chapter 10 - Monstrous
Outfits in the external link
From 1.10 "Co-Captain", in the basement of the Hale House, Peter turned to face Young Tara.
Ari: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"
From 1.12 "Master Plan", in the living room of the Hale House, Peter held his claws to Kate's throat. "Say you're sorry for leaving me to burn."
From 1.06 "Heart Monitor", in Peter's hospital room, Peter was sitting his his wheelchair. Burns covered half his face.
Tara sat on the bed in front of him. "If you can her me, I need you to give me a sign."
From 4.07 "Weaonized", in the Hale Vault, Stiles put a hand on her shoulder. "Malia."
Malia instinctively grabbed Stiles' wrist, looking at him coldly in betrayal, pushing his hand away, reaching for the paper on the floor, standing, walking toward Scott and Tara. She pushed the paper to Tara's chest.
Tara looked down at the last third of the dead pool. She let Scott go, taking a step away, turning away, looking at the name 'Malia Hale' on the list.
From 4.08 "Time of Death", in Tara's room, Scott stood in the doorway, talking to Tara. "I'm an idiot. I admit it. I couldn't die with you hating me."
Tara sighed, looking down. "I don't hate you. But I'm still angry."
From 4.09 "Perishing Angel", in the loft, Tara was sitting on the steps.
Derek walked closer. "Just give Scott a break, okay?"
From 4.09 "Perishing Angel", in the burning car, Fire touched Angel's skin.
Angel opened her glowing, deep gold fiery eyes.
The fire burned across her entire body, making her scream in agony.
The flames completely consumed both Jordan and Angel.
From 4.09 "Perishing Angel", in the Sheriff's Station,Angel was not dead, covered in soot, dressed in the barest remains of her burned clothing, opening the glass double doors, walking inside, grabbing a deputy's jacket from nearby, wrapping it around her body.
Angel: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "I don't get it."
Jordan walked in, covered in soot, dressed in the barest remains of his burned clothing, walking toward Haigh angrily in a rage for trying to kill him and his niece.
Angel: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "Before the fire, I couldn't heal like this, but now..."
From 4.09 "Perishing Angel", in flashback at the lake house, Meredith walked in.
Ari: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "Our grandmother found Meredith."
From 4.09 "Perishing Angel", in the basement of Eichen House, Stiles, Adriana, Lydia and Stacie were restrained to two support beams.
Stiles and Lydia were restrained to one, back to back.
Adriana and Stacie were restrained to another, back to back.
The beams were close together, to where Lydia and Adriana were facing each other, only a small distance apart.
Adriana: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "That bitch stabbed me with a dagger dipped in wolfsbane. It took my strength away."
While Stiles, Lydia and Stacie were merely tied up, Adriana was chained up.
Lydia: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "And if it reaches your heart..."
Brunski stabbed the syringe into Adriana's neck, making her gasp, injecting her with more wolfsbane.
Adriana: (voice over from 4.09 Perishing Angel) "Then I'm as good as dead."
Brunski brought the needle to Stacie's neck.
Jordan shot Brunski, making him fall to the floor. He got the others free.
Brunski was dying. "She was controlling me."
Brunski looked to the side, taking his last breath, dying.
Lydia looked up in realization. "He's not the Benefactor."
Meredith stepped into view. "He wasn't on my list." The others were in complete shock and surprise and denial. "But he was a bad person."

Same Night - Day One
Night - Beacon Hills High School - Outside
Brett and a fellow Werewolf, a girl with blonde hair, were running through the pouring rain at the school, being pursued by assassins with crossbows.
The girl ran into a chainlink fence, holding onto it. She was breathing heavily, turning to look behind her.
Brett ran closer.
The girl ran away. She was tripped by a trap, falling to the ground.
Brett helped her up. "Get up, Lori. Come on. Run! Run!" Brett and Lori started to run. An arrow shot into Brett's shoulder, making him groan in pain and stop running. Brett looked at Lori. "Go!"
Lori ran away.
Brett pulled the arrow out of his shoulder.
An arrow whizzed toward him.
Brett backed away enough to make it miss.
An assassin ran toward Brett. Brett pushed him into the chain link fence. The assassin tried to hit him with his crossbow. Brett ducked. The assassin kicked him back into the bus behind him, making him fall to his knees. Brett looked up, letting his eyes glow gold. The assassin tried to hit him with his crossbow. Brett raised an arm to block the move, standing, kicking him in the stomach, making him back away, throwing him into the chain link fence, making him fall. He ran away after Lori.

Lacrosse Field
Brett and Lori ran onto the lacrosse field.
"Lori, stop!" Brett told her.
Lori stopped, turning back.
Brett ran toward her, taking her by the hand.
The lights around them turned on one by one.
Brett and Lori looked around.
Several red laser sites shone onto Brett and Lori's chests.
"Brett?" Lori asked. "Brett, what's happening?"
"Close your eyes," Brett told her.
Lori closed her eyes, holding tightly onto his arm, starting to cry.
An arrow shot toward them.
Angel arrived, holding out her skateboard to shield them, making the arrow pierce through, but not letting it get to Brett.
Brett and Lori looked at Angel in shock.
"Run!" Angel told them.
Brett and Lori ran away, leaving.
An arrow soared toward Angel.
Kira arrived, slashing her katana through the arrow to destroy it.
Angel turned to face her in shock.
Kira looked at Angel, breathing heavily.
"When did you get back?" Angel asked.
"Just now, Angel," Kira answered. "Angel, how did you know they'd be here?"
"I didn't," Angel told her. "I never left."
Kira smiled.
Angel smirked.
An arrow shot toward Kira.
Angel flipped over Kira, landing on the other side. An arrow was about to enter her chest into her heart when she caught it between the palms of her hands. (slow motion)
Kira turned around.
Several more arrows shot closer.
Kira slashed her katana through them, destroying them.
The assassins ran out of ammo, running away.
Angel stood, turning to face Kira.
Kira smiled breathlessly. "Angel, I heard about what happened to you. I tried to get here as fast as I could."
Kira and Angel started to kiss passionately in the pouring rain.

Scott looked up. He blinked. When he opened his eyes, they were glowing red.

Ari and Adriana stood back to back. Ari looked to the left, holding her motorcycle helmet in her hands, the irises of her eyes glowing blue. Adriana looked to the right, tracing her double infinity tattoo on her wrist, her eyes glowing completely purple. There was water sprinkles everywhere as they both looked up. Katherine McNamara.
Scott and Tara kissed passionately, pulling away.
Tara stood with her back toward you, looking over her shoulder, black blood covering her skin, her body reflecting each other. Victoria Justice.
On the back of Tara's hand, a triskele appeared. The spirals were black. The tip of one spiral was Beta blue. The tip of one spiral was Beta gold. The tip of one spiral was Alpha red. The intersection point was purple.
Derek looked up, shirtless, his eyes closed, shifted, roaring. Dust was falling off of his body. Tyler Hoechlin.
On Derek's back, a triskele appeared.
Lydia's hair covered her face, her hands held in front of her. She tossed her head back to get it to fall behind her. Holland Roden.
Natalie sat in a chair, half turned, her left leg to the left side of the chair, her right leg in front of it, her left arm lying on the back of the chair. Her eyes glowed gold. Sasha Pieterse.

A black wolf howled.

On Scott's arm, two bands appeared, the top band thicker than the other.
The black blood pulled away from Tara's body, almost as it was never there.
Scott stared ahead. His eyes glowed red. He tilted his head toward his chest.

McCall House - Living Room
Liam and Natalie were sitting on the couch.
Scott walked toward Liam and Natalie. "Angel and Kira found Brett." Liam and Natalie stood. Scott walked past. "They're fine, but we gotta go. Natalie, you're driving."
"Okay," Natalie told him, grabbing her keys from the coffee table, starting to follow him.
"More assassins?" Liam asked, following them.
"Maybe a lot more," Scott answered.
"Different than the ones who just tried to set us on fire?" Natalie asked.
"I think so, yeah, Natalie," Scott answered, opening the door.
Natalie sighed, starting to follow him. When she realized Liam wasn't following, she turned to face him.
Scott looked at them.
Liam avoided their gazes, looking down.
Scott closed the door.
Natalie walked toward Liam, knowing why he was hesitating. "How about I take you home? I know it's too much right now. You need a break."
"I'm not like you, Natalie," Liam told her. He looked from Natalie to Scott. Scott walked closer. "I'm not like either of you."
"Not yet," Scott told him.
"I don't mean I'm not strong or I'm never gonna learn how to be in control," Liam told them. "I mean, everything else. You and your friends try to protect everyone. Have you been doing this the whole time? I mean, how are you all still alive?"
Natalie took a deep breath, sadly looking at the keys in her hand.
Scott looked at Natalie sadly. He looked at Liam. "Not all of us are."
Natalie looked at Liam. "Let me at least take you home."
Liam nodded.
Liam and Natalie turned to Scott.
Scott looked at Natalie. "Actually, how about you stay with him for a while?" Natalie opened her mouth to protest, shaking her head. Scott overrode her voice. "Liam's not the only one who needs a break, Natalie." Natalie tilted her head at him knowingly. "And it would be better if neither of you were alone right now. I'll take my bike."
Natalie looked at Liam.
Liam nodded. "It's okay, Natalie."
Natalie sighed, looking at Scott. "Okay."
Liam, Natalie and Scott walked out, leaving.

Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Stiles' Hospital Room
Stiles, Stacie and Melissa were talking.
Stiles pulled his jacket on.
Stiles and Stacie walked toward the door.
"I'm completely and totally fine," Stiles told them.
Melissa blocked their way. "Ah ah ah. You completely and totally have a concussion, Stiles. Lie back down. The doctor said you're not leaving without a CT scan."
"We still haven't paid for the last one," Stacie told her.
Stiles grabbed Stacie by the wrist, trying to go around her.
Melissa stepped in the way again. "No, no, no, no, no, no." Stiles sighed. "Meredith is at the station. Your dad said it could take some time, but he will get her to talk." Melissa looked at Stacie. "And, Stacie, he said that he wants you to be here with him until we know for sure he's okay."
"But we already know for sure he's okay," Stacie told her.
"Even if I let either of you leave now, what would you do?" Melissa asked. She looked at Stiles. "Are you suddenly going to gain weaponry knowledge Stacie has?"
"Okay, fine," Stiles told her, sitting down. "Can you do us one little favor?"
"Anything," Melissa answered.
"Can you get us a tape player?" Stiles asked.
"Like cassettes?" Melissa asked.
"Yes, tapes," Stacie answered.
"Yeah, I'll see what I can do," Melissa told them.
"They're tapes, though," Stacie told her.
"Cassettes," Melissa told them, walking out, leaving, closing the door behind her.
Stiles pulled the tape out of his jacket.
Lorraine Martin
Stacie sighed, taking the gun out of her pocket, cocking it, looking toward the door.
Stiles gestured to it. "Seriously, Stace? You really had to bring that thing to a hospital?"
"Have you seen how many supernatural or assassin fights there have been in this hospital alone?" Stacie replied. "After last night, I realized that I will never leave home without it again. Unless going to school... during class."
"Then why didn't you have it tonight at Eichen House?" Stiles asked.
Stacie tilted her head at him. "Bringing a deadly weapon into a mental institution? Think that one through, Stiles."
Stiles hesitated, looking to the side. He looked at Stacie, nodding. "Yeah, you made the right call on that."
Stacie nodded. "Yeah, I know I did."

Sheriff Station
Lydia was sitting outside the office, looking toward the office to see Sheriff talking to Meredith.
Sheriff walked out of the office to talk to Lydia. His arm was in a sling from being shot the day before.
"What did she say?" Lydia asked.
"Hard to tell," Sheriff told her. "There were words. I'm not sure there were actual sentences."
Lydia turned away. "Nothing."
Lydia sat down.
Sheriff walked closer. "I think we need a psychologist." He picked up the phone. "Or a medium."
"Is she even competent enough to be charged with something?" Lydia asked.
Sheriff put the phone down. "If Meredith is the Benefactor, then that means she was competent enough to trick Kate into opening the Hale Vault, competent enough to blackmail Brunski into helping her, and competent enough to create a hit list and pay out money for its completion." Lydia stood. "This girl's practically a criminal mastermind."
They looked toward the window leading to the office to see that Meredith was looking at them.
Meredith looked away.
"There's gotta be a reason why she would do this," Lydia told him.
"I'm only interested in the 'why' if it tells me the 'how'," Sheriff told her.
"You mean how to stop it," Lydia told him.
"After what happened to Scott, Ari, Natalie, Liam and Malia tonight, this thing's still going," Sheriff told her. "The payments could be automatic. And as long as the killers are getting paid, and paid very well, that list is gonna keep getting smaller."
"We don't just need to stop the dead pool," Lydia told him.
Sheriff nodded. "We need to stop the money."

Beacon Hills Animal Clinic - Outside
(Song:) I Found - Amber Run
It was still pouring rain.
Tara pulled up to the clinic outside, getting out of her Camaro, already getting soaked from the rain.
Scott arrived on his bike, taking off his helmet, getting off, looking at Tara in surprise.
Tara sighed, looking away.
Scott walked closer. "Tara. Who called you?"
"Ari," Tara answered. "Said that it was important but didn't tell me what it was about."
Scott looked toward the clinic. "Oh. Ari set this up so that..."
"We'd stop avoiding this moment," Tara finished. "There's a reason that she's a genius."
"Okay," Scott told her. "Kira and Angel found Brett and his sister, Lori. They're inside with them and their pack. Macey's in there with Ari and Adriana. Adriana was poisoned with wolfsbane at Eichen House. They need to get it out of here before it reaches Adriana's heart."
Tara nodded, looking down. "And Ari thought this was the best moment to get us to stop fighting."
"Well, we need all the help we can get, Tara," Scott told her. "But I told Natalie to take the rest of the night and tomorrow off, because tomorrow's is Natalie's birthday." Tara raised her eyebrows in acknowledgement, nodding in understanding. "What about you?"
"Me?" Tara asked.
"Are you okay?" Scott asked.
"When are you gonna stop asking me if I'm okay?" Tara asked.
"If I have a feeling I have to ask, then I'm gonna ask," Scott answered. Tara sighed. "Just like apologies. If I have a feeling I have to apologize, I'm gonna apologize."
"Yeah, because apologizing to me through hundreds of texts and voicemails isn't enough," Tara told him sarcastically.
"It's not," Scott told her. "It's not enough, Tara. And it's never going to be enough. Okay, because I know I should've told you a long time ago. And I know things that you don't, which never happens. I know what happened to Garrett's money that he got from the dead pool. And I'll give it back. I promise. I don't expect it to make you any less angry and I don't expect you to forgive me. It would actually probably be a good thing if you stayed angry, because then I wouldn't get away with--"
Tara couldn't let him go on like this, giving in, silencing him with a kiss, surprising him. They continued to kiss in the rain, pulling away. Scott looked at her in slight surprise.
Tara opened her eyes, sighing. "I've spent most of my life being so angry, Scott. I don't want to be angry anymore."
Scott looked at Tara in relief, kissing slowly and softly, building up deeply and passionately. They relaxed in their embrace, pulling away, looking at each other, managing small smiles.

Inside - Waiting Room
Angel and Kira were talking.
"Is your mom..." Angel trailed off.
"She's okay," Kira answered. "Healing. What about you, Angel? Are you okay?"
"Right now?" Angel asked. "Very."
"I meant..." Kira trailed off.
"I know what you meant," Angel told her.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be here," Kira told her. "When you needed a friend most."
Angel shrugged. "It's fine. I'm fine."
Angel noticed that her hand was slightly shaking.
Kira looked at her in confusion. "Angel, yure?"
Angel looked up, nodding. "Yeah. Sure."
Scott and Tara walked in.
"Angel," Tara told her. "Kira."
Angel and Kira nodded to her. "Tara."
Scott sighed. "Did you find him? Did you find Brett?"
"Actually, I think we found all of them," Angel told them.
Kira nodded.

Backroom
Adriana was sitting on the table, pulling on her jacket.
Macey and Ari were standing with her, after Macey had made the cut in Adriana's chest to release the wolfsbane to save her life.
Angel, Kira, Scott and Tara walked in.
"Adriana, are you okay?" Scott asked.
"Other than almost dying of wolfsbane and having to listen to the death of my grandmother on a cassette?" Adriana asked sarcastically. "Just peachy. The wolfsbane took my strength away. Now I just have to wait till I get it back." She shook her head. "I really hate Brunski, and he's dead." She turned toward the window, trying to stand, nearly falling. "Whoa."
Brett kept her standing.
Ari looked at the other wolves. "Adriana gets testy when people try to kill her and makes Adri feel weak. Don't take it personal."
Adriana gave her a sarcastic look, standing straight, leaning against the table. She looked at Brett, tracing the double infinity sign tattoo on her wrist because of her slightly angry/upset mood from having to listen to her grandmother's death on tape, and nearly dying, but opened her mouth to speak in retort to Ari's comment.
"Adri, don't say it," Macey told her. "Adriana, behave."
"Where's Deaton?" Scott asked.
"Not here," Ari answered, sighing.
Scott looked at Adriana in confusion. "Then how are you still alive?"
Macey tilted her head. "I may not have a lot of experience curing Werewolves of wolfsbane, but I've seen it done once or twice. Enough times to know how to do it to Adriana to save her life."
Scott smiled, impressed.
Adriana chuckled. "Thanks, Mom."
Macey smiled. "You're welcome, Adri. I'm not gonna lose you again, Adriana."
Kira smiled.
Angel looked at the wolf in a black cloak. "Satomi, you already know Tara, but her boyfriend here..." Tara gave Angel a look that Angel smirked back to. "Is the one I was telling you about."
Satomi looked at them. "I know who Scott McCall is."
"Like you knew who Ari and I were?" Adriana asked, looking at Ari.
Satomi nodded. "Mm-hmm."
"Are we safe here?" Lori asked.
Scott looked from Lori, Brett and Satomi to the couple standing next to the window to the man behind Satomi to the couple sitting on the floor.
All of them were scratched up but healing.
Scott looked from Adriana and Ari to Angel, Kira and Tara. "We're gonna need help." They nodded. "A lot of help."

Warehouse
Chris disabled a guard at a warehouse, throwing him through the door, walking in, holding an automatic gun.
A guard walked up behind Chris.
Chris didn't even look at him, hitting him in the face with the butt of the gun hard enough to make him fall unconscious. He walked along, finding hydroponics equipment and a single stalk of flowering yellow wolfsbane.

Day Two
Morning - Liam's House - Liam's Room
(Song:) I Get to Love You - Ruelle
Natalie was lying in Liam's bed alone, waking up. She slowly sat up, looking around, seeing that Liam was sleeping in his chair next to the bed. Her phone beeped in her jacket. She hurriedly pulled it out, looking at the text. She sighed, nodding. "Great."
It beeped again. The text was from Ari.
Natalie looked up at Liam.
Liam stirred in his sleep.
It beeped again.
Natalie looked down at the next text. It was from Scott.
Stay there. P.S...
Natalie's thumb covered the rest of the text. She turned her phone to silent so it wouldn't wake Liam. She exhaled, slowly standing, slowly grabbing her jacket, pulling it on, taking her hair out of the collar, slowly walking toward the door, slowly and quietly grabbing her car keys from the desk. She stopped at the door, starting to open it. Her phone vibrated. She sighed in exasperation, looking at another text from Stacie.
Liam was actually awake, looking at her from the chair. "That's been going off all morning." Natalie jumped, looking toward him. "Sorry, Natalie."
"It's fine," Natalie told him, looking back at the text.
"Natalie, where are you going?" Liam asked.
Natalie looked up at the ceiling, sighing, looking at Liam. "Home. I, uh, I forgot something there."
"You wanna try that one again?" Liam asked, standing. Natalie sighed. "You're going to go help the others, aren't you, Natalie?" Natalie didn't answer, tilting her head, looking away. "You just didn't want to tell me so I wouldn't feel weird about it."
Natalie looked at him, nodding. "Scott texted, so..."
Liam crossed his arms over his chest, exhaling, looking away. He looked at her. "Like I said last night, Natalie, I'm not like you guys. I can't just leave on a moment's notice to go help some total stranger. It's not that I don't want to. It's just that..." He sat on his bed. "I don't know how."
Natalie sighed, closing the door, slowly walking toward him, sitting next to him. "Then why did you save me?"
"What?" Liam asked, looking at Natalie.
"On the roof of the hospital, with the Berserker, when he was about to kill me, why did you save me?" Natalie asked.
Liam hesitated, looking away. "I don't know. I just felt like I had to protect you after all you had done for me." He looked at Natalie. "You saved my life more times than I can even remember, Natalie. I sort of felt like..."
"Like you owed me?" Natalie asked.
"No," Liam answered. "It's not just about that." Natalie tilted her head in confusion. Liam looked at her. "I felt like I couldn't live with it if I just let it happen."
Natalie smiled a small smile. "At least I'm not the only one who thinks that or feels that way."
Liam smiled a small smile, slowly letting it fade. "How do you do that?" Natalie looked at him in confusion. "How do you go through everything you just told me about last night, and still pretend everything's okay? Natalie, how can you be that strong?"
"I don't think about it as being strong," Natalie told him honestly. "I think of it as... living. I learned my mistake after Boyd died. Being isolated from everything or everyone is not going to make it hurt any less. So, I'm not gonna do that again. After Boyd died, after Erica and the vault and trying to get revenge for them... I wasn't me for the longest time."
"Are you you now, Natalie?" Liam asked.
Natalie looked at him, smiling a little, taking his hand. "I'm getting there."
Liam and Natalie looked at each other, smiling small smiles.

Sheriff's Station
Lydia and Sheriff were sitting outside of the office.
"I thought I told you to go home," Sheriff told her.
"I thought I told you I wasn't going anywhere," Lydia replied. "Did they get anything out of her?"
Sheriff shook his head. "Should have gone with the medium."
Jordan and Angel walked closer.
"Angel and I went through everything in Brunski's office," Jordan told them. Sheriff and Lydia stood. "So far, everything amounts to pretty much nothing." Jordan looked at Lydia. "Did you not go home yet?"
"Not until Meredith starts talking," Lydia answered.
"Lydia, I promise she'll talk, and when she does, I'll let you know," Sheriff told her. "Trust me on this. Everybody talks eventually."
"Then let us try," Angel told them.
Sheriff shook his head. "No, Angel, we've already discussed this."
"We've gotten through to her before," Angel told them. "Just let us try."
Sheriff and Jordan exchanged a look, sighing, knowing they didn't have a choice.
Lydia and Angel looked at each other, smirking slightly.

Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Stiles' Hospital Room
Stiles and Stacie were both in a change of clothes.
Stiles was sitting on the bed.
Stacie was on the phone, hanging up, walking toward the door. "I'm going."
Stiles stood, turning after her, grabbing her arm, making her stop. "Uh, no, Stacie, you're not." Stacie turned to face him, sighing. "You're not going on some suicide mission, okay?"
"It's not a suicide mission, okay?" Stacie asked. "Scott, Ari, Tara, Adriana and Kira need help protecting Satomi's pack. Tara called Derek for help. Derek called me. They need help. I'm going."
"Stacie, you're not ready for this," Stiles told her.
"The only way to prove that you're wrong is if you let me go," Stacie told him.
They heard the door open.
Stacie turned around, drawing her gun, aiming at the door.
Melissa jumped back. "Wow. Okay."
"Oh, my God, I'm so sorry," Stacie told her, putting the gun away.
"No, I'm sorry for scaring you," Melissa told her.
"Maybe you are ready," Stiles told her.
Stacie looked at him. "Does that mean you'll let me go?"
"No," Stiles answered.
Stacie sighed in exasperation, looking away. "Oh, my God, I'm gonna... I wanna kill you."
"I know you do, but you won't," Stiles told her.
"You sure about that?" Stacie asked.
Stiles didn't answer, looking at Melissa. "Did you find a tape player?"
"Or a way for Stiles to let me get out of here?" Stacie asked, looking from Stiles to Melissa.
Melissa looked at Stiles. "No." She looked at Stacie. "Maybe." She looked at Stiles. "I found someone looking for you." She looked at Stacie. "Who just might be your key to freedom."
Stiles and Stacie looked at her weirdly.
Melissa stepped aside.
Malia walked in.
"Oh, wow, definitely a key to freedom," Stacie told them, walking slowly toward the door. She looked at Stiles and Malia. "Because you guys need to talk. Alone." She looked at Malia. "I'm sorry. About everything."
Malia looked at Stacie, nodding. She looked at Stiles.
"Hey," Stiles told her.
Stacie walked out, leaving, closing the door behind her.
Malia looked at Stiles. "I heard you almost got killed."
"I heard you almost got killed," Stiles told her.
"You okay?" Malia asked.
Stiles nodded. "Brunski punched me in the face. Turns out he was a serial killer."
"Makes sense," Malia told him.
Stiles nodded in agreement. "Yeah. What about you?"
"We almost got set on fire," Malia told him.
"Everyone okay?" Stiles asked.
"Basically," Malia answered.
"You okay?" Stiles asked.
Malia nodded. "I'm fine." Stiles looked at her sadly. "I'm gonna go."
"You don't have to," Stiles told her.
Malia turned to the door. "I should go."
"Okay," Stiles told her.
Malia tried to open the door to no avail. "It's locked."
"Why would she lock the door?" Stiles asked, walking toward the door, trying to open it. "Uh... Hey, Stacie? Stacie."
"I could break it," Malia told him.
"How about you not?" Stiles asked. "We already owe this hospital enough money."
Malia turned away. "Why would she lock the door?"
Stiles turned to face her. "Maybe she didn't mean to."
"You don't just accidentally lock a door," Malia told him.
"Okay, well, Stacie got called in to help, and I wouldn't let her go, so maybe she locked the door so she could leave and I couldn't stop her," Stiles told her. "Or, more likely, she locked us both in here so we would stop fighting." He started to turn Stacie locking the door into him keeping the secret of Peter from Malia. "You know, some people do that. They do things 'cause they think that it's the right thing. And I don't think we should hold it against her, you know, for the rest of her life. Especially because she's tried apologizing hundreds of times through texts and voicemails."
(Song:) Echoes - Eliza Hull
Malia knew what he was doing, stepping closer. "Is she gonna keep begging?"
Stiles nodded. "She might."
Malia sighed. "I don't have much practice in things like forgiveness. Some things I'm picking up fast. But other things are like..."
"Like math?" Stiles asked.
"I hate math," Malia admitted.
Stiles nodded understandingly, stepping closer hesitantly. "Do you hate me?"
Malia shook her head. "I like you, Stiles. I like you a lot."
"I can work with that," Stiles told her.
Malia pulled Stiles closer, kissing him deeply and passionately. Stiles placed his hands on her back to pull her closer. They continued to kiss, relaxing in their embrace, slowly pulling away, looking at each other.
The door opened on its own.
Malia and Stiles looked at the door in confusion.

Warehouse
Chris walked inside, placing the yellow wolfsbane stalk inside a safe hidden inside one of the walls. He saw muddy footprints, immediately on his guard, raising his gun.
A shadowy figure appeared behind one of the hanging pieces of plastic.
Chris was ready to fire.
One of Satomi's metal spikes grazed across Chris' hand, making him drop the gun, embedding itself into the wall behind him.
Brett was the shadowy figure, pushing the plastic aside to stand in front of Chris, growling, shifting.
Adriana ran closer. "Wait! Brett! This is his place. It's his."
Brett calmed down, turning to face Adriana.
Ari walked closer, sighing.
Chris walked closer to the Martin twins. "Ari. Adriana. If you bring in guests, you could have called."
"We didn't have anywhere else to take them," Ari told him.
"Where's your mother?" Chris asked.
"We told her to go home and not get herself killed," Adriana answered.
Brett stood on the other side of Adriana.
"I'm guessing that Macey didn't like having to let you go into battle without her," Chris told them.
"No," Ari answered. "But she knew that with us being more worried about her safety than ours that we would likely get hurt or killed if she was here, so she agreed to go home."
Scott, Tara and Kira walked closer to them.
Satomi walked closer to Chris. "I know this man. He may not remember, but we've met before."
"You can trust him," Scott told her. He looked at Ari and Adriana. "We trust him."
"How do we know he's not like the others?" Satomi asked.
"What others?" Chris asked.
"Last night, there was a whole team after them," Kira told him. She held out an arrow. "And they used crossbows."
Chris took the arrow, looking at the steel arrow head, turning it around.
"They're hunters, aren't they?" Ari asked.
Chris looked up with a cold look in his eyes. "Not if they're killing for profit. Not anymore."
"Can they find us?" Brett asked.
"They might already know you're here," Chris told them. "Maybe they're waiting for dark."
Kira looked at Tara, Scott, Ari and Adriana. "So we're not safe here."
Satomi looked at them. "We're not safe anywhere. We've been trying to get out for days. Everywhere we turn, we find someone new trying to kill us."
Chris took a step forward, looking at Scott, Ari and Adriana. "If they're coming, they're coming for the three of you, too. You're all still the highest ones on the dead pool." He looked at Tara. "Tara, your price just went up 5 million, as did Natalie and Angel's." He nodded to Scott, Ari and Adriana. "But you, Tara, are just five million away from being tied with the three of them."
"We know," Tara told him.
"And I know Lydia and Angel can get the answer from Meredith," Scott told him. "They just need more time."
Chris looked at them. "That, I'm not so sure we have."

Stilinski House - Stiles' Room
Stiles and Malia were listening to the tape of Lorraine and Brunski.
Brunski: (on tape) "Let's go, Lorraine."
Lorraine: (on tape) "Listen to me. Please listen. There's something I have to do. Something I have to stop."
Brunski: (on tape) "I have to take you back to Eichen, Lorraine."
Stiles turned the radio up.
Lorraine: (on tape) "No. No. I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape. Just like you taped the others."
Stiles paused the tape. "This didn't happen at Eichen House."
"But then where did she go?" Malia asked.
Stiles shrugged. "That's what we need to find out."
¤•¤°¤•¤
Sheriff's Station - Sheriff's Office
Meredith was sitting on the couch.
Lydia and Angel were standing in front of her.
Sheriff and Jordan stood behind them.
Angel was pacing. "I think I'm getting an idea of how all this happened. You used Brunski, right? You knew he had killed people and that he would do it again."
Lydia looked at Angel, Sheriff, and Jordan. She sat down next to Meredith. "He used my grandmother's code for the dead pool. He put it online. He took the money from the Hale Vault. Then turned the bearer bonds into cash. He made the payments. Was it Brunski's idea to fake your death? Did he get nervous because you helped us with one little cipher key?"
"I wanted to help," Meredith told them.
Angel, Sheriff and Jordan exchanged a look.
Lydia sighed. "All you ever wanted to do was help." Meredith nodded. "Is that why you're here? I know you wouldn't be here if you didn't want to talk."
"I do," Meredith told them. "But only to one person."
"Who?" Angel asked.
"Peter," Meredith answered. Lydia, Angel, Sheriff and Jordan exchanged a look. Meredith looked at Lydia and Angel. "Peter Hale."

Liam's House - Liam's Room
(Song:) Hold Me Down - Mansionair
Natalie was sitting at the desk. Her phone vibrated. She turned away from the door, pulling it out to see a text from Isaac.
Isaac: Happy Birthday, Nattie!! Call me.
Natalie: I don't gave enough money to call France.
Liam walked into the room with two drinks.
Natalie was too focused on texting her brother to notice.
Isaac: Well, I don't have enough money to call you. I miss you.
Natalie: Miss you too.
Liam walked closer.
Natalie exhaled.
Liam tried to look over her shoulder. "Natalie? What is it?"
Natalie tried to put her phone away. "Nothing. Oh, my God, you really need to stop doing that." Liam put the drinks down, taking the phone. Natalie looked at him. "Hey!" She turned the chair to face him. "No, don't..." She tried to take it back. Liam turned away, smiling. Natalie stood, reaching for her phone. Liam held it out of her reach. "Don't do that."
Natalie exhaled in defeat.
Liam smiled, reading the text. He looked at Natalie in surprise. "Today's your birthday?"
"Um, no," Natalie told him. "Wrong number."
"Right, that's why the contact name was Isaac, who you and Scott and Ari told me was your brother's name, and he called you Nattie, and why you texted back," Liam told her sarcastically. He looked at the screen. "Ari said, 'Happy Birthday'. Stacie said, 'HB, Natalie'. Adriana said, 'Happy B-day, bitch' with about 50 exclamation points. And Scott said, 'Stay there. P.S., Happy Birthday'." Natalie took her phone back, sighing, tilting her head, looking away, sitting down. "Natalie, why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't like my birthday," Natalie told him, putting her phone in her pocket.
"Why don't you like your birthday?" Liam asked.
"Because, normally, my father would lock me in the freezer for how many hours that I'm turning," Natalie answered. "14 hours for turning 14. 15 hours for turning 15. And so on."
Liam nodded understandingly. He changed the subject. "So, what's the new number?"
"16," Natalie answered.
"16?" Liam repeated. Natalie nodded. "Aren't most girls, like, usually psyched for their 16th birthday?"
"I'm not most girls," Natalie told him.
"Yeah, I've noticed, Natalie," Liam told her. Natalie chuckled. Liam nodded in understanding. "This is why Scott told you to take a break."
"Yeah," Natalie answered in a near whisper. She looked up. "Actually, I don't even know how he found out. I didn't tell him, so Isaac had to. Or most likely Stacie, Ari or Adriana. I just didn't want to make a big deal about it."
Liam pressed his lips together. He looked at Natalie. "Then I'm the only one who knows besides the other people who already know. No one else has to, Natalie. Scott wants you to stay here, anyway."
Natalie looked at Liam in surprise, standing, kissing him slowly and softly. Liam returned the kiss in kind, pulling her closer.
Natalie pulled away, smiling, wrapping her arms around his neck. "That may just very well be the best birthday present I've ever gotten."
Liam smiled.
They continued to kiss.

Stilinski House - Stiles' Room
Malia and Stiles were sitting at the table, listening to the tape.
Brunski: (on tape) "...back to Eichen, Lorraine."
Lorraine: (on tape) "No. No. I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere."
"That's it," Malia told him. "That's where it is. Play it again and turn it up."
Stiles rewound the tape, turning it up.
Lorraine: (on tape) "No. No. I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape. Just like you taped the others."
Malia could hear a needle scratching faintly. "It's the record player."
Stiles turned the tape of. "What record player?'
"The one in the lake house, in the study," Malia answered.
"So, she escaped from Eichen House to go back to listen to a record player?" Stiles asked.
"Well, she was like Lydia, right?" Malia asked, standing, pacing. "She was a Banshee?"
"Yeah, but only once," Stiles told her. "She predicted Maddy's death and then just spent decades trying to predict something else."
"Maybe she finally did," Malia told him. "And what if that time, it wasn't just one death, it was a lot of deaths?"
"Like the dead pool," Stiles realized.
"What if all those years ago, Lorraine predicted it?" Malia asked. "And she knew there was something in the study that could stop it?"
"Then we're going to the lake house," Stiles answered, grabbing his keys, standing, walking toward the door.
Malia followed him.

Warehouse
Chris was putting alarms over the whole place to warn them when the assassins would come.
Stacie and Derek were here now.
Stacie, Kira and Adriana were standing together.
Scott was looking out the window, walking toward them. He stood next to Derek, Tara and Ari. "They'll be okay."
Derek looked at Satomi's pack, looking at Tara, Ari and Scott, walking past. "They got claws and fangs. But they're not fighters."
Tara, Ari and Scott followed.
"That's why I called you," Tara told him.
"Well, try to remember that I don't have claws and fangs anymore, either," Derek told her, stopping next to Stacie, Kira and Adriana, turning to face them.
"That's why he called me," Stacie told them.
"Am I the only one still hoping this is all just a false alarm?" Kira asked. "I mean, it's possible we could wait here all night and nothing happens. Right?"
No one answered.
"Guys, you hear anything from Stiles and Malia or Lydia and Angel yet?" Tara asked, looking from Stacie to Ari and Adriana.
"Lydia and Angel are still talking to Meredith," Ari told them.
"Stiles and Malia are heading to the lake house," Stacie told them. "They're trying to stop it."
Brett walked closer. "What if there is no stopping it?" Adriana turned to face him. Everyone looked at him. "What if it doesn't end till we're all dead?"
A moment of silence passed.
"Then let's send a message," Derek told them. Everyone looked at him. "Let's make tonight perfectly clear to anyone with a copy with that list." Derek turned around, walking away. "It doesn't matter if they're professional assassins, hunters or an amateur who just picked up a gun." He turned to face them, holding up the gun in his hand. "Anyone who thinks they can hunt and kill us for money is going to be put on another list, our list. They get to be a name on our dead pool."
Stacie raised her gun, cocking it.

Sheriff's Station - Interrogation Room
Meredith was sitting in an interrogation room now, looking down at the table.
Sheriff, Lydia, Peter, Jordan and Angel were standing behind the glass.
"Her?" Peter asked skeptically. "That's the girl that stole my money?"
"That girl is a Banshee," Lydia told him. "They're more dangerous than you think."
"Oh, I think that girl's pilot light went out a long time ago," Peter told them. "Sheriff, not to question the questionably sterling reputation of your department, but are you sure you got the one?"
"How about you just go in there and see what she has to say?" Sheriff suggested.
Peter looked at Meredith.
¤•¤°¤•¤
Later
Peter and Meredith sat across from each other at the table.
Jordan stood nearby.
Lydia, Sheriff and Angel stood behind the glass, listening and watching.
"Okay..." Peter trailed off. "Meredith, where's my money? Or more correctly, what's left of it."
Meredith was looking at the side of his face, raising a hand slowly to touch his cheek.
Peter grabbed her wrist forcefully.
"Let her go," Jordan told him. Peter didn't let her go. Jordan repeated his words forcefully. "Let her go."
Sheriff, Lydia and Angel waited to see what happened.
Peter slowly let Meredith go, placing her hand on the table. "Why did you do that?"
"They're all gone," Meredith told him.
"Oh, my God," Lydia told them. "They have met before."
"The burns," Meredith told him. "They're all... gone."

Warehouse
Derek and Stacie were readying their guns.
Derek looked at Stacie. "Are you sure you're ready for this, Stacie?"
"Now you're starting to sound like Stiles," Stacie told him. Derek tilted his head. Stacie sighed. "I'll do what I have to, but I don't wanna kill anyone. I don't think I can kill anyone."
"That's what I'm talking about," Derek told her. "Killing someone takes something from you. Not just for wolves. For humans, too. I don't want you killing if you have a choice about it. But if it comes down to it, would you kill someone if it saves someone you love?"
"Absolutely," Stacie answered, no hesitation.
"Would you kill someone if it saves you?" Derek asked. Stacie hesitated, looking down. Derek nodded knowingly. "That's the hesitation that could mean the difference between life and death, Stacie." He set his gun down on the table next to them, looking at Stacie. "Think of it this way. If they're trying to kill you, they're trying to kill Scott, Stiles and Ari. Will you hesitate then?"
Stacie shook her head. "No."
"Good," Derek told her, placing a hand on Stacie's cheek, kissing her lightly, pulling away. "Remember that, Stacie."
Stacie nodded. "I will."
Derek and Stacie looked at each other, kissing passionately.
The alarm went off, making them look around.
Derek looked at Stacie. "They're coming."
Stacie handed him his gun back.
Derek nodded.

Sheriff's Station - Interrogation Room
Peter and Meredith sat across the table from each other.
Jordan stood nearby.
Lydia, Sheriff and Angel stood on the other side of the glass, watching.
"Meredith, you put everyone, including my nephew, my niece and my daughter, on a dead list," Peter told her. "Don't you think you owe us a slightest explanation of why?"
"You said it had to be kept secret," Meredith told him in a whisper.
"I said... I said that to you?" Peter asked.
"You said it," Meredith told him.
"Meredith, allow me to remind you yet again we have never met," Peter told her. "Ever."
"What is he doing?" Angel asked.
No one had an answer.
"You don't remember?" Meredith asked.
"No," Peter answered. "But maybe you do."
Peter stood abruptly.
"No, don't!" Lydia told him.
Peter pushed the table to the side, pushing Jordan against the wall, making him hit his head on the wall and fall.
"Uncle Jordan!" Angel told him, running toward the door leading to that side of the room.
Peter walked over to Meredith, grabbing her neck with one hand, piercing his claws into the back of her neck with the other.
Meredith screamed, looking up.

Ari turned to the others. "Get back!"
Ari ran away.
The smoke grenades ignited.
Satomi's pack ran for the back.
The rest of them lowered to the floor.
The hunters started to fire their automatic guns, walking in, surrounding the place.
Chris was standing behind a beam for cover. He turned around, firing his own gun at the other hunters. He ducked back behind the beam.
Stacie ducked behind the table, having her gun on the table, shooting at the ones trying to shoot her. She ducked back down, leaning against it, breathing heavily.
Derek rolled into cover away from the bullets. He crouched to the floor, firing his own gun.

Lydia ran inside. "Don't! Don't touch them." She stood next to Peter and Meredith. "If you break the bond now, it could kill them, both of them."
"What are we supposed to do?" Sheriff asked.
"I, uh, I don't know," Lydia told them.
Sheriff and Jordan lowered their guns.
"What the hell is he doing to her?" Angel asked.
Peter had his eyes closed, in a trance.
Meredith gasped, opening her eyes.

Jordan looked at Angel. "Can you understand that, Angel?"

Day - Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Joint Hospital Room
Macey walked over to Peter's bed on the other side of the curtain. "Here we have a rather extraordinary case. Near fatal burn victim. The interesting part is that, typically in a situation like this, the coma is induced medically as the pain is normally too much for the patient to bear. We're not sure how Mr. Hale became comatose, however. His survival is honestly a mystery we're still trying to solve. Moving on."
The doctors all walked away.
Macey looked at Peter for a moment, puzzled over his mystery, walking away.

Flashback
Day - Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Joint Hospital Room
Meredith was awake, looking around, unable to move.
Angel: (voice over)"She was hearing his every thought in his head. Like somehow they found the same wavelength. Everything that was going through his mind was going right into hers."
Sheriff: (voice over) "For how long?"
Angel: (voice over) "Weeks. Maybe even months. It was almost like he was standing right over her bed talking about the fire. About getting revenge."
Peter crawled up to Meredith's bed. "I predicted this. I told... I told Talia this was going to happen." He sat up in his bed. "Something like this was going to happen. I said that they were gonna come for us. The Argents. They're gonna come for us. They are gonna burn us to the ground." He was standing above Meredith. "Burn us to the ground. Did she listen? Of course not. Did anyone listen? They listened to her. Yes! Say that everything was going to be fine. That we were all perfectly safe. Perfectly safe. But she made us weak! She made us weak. And what happens to the weakest in the herd? They get picked off by the predators! We used to be the apex predators. Until Talia turned us into the sheep. But I'll start over. Like a vengeful god, I will raze this earth to the ground! I will take out all of them! Not just the wolves, but the Wendigos, the Banshees, every shapeshifter. I will obliterate the weak and I will remake the supernatural of Beacon Hills in my image. I won't have to do any of it myself. Because I'll hire people. Assassins. Professional killers. People like The Mute. The Chemist. Even... Someone like the Desert Wolf. I'll use the money in the vault. The bearer bonds. I'll use every penny if I have to. I'll start with the professionals, and then maybe I'll disseminate the list further. No. No. Not a list. A dead pool. Eventually everybody will want a chance. Anyone can become a killer for the right price, because when it comes down to it, everyone can be corrupted by money!"

Malia and Stiles were sitting in front of the record player, listening.
Stiles sighed, standing. "What are we doing? This room wasn't even made for us. You know, we need someone like Lydia or Meredith. And we're just sitting here listening to a stupid record player play a record that doesn't play anything." He turned the record player off. "Come on. There's plenty of other things we can be totally useless doing."
Stiles walked toward the door, opening it.
Malia started to stand, stopping when she heard a faint whirring. "Stiles?"
Stiles turned to face her. "Yes?"
"I can still hear it," Malia told him.
"But it's not on," Stiles told her.
"Then it's something else," Malia told him, standing. Stiles walked closer. "Something's spinning."
Stiles checked the record player and the table it was on, noticing a coaxial cable extending out of the wall behind it. "Uh..."
Stiles moved the table and the record player, kneeling next to the wire, pulling at it, making it break the dry wall. He looked at Malia.
Malia shrugged.
Stiles ripped up the cord, breaking through the dry wall more.
Malia and Stiles pulled and pulled at the dry wall, breaking it away.
The same three machines that had appeared next to Ari, Lydia and Adriana in the loft as illustration for the flashbacks were behind the wall.
They were spinning and spinning.
"What is this?" Malia asked.
Stiles was in shock. "The dead pool."

Kira sliced her sword through the translucent sheet to see Assassin 1 behind it. She kicked him back into a shelf. She turned around, running away.
Ari grabbed Assassin 2, spinning around, pushing him back. She turned to face him. Assassin 2 tried to shoot her. Ari grabbed the gun, using the end to hit his helmet off, punching his head hard enough to make him fall unconscious.
Scott jumped over Assassin 3, pushing him to the floor, taking both sides of his collar, hitting his head against the floor twice, punching him repeatedly. He growled, standing, running away.
Satomi spun her spikes. Assassin 4 shot toward her. Chris stood next to Satomi, shooting Assassin 4, making him fall.
Assassin 5 shot toward Satomi and Chris from behind.
Ari grabbed Assassin 5 by the arm, turning around, making him spin. Assassin 5 tried to shoot her. Ari kicked the gun down, jumping up, kicking him back into a beam, making him fall. Ari walked toward him, taking off his helmet, grabbing his gun, using the end to hit his head hard enough to make him unconscious.
Assassin 6 approached Stacie from behind, raising his gun to shoot.
Adriana appeared next to Assassin 6. Assassin 6 looked at her. Adriana waved, smiling. Assassin 6 aimed the gun at her, starting to shoot. Adriana bent backwards into the arch, raising her legs on either side of the gun to grab the gun, taking it away from him. She used the end of the gun to hit him in the head, making him stumble back. Adriana kicked the gun into the air. She flipped through the air, catching the gun as she landed on her feet, hitting Assassin 6 in the head with the gun, making him fall unconscious.
Assassin 7 was shooting at Tara. Tara turned around, walking toward him. Assassin 7 shot her in the shoulder. Tara groaned in pain, holding her shoulder. She ran toward Assassin 7, pushing him to the floor. Assassin 7 tried to shoot her. Tara took his gun away from him, hitting him in the head, making him fall unconscious, twirling the gun to hit Assassin 8 in the head behind her, making him fall unconscious, tossing the gun aside.
Derek and Stacie stood back to back, circling around each other, staying together, guns raised.

Derek and Stacie fired their guns.

Sheriff's Station - Interrogation Room
Angel and Lydia were making sure that Meredith was okay.
Angel's hands were shaking more visibly than the night before.
Lydia looked at her in confusion.
Angel looked away.
Jordan and Sheriff had their guns aimed at Peter.
Peter was still laying on the floor. "Are you kidding me?"
"Hands where we can see them," Sheriff told him.
"How in the hell was I supposed to remember any of that?" Peter asked, standing.
"She got it from you," Angel told him.
Peter looked at Angel. "I was out of my mind, Angel. Do you know what it's like for one of us to be in a coma? Paralyzed but cognizant? You try not going crazy."
"She was listening to you," Jordan told him.
"She was listening to the ranting of a lunatic," Peter told him. He looked at the rest of them. "A former lunatic. I'm much healthier now."
"From where I'm standing, it sounds like you're the same now as you were then," Angel told him.
Peter took a threatening step toward Angel.
Jordan raised his gun higher, standing in front of Angel protectively so Peter couldn't get to his niece.
Peter smirked in amusement. He looked at Angel in annoyance. "I had nothing to do with this."
"If she was following your lead on this, then how do we know there isn't more?" Sheriff asked.
"Stealing my own money?" Peter asked skeptically. "Really?"
"Well, you were gonna use it anyway," Sheriff told him.
"Stop," Lydia told them. "Stop it, this is what she wants. It's why she's here." Peter nodded to Lydia smugly, still looking at Sheriff. "Look around, Sheriff. There's four people in here right now, four people still on the dead pool. Me." She looked at Jordan. "Parrish." She looked at Angel. "Angel." She looked at Meredith. "And Meredith."
"But not him," Jordan told them, looking at Peter.
"Lydia's right," Peter told them. "We don't want to kill each other."
"Only person I'm pointing a gun at is you," Sheriff replied.
"Then you better make it a perfect shot, Sheriff, because I don't go down easy," Peter told him.
Sheriff aimed the gun at Peter's nose. "I'm willing to bet that a bullet between the eyes doesn't heal real fast. Not even for your kind."
"Stop," Lydia told them. "Please stop."
"This department's getting more corrupted by the second," Peter told them. "What are you gonna charge me with, Sheriff? How are you gonna explain this to a judge? Telepathic girl overhears thoughts of a comatose Werewolf and decides to enact his plans for retribution." He clicked his tongue. "They're gonna be pointing a gun at your head, asking you to go quietly."
Lydia looked at Jordan and Sheriff. "Let him go. You have to let him go."
"I'd take the word of a Banshee," Peter told him. "I leave, no triggers pulled, and no blood shed."
Jordan and Sheriff reluctantly put the guns down, hating to do so.
Peter started to walk toward the door.
"That's twice, Peter," Sheriff told him, making him stop. "There's not gonna be a third."
Peter walked out, leaving.
Meredith stood, looking after him. "No." Jordan held her back. "It's not finished! No, it's not finished! No, it's not... It's not finished!"
Angel, Lydia, Meredith, Jordan and Sheriff watched Peter leave.

Malia and Stiles looked at the three machines behind the broken wall.
Malia tried to punch the machine in the middle to break it.
Stiles was barely able to catch her arm in time to stop her. "No! You can't just smash it to pieces. Okay? If this thing's being used to disseminate the list, then it's probably gonna keep going until everyone's dead."
"Then what do we do?" Malia asked.
"It needs some kind of prompt or command or something, right?" Stiles asked. Malia stepped closer. "No, no, no."
Malia pointed up to a hole at the top of the machine in the middle. "What about a key?"

Stiles had Lydia and Angel on video call on his phone, showing them the machines. "You see it? There's got to be a way to turn it off, right?"
Lydia and Angel were still in the station, in the main room now.
"I don't know," Angel told them. "I don't know anything about computers from the 1970s."
Malia looked at them over video call. "Neither do we."
"Okay, where's the monitor?" Angel asked.
"Angel, there is no monitor," Stiles answered. "There are buttons, knobs, spindles, no monitor."
"Wait, turn the phone back," Lydia told him. "Point it at the carpet."
"The floor," Lydia answered. "Just show us the floor."
Stiles turned the phone to show them the floor.
Angel frowned in confusion. "Where's the stain? There should be red blotches, a wine stain. I accidentally made Lydia spill red wine at the lake house party."
"There's nothing," Stiles told them.
"That doesn't make sense," Lydia told them. "I gave the $500 I was supposed to use to hire cleaners to Brunski."
"Lydia, what the hell does wine have to do with anything?" Stiles asked.
"Red wine doesn't just disappear," Lydia told them. "Unless it wasn't wine."
"What?" Angel asked. "What do you mean?"
"The ashes weren't ashes," Lydia told them. "The study isn't a study. The record player isn't a record player. So... so, maybe the wine wasn't wine."
Angel realized that she was right. "Stiles, you have to find the wine. Find the bottle. There could be something about it."
"What kind?" Stiles asked. "What's it called?"
"It's a 1982 Cotes du Rhone," Lydia answered.
Malia hung up.

Later
Stiles brought the wine into the study. "I think there's something inside." He walked toward Malia. "Do you have, like, a wine opener or..."
Malia took the bottle, throwing it onto the carpet, making it shatter and the fake red wine spill over the floor.
Stiles searched the glass shards, finding the key, running toward the machines, putting the key into the slot, looking at Malia.
Malia nodded.
Stiles turned the key.

Warehouse
The fight continued.
Lori was walking alone, looking around. "Brett? Brett, where are you?"
Assassin 9 walked toward Lori through the smoke, aiming his gun at her.
Adriana stopped fighting, running toward her.
Lori closed her eyes so she wouldn't see death coming. The laser pointed between her eyes, over her nose.
Adriana was shot down, making her stop. "No! Lori!" Scott turned around to see why Adriana had screamed, seeing Assassin 9. He ran toward him, pushing him away from Lori. Assassin 10 shot Adriana in the back again, making her fall to her knees. He shot again, making her fall. Adriana slowly rolled onto her back, looking toward him with a glare. Assassin 10 was about ten feet away. He pointed the gun at Adriana's head. He was about to pull the trigger. Brett ran closer, pushing Assassin 10 away. He looked at Adriana. Adriana looked at Brett in relief, sighing. "Thought I told you to hide."
Brett walked toward Adriana. "I'm really tired of hiding, Adriana."
Adriana rolled her eyes.
Brett held a hand toward Adriana.
Adriana took his hand, letting him help her up. She turned around to see Assassin 10 behind her, spinning to kick him back into the beam behind him, making the beam crack because she had used too much strength, making him fall to the floor. "There's my strength." She sighed, shaking her head. "This week is just not my week."
Scott pushed Assassin 9 on a table, shifted more than he had shifted before, slashing him mercilessly. His face rippled and began to change, taking on a more distinctly Werewolf appearance with a more prominent brow, deeper set dark red eyes, and larger, more pointed ears. He removed Assassin 9's helmet, looking directly into his eyes, growling, slashing. He removed the man's balaclava, seeing that his face was blood-covered, continuing to slash away at him, raising his hand to slash at him again.
Lori closed her eyes so she didn't have to see.
Tara appeared next to him, catching his hand. "Scott!"
Scott looked at Tara. He seemed to regain some level of control. His face reverted to a more normal transformation.
Tara looked worried about him.
Cell phones started vibrating all over the place.
The assassin were leaving.
Everyone was still suspicious.
Lori ran toward Adriana and Brett, nearly tackling Brett in a hug.
Brett took her hand in relief.
Chris still knelt by the beam.
Derek still had his gun raised, crouching.
Stacie was still by the desk, slowly raising from the floor, looking over the edge of the desk, pointing her gun around just in case.
Ari still had her fists held ready, looking around. "Adriana?"
Tara looked around, turning her head to look over her shoulder.
Assassin 9's phone vibrated.
Scott took out his phone, looking at the text.
Adriana saw a phone vibrating on the floor. She knelt to pick it up, looking at the text.
Brett looker over Adriana's shoulder to look at the text.
Scott turned the screen toward Assassin 9 so he could see the text.
The Benefactor: All contracts terminated.

The computer reels stopped turning as the machinery whined to a halt.
Stiles and Malia looked at each other.

Warehouse
Scott and Tara walked toward Derek, Stacie, Ari, Adriana, Brett, Lori, Kira, Satomi and Chris.
The rest of Satomi's pack walked closer.
Ari wrapped an arm around Stacie and Adriana on either side of her, bringing them into a hug. Stacie and Adriana returned the embrace. They pulled away.
Brett pulled Lori to his chest. Adriana looked at them in relief. Brett nodded to Adriana thankfully. Adriana nodded in return.
Chris nodded to them.
Scott and Tara looked at each other, nodding.
Stacie turned to embrace Derek in relief. Derek held her close.
Kira looked around at all of them. "Is it over? Really over?"
No one had an answer.

Sheriff's Station - Sheriff's Office
Angel was sitting on the couch, looking at her shaking hands, holding them together to stop them from shaking.
Lydia wrapped a jacket around Meredith. They walked toward Angel, sitting down.
Lydia looked at Meredith. "Are you okay?" Meredith didn't answer. "I guess you are, aren't you?"
Angel sighed. "For someone who'd put their own name on a hit list."
"I had to," Meredith told them.
"Why?" Angel asked.
"Because I heard you," Meredith answered. "I heard all of you." She looked at Lydia. "I heard you scream in the tunnels at Oak Creek." She looked between Lydia and Angel. "I heard all of you cry." Lydia and Angel knew that she was talking about the night that Allison had died. "That's why I knew it was the right time to start over."
Angel took a deep breath. "But with Peter?"
"He's the Alpha," Meredith told them. "He's always been the Alpha. He'll make it right. It never was with us. Too many people died because of us. We're the monsters. Even Banshees. Even me."
Lydia shook her head. "I don't believe that. Not all monsters do monstrous things."
"Like who?" Meredith asked.
"Like Scott and Ari," Angel answered. "Natalie, Tara. Now even Adriana, after she redeemed herself."
Meredith looked between Lydia and Angel. "Like you." She seemed to realize exactly what had happened, horrified with herself. "Oh, God. What have I done?"

Tunnels
Peter and Kate were meeting.
Peter was pacing.
"You look nervous," Kate told him.
"I'm not nervous," Peter told her. "I'm rattled. I don't like being rattled."
"But it's over," Kate told him. "The dead pool's done. And if you need to be reminded, everything else is going exactly your way."
"Not exactly my way," Peter told her.
"Maybe every little piece in your game didn't move just as predicted, but they still moved perfectly into place," Kate told him. Peter watched as water dripped into the drain, holding out his hand to catch the droplets. Kate walked closer. "You want to bail on the plan?"
"Of course not," Peter answered. "Not when I'm this close." Kate smirked. "Not when I'm this close to killing Scott McCall and Arielle Martin."
Peter closed his fist.
