chapter 4 - The Benefactor

Outfits in the external link

From 4.03 "Muted", outside the Walcott House, Sean walked outside.

Natalie: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"

From 4.03 "Muted", in the Walcott bathroom, the Mute kicked the door open. He looked toward the window, to see that it was shattered, and looked out to the street outside to see that Sean was running away.

The Mute: (voice over from 4.03 Muted) "Hello, Sean."

The Mute stepped into the light from outside, revealing that he had no mouth, just smooth skin from his nose to his chin.

The Mute: (voice over from 4.03 Muted) "I jut killed your family."

From 4.03 "Muted", in Stiles' room, Malia and Stiles were lying on the bed.

Malia took out a notebook of Lydia's notes, showing it to Stiles.

Stiles looked through the notes in confusion. "Lydia wrote these?"

The notes all looked like gibberish, but it was actually similar to the computer code the Mute was looking at earlier.

From 4.03 "Muted", in the art room, Liam and Natalie were sitting together.

Natalie put the pen down, looking at him. "Okay. So what's the plan, hmm? Flirt? Become my friend after you tell me you 'transferred' from your old school when you got kicked out? Ask me out on an official first date after you find out I'm not dating anyone?"

"Maybe," Liam answered, unashamed with a smile.

From 4.03 "Muted", in the school hallway, Scott placed a hand on Tara's waist, another on her cheek, kissing her passionately like he wanted nothing else in the world to happen. Tara returned the kiss in kind, resting her hands on his shoulders, wrapping an arm around his neck, resting her other hand on his head. They pulled away, smiling.

Stiles: (voice over from 4.03 Muted) "That's good. You kissed her."

From 4.03 "Muted", outside the Hale Loft on the stairs, Derek and Stacie were sitting together.

"There was a way to actually do what I wanna do even while the others are in pain," Stacie told him. "I mean, I'd still feel the pain, but not as bad, if I found something to focus on to distract me. Sort of like..."

"An anchor," Derek finished. "I wouldn't use anger. Not for you." Stacie smiled a little at the way he made it sound like it was a good thing. "Something else."

"Then a memory?" Stacie asked. "A person from my past... a person from the now..." She looked at Derek as she finished. "I could actually need some help with learning how to fight, too."

"I couldn't agree more," Derek told her. "You know, Kate, she took something from me when he turned me back. The color of my eyes."

Derek put a hand on Stacie's cheek, wrapping his other arm around her side, resting his hand on the small of her back to hold her a little closer, kissing her deeply and passionately. Stacie returned the kiss in kind, resting her hand on his shoulder. After a moment, they pulled away, looking at each other, smiling. Stacie kissed him deeply, sweetly and passionately for a moment longer. Finally, they pulled away.

Derek: (voice over from 4.03 Muted) "I think we can help each other find what we're looking for."

From 4.03 "Muted", outside the school, Angel and Kira were talking.

"My parents want to move me back to New York," Kira told her.

Angel stopped skating, turning to face Kira. "Why?" Kira tilted her head slightly. Angel looked at her in surprise. "Because of me?"

"At least a little bit, yeah," Kira answered. "My dad doesn't mind us hanging out, okay? But my mom still doesn't trust you." Angel sighed, backing away toward the bench behind her, sitting down. Kira looked at her sadly, sitting next to her. "But I do, Angel."

"I don't wanna stop hanging out with you," Angel told her. "But I don't want you to leave, either."

"I don't, either," Kira told her, taking Angel's hand.

Angel sighed deeply. "So, what do we do?"

Kira and Angel looked at each other, looking confused and somber.

From 4.03 "Muted", on the rooftop of the hospital, Scott ran up onto the rooftop, completely shifted.

Sean was holding Liam on the edge of the roof, looking at Scott. "Get back! Don't."

Sean pushed Liam off the roof.

Scott ran closer, pushing Sean out of the way, reaching out to catch Liam's hands.

Sean grabbed Scott by the arms, pulling them back so that he had to let go of Liam.

Araya: (voice over from 4.01 The Dark Moon) "When you take the bite of an innocent, I will come knocking at your door."

Natalie ran out onto the roof, breathing heavily.

Sean looked over his shoulder toward Natalie.

Natalie leaped from the door to the edge of the roof.

Liam slipped off the roof.

Scott had to bite Liam's arm to keep him from falling to his death.

Liam screamed in pain.

Scott grabbed Liam by the arms so he wouldn't fall.

Scott pulled Liam back onto the roof, backing away from the edge.

Sean grabbed Natalie by her throat throat, pulling her up from the roof, pushing her down, cutting into her skin, making her scream, struggling.

Scott set Liam aside.

Sean pushed Natalie along the roof to the edge, letting her head and back hang off of the roof, trying to push her off, trying to kill her.

Natalie struggled to stay up, holding the wrist of the hand that Sean held her throat with, trying everything to stay alive.

A tomahawk was thrown into Sean's back, killing him.

Sean let go of Natalie, falling to the roof, dead.

Natalie started to fall.

Scott caught her, helping her up, bringing her into his arms in relief. "Oh, my God."

Natalie looked around for the killer. "Scott."

Scott and Natalie pulled away, watching as the Mute started to walk away.

The Mute turned to face them, looking at Scott and Natalie, placing a finger over where his mouth should have been. He walked away, leaving.

Natalie turned to face Liam.

Liam was holding his now bleeding, bit arm, sliding back against a machine behind him, gasping and groaning in pain, looking at Scott in shock, looking at Natalie in worry. He hadn't seen her do anything supernatural because he had been dangling off the roof. He didn't know that she could do most of the things that Scott could do.

Scott and Natalie looked at each other in shock, not knowing what to do.

Same Night - Day One

Night - Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Rooftop

A helicopter shone his spotlight on the rooftop, circling the building.

Sheriff, Jordan and several other officers were cataloging the crime scene.

Sean's body laid where it had fallen.

Angel walked toward Jordan. "JP." Jordan turned to face her. "You said that one of my friends were here."

"Yeah, Natalie," Jordan answered. "Angel, she got hurt in the fight up here, and she's been trying to leave ever since. Nurses and doctors have been trying to get her to stay, but..."

Angel nodded in understanding. "I'll talk to her."

"Thank you, Angel," Jordan told her.

Angel walked inside.

Sheriff walked toward Jordan. "Hey, let's get everyone off the roof. And see if you can stall the ME for five minutes. I've got a couple experts of my own coming to take a look."

"You have experts on teenage cannibals?" Jordan asked.

"Five minutes, Parrish," Sheriff told him. Jordan got the roof cleared off, leaving Sheriff seemingly alone until Derek and Tara seemed to appear out of nowhere. Sheriff turned to face them in surprise. "Hey. Uh, I guess you've been there long enough to hear we need to be quick about this." He walked closer, looking at Sean's body. "Scott said he called himself a Wendigo."

"Cannibalistic shapeshifters," Derek explained. "But I haven't heard of them in Beacon Hills for a long time. Must have been well-hidden."

Tara sniffed at the air, walking toward the edge of the roof, looking at the bloodstain on the ground from when Sean had clawed into Natalie and made her bleed. She looked at Sheriff. "Why did you call me?"

"Because I have a feeling that Scott, Natalie, Stacie and Stiles aren't telling me everything," Sheriff answered. "And if Scott won't tell me, I know he'll tell you, Tara."

Derek looked at Tara knowingly, nodding in agreement.

Tara rolled her eyes, smelling a different scent, walking toward where the bloodstain from when Scott had bitten Liam was. "How many people did Scott and Natalie say were up here?"

Derek looked confused and a little alarmed that Tara seemed to be finding leads and scents that he couldn't.

"Just Sean and the ax murderer, who, apparently, has no mouth," Sheriff answered. "You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

Derek and Tara shook their heads.

"There was someone else," Tara told them. "Someone young. And male."

"You can smell his fear?" Derek asked.

Tara looked at him. "And his blood."

Natalie's Hospital Room

Natalie was pulling on her jean jacket.

Angel walked in.

"I shouldn't be here," Natalie told her. "I should be with Scott and Liam."

"Natalie, several deputies saw your wounds," Angel told her. "The best thing that we can do now is wait until you heal before you get exposed."

"I'm healed, okay?" Natalie asked. "I'm fine, Angel."

Angel nodded sarcastically. "Oh, right, yeah. And when you walk by the deputies stationed outside your door without a scratch, you think that they won't be asking questions?"

Natalie knew she was right, sighing, sitting down in defeat, looking helpless and guilty. "This is all my fault, Angel."

Angel looked at her in confusion, concerned. "Why would you think that?"

Natalie looked at Angel. "Liam got hurt because he was showing off for me, that's the reason he was here, and why Sean almost killed him, and why Scott..." She took a deep breath. "If it wasn't for me, none of this would be happening, Angel. Maybe if I had just left with Isaac..."

Angel shook her head, sitting down next to Natalie. "Hey, don't think that way, Natalie. This is not your fault. As soon as the deputies leave, you can go to them. Okay?" Natalie sighed, nodding. "Are all of you gonna be all right?"

Natalie shook her head. "Angel, I don't know."

McCall House - Living Room

Stacie, Scott and Stiles walked in.

"Like we said, we told our dad everything we could," Stiles told him.

"But you didn't tell him about Liam?" Scott asked.

"You barely told us about Liam," Stacie replied. "What did you do with him, anyway?"

"He's upstairs," Scott answered, starting to climb the stairs.

"Doing what?" Stiles asked.

Scott turned to face them awkwardly. "Lying down."

Stacie and Stiles gave him a weird look.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Scott's Room - Bathroom

Stacie, Stiles and Scott stood next to the bathtub.

Scott pulled the curtain aside.

Liam was lying down in the tub, tied up by duct tape, duct tape covering his mouth. He struggled.

Stacie looked away, sighing, as if thinking, Damn it, Scott

Stiles slowly and awkwardly closed the shower curtain.

Liam struggled more fiercely, begging them to let him out.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Scott's Room

Stiles, Scott and Stacie sat on Scott's bed.

"So, you bit him," Stiles told him.

"Yeah," Scott answered.

"And you kidnapped him," Stiles told him.

"Yeah," Scott answered.

"And you brought him here," Stiles told him.

Scott looked at Stiles. "I panicked."

"Yup," Stiles agreed.

"This isn't gonna end with us burying the pieces of his body out in the desert, is it?" Stacie asked. They could hear Liam's muffled crying from in the bathroom. "We're not gonna tell Natalie about this, are we? 'Cause if you thought she was pissed about you breaking his leg..."

Scott looked at Stacie. "Actually, she wasn't pissed about that."

"Well, if she finds out about this, you're gonna see her pissed about this," Stacie replied, looking at Scott as she finished. "So, no telling Natalie about this."

"As a reminder, this is why Ari always comes up with Plan A, and I always come up with Plan B," Stiles told him. "All of your plans suck. Even Stacie's plans are better than yours."

Stacie looked up with a sarcastic look.

"I know," Scott told them. "I couldn't reach Ari, which is why I called you guys." He looked from Stiles to Stacie. "So, what do we do?"

Stiles looked at Scott and Stacie.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Later

Scott put Liam in a chair in front of his bed.

Stiles and Stacie stood behind Scott.

Liam glared at them.

"Liam, we're going to take the tape off your mouth," Stacie told him. "If you scream, it goes right back on. If you talk quietly, it stays off. Got it?" Liam nodded. "Okay."

Stacie pulled the tape off quickly.

Liam sighed, exhaling deeply in pain.

"Okay, Liam, now you've seen a lot of confusing things tonight," Stiles told him. "And more confusing things are going to happen because of the confusing things that happened tonight. Do you understand?"

"Not really," Liam answered.

"Good," Stiles told him. "That's good."

"I don't understand, either," Scott told them.

Stacie gave Scott a seriously look, looking at Liam. "About the things the confusing things you saw what happened with Scott and Natalie--"

"Is Natalie okay?" Liam asked.

Stiles, Scott and Stacie exchanged a look.

Stacie looked at Liam. "What do you remember about Natalie?"

"Natalie was almost killed by that guy because she was protecting me," Liam answered. "That's it. Does Natalie know about any of this?"

Stacie realized that they could still use Natalie to get to Liam if he didn't believe them then, coming up with a half-lie on quick thinking. "No. Nope, she doesn't know about any of this. She's completely clueless. We don't want her to know, so don't tell her."

Stiles and Scott looked at Stacie in confusion.

Stacie gave them a look for them to play along.

"I don't know anything to tell her," Liam told them, almost angrily.

Stiles looked at Scott, nodding to Liam. "Maybe you should tell him."

"Tell me what?" Liam asked.

"Liam..." Scott trailed off. "What happened to you, what I did to you, which I had to do in order to save you, it's going to change you."

"Unless it kills you," Stiles told him. Scott and Stacie gave him a look. "Shouldn't have said that."

Liam looked down, sniffling.

"What?" Stacie asked. "Uh... Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Is he crying?"

"Liam, it's okay," Scott told him. "You're going to be all right. You're not going to die."

"Probably not," Stiles told him.

"Stiles, stop it," Stacie told him.

"Okay, possibly not," Stiles revised.

"Would you guys just help me untie him?" Scott asked. Stiles, Scott and Stacie started to untie Liam, pulling the tape away. Liam stood, turning away. "Liam? Are you okay? We're sorry about that. We're really sorry."

Liam grabbed the wooden chair, turning around, hitting Scott with it, shattering the wood, making him fall into Scott's bed.

Stacie felt the pain, gasping.

"Liam, what the hell is your--?" Stiles started to ask.

Liam punched Stiles  in the face, making him back away into Stacie.

Stacie could still feel the pain, but not really as much as before, realizing that using Derek as her anchor was working, smiling a small smile, laughing a surprised laugh.

Liam ran out of the room.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Hallway

Liam ran down the hallway, stopping when he realized that his ankle that had been sprained earlier that day was healed.

Stacie, Stiles and Scott ran out of Scott's room into the hallway.

"Get him!" Stacie told them.

Stiles and Scott ran toward Liam, yelling, tackling him into the wall. They fell down the stairs.

Stacie felt the pain, but not nearly as much, putting a hand to the wall to stay standing, exhilarated because she found that it was getting easier to use her anchor, sighing excitedly in relief.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Foyer

Scott, Stiles and Liam were on the floor, struggling.

Stacie ran downstairs, taking a knife from her jacket pocket.

Liam stood.

Stacie stepped in his way of the door, making him stop, holding the knife ready. "I don't wanna hurt you."

"Then why do you have a knife?" Liam asked.

Stacie tilted her head. "Self-defense."

Stiles grabbed Stacie's ankle, pulling, making her fall, thinking she was Liam. "Leg! I got him! I got him, I got him!"

Stacie gave Stiles a look.

Stiles, Stacie and Scott looked up to see that Liam had left, looking toward the open door.

Scott looked at Stiles. "Your plan sucked, too."

"We leave Plan A making to Ari, good?" Stacie asked.

Stiles and Scott nodded. "Good."

Hale Loft - Living Room

The alarm light was flashing, but the alarm was not sounding.

Peter turned the alarm light off. "Derek, you here?" He was holding a stack of papers, walking further into the loft. "Tara?" He was focused on reading a document. A tomahawk was thrown into his chest, pinning the document to the chest, making him drop the other papers. Peter fell to his knees. The Mute stepped out of the shadows. Peter fell to the floor on his back. The Mute stepped closer. Peter was breathing shallowly, gasping for breath in pain. "Derek... Tara..."

The Mute typed into the keyboard on his wrist, making the electronic voice speak for him. "Don't worry, Peter. Derek and Tara are next."

¤•¤°¤•¤

There was a black wolf with red eyes.

Scott looked up. He blinked. When he opened his eyes, they were glowing red.

Scott stood alone in a cloud of dust or smoke, hitting the ground. Tyler Posey.

Stiles stood at a translucent crime board, adding a few things. Dylan O'Brien.

There was a hand held high with a claw on each finger.

Stacie looked straight ahead, holding a crossbow in hand, holding it pointing up in front of her face, looking straight ahead. Zoey Deutch.

Ari and Adriana stood back to back. Ari looked to the left, holding her motorcycle helmet in her hands, the irises of her eyes glowing blue. Adriana looked to the right, tracing her double infinity tattoo on her wrist, her eyes glowing completely purple. There was water sprinkles everywhere as they both looked up. Katherine McNamara.

Scott and Tara kissed passionately, pulling away.

Tara stood with her back toward you, looking over her shoulder, black blood covering her skin, her body reflecting each other. Victoria Justice.

On the back of Tara's hand, a triskele appeared. The spirals were black. The tip of one spiral was Beta blue. The tip of one spiral was Beta gold. The tip of one spiral was Alpha red. The intersection point was purple.

Derek looked up, shirtless, his eyes closed, shifted, roaring. Dust was falling off of his body. Tyler Hoechlin.

On Derek's back, a triskele appeared.

Lydia's hair covered her face, her hands held in front of her. She tossed her head back to get it to fall behind her. Holland Roden.

Natalie sat in a chair, half turned, her left leg to the left side of the chair, her right leg in front of it, her left arm lying on the back of the chair. Her eyes glowed gold. Sasha Pieterse.

A double infinity sign tattoo appeared on Adriana's wrist.

A black wolf howled.

Malia was in the woods, her arms raised at her sides. Shelley Hennig.

Kira was in a fighting stance, holding her katana sword raised ready. Arden Cho.

Angel stood within fire, water and electricity, air blowing through her hair. She had her arms raised to her sides as if taking flight. Her eyes were glowing a dark, fiery gold. Ginny Gardner.

On Scott's arm, two bands appeared, the top band thicker than the other.

The black blood pulled away from Tara's body, almost as it was never there.

Scott stared ahead. His eyes glowed red. He tilted his head toward his chest.

Day Two

Morning - Stilinski House - Stiles' Room

Stiles and Malia were sitting on the bed.

Stiles was attaching chains and restraints to her wrist.

"I  hate full moons," Malia told him.

"It's going to get easier," Stiles told her. "I promise."

"It better," Malia told him. "Because this isn't going to hold much longer."

"Well, then let's try and make tonight the last time we have to use these," Stiles told her. "Besides, we might need them for Liam."

"You guys sure he's going to turn into a Werewolf?" Malia asked.

"We're not even sure if he's going to live," Stiles told her. Sheriff and Stacie walked in, seeing that Stiles was attaching the chains and restraints to Malia. "Is that too tight?"

"No," Malia answered.

Stiles looked at Sheriff and Stacie, seeing that Sheriff thought that they were doing this for something other than the full moon that night. "Hey. Um... That's... This is not what you think at all."

"I don't even want to know," Sheriff told them, walking away.

Stacie turned after him. "There is nothing to know, 'cause he's just..."

"I don't get it," Malia told them.

"Told him that," Stiles told them.

"Not well enough, apparently," Stacie told him, backing away.

"Whoa, wait, Stacie," Stiles told her as if he just remembered something. Stacie turned back. "Stacie, why did you tell Liam that Natalie didn't know the truth?"

"In case anything like this happened," Stacie answered. "Now that he thinks she's as clueless as she looks, he'll trust her. If we can't get to him, then we know that Natalie can."

Stiles pointed at Stacie. "See, Stacie? Your, your plans are as good as Ari's sometimes, Stacie."

Stacie smiled.

Malia and Stacie waved to each other.

Stacie backed away, turning around, walking away.

Beacon Hills High School - Chemistry Classroom

Lydia and Ari were sitting at a desk together.

Adriana was standing behind them.

They looked at the coded messages on Lydia's laptop.

"These are your math notes?" Adriana asked. "No wonder Malia's failing."

"Adriana, some of them are my notes," Lydia told her. "The rest I think might actually be a code, Adri."

"But you don't remember writing it?" Ari asked.

"Not in the slightest, Ari," Lydia answered. "But considering my drawing of a tree led us to the Nemeton, I should probably figure out what it means before it tries to kill us."

"Maybe it's like the Egnima Code the Allies used," Ari told her.

"Ari, I think it's a variation on the Vigenere Cipher," Lydia told her.

Adriana looked between them in confusion. "You two do realize that I don't speak genius, right?" Lydia and Ari looked at Adriana. Adriana looked at the laptop, nodding to the screen. "Do you guys know how to break it?"

"With a key," Ari answered.

"And sorry for speaking in a way that you don't understand, Adriana," Lydia told her. "But, Adri, we need to find that key."

Nicole Martin, Lydia's mother and Ari and Adriana's aunt, stood next to them, holding a key toward them. "Remember the rules. No more than six people allowed in the lake house." She looked around, lowering her voice. "Stay out of the wine." She spoke normally again. "And if anything gets broken, it's getting added to all of your credit card debts." Ari raised her eyebrows. Nicole looked at Adriana and Ari. "Ari, Adriana, with your mom out of town, you both listen to me."

"Fine, Aunt Nicole," Adriana told her.

Lydia reached for the key.

Nicole pulled the key away. "Uh-uh. Ms..."

Lydia, Adriana and Ari finished together. "Martin."

"And lock up the basement," Nicole told them. "From all the scratch marks I found on the walls, it looked like a pack of wild animals got down there."

Lydia, Adriana and Ari smiled awkwardly, taking the key.

Nicole walked away, leaving.

Lydia, Adriana and Ari exchanged a look.

Outside

(Song:) Every Day - Magic Man

Freshmen were arriving to the school on a bus, walking outside.

A teenage boy and a couple were talking together.

The couple contained Garrett as the guy, the lacrosse player that had been boosting Liam's confidence and giving Scott a hard time at practice.

"I'm not watching another movie on a Friday night," Garrett told them. He looked at the boy. "Mason, there's gotta be something going on."

"You remember we're freshmen, right?" Mason asked. "We just got off a school bus. We're not exactly gonna be hitting the clubs till 4:00 AM."

"Okay," the girl told him. "Movie at your place. 9:00."

Mason nodded.

The couple walked away, leaving.

Liam ran up to Mason, breathing heavily.

"Hey, Liam," Mason told him. "Why weren't you on the bus?"

"I ran," Liam answered.

(Song Ends)

"You ran three miles to school?" Mason asked.

"Yeah," Liam answered. "I just started running."

"So, I guess your leg's okay?" Mason asked. He noticed that there was a bandage over Scott's bite. "What happened to your arm?" Liam looked completely overwhelmed and dizzy, breathing heavily, turning away to lean against a railing to calm down. Mason looked at him in concern. "Dude, are you okay?"

Liam looked up.

Scott was across the school lawn, watching Liam.

Liam looked at Mason. "I'll talk to you later. I gotta get to class."

Liam walked away.

Mason looked across the school lawn, but Scott had vanished.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Inside - Hallway

Liam pushed the double doors open, walking inside.

Scott followed him inside.

Liam turned to walk down one side of the hallway.

Stiles walked closer, blocking his way.

Liam turned to walk away in the other direction.

Stacie walked closer, blocking his way.

"Liam, hey," Stiles told him. "We need to talk."

"No, you need to back the hell up, okay?" Liam asked. "All of you."

"Can you just listen for one second?" Stacie asked. "Please?"

Liam nodded.

"Liam..." Scott trailed off. "We're brothers now."

Liam looked at them in confusion. "What?"

"Oh, my God," Stacie told them. "That's..."

"What are you talking about?" Liam asked. "We just met and you bit me."

"The bite..." Scott trailed off. "The bite is a gift."

"Scott, stop," Stiles told him, walking around Stacie and Liam to stand next to Scott. "Please stop." He looked at Liam, pointing at him. "You, you, we're trying to help you, you little runt."

"By kidnapping me?" Liam asked.

"Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped you," Stacie told him. Liam looked at her. "Okay?" Stacie gestured from herself to Stiles. "We aided and abetted."

Liam nodded sarcastically.

"Liam, I've gone through this before," Scott told him. "Something's happening to you. Something big."

"Nothing's happening to me," Liam told them, ripping his bandage off his arm. His bite was completely healed. "Nothing."

Liam backed away.

Scott, Stiles and Stacie exchanged a look.

Outside - Bus Pit

Stiles, Malia, Stacie, Ari, Lydia, Adriana, Scott, Kira, Angel and Natalie were having a pack meeting, standing by the buses. Natalie and Stiles stood next to each other to close the circle.

"I'm not sharing my basement," Malia told them.

Lydia gestured from herself to Ari and Adriana on either side of her. "Actually, it's my basement. And Ari and Adriana's. And my mom noticed how you tore it up last time."

"All right, she's still learning," Stiles told them.

"But we're going to use the boathouse for Liam," Ari told them. "It's got support beams. We can chain him to one of them."

"But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asked.

"I say if it keeps him from murdering someone, we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake," Stacie told them, looking at Natalie meaningfully.

"I'm in," Stiles agreed. Stacie gestured to Stiles. Natalie hit the back of Stiles' head, hurting both Stiles and Stacie for both of their comments, but Stacie didn't feel it as badly. Stiles put his hand to his head. "Ow!"

Stacie smiled, dancing a little bit smugly.

Angel looked at Stacie. "Anything?"

"Barely felt a thing," Stacie answered.

Natalie gave Stacie a halfhearted look. "You just had to find an anchor so damn fast, Stace?" Stacie stood still, nodding. "Stacie, we're not killing or kidnapping him."

"Well, if that's not ironic, I don't know what is," Stacie told them.

"Let's be smarter," Kira told them. "We'll tell him there's a party and invite him. And to do so, we'll have to use the freshmen that we know he likes and the only one out of us he trusts."

They all looked at Natalie.

Natalie looked between them. "Hey, I'm only a freshmen because I got locked in a vault for four months and missed most of school last year. And no way. All of this happened because of me. Not me."

"Yes, you, Natalie," Angel told her. "This is not your fault."

Natalie sighed, tilting her head. "Angel..."

(Song:) The World's Made Up On This and That (Fatboy Slim Remix) - Deeds Plus Thoughts

"You know what they say the name Natalie means?" Ari asked. "The name that leads a spontaneous, mysterious life."

Natalie stammered, a little nervous. "Me?"

Adriana smiled. "You can do it, Natalie. Just 'cause he's a wolf now doesn't change anything. Live a spontaneous, mysterious life."

Natalie gave Adriana a look, looking nervous, sighing. "Adriana..."

Hallway

The school bell rang.

Liam and Mason walked out of classroom into the hallway.

Liam stopped walking, looking at the stairs, stunned.

Mason looked at him in confusion. "Liam. Liam."

Natalie walked down the stairs ahead of them sexily. (slow motion).

Liam looked at Natalie like he couldn't look away, smitten, raising his eyebrows.

Natalie reached the bottom of the stairs, looking at Liam, nodding for him to come closer.

Liam didn't know what to do at first, walking closer. "Hey. Uh... about yesterday... are you okay?"

"Yeah," Natalie answered. "All good." She exhaled. "So, you remember that official first date that we never got to have yesterday?"

Liam nodded, smiling a small smile, like he knew where this was going. "Yeah."

Natalie smiled. "How about a party tonight?"

Liam smiled.

Hale Loft - Living Room

Tara put the tomahawk on the table.

Peter leaned against the table. There was a gaping wound in his chest from the tomahawk.

"The ax was laced with wolfsbane," Derek told them. Tara walked around the table to stand next to Derek in front of Peter. "We don't know the species, so we're going to have to burn it out."

Tara took out her lighter, lighting it.

Peter looked at the flame from the lighter. "Tara, I think I can handle a little fire." Derek and Tara both gave him sarcastic smiles. Derek started the blow torch. "Ah, hell." Derek and Tara started to burn the wolfsbane out, making Peter scream in pain. Peter fell to the floor, breathing heavily. Derek offered Peter a hand. Peter took it, letting him help him up. "He said he was after the two of you."

"How does a guy with no mouth say anything?" Tara asked sarcastically.

Peter picked up the Mute's keyboard, handing it to them. "With this."

Tara's phone vibrated. She pulled it out, looking at the text from Scott.

I need to talk to you.

Peter looked at Tara's phone to the text from Scott.

Tara looked at him in annoyance, turning around, walking out.

Elevator

Tara took the elevator down to the bottom floor of the loft building, on the phone, having been filled in on what had really happened the night before. "No. No, no, no, you did not."

Scott's voice was on the other line. "Tara, I had to. I didn't have a choice."

"No, I get that, Scott," Tara told him. "Believe me, I do, but..."

Scott was on the road, in the backseat of the Jeep, looking up at Stacie and Stiles in the front seats. "I know. Araya."

"She'll come after you when she finds out," Tara told him.

"Tara, how will she find out?" Scott asked.

"She has her ways," Tara told him.

Scott hesitated, sighing. "We need help. And that guy's after you, Tara. He easily got into the loft and almost killed Peter. What's to stop him from doing the real deal to you?"

"I'll be fine," Tara told him.

"How do you know that, Tara?" Scott asked.

"I don't," Tara answered.

Scott sighed. "Okay, but Liam's gonna be hard to reason with, and Natalie's luring him to the Ari, Adriana and Lydia Martin's Lake House." The elevator stopped. The doors opened. "Tara... you want to come to a make-believe party?"

Tara sighed, walking out of the elevator.

Night - On the Road

Natalie's new car drove down the road.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Natalie's Car

Natalie was driving.

Liam was in the passenger seat.

They looked outside to the full moon.

Liam's hearing was very sensitive.

Natalie was guilty about having to lie to him. "It's my friends, Ari, Adriana and Lydia Martin's family lake house. You told me to remind you to thank Adriana, so..."

Natalie laughed nervously.

Liam was having a hard time, breathing heavily. "Can you turn the music down?"

Liam heard the music playing as loud as a cacophony, when in reality, the music was playing very lowly.

Liam seemed to calm down.

"You want me to turn the music up?" Natalie asked, turning it up a little.

Liam looked at a text on his phone from Mason.

Where are you?

Liam looked at Natalie. "Who'd you say was coming to this party?"

"Um... everyone," Natalie told him, obviously hating to have to lie.

Liam responded to the text from Mason.

Martin Lake House - Outside

Scott and Tara were riding on Scott's dirt bike, parking next to Ari's motorcycle. They got off, taking off their helmets. They walked closer to Malia, Adriana, Kira, Angel, Lydia, Ari, Stacie and Stiles.

Ari, Stacie and Stiles walked toward Scott and Tara.

"I just talked to Natalie," Scott told them. "She's on her way. She said it's all going fine."

"It's not that," Ari told them. "We have to tell you something. We asked around about Liam. We know why he got kicked out of his last school."

"This is going to be bad, isn't it, Ari?" Tara asked.

"He kind of got into it with one of his teachers," Stacie told them. "And... The kid's got some serious anger issues." She looked at Tara. "I mean, not Tara serious anger issues, but still serious."

"Stacie, how serious?" Scott asked.

Stiles held out his phone for Scott and Tara to see the picture of the brutalized, shredded, dented, beaten down car, the side of it being carved into and reading: This is your fault. "Well, that's his teacher's car. After he took a crowbar to it."

Liam was in the passenger seat. His breathing became labored. He was trying not to lose control to the full moon, looking angrily at his reflection in the review mirror.

Martin Lake House - Outside

Natalie's car pulled up to the lake house, parking.

Liam and Natalie got out of the car, walking toward the lake house.

"Where is everyone?" Liam asked.

"They're here," Natalie told him. "It's a small party."

"You said everyone was coming," Liam told her.

"They are," Natalie told him. "They're late. And we're early. So we better hurry."

Natalie still looked guilty, slowly linking her arm with Liam's.

Liam looked down, managing a slightly noticeable smile.

They walked up the porch steps.

Inside - Foyer

None of the lights were on.

Tara, Scott, Ari, Adriana, Lydia, Angel, Kira, Malia, Stiles and Stacie were waiting.

Stacie waved.

Liam turned to face Natalie and the door, trying to leave.

Natalie closed the door behind her guiltily. "I'm sorry."

Liam looked at Natalie for a long second, obviously seeing that she was sorry. He looked at the others. "What the hell is this?"

"Think of it like an intervention," Ari told him. "You have a problem, Liam."

Scott took a step forward. "And we're the only ones who can help."

Sheriff's Station - Sheriff's Office

Sheriff and Derek were talking.

Sheriff picked up the keyboard that was attached to the black leather glove. "I still don't get how this guy has no mouth. How can he eat?"

"Peter didn't get a chance to ask," Derek told him. "He was fighting him off with a tomahawk buried in his chest."

Jordan walked in.

"Yeah, and who runs around with a tomahawk?" Sheriff asked.

"I carried one for IED removal in Afghanistan," Jordan told them. "It's military." He pointed to the keyboard glove. "And so is that."

Jordan walked closer.

"Do you know what it's used for?" Derek asked.

"Well, this one looks like it's been modified," Jordan told them.

Sheriff and Derek exchanged a look.

Derek nodded.

Sheriff walked toward the door, closing it, looking at Jordan. "Show us."

Martin Lake House - Living Room

The others had apparently tried to fill Liam in on the supernatural situation.

Liam looked at Natalie, Tara, Scott, Ari and Adriana. "Werewolves." Natalie and Scott nodded. Tara tilted her head in acknowledgement. Ari tilted her head and sighed. Adriana smiled. Liam looked at Malia. "Werecoyote." Malia nodded. Liam looked at Lydia. "Banshee." Lydia pressed her lips together, tilting her head, pointing at him. Liam looked at Kira. "Fox?"

"Kitsune," Kira answered. "But fox works."

Liam looked at Stiles and Stacie. "What are you guys?"

"Um, I'm the thing that keeps Scott, Ari and Stiles alive," Stacie answered. "Painfully so. It's called an anchor."

"And, uh, for a little while, Stacie and I were both possessed by evil spirits," Stiles explained. "They were very evil."

"But we're better now," Stacie told him.

Liam looked at Angel. "What are you, Angel?"

"Honestly, we have no clue," Angel told him. "I've been trying to figure it out, but, um... that's been hard to do without much to go on."

Liam looked at the chains on the table meant for Malia. "Those for me?"

"No," Malia answered. "They're for me."

Malia let her eyes glow blue.

"How did you do that?" Liam asked.

"You'll learn," Scott told him. "But first, you need to get through the full moon."

They could hear Liam's heart beat rising.

"The moon's already out," Liam told them.

"And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?" Tara asked.

"I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nutjobs," Liam told them, getting angry. "You guys are out of your freaking minds." Natalie looked down. Liam looked at Malia. "I don't know how you did that eye thing, and I don't care. I'm walking out the door right now! And if any of you try to stop me, I swear to God, I'm gonna--"

"Liam!" Natalie told him. Liam looked at Natalie, seeming to calm down only slightly. He put his hands over his ears, falling to his knees. "What's wrong, Liam?"

"You don't hear that?" Liam asked.

They could hear cars pulling up to the lake house, kids cheering from outside.

Ari, Adriana and Lydia exchanged a look.

Ari walked toward the windows.

Natalie knelt next to Liam on the floor.

Tara looked toward the windows. "Did you tell someone about this?"

"My friend Mason," Liam answered. He looked at Natalie in front of him. "You said it was a party."

"Ari, who did Mason invite?" Stacie asked.

Ari looked at Adriana and Lydia meaningfully. "Everyone."

Liam's nails shifted into claws. He began to scratch at the floor.

Lydia stepped closer. "The floors! Get him off the floors."

Liam looked up, shifting completely. His eyes were glowing gold. He roared.

Adriana pulled Lydia away from Liam.

"We need to get him to the boathouse now," Natalie told them, standing.

Scott, Tara and Natalie led Liam out of the lake house to take him to the boathouse.

Malia felt the start of the transformation, leaning forward against the table. "Uh! Stiles."

"Yeah?" Stiles asked. Malia turned to him, shifted, letting her eyes blue, roaring. "Hey. Okay. Basement. Now. Now."

Stiles started to get the chains, helping Malia toward the basement door.

"What are we supposed to do with the hordes gathering outside the door?" Adriana asked.

"Adriana, who throws the best parties in Beacon Hills?" Stiles asked.

Adriana gestured to her cousin expressively. "Lydia, duh."

"And who are the most badass redheads in this town?" Stiles asked.

"What?" Adriana asked. She gestured from herself to Ari. "Me and Ari, obviously."

Stacie, Angel, Kira, Stiles and Malia gestured to Ari, Adriana and Lydia.

"Okay, then throw a badass party," Stiles told them, leading Malia to the basement.

Lydia scoffed loudly.

Adriana looked at Stacie. "How do you not strangle him?"

"You three Martins look very pissed at the moment, which is more dangerous than Alphas, Kanimas, Darachs and Nogitsunes put together, so we're just gonna..." Stacie trailed off, backing away, nodding for Angel and Kira to follow her.

"Uh-uh, Stacie, Angel, you're not leaving us alone up here, you are helping us," Lydia told them.

"Okay, then we'll help you," Kira told them.

Angel nodded to the door. "Let's throw a party."

Stacie, Adriana, Ari, Lydia, Kira and Angel stood at the door.

Ari opened it.

Mason, Garrett and Garrett's girlfriend were in front of at least, if not more, 50 students.

"Hey," Mason told them. "Are we in the right place?"

"For the party?" Garrett asked.

Ari tilted her head, forcing a smile. "Absolutely."

Everyone cheered.

Stacie, Adriana, Ari, Lydia, Kira and Angel stepped aside to let them in.

Adriana looked at Stacie. "Stacie, if we make it through tonight, I'm so gonna kill you. Fair warning, Stace."

Stacie had a look that said, Uh-oh.

Jordan was sitting at the desk, typing on the computer.

Sheriff and Derek stood behind him, watching.

"Okay, I think I got an IP address," Jordan told them.

"That means we can find him, right?" Sheriff asked.

"Definitely," Jordan answered. "Especially if..."

The glove moved on its own.

"What was that?" Derek asked.

"I think I found a message," Jordan told them. "Does anyone recognize the handle 'Benefactor'?"

Another message popped up.

"Money transferred," Derek told them. "What does that mean?"

"That means this guy is not just a killer," Sheriff answered. "He's an assassin."

Martin Lake House - Boathouse

Scott, Natalie and Tara tried to deal with the out of control Liam, trying to get him chained to the support beam.

Scott and Tara held his arms back.

Scott looked at Natalie. "We got him, get his hands."

Liam snarled at them, pushing Scott and Tara to the floor, kneeling above Scott.

Natalie stood from behind the beam, looking around.

Tara rolled to a standing position.

Liam raised his arm to slash Scott's throat.

Natalie took a boat oar, using it to hit Liam in the head hard enough to make him fall unconscious. She dropped the oar, kneeling on one side of Liam.

Scott and Tara knelt on the other side of Liam.

"Oh, my God," Natalie told them. "I didn't kill him, did I?"

Tara looked at Liam's unconscious, human face, hearing his breathing. "No. He's out cold."

They all relaxed for a second.

"I hope Stiles is having better luck," Scott told them.

They sighed.

Martin Lake House - Basement

Stiles was dealing with Malia's transformation, chaining Malia up. "Too tight?"

Malia looked up, completely shifted, but not out of control. "Tighter." Stiles tightened the chains, standing, backing away. Malia nodded. "You can leave if you want."

"I'm not going anywhere," Stiles told her. "And to be honest, I'm probably safer down here than in a party with fifty freshmen and very pissed off Ari, Adriana and Lydia Martin."

Lydia and Ari were unbelievably busy at the party, making sure nothing got broken or stained.

Adriana was partying, dancing with a guy to the electronic music.

Angel was getting Kira to dance with her, smiling.

Kitchen

Ari walked into the kitchen.

Stacie stopped her. "Ari, take a beat. Seriously, what's with you guys?"

"I'll tell you later," Ari told her.

"Okay, before that, we need to experiment something together," Stacie told her.

Ari gave her a weird look. "Is this experiment gonna be super weird?"

Stacie hesitated, tilting her head. "Maybe, but it's an experiment we need to get over and done with before our first game. I wanna make sure that the pain wasn't just a fluke with Scott and Stiles. I wanna make sure it works for you too."

"Stacie, if it works for Scott and Stiles, I'm pretty sure it'll work for me," Ari told her.

"Well, excuse me for wanting to be thorough, Miss Thorough-ness," Stacie told her sarcastically. Ari smirked. Stacie handed her a knife. Ari looked at her. "Go ahead."

"Stace, don't you want something a little less painful?" Ari asked.

"Ari, I wanna check if it works with the most painful thing we can do in the middle of the party," Stacie answered. She held up her hands. "Unless what you're trying to say is that you can't handle the pain." Ari tilted her head at the taunt, slicing a clean line into the palm of her hand, inhaling sharply. Stacie looked at her hand, feeling the pain, but not as badly. She laughed excitedly, looking at Ari. "Oh, my God. Yes!"

Stacie embraced Ari tightly, happy.

Ari couldn't help a smile, returning the embrace. "So, Derek helped you find an anchor fast."

They pulled away.

"How long did it take you and Scott to find an anchor?" Stacie replied. "Like, half a day. Even less time to learn how to control the shift unless it was a full moon like tonight."

"True," Ari allowed. "What is it for you, Stacie?" Stacie tilted her head, lowering her gaze with a secretive but smug look. Ari smiled a small smile. "Should've guessed."

"Yeah..." Stacie trailed off. They both felt pain through Adriana, putting a hand to their stomachs, groaning slightly. "Okay, that I felt pretty badly. Thanks, Adri."

Adriana walked into view, standing next to them. "I guess it only works if you know the pain is coming and you're prepared for it. But if it comes as a surprise..."

Stacie nodded sarcastically. "Thanks, Adriana."

A delivery guy walked in with a keg on a dolly.

Garrett was nearby, grabbing a bottle of wine.

Ari looked at the delivery guy's name tag. "Demarco, I didn't order a keg of beer."

"Neither did I," Adriana told them. She tilted her head. "None of us did."

Lydia walked in from behind them, tilting in her head. "Especially not domestic."

"Somebody ordered it," Demarco told them. He looked around. "Are you trying to tell me no one here wants a drink?"

Lydia looked at the glass of wine on her laptop, picking it up. "Who put this here?" She closed the laptop, putting the glass on the kitchen island counter. "This laptop is $2,000." She looked at Garrett, who was drinking from their bottle of wine. Lydia took it from him forcefully. "That bottle of wine is 400."

Lydia took a step back next to Adriana, Stacie and Ari, handing Adriana the wine.

Adriana took the wine. "Our moms are gonna kill us."

Lydia nodded. Adriana took a drink of wine.

Stacie gave them a weird look, rolling her eyes, walking out of the kitchen.

Ari sighed, looking at Demarco. "How much?" Demarco handed Ari a receipt. Ari looked it over, seeing an added sum of $100. "What's this extra $100?"

"I call that the 'Yes, you do look 21 to me' surcharge," Demarco answered, winking at them.

Adriana sighed, rolling her eyes, walking toward the other counter, putting the bottle of wine down.

Lydia looked toward where Mason was walking upstairs, holding up a finger toward Demarco. "Let me get you some cash."

Lydia walked out of the kitchen, following Mason upstairs.

Adriana looked out into the living room, seeing a couple guys using a lamp as a ball. "Hey, no, no, no!"

Adriana walked out of the kitchen, leaving.

Garrett looked at Ari, walking closer. "I opened the wine. I should probably pay for the keg."

Garrett took out wallet, pulling out some cash, handing it to Demarco.

Demarco let the keg slide off the dolly, walking out, leaving.

Ari looked at Garrett. "That was nice. Thanks. But you know you didn't have to do that."

Garrett shrugged. "The least I could do if you're gonna get killed. By your guys' moms."

Ari scoffed, looking away, giving Garrett a suspicious look, walking out, leaving.

Garrett watched Ari go, smirking.

Liam was chained to the beam, unconscious.

Natalie, Scott and Tara sat nearby, watching him.

"He looks so young," Tara told them.

"He is," Natalie told her. "He's only 15."

"What are we going to do with him?" Scott asked.

Tara looked at him. "We're going to help him." She looked at Natalie. "Like we helped both of you, and Ari, and Isaac... Erica." She gave Natalie a look. "Boyd."

Natalie looked at Liam sadly. "What if he doesn't want our help?"

"He will," Tara told her.

Scott looked at Tara. "Tara, are you scared?" Tara looked at him. "About the guy that killed Sean? The guy that tried to kill Peter, who's after you and Derek?"

"No," Tara answered. "We've dealt with worse. And you? Are you scared? About Araya?"

Scott hesitated, shaking his head in a lie. "No."

"You remember I can hear your heart beat rising when you lie, right?" Tara asked.

Scott smiled a small smile. "Cheater."

They looked at Liam.

Martin Lake House - Basement

Malia was still chained up, shifted, struggling against her restraints.

Stiles watched her worriedly.

"Stiles, please go," Malia told him.

"It's okay," Stiles told her. "I hate parties. It's a social anxiety thing. You ever had a panic attack?"

"I'm having one right now," Malia told him, struggling.

"Just breathe, okay?" Stiles asked. "I'm not going to leave you."

"What if I hurt you?" Malia asked.

"You're not going to," Stiles told her.

"But I want to," Malia told him, clawing toward him. "I look at your face, and I want to slash at it. I want to tear at it. I want to feel your bones crack between my hands."

"Surprisingly enough, you're not the first person to ever say something like that," Stiles told her. "I'm not leaving you. And I'm not going to let you hurt anyone."

Malia pulled one arm free. "You're not going to have a choice."

Outside

Demarco walked toward his car, taking out his keys. He saw that his tires were slashed. "Oh, come on. You got to be kidding me." He dropped the dolly. "Son of a bitch. Son of a..." He grew claws and canines. His eyes started to glow gold. He grunted, growling. He took several deep breaths, beginning to chant. "Three thing cannot be long hidden. The sun, the moon, the truth. Three things cannot be long hidden. The sun, the moon, the truth. Three thing cannot be long hidden. The sun, the moon, the truth." He returned to normal, falling to his knees from exertion that it took to keep control on the full moon. "The sun, the moon, the truth."

Garrett's girlfriend came up behind Demarco, looping a chain/wire around his neck, pulling tight. Demarco struggled. Garrett's girlfriend pulled the wire tighter, pushing a silver broach attached to it.

The wire began to glow rd.

Demarco's neck began to smoke.

Within seconds, his head was detached from his body.

The headless body fell to the ground.

Garrett's girlfriend snapped a picture with her phone, walking away from the body.

Garrett smiled. "Hey, Violet."

Angel tilted her head. "Uh-oh. It's the party police. I'm having fun for the first time in a while. Why don't you just let me enjoy it?"

Upstairs Study

Angel and Kira walked inside.

Angel sat down.

Kira handed her a water bottle. "Here." Angel started to drink. Kira noticed that Angel had a bandage on her leg from when the Berserkers had attacked her in 4.02 200. "You still haven't healed from that?"

"I don't know what it is," Angel told her. "I don't think I can heal like you, Kira. I don't know if I can heal like the wolves and the fox."

"Or maybe you will be able to, Angel, but not yet," Kira told her. "Remember, Derek and Tara said that sometimes when you're born a supernatural being, it takes a certain age to get all of your abilities."

"Like you," Angel told her. "You said that your fox aura started to show up in pictures just a few months before you moved to Beacon Hills."

Kira nodded in agreement. "Right."

"So, you stopped your parents from having an open house to sell your house last night," Angel told her. "You really think that you can stop them from moving you all the way back to New York?"

"I don't know, Angel," Kira told her sadly. "But I gotta try."

"I think that you and I both know that the only way to stop them from moving you back there is to stop hanging out with me," Angel told her.

"That's not true, Angel," Kira told her.

"Then what other way is there?" Angel asked. Kira didn't answer. Angel sighed. "Let me know when you find another way."

Angel started to back away. Kira grabbed her arm to stop her. They looked at each other for a moment, kissing slowly and softly. After a moment, they pulled away.

Lydia walked in to put two glasses of wine, stopping when she saw them. "Oh, my God. I'm sorry."

Angel backed away from Kira, toward Lydia, without looking. "No, it's okay. We were just--"

Angel bumped into Lydia, making her drop the wine, cringing.

Lydia knelt to the floor. "Oh, my God. The carpet. No, God, no."

Lydia started to scrub at the wine stain.

Angel and Kira knelt next to her.

"I'm so sorry," Angel told her.

"Hey, it's all right," Kira told her. "It'll come out."

"Was it valuable?" Angel asked.

"No," Lydia answered. "That's the problem. Nothing in here's valuable." She looked up sadly. "We just put the house on the market. It was supposed to be left without a scratch. It has to be in perfect condition. We need every penny we can get out of this place."

"That's why you and Ari and Adriana were so upset," Kira realized.

Lydia nodded. "Yeah."

"Okay, let me go get some club soda and salt," Angel told her. "Lydia, it'll come out. It will." Lydia nodded. "Okay."

Angel stood, walking out, leaving.

Kira hesitated, following Angel, closing the door.

(Song Ends)

Lydia noticed that she couldn't hear the music anymore, looking up in confusion, standing, walking closer, opening the door. She could hear the music. She closed the door. She couldn't hear the music. She opened the door. She could hear the music. She closed the door. She couldn't hear the music. She looked around in confusion. "Soundproof?"

Lydia looked around the room, walking over to the red record player, turning it on.

The needle rose, finding its way to the record, dropping.

A peculiar kind of white noise came from the speakers.

Lydia looked up at the wall in front of her, seeing faces moving behind the wall.

The faces seemed to push against the white wall, mouths opening and closing as if speaking.

Lydia stared transfixed.

Boathouse

Liam was chained to the beam.

Natalie, Scott and Tara sat nearby, watching.

Natalie turned her head toward the lake house.

"What are you hearing?" Tara asked.

"The music from the house," Natalie answered. "It's electronic."

Tara sighed, shaking her head. "I don't know what the big deal is about dance music. Most of the songs sound like a train wreck." Scott chuckled, crossing his legs, looking at Tara. "But there's still some I like. I like slow songs better, though."

"Why do you like the slow ones?" Scott asked.

"Because they don't sound like a train wreck," Tara answered, chuckling.

Scott smiled. "Tara, have you ever actually danced with someone, either to an electronic or slow song?"

Tara looked at him. "I've been an angry, insane and violent psychopath for the past six years with anger, trust, abandonment and intimacy issues." Scott chuckled at the exact words either Stiles or Stacie, or both, had used to describe her multiple times. Natalie smiled halfheartedly. "What do you think?"

"Come here," Scott told her, standing.

"Scott..." Tara trailed off in complaint.

Scott smiled, taking Tara by the hand, leading her to the edge of the boathouse above the water, far enough away that Natalie didn't have to listen if she didn't want to. "Tara..."

"Scott," Tara repeated.

Scott looked at Tara with a look like he wasn't gonna give up. "Tara. You said no more pushing this away, remember? You promised."

"I'm not pushing this away," Tara replied.

"Then dance with me," Scott told her.

Tara sighed in defeat, smiling a little, rolling her eyes.

They stood above the water.

The reflection of the moon was shining toward them from the surface.

Scott looked at his phone, pulling up the music app, playing a slow song.

(Song:) Us - Movement

Scott put his phone on the dock's nearest post, standing in front of Tara.

Tara looked at Liam and Natalie. "What about them?"

Scott looked at Liam and Natalie. "They can dance with us next time." Tara chuckled. Scott put his arms around her waist. Tara slowly put hers around his neck. They started to sway, dance to the slow music. "Sometimes I forget how hard it is on trying to stay in control on a full moon, Tara. How much concentration it takes to keep my heart beat from getting too high... But you... You've mastered it."

"Anyone can lose control," Tara told him. "Cora, Natalie, Boyd... Adriana, when she was consumed by the darkness when Adriana was an Alpha. As long as you concentrate hard enough, it shouldn't be a problem. But you know that."

"So, Tara, if something distracts you, you can lose control like everyone else?" Scott asked, kissing her cheek, pulling away.

Tara smirked. "I'm indistractable." Scott raised his eyebrows as if to ask oh, really? He leaned closer to kiss her, pulling away. Tara smiled a small smile, shaking her head. Scott leaned even closer, brushing his lip against her ear. Tara took a quiet, deep breath, trying not to show a reaction. She shook her head. "Nothing."

Scott used her words from earlier against her now, whispering them in her ear. "You remember I can hear your heart beat rising when you lie, right?"

Tara repeated his single word he had told her then. "Cheater."

They chuckled, looking at each other, smiling small smiles.

(Song Ends)

Natalie stood slowly, backing away from Liam.

Liam woke, growling, shifting, letting his eyes glow gold, looking toward them.

Natalie looked over her shoulder toward Scott and Tara. "Uh, guys?"

Scott and Tara let go.

"Are those chains going to hold him?" Scott asked.

"Depends on how strong he is," Tara answered.

"He can't be that strong, right?" Natalie asked.

Liam broke free, running closer to them.

Natalie, Scott and Tara ducked out of the way.

Liam broke through the window, running away outside.

Scott, Tara and Natalie turned to look through the broken window.

Malia was struggling with her chains, shifted, letting her eyes glow blue.

Stiles watched worriedly.

Malia's restraints were tearing further until she broke one arm free.

Stiles jumped back.

Malia slashed her free arm toward Stiles, but couldn't reach him with her other arm still chained up.

"Okay, Malia, I know you can hear me," Stiles told her. "Just listen to my voice."

Malia's voice was distorted. "Listen to mine. Run!"

Malia continued to try and pull free.

Beacon Hills High School - Hallway

Sheriff and Derek walked in.

Sheriff looked around with a flashlight and a gun.

"You know, just because this guy connected to the school's WiFi doesn't mean he's still here," Derek told him.

"True," Sheriff told him. "But I've seen enough in this school to keep my gun in my hand when walking in after dark." There was a moment of silence. "I never did thank you." Derek looked at him. "For helping Adriana save Stacie from her Nogitsune."

"You don't have to thank me for saving Stacie, Sheriff," Derek told him.

"Yes, I do," Sheriff told him. "Stacie told me that you've been helping her. Find an anchor so Stacie can control the pain she feels. That you're gonna be teaching her how to fight so she can defend herself. I know Stacie means something to you. I would like to say that I disapprove. But she seems to be safe when she's around you. Safe enough, I hope, to where Stacie won't get hurt. By you or anyone else."

Derek nodded. "I won't let anything hurt Stacie."

Sheriff nodded.

They continued to walk.

Sheriff saw a pool of blood coming from beneath a door. "Blood."

"That doesn't make sense," Derek told him.

Sheriff looked around. "Yeah, no kidding."

"That's not what I mean," Derek told him, looking around. "I should've caught the scent before we walked in."

Derek went to open the door the blood was coming from.

"Hold on," Sheriff told him. "You nervous makes me nervous."

Sheriff slowly opened the door, seeing that it was attached to a wire.

Derek looked inside to a bomb. "It's an explosive. A claymore." Sheriff closed his eyes, sighing. Derek sensed something, turning to look behind them. "Get down!"

Derek grabbed Sheriff, pulling him away from the door.

A tomahawk was thrown into the wall where they had been.

The Mute jumped down from the stairs, standing.

Derek faced him.

The Mute ran closer.

Martin Lake House - Basement

Malia was still struggling with her chains, shifted.

Stiles stepped closer, but kept his distance. "I'm not going to run. Because I don't think you're going to hurt me. And I think that maybe you're so afraid of hurting me because of what you did to your family." Malia looked at him sadly, hesitating, continuing to struggle. "I know what that's like. I remember everything I did. And the worst part is I remember liking it. Because I felt powerful. I felt fearless. And most of all, in control. But when I came through it, I learned something else." Malia looked at him, breathing heavily. "Control is overrated." Stiles hesitated, reaching to unlock the chains on Malia. Malia jumped to attack him, but almost instantly returned to fully human form. Stiles and Malia looked at each other, stunned that that had worked. Malia was emotional, crying. Stiles brushed back her damp hair. "You did it."

Stiles and Malia embraced.

Woods

Liam was leaping through the woods, fully shifted, his eyes glowing gold.

Natalie was running through the woods, following Liam's scent, trying to find him.

Tara and Scott were following, trying to catch up, because Natalie had gotten the head start.

Natalie stopped running when the trail ended, looking around in confusion. She heard Liam growl from behind her, turning around.

Liam ran closer, tackling Natalie down the hill, kneeling over her, slashing at her, pushing her against the tree behind her.

Natalie held him away at arm's length. "Liam... Liam, wait." Liam tried to bite toward her. Tara and Scott were still running closer. "Stop. Liam!"

Scott and Tara ran into view, looking toward them.

Liam raised his arm to slash Natalie's throat.

Scott and Tara ran toward them.

"No!" Tara told him.

"Stop!" Scott told him.

An arrow whooshed past Scott and Tara, hitting the tree above Natalie and Liam, the flashbolt exploding.

Liam screamed, letting Natalie go, covering his eyes, standing, running away.

Natalie looked after him.

Scott and Tara reached Natalie's side.

Scott held his hand toward Natalie. Natalie took it, letting him help her up.

Natalie, Scott and Tara looked toward the shooter to see Chris Argent walking closer.

Chris had a crossbow and a full beard, walking closer, standing in front of them.

"How did you know?" Tara asked.

Chris smiled a small smile. "I got Ari's message."

Natalie, Scott, Tara and Chris smiled small smiles.

Beacon Hills High School - Hallway

Sheriff was thrown into the wall of lockers, falling to the floor.

The Mute tried to punch Derek. Derek ducked. The Mute swung a tomahawk toward him. Derek backed away enough to make him miss. The Mute slashed toward him again. Derek ducked, grabbing the Mute, slamming him against the lockers, turning around to throw him to the floor. The Mute stood. Derek ran closer, kicking him in the chest, making him back into the wall. The Mute tried to slash the tomahawk into him. Derek caught his arm, twisting it, making him drop the ax, kicking him in the stomach, kneeing him in the back, restraining him from behind.

Sheriff stood, aiming a gun at the Mute. "You have the right to remain silent." The Mute glared at him. "Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law." Sheriff walked around the Mute to stand next to Derek, handcuffing him. "You have the right to an attorney." Peter walked in from down the hallway. "If you cannot afford one..."

Derek saw Peter. "No." Peter ran closer. "No, Peter, no!" Derek grabbed Sheriff, pulling him out of Peter's way so he wouldn't get hurt in the process. Peter tackled the Mute to the floor, slashing into him in a frenzy, splattering himself in blood, killing the Mute. He smiled at the thrill of the kill, looking at a bloody piece of the Mute in his bloodstained hand, dropping it, standing. Sheriff aimed his gun at Peter. Peter shook his head, turning around. Derek glared at him. "We've learned a better way."

Peter started to walk away. "I'm a creature of habit."

Peter walked away, leaving.

Derek and Sheriff watched him go in anger.

Sheriff lowered his gun.

Woods

Natalie, Scott, Tara and Chris were talking.

"There's a clearing just north of here," Chris told them. "All you have to do is corral him there. The rest is taken care of."

"What are you going to do?" Scott asked.

"He's your Beta, Scott," Chris told him. He looked at Natalie. "You're the one he trusts most, Natalie. The better question is 'What are the two of you going to do?'"

"He won't listen to me," Scott told them.

Tara looked at him. "He will if you start using your own words."

"Then what am I supposed to do?" Natalie asked. "I'm not his Alpha."

"No, but you're going to be the one he'll listen to most," Tara told her. "Just like he listened to you earlier in the house. If you use your own past to help him."

Natalie looked down, sighing, looking up again. "Yeah, well, my past is a very bad one. You know that, Tara."

"Which is what's going to help most of all," Tara told her.

Liam's screaming made them turn their heads in the direction he screamed from, behind Natalie, Scott and Tara.

"Here," Chris told them quietly, handing Scott the button to stop the ultrasonic emitters. "Go."

Natalie and Scott turned around, running toward the clearing.

Tara looked at Chris.

Tara and Chris nodded to each other.

Tara slowly turned around, walking away in the direction of Liam, Natalie and Scott.

Clearing

Liam was surrounded by the emitters.

Natalie and Scott walked closer.

Scott hit the button to stop them.

Liam stopped screaming, lowering his hands to the ground. He looked at them in guilt and shame, confusion and fear. "What's happening to me?"

Natalie sighed. "The same thing that happened to both of us."

Martin Lake House - Living Room

(Song:) Do You Like What You See - Lizi Kay

Stacie was looking around the party. "Angel? Ari? Angel? Has anyone seen Adriana? Angel? Or Lydia? Angel?"

No one answered.

Stacie looked around at the party in annoyance, walking upstairs.

Study

Lydia was still listening to the white noise on the record player, looking at the wall, transfixed.

Stacie walked in. "Hey. Lydia? Where're Angel, Ari and Adriana?" She walked closer. "Are you okay?" Lydia didn't answer. Stacie saw that the record player was spinning. She couldn't hear anything, but she knew that Lydia could. "What do you hear?"

"The key," Lydia answered. "The key to break the code."

Stacie looked at her in confusion.

Woods

Liam was still kneeling down.

Natalie knelt in front of Liam.

Scott stood behind Natalie.

Tara stood at the edge of the clearing, leaning against a tree.

Chris stood a few feet behind her.

Liam looked at the ground. "They can't know about this. My mom, my stepdad. I can't do this to them again."

"What do you mean, again?" Natalie asked.

"I got kicked out of school... and I deserved it," Liam answered. "The way they looked at me when they saw what I did to that car..."

"Liam, it's okay," Natalie told him.

"They can't see me like this," Liam told them. "Like..."

Liam couldn't finish, sobbing quietly.

"Like a monster?" Natalie finished.

Liam nodded barely.

Scott stood even taller behind Natalie. "You're not a monster. You're a Werewolf." Liam looked at Scott. Scott let his eyes glow red. "Like us."

Liam looked at Natalie.

Natalie let her eyes glow gold.

Liam didn't seem so scared anymore, seeing them like this.

Natalie let the glow fade from her eyes, managing a small, reassuring smile.

Lydia's laptop beeped as the notes the coded notes reached its end.

The bottom of the screen read C // KEYWORD: with a rectangle next to it for the key.

The girls looked at the list of names in confusion.

"What is this?" Angel asked.

"It's a list of anyone who has a link to the supernatural in Beacon Hills," Adriana answered.

Stacie might not have been supernatural, but she had one hell of a strong link to it--Scott and Ari, being their anchor.

None of them moved. None of them even blinked.

"It's a dead pool," Lydia told them.

Ari hesitated. "And we're all on it."

4.05 "I.E.D" Trailer

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in the loft, Derek was teaching Stacie how to fight, pinning her lightly against the floor, kneeling over her. "Don't get distracted."

"So... any other moves you wanna show me?" Stacie asked.

Derek smiled, taking both of her hands, helping her stand.

Kira: (voice over) "Next on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in the Sheriff's Station, Scott, Stacie, Ari and Stiles showed Sheriff the dead pool.

"It's a dead pool," Scott told him. "A hit list of supernatural creatures."

Ari nodded. "Someone who wants all the supernaturals in Beacon Hills dead."

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in Stiles' room, Stiles and Stacie stood at a Plexiglas murder board.

Stiles wrote across the board, 'The Benefactor'. He drew an outline of a human head, drawing a question mark where the face should have been.

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in Coach's office, Scott, Stiles, Stacie and Ari were talking.

"Guys, these are professional killers," Stacie told them. "It's their profession."

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in Coach's classroom, Stacie was looking at crime scene photos.

Stiles: (voice over from 4.05 I.E.D) "One of them's got a thermo-cut wire that cuts heads off."

Stacie looked at Scott, Stiles and Ari. "It's a lacrosse player."

Ari blinked. "The killer's on the team."

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", on the lacrosse field, Scott, Stacie and Kira were sitting on the bench. Ari stood behind them. They were in lacrosse uniforms.

Ari looked at Stacie. "Nervous?"

Stacie was tapping the lacrosse stick against the ground. "About someone trying to kill us? Or about me playing my first game? Or worried if I'm still useless enough to get both of you and Stiles killed?"

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", outside the school, Adriana looked at a teenage boy curiously, suspicious.

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in the boys' locker room, Ari and Adriana held Liam under the shower water to calm him down. Liam was shifted, growling.

Ari looked at Liam. "I.E.D? You're literally an I.E.D?"

Stiles looked at Scott. "You gave powers to a walking time bomb."

From 4.05 "I.E.D.", in the lacrosse field, Scott, Stiles, Ari, Stacie and Liam stood on the field.

Scott looked at Liam. "You're the one he's after."
