37: Spin a Two-way Challenge

Question: would you love to get a tattoo sometime in the future? If you already one, do you plan on getting more?

Answer: I personally don't think I'm ever gonna get a tattoo. I'm scared of a needle piercing my skin over 1000 times. OMG.

Chapter 37 - Spin a Two-way Challenge.

Oliver

"What's the huge twist? The incubus will spin the bottle instead?" Mako asked, laughing at Chris who was almost completely red in the face.

I couldn't help but giggle at the relationship Chris and Shirley had, they were enviably and genuinely happy.

"Nope, the incubus stays hidden till it's bedtime, and no one else gets to see it except yours truly," Shirley disputed, sending Chris another teasing smirk.

"Okay can we leave the incubus please? It never did anything to anyone," covering his face with his hands, Chris begged into his palms.

"Yeah he did nothing but be a sexy hunk of a boyfriend," Justin mimicked Shirley's voice, teasing him this time.

"Okay, okay, guys for real this time. Please stop," he pleaded again with a little bit of seriousness in his tone.

The joke was getting old anyway so they all decided to drop it.

"So back to what I was saying about the game of spin the bottle with a huge twist," Shirley started, getting everyone's attention once again. "It's going to be like a dare or dare situation, no truth. A two-way dare, if you wish. We'll spin the bottle once, then twice to select a pair for the dare. I've over ten dares written down so there's something for everyone," she explained further, clapping her hands when she got to the end of her explanation.

"Wow, you really planned this properly," I commented, impressed by her enthusiasm.

"I was bored, okay? And school has been stressing me out, I need to unwind and have some fun so I don't run mad," she ranted.

"Trust me you're not even as stressed as I am," I scoffed, shaking my head.

"Well, not my fault you fell sick and had to skip school for a week," she flashed me a compassionate smile.

"Olly skipped school for a we-" Khalid started but dwelled on the last word, eventually swallowing the rest of his sentence. "Nevermind," he finished, taking his eyes back down.

He didn't care to finish his question because he didn't care to know. I simply sighed and looked away, I was slowly getting used to that reality anyway.

"Where did you even get the beer bottle from?" Justin asked Shirley, chuckling at the bottle she was proudly playing with.

"From our alcohol lord, Khalid," Chris answered, scowling at Khalid like he'd been warning him to stop drinking countless times already. "He's been drinking like crazy recently," he finished, shrugging and letting out a breath wrapped in frustration like he was tired of trying to get Khalid to stop.

"He has his reasons," Alex chipped in while placing a friendly tap on Khalid's back. "Just like me, I don't smoke without a reason. I'm having less and lesser reasons to smoke these days though," he finished, like anyone asked for his opinion.

My eyes were on him as he was talking, mostly because of the way he was tapping Khalid and he just stayed still and quiet under his touch. I noticed that he said the last part of his sentence while smirking at Jess and I had to stop myself from gagging and choking on my own tongue and mouth fluid. I was disgusted by the sight of that, but there was nothing I could do about it. At least not yet, I wasn't in the position to give advice to anyone.

Especially not Jess.

Jess didn't smile back, but the way she looked away and tucked her hair behind her ears said a lot, a whole lot.

"Ahem, nobody asked you," Chris faked a cough and murmured into his hands. His words were audible enough for all of us to hear though.

"Okay so here's the list, there's a total of fifteen two-way challenges," Shirley spoke up before Alex could think of a reply, holding a sheet of paper up in the air. "When you and your partner get chosen by the Oh-So-Wise Bottle, you'll have to select a number, one that hasn't been selected before. Got it?" Shirley announced so professionally, looking at each and every one of us.

She really was the queen of party games, it suit her.

"What's the penalty for refusing to carry out your dare with your partner?" I inquired, because it seemed that was going to happen, maybe not with others, but with me.

With Alex and Khalid just almost opposite me in the circle, if the bottle ever matches me with any of them that's a big 'hell no' for me.

"Oh come on, Olly," Shirley slumped her shoulders and pouted at me. "You don't want to be a party pooper, do you?"

"This is not a party," I retorted.

"Yeah but it's similar to one, you get the point," she gave up trying to argue with me. "Since everyone is fine and clear on the rules, we can begin. But first, we have to rearrange ourselves. You don't think I'm gonna let us stay this way, now where's the fun in that. Switcheroo!" She instructed, clapping and waving her hands like a magician.

We all got up from the circle and switched places, more like Shirley rearranged us herself. I was now sitting in the middle of Patrick and Alex. I originally wanted to protest against this arrangement but I realised that would've been childish, so I took a deep breath and kept quiet about it.

On the bright side Mako was sitting directly in front of me. Khalid was on the other side of Alex, I tried my best to convince myself that I didn't care. We expanded the circle though so there was enough space between each person. This way, the bottle would choose distinctly.

Khalid wasn't talking much, but he didn't look sad or depressed. He didn't look anything like me. Matter of fact, he was making small talk and giggling with Jess once in a while. The fact that he wasn't his normal bright self who gathers everyone together and tells them what to do didn't hide the fact that he was doing way better than I was, that he'd been doing way better than I ever was all this while.

I had to stop myself from thinking further about it. I had already decided to not think too much about this anymore, I wasn't going to start now. Definitely not now; in front of everyone, including him.

"Okay so we're all settled now, right?" Shirley pitched, clasping her hands together. "Let the daring commence!"

With that, she spun the bottle the first time, the head pointed at Yadiri, then she spun the second time and it landed on Jess?! The way everyone, including me, cheered when this happened was insanely funny. My eyes widened and I unintentionally clapped when it happened. I was strongly anticipating what their dare would be.

"Who's choosing between the both of you?" Shirley teased, wiggling her eyebrows at the both of them.

"Let's go with ten," Jess spoke up for the both of them.

"Are you sure?" Shirley smirked and raised an eyebrow at her.

"Dude, yes," Jess confirmed and adjusted, getting ready for whatever the dare was.

"What about you Yadiri, is that fine by you?"

"Uh-huh," she nodded, a wide smile plastered on her face. One could tell anticipation was boiling within her.

"Okay then," Shirley brought out the sheet and paper and got ready to read dare number ten, but Khalid stopped her before she could start.

"Wait a minute," he held out his hand for effect. "You know all the dares on that thing and the one which is the mildest of all of them. Isn't that cheating on the rest of us?" Khalid queried, sending us a look and indirectly asking for backup.

There was logic behind his question, good logic. However, before any of us could throw another question at Shirley, she already had an answer.

"Yeah I do, and that's why I'll let whomever I'm paired up with make the selection without influencing their decision," she clarified that for everyone.

"So you'll go ahead with whichever number the person selects without protesting?" Khalid asked again.

"Mhmm, sure," she agreed. "I also want to have fun," she asserted then held up the sheet of paper again to read out dare number ten. "Demonstrate an intense make out session without actually kissing or stripping down. However, you must caress, moan, rub noses together, and breathe down each other's necks. This will go on for a minimum of one minute, there's no limit to how long it will last. Stop whenever you're satisfied," she read aloud. Bringing the list down from in front of her face, her mouth fell open and her eyebrows reached the sky.

The second she finished reading, everyone started whooping and cheering. I tried my best to stifle my laughter, but I greatly failed at that when a muzzled laughter escaped my throat and I shortly joined the jubilation.

"This is some girl on girl action!" Patrick exclaimed, using his fist as a microphone. "I hundred percent approve!"

"Come on, get on with it," Chris gently nudged Yadiri who was sitting beside him.

"I'm so sorry," Shirley softly apologised to Jess who stood up from the floor, sending her an apologetic smile.

"Don't be darling," she assured her, smiling at her as well. "They want a show so let's give them a show, right Yadi?" Jess walked to Yadiri and held out a hand for her.

"Yes girl," she took it and let Jess pull her up.

Everyone started cheering and whooping again, including Alex, to my surprise. I suppose it was because Jess was involved that's why he was this interested.

"Okay so I'll set the timer," Shirley reached for the stop watch in the middle of the circle. "When I say start, you guys can you know..." she delayed, giggling softly, "... you know, commence the activity," she finished, laughing fully now. "Please walk into the centre of the circle," she instructed and they swiftly obeyed. "Thank you. Now, start!" She announced and, oh my goodness, they started!

Exploring with their hands, grabbing and holding plump, unsaid places, letting out soft moans and putting on a show for everyone present, they went ahead with their dare, proudly, I must add. They didn't care that everyone was actively staring and cheering them on, it was just the two of them in their own little world during that short minute.

"Time!" Shirley announced, but they went on for a few more seconds, increasing the pitch of their moans.

That was when Patrick started clapping and cheering more than everyone else, drumming on the floor as well. He seemed to be enjoying the show more than everyone else.

I just sat at a place, gaping at them with a hand over my mouth and complete shock in my eyes. I had no idea that Jess and Yadiri were capable of doing something like this so comfortably.

"Umm, time?" Shirley repeated, putting it as a question this time and that was when they finally stopped. Smiling at everyone, they curtsied and returned to their positions in the circle.

"Oh my God, that was such a show," Patrick crowed, cupping his face with his hands and looking at the both of them with wide opened eyes.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself," Jess commented, smiling at him.

"Ahhh," he screamed, holding his hand over his chest, he fell back and started heaving loudly.

"Stop being so dramatic," Alex snorted at his roommate.

"Dude!" Patrick dragged his speech before sitting up again.

"Okay so both of you will get to spin the bottle to choose the next pair; Jess will go first then Yadiri will spin next," Shirley informed.

"Oh, is that so?" Jess came into the middle of the circle and spun the bottle, it landed on Patrick.

That was quick Karma.

Yadiri spun next and it landed on Chris. Their dare wasn't as intimate as the previous one. There were a few more dares before the bottle finally chose me, it was Alex who rotated it. Why wasn't I surprised?

I kept saying a silent, yet loud, prayer in my head, hoping the next spin wouldn't choose Khalid. I let out a long sigh of relief when the head of the bottle Justin had rotated pointed at Mako, skipping Jess by just a hair.

"Oh," Shirley cooed, "Things are getting interesting. Choose a number," she instructed.

Looking over at Mako who had nothing but a clueless, genuine smile on his face, he gestured for me to go ahead and choose a number.

Clearing my throat and giggling softly, I spoke up. "We'll go with number one."

"Oh? Are you sure?" Shirley raised an eyebrow at me and those who cared started clapping and cheering at my decision. I tried not to pay attention to those who didn't care; Alex and Khalid for example.

"Yes, he is. Stop trying to make him second-guess his choice and read out the goddamn dare," Mako joked, urging Shirley to go ahead and read dare number one out loud.

"Okay, okay, sheesh. Easy there," she chuckled and held the sheet of paper in front of her face like she always has. "Oh," she whispered to herself when she read the dare, held a hand over her mouth and started laughing. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she said in between laughs. "I'm sorry but this one is a little bit funny. I made most of the dares masculine because they're mostly guys here and only three girls. Imagine if this was between a boy and a girl," she burst into laughter again.

"Please read it already, you're scaring me," I giggled nervously, rubbing the nape of my neck.

"Okay, okay," she cleared her throat and started, "You're being dared to switch underwear with your partner. You'll first have to show us the underwear you're putting on right now before you go somewhere private to change," she finished and started blinking innocently at the both of us.

Everyone in the circle fell silent for some time until Jess spoke up.

"Well fuck," she tittered gently, "That's indeed a masculine dare."

The rest of them joined her to laugh, I just kept staring wide-eyed at Shirley.

"It's okay if you don't want to go ahead with the dare," Mako said to me, taking notice of the look on my face.

"What do you mean "It's okay"?" Shirley shrieked, frowning at him, "It's most definitely not okay. We all went ahead with ours no matter how demanding it was. Why would he want to step back now, that's unacceptable and unfair to everyone else. I think he-" she continued ranting and I just had to cut her off.

"Oh please shut up," I tutted and shook my head at her. "Who said I want to step back now? I'm just taking my time to digest this 'manly dare'," I air quoted. Sighing, I brought my hands down and slapped them against my thighs.

"So we're doing it then?" Mako asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

"I suppose we are," I replied, sighing and clicking my tongue. "Problem is: where are we going to change, like, switch... you know, umm..." I trailed off, looking for the most decent way to say it out loud.

"Where are we going to make the underwear switch?" Mako helped me out, chuckling softly.

"Yeah that, where are we going to make the underwear switch," I repeated idly.

"You guys can just go out the glass doors and do it in the roof garden," Jess suggested, pointing in the direction of the doors.

"Oh," Mako voiced his realisation, buying the idea.

However, I didn't see enough logic behind that suggestion. "Is it safe to go out to the roof garden this late?"

"Oh shit, I'm sorry. There will be snakes in the _roof garden," Jess replied caustically, placing a hand over her chest.

For a second, I thought she was actually being serious, and supportive of my argument until I took notice of the tone in her voice.

Frowning, I leaned back and titled my head to the side. "You're joking," I stated dryly.

"Of course I'm joking. Now get out there and do your dare," she pitched, waving us towards the glistening glass slide doors.

"Fine," I huffed, pushing myself off the floor.

Pulling my shirt up and sagging my sweatpants just a little, I showed them the waistband of my underwear. Well I showed those who cared to look and take notice of my underwear, Khalid didn't look up from the floor, but Alex did. He seemed to care a great deal that I carried out my dare.

Mako followed suit and together we both walked out through the sliding doors and onto the roof garden, which was way fancier than the public terrace on the ground floor.

Sliding the doors shut behind him, we led ourselves to a somewhat secluded area, away from prying eyes.

"You're sure you want to do this?" Mako exhaled, placing both hands on his waist with his fingers facing backwards.

"Yeah, of course," I answered hastily. Pulling up my shirt, I held it against my chest with my chin and went for the waistband of my boxers and my sweatpants at once, tugging at them.

"Wait, wait, wait," Mako called out, stopping me. "Jesus, you're so fast."

"Aren't we supposed to hurry?" I raised an eyebrow at him, only just realising that my stomach was bare when the cold air hit my abdomen. I released my shirt and let it fall down freely.

"I know but, like," he sighed and looked away for a minute before bringing his eyes back to me, "This dare is quite demanding, even for me. I guess it's because it's you. If it was someone like Justin- my roommate- then I wouldn't have problems switching underwears with him. Hell, I might've even worn his underwear in a hurry a few times," he admitted.

"So the problem is you then, not me," I commented, getting a clearer picture.

"Maybe," he agreed. "I mean it would've been better if I was dared to kiss you or something like that."

"Do you want to kiss me?"

"No, no," he quickly dismissed the idea he'd unknowingly created in my head, tensely holding his hands out. "It's not that," he chuckled and licked his lower lip. "Some people will strongly disapprove of that action," he finished, eying me conscientiously.

My eyebrows knit and my shoulders slumped. I was tired of hearing him say things I didn't understand even if I tried to.

"People like who?"

"I don't mean anyone in particular, I'm just saying." He was quick to blurt out an evasive response.

"Huh?" My mouth hung open and I looked at him with doubt in my eyes.

"Yeah," he pressed his lips into a line and drew his shoulders up. "So how're we doing this thing?"

"You take off your underwear and I take off mine. How else?" I laughed derisively.

"Okay, I don't think you're in the best mood right now, so I'll just stop asking questions," he noted with a shrug.

Inhaling deeply, I let it all out slowly while rubbing my eyes and the bridge of my nose. "I'm sorry, I just... Shit is just..." I sighed and looked away.

"It's fine," Mako helped me out, giving me assurance once again. "I would say that I know what's going on but I might be so wrong and I don't want to intrude... in your life. Moreover, you might not be ready to talk about it," he finished.

The way he showed so much understanding but at the same time respected my privacy and opinions made me happy. It, once again, made me realise that this was beautiful, helpful Mako I was talking with, not Khalid.

He was nothing like Khalid. I refrained from raining imprecations at Khalid in my head.

"Thank you, really. Thank you so much," I breathed, smiling at him.

"Sure Olly. So now let's get this stupid dare over with," he smirked, turning around and stripping. I turned around and did the same.

Everyone started cheering and applauding when they saw us coming back into the penthouse room. But then again, everyone, in this case, excludes Khalid and his new best friend; Alex.

"Show us," Shirley squealed out of excitement when we got close enough.

"Of course," Mako answered confidently. With a proud smile on his face, he went straight for it.

Pulling up his shirt a little bit, he revealed his underwear which was actually my underwear, and I revealed my underwear which was actually his.

They all chorused a gasp and wore surprised looks on their faces. The boys; Chris, Justin, and Patrick, started whooping and making wolf whistles. The girls were more speechless than excited.

I couldn't help the wide smile that tugged at my facial features. I sent the sheepish grin their way before going back to my spot in the circle, hot all over.

"You guys actually went ahead with it," Justin mused, drumming the floor mat underneath us.

"Of course we did. It was a dare, you'll get your turn soon. You better be ready," Mako mentioned, looking over at Justin.

"Oh sorry bro, I've already had my turn, remember? So bring it on," he bragged, chuckling contentedly.

Thinking about it, almost everyone in the circle had had a go. Shirley had given Alex a one minute tease dance and I could almost realistically see fumes shoot out of Chris's ears. Luckily, Alex had sat there motionless, without grabbing her or anything, like he was originally supposed to.

However, he couldn't hide the prominent boner he had down there when she was done strip dancing for him slash giving his lower half a treat.

The only person who hadn't been dared, even once, was Khalid. I guess his time was coming, there were still a few dares left anyway.

"You guys did spend some time in there," Yadiri wrapped an arm around Mako's neck and mumbled into his ears.

"Oh my God, no," Mako flushed, covering his face with his hands.

"Oh no Yadiri, please stop," I cautioned, shaking my head at her.

"I didn't say anything though, it's just your conscience," she replied defensively, schooling an innocent, clueless expression.

"Yadiri!" I scolded.

"Fine, fine," chuckling, she withdrew her hands from around Mako and raised them in surrender.

"So you guys know the rule, spin to determine the next pair," Shirley ordered, motioning at the bottle in the middle of the circle.

"Who's spinning first?" I asked, looking from her to Mako.

"Mako will spin first, then you will spin next," she announced, gesturing with her hands.

"Okay then," he sighed and crawled to the middle of the circle to spin the bottle.

When the bottle finally spun to a stop, it had its head pointing right at Alex. I was beginning to think Alex was getting the most dares among all of us here present. This should've been his fourth, or at the very least, third time of being chosen by the bottle, while we all had a maximum of two dares. I'd just one: the one with Mako.

Crawling to the middle of the circle to spin this time, I had to admit, Mako's underwear fit so perfectly around my area and made me feel so comfortable.

It was a weird thought, I pushed it away.

Awkwardly spinning the bottle out of proportion the first two times and risking it getting broken, I eventually got it right the third time. We all watched the bottle spin, as if the universe had planned it, the head of the bottle pointed directly at Khalid. It was not unsettling or blurred, it was clearly pointing at him.

Slowly looking up from the bottle to him, I was faced with his deadpan expression. Blinking blankly at him with my mouth hung open, I tried my best to look innocent, I truly was innocent. It's not like I had rigged the spin or bribed the bottle to point at him.

"Umm, yeah," I muttered under my breath, a bit excited that, at last, he was literally involved in the game until I recalled who his partner was.

All that excitement drained with the blood from my face.

Going back to my spot in the circle I crossed my legs under me and gripped my knees so tightly. As tightly as I clenched my jaws.

"Okay, at last our daddy Khalid has joined the game. Pick a number," Shirley informed, skimming through the paper in her hands.

"What dares are left?" Khalid finally spoke up after quite some time. He was almost completely quiet, relatively speaking because even I had spoken more than he had since the commencement of this.

"Umm," Shirley clicked her tongue and read out the dares that were yet to be selected.

"We'll go with twelve," he mentioned shortly after Shirley had finished reading the numbers out.

"We are?" Alex interjected, frowning at him.

"Yeah? I mean, unless you want to-"

"Nah, twelve is fine," he confirmed before Khalid could finish.

"Okay then," Shirley adjusted and got ready to read out dare number twelve. "One of you is required to carry the other on their shoulders and around their neck whilst descending the stairs to the ground floor and ascending the stairs back up to the penthouse," Shirley finished with a scoff. "Easy, this one," she added.

We all listened while she read, but as she read I was also paying close attention to Khalid and I noticed the way the light returned to his face at the completion of that dare. A stupid, beautiful smile broke at his lips and he chuckled softly.

"You can't be serious," he mumbled.

I couldn't help but instantly get annoyed and jealous at the same time. How could he be so happy because of this one dare with Alex. This one dare that should've been between the both of us, just me and him.

Why did Alex always have to be in the way?

"I definitely am. You heard it yourself," Shirley asserted, gently folding the paper and hiding it away. "So who's carrying whom?"

"I'm obviously carrying Alex," he scoffed, "Is that even a question?"

"Yes, it is?" Alex nagged and tried to fake a frown but he failed when he burst out laughing. "Of course you're going to carry me, bruv. I can't carry all that muscle and bone on you, even if I could, I'm too lazy to," he laughed.

"Prove my point for me," Khalid bragged, nodding his head.

"So you're going to carry me up and down ten flights of stairs?" Alex laughed, playfully tapping Khalid.

Now, I know I shouldn't be offended by that, or by anything concerning those two in general, but I couldn't keep quiet and listen to Alex publicly display stupidity. I was irked by that, not just by the entire dare but by that in particular.

"Five," I blurted, loudly and clearly, looking up and fixing my eyes on him.

"What?" Alex jabbed, contorting his face into a bored, angry frown and sharpening his gaze at me as well.

"Five flights of stairs, don't be stupid," I retorted, involuntarily adding that last part. But it was already too late when I realised what I had said so I just held on to my straight face.

"Excuse you?" He grimaced, blinking rapidly.

"You can't count ordinary flights of stairs, what else can't you count?" I shot back, switching roles and picking on him this time.

Now, I realise I might've been overreacting, but given everything that was happening here slash had happened and was still yet to happen, it was about time that I lost it. Alex and Khalid were most likely playing some kind of stupid game with me and I had absolutely no idea.

"Umm, I can't remember saying anything to you, so why are you eating yourself up?" Alex placed both of his hands on the floor and leaned forward.

"Actually, you've said lots of shit to me, and I'm not eating myself up. Your stupidity is eating me up and I think I've had enough of th-" I was yet to successfully vent about everything Alex had said to me and spew everything I'd been keeping inside- alongside my suppressed anger- when Mako stopped me.

"Oliver! Please no, please," he dragged his speech, begging and shaking his head at me. "Don't do it," he mouthed, still shaking his head.

Taking a deep breath, I squeezed my eyes shut and was about to utter an apology to Alex and everyone else in the circle when Alex decided to make things worse.

"What's wrong with you? Is it because of Khalid here that you're suddenly acting like a mad man," he taunted with a scowl.

In less than a second, Khalid roughly shoved him and sent him falling backwards, to everyone's surprise- including mine. I wasn't expecting that from him at all.

"Are you daft, sadiqi? (My friend). You must be," he concluded for himself. Clicking his tongue, he shot up from the floor. "Sorry but I'm out of here," he announced on his way out already.

Even after he left the penthouse and the doors had loudly banged shut, we all still remained silent. Some, like me, were staring out at where he'd just walked out from while the others sent clueless looks to each other.

Alex swallowed labouringly and pushed himself up from the floor in utter shame and embarrassment which looked so perfect on him, I loved the look on his face. It was a new look, one I'd never seen before, not even when Yadiri scolded him. He resumed his previous sitting position.

"Ummm, okay?" Shirley mused, laughing nervously. "I guess the dare was too much? I should've known, everyone in Denberg is stressed and constantly hungry," she tried her best to make a joke but no one even talked about how unfunny it was, no one even paid attention to her joke.

"What just happened?" Justin asked, nonplussed.

"Drop it," Mako and Chris both shot back at the same time.

"Okay?" He babbled, squinting his eyes at them.

"You should ask Olly here," Alex sassed, adjusting his shirt.

"Oh, won't you just shut up about it?" Chris barked, glaring at him.

Gritting my teeth to prevent myself from saying anything, offensive or not, that might drag this issue any further, I looked at the now empty spot where Khalid was sitting just minutes ago. Tears started stinging at my eyes but I took in a long, shaky breath and lightly shut my eyes, taking in more shaky breaths.

"Let's continue?" Shirley suggested, looking at each and every one of us.

They all agreed but I couldn't. Nothing about this seemed right, maybe to them it did, but to me it didn't, not at all. We were not complete without Khalid. The freshmen in Lighthouse weren't complete without Khalid.

Things had slowly gotten so bad, this bad. And I was probably, if not certainly, the cause of it.

I couldn't continue playing without Khalid here, it didn't feel the same. Although we weren't talking even when he was here, it didn't feel right now that he was gone.

Inhaling deeply and exhaling quietly and steadily, I spoke up. "I can't continue guys," I revealed, slowly getting up from the floor.

"Of course you can't," Alex hissed at me just before I started walking away.

Halting in my steps and keeping my eyes fixed on him, I tilted my head to the side and saw nothing but a boy who seemed to cause trouble just so he could draw attention to himself, because, apparently, if he didn't then no one would notice him.

But that was just what I saw at that very moment, it could've been false, I didn't care to find out.

"You need to learn to shut your face hole sometimes," I advised genuinely before walking out of the penthouse.

Finding my way around the fifth storey, I found the elevator and got back down to my storey, headed straight to my room. The second I got in, I ate some leftover sandwich from this morning while composing a somewhat romantic goodnight text for Mason.

Washing it down with a can of sprite, I brushed my teeth, got into my pyjamas and slipped under my sheets. Reading and rereading the text over and over, I finally brought myself to send it. Then I turned my phone off and assumed an ideal sleeping position.

I didn't care if they were still in the penthouse or if they'd decided to go ahead with the two-way dares or whatever, I just needed to sleep and that's all I thought about at the moment. I had a lot of work waiting for me the next day even though it was Saturday.

To my own surprise, I achieved this and drifted off to sleep in no time.
