand "What do you want to know. . ?" Chase looked out farther, farther than the trees that surround their Look-Out hill, farther even that horizon line, father than those clouds. . . "I've been wondering. . . How'd you got here? Everyone's told me their part and how I was a huge help in helping them adjust to their new life." Skye looked to the ground, still listening to what he has to say. But nothing made sense anymore as every sound that happens in real-time, were covered by forest sounds that always haunts her to sleep. Below, the lush-vibrant grass turned darker; soil became much more mushy and every move she would make - tiny pebbles would sting her to shame. As much as she wants to feel like she's living a princess life with the help of woodland creatures, she's not always lucky that she could convince them that she's no threat - most of the times she felt lonely and empty inside, a missing piece from her own body and could only feel the pierce of someone's words stuck in her chest. A large splinter that she could never build up the courage to remove it from pestering her.

Some nights the splinter had disappeared and left a large hole in her body - feeling hollow and a mindless zombie. But some night she feels heavy and the splinter lingering on her already bruised heart and caused it to sink deeper than it already was. At times like those she was sleepless as the echoes from a familiar voice daunt her every minute, every move. The feeling of being a prey always remained with her - the feeling of a pair of eyes watching her, waiting to soon corrode her with the pounding that she had long accepted.

There were days she wants to live and thrive longer in the world, to wait and see what the world could offer her. But most of the time, she anticipates for her glass of sand to drain its last grain and just lay there helplessly, and forever be buried among the ancient soils of time. Then there was that one day she dreads and simultaneously looked forward to, and when she was about to just stop there and give up. . . "You were the one who gave me the purpose to live" she gushes, capturing Chase's attention in the midst of the hushed late-afternoon. The Cockapoo, realizing what she said, tried her best to over-lap those with other subjects to halt him from questioning her being "You. . . Somehow rescued me and brought me here. Ever since then, I was part of PAW Patrol" the German Shepherd smiles at this and asks "Did I help you in any way?" Upon hearing this, she looks out to the west where the sun is bound to set, the dandelions that long grew there danced along with the lazy wind, a patch of clouds plastered high above them slowly walked north-ward, and the stars above them were preparing to cast their brightest shines tonight.

"Yeah, you helped. . . Quite a lot"
