For the third straight year I've decided to participate in the Open Novella Contest here on Wattpad also known as the ONC.  There were a lot of good prompts this year, but I've decided to go with number 66:

"When you went to sleep on August 31st, everything was normal.  Today, you woke up, it's October 31st, and every person and animal is gone without a trace, except for you, your next-door neighbor who seems to be equally confused about the time-lapse, and a pet you saw die three years ago.  The three of you team up for one purpose: find out what happened in September."

The mystery appeals to me, but I also liked the idea of taking some really different people and throwing them together into a truly odd situation.  As I set out on writing this I'm not entirely sure where it's going to go, but the spark has been lit, so let's see what happens!
