Chapter 7
Like a unit, the father-daughter duo met up with the Niners, the crew that put her sister in jeopardy. That morning she heard from her O.P.A peers making sure she was okay. Harrison has become her confidant/ her eyes while she's gone. Olivia had taken Amanda Tanner as her client just to piss off Fitz. Fitz has been trying to call her since Olivia let it slip that Veronica had died. Once their car had stopped meeting up with three of the Niner members, her dad got out first before helping her out. Her gun is in the waistband of her pants her blazer has hidden.
"Thank you," Sybil whispered as she and August stood behind her dad as he spoke to the Niners.
"You're welcome. What did I tell your crew three weeks ago?" Damon stated as the man tried to avoid getting killed.
" Lay low." The boy told him.
"Yes, mm-hmm. We don't make decisions in the heat of rage." Her father tried to remain calm.
"Look, Laroy's still feeling the pain of losing his girl." The boy replied to him putting the heat all on Laroy.
"She wasn't... his girl." Damon verbalized to the boy.
"He told us to hit that truck. Said we waited long enough." The boy says.
Sybil shook her head at the boy. Her father already thought that they were a liability, and their dead leader had already built their graves. The Pope family had always been about Image and soon the Niners and the Sons of Anarchy will learn what happens when they get way too over their heads.
"One of my daughters was murdered. Someone goes after the men suspected of doing it, all eyes look my way." Damon remarked.
"Sons killed TJ on that highway. Now, we have to answer back, or we look weak. You know how that works, man." The boy responded.
"I just got a call... from the military arm of the Galindo drug cartel... wanting me to sit down with Jax Teller. Do you know how hard I have worked to distance myself from that element? Your need for street cred is making my life difficult. It stops now." Damon tells them not wanting to hear any more excuses.
"Why ain't you laying this all on Laroy, okay?' Cause he's the one making the calls. All we do is...Look, I'm s..." The boy tried to say as Damon looked back at his daughter and August as they remembered what happened to Laroy before he was cut off by August.
"Our detectives got the address. I'll set it all up." August told him.
"Okay. I'm too close to this, Augie... all right? No loose ends." Damon replied before him, and Sybil went to sit in the car. August showed the boys the consequences of not doing what was told before getting in the car and leaving.
White House, Washington D.C
Fitz had woken up very late into the day after not being able to sleep. He wondered why no one woke him up. He stared at Mellie, who was eating brunch.
"What's happening?" Fitz asked Mellie.
"Morning, honey," Mellie replied to him as Fitz still looked lost.
"What's happening?" Fitz questioned again.
"I called Mrs. Hanley, and I canceled your morning schedule," Mellie told him as she drank some orange juice.
"Uh. Oh, for the love of..." Fitz groans as Mellie tries not to smile as she drinks more orange juice.
" You haven't been sleeping. You paced until 4:00 A.M. I wanted you to get some sleep." Mellie ate more food as she watched Fitz.
"I had a video conference on hunger in the developing world. Mandela got outta bed. Mandela was waiting for me." Fitz complained to Mellie.
"People die if they don't get enough sleep," Mellie mentioned to Fitz, who was still angry.
"The chairman of the joint chiefs and I had a meeting; I was sitting with the economic advisors," Fitz commented.
"You needed one chance to sleep in," Mellie remarked.
"I am the leader of the free world! I do not sleep in!" Fitz yelled in anger.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" Mellie asked.
" Mel..." Fitz says knowing they both knew why he wasn't sleeping. He was too busy thinking about Sybil.
"I just want you to have what you need. You know that. I'm doing a tour of D.C. homeless shelters this afternoon. I have to give a speech. Wish me luck." Mellie changed the subject before getting up to leave, leaving Fitz to look at her.
Oakland, Train Stops
Sybil and August got out of the car as the same Niners crew members waited for them. Sybil motioned for them to put their guns on the hood.
"Weapon... on the hood of the car." Sybil pointed to the hood of their car.
The crew members looked at each other before August motioned for them to put their guns in the car.
" It's cool," Darnell said as he and his crew put their guns on the hood.
Sybil motioned him to follow her as August stood to the side watching.
"My father has given the problem some more thought, and he realizes nothing the Sons offer is gonna be good enough. But you... get to give 'em your message." Sybil tells Darnell as she hands him a gun as they hear motorcycle sounds coming up.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" Darnell complained to her.
" Kill Teller." Sybil tasked him as Darnell hurried to put the gun in his waist. Sons of Anarchy pulled up to the scene. They stared at the woman and August along with Darnell.
"I thought this meeting was with Pope?" Jax questioned the woman as she stared at him.
"My father would like this discussion to happen first." Sybil declared.
"I didn't know Pope had another daughter," Jax said as she almost smiled.
"Yes, of course. I haven't been home in a while before well that's not important. I'm Sybil Pope and this is my associate August Marks. Weapons please." Sybil spoke as she pointed to August. She pointed to the hood as Jax and Chibs looked at each other before they all looked at the Niners who pulled up their shirts showing they weren't packing. Darnell followed as well.
"Gotta settle things with the Niners." Sybil walked close to Jax as she stared at him making him look her.
" Where the hell's Laroy?" Jax questioned.
"Darnell's in charge now. Now settle it." Sybil answered before backing up.
Jax looked at her for a few minutes before facing Darnell and talking.
"Hey. Look, man, we have a lot of history with your crew. We've beefed before, both made mistakes, but we got through it. Just tell me what you need." Jax told Darnell, who stared at him for a few seconds before he smirked pulling the gun that Sybil gave him, failing her test. Seeing that the gun wasn't loaded, Jax pulled Darnell's arm down, punching him as Darnell fought back. As their crews yelled out to them as she watched.
"Drop him, Darnell!" One of his boys called out.
"Go, Jackie, boy! We'll get back at these bastards! kill, Jackie!" One of Jax's crew yelled out.
"Come on, D, get up, man!" Another one of Darnell's boys shouted.
"That's enough. That's enough!" August yelled as Sybil pulled her gun and the two broke apart. As Jax's crew held him back.
"I thought you pulled weapons," Jax yelled at her as she pointed the gun at Darryl's head.
" I did," Sybil says before shooting Darnell in the head.
The gun was smoking as both crews were yelling at the outcome.
"Jesus Christ," Jax exclaims as She gives the gun to August, who puts it in his waist pants.
"He didn't want to be in charge anyway," Sybil remarked before looking over to the remaining Darnell's boys before picking one.
"You, what's your name?" Sybil asked him.
"Ty... T-Tyler." Tyler answered.
"Well, T-T Tyler, you need to go back to your crew and tell 'em the beef with the Sons is done. If it continues, so will the turnover in leadership. There ain't nothing to think over. Go! " Sybil told him as she stared at him.
"Yeah, all right," Tyler said back as he stared back at Darnell's body.
"Well, go!" Sybil shouted.
"All right," Tyler said again before he and his boys left.
Chibs came up to her as she stared him in his face, no ounce of fear showed before August moved in front of her.
"What the hell is this?" Chibs asked his voice sternly.
Sybil ignored him before walking close to Jax, who stared down at her as she reached only to his neck.
"We'll be contacting you soon. We'll be seeing you Mr. Teller and Co," Sybil said as she looked back at August.
"Clean that mess up," Sybil told him before she and Jax shared one more look before she got in the car. The crew watched as August dumped the body with Laroy's body parts before he and Sybil left.
She was still in the car after August got out to let Damon know how she did. Her phone buzzed as she was alerted to the text. It was a text from Mellie.
To: Sybil
From: Mellie
-Fitz isn't sleeping. I know that your sister passed and I'm so sorry. But can you just this once, come back to see him?
Sybil read the text as she texted back.
To: Mellie
From: Sybil
-Of course, Mellie. Anything for you.
She got out of the car before going to Damon's office.
"Dad, I need to borrow the private jet," Sybil says as she walks in.
"Why, do Olivia need anything?" Damon asked his daughter.
"Just something that has to do with work," Sybil told him.
"Of course, just come back soon, we have to deal with Mr. Trager. An eye for an eye" Damon says.
"Daughter for a daughter. I'll see you soon, Dad." Sybil told him before shutting the door.
Sybil walks up the stairs as she walks to her room to pack some clothes. Her phone buzzed again.
To: Sybil
From: Mellie
-The state dinner is at 8 pm tonight. I will send you the invitation.
Once she finished packing, she walked down the stairs where one of her father's drivers took her to their hangar. She thanked the driver before she went to the plane. She sat down in the seat before the pilot let her know that they were on the way to Washington, DC.
WHITE HOUSE - STATE DINNER
Sybil walked and showed her invitation as she walked in. Her lace dress hugged her body as she walked with the most confidence. She said hello to certain people as she walked closer to the party entrance.
(Clothes reference)
Her appearance caught everyone's attention as her smile shined. She and Fitz caught each other eyes as he stared at her as he welcomed people for coming. He still eyed her as she sent a small smile to someone who was a client of O.P.A. He looked at Mellie, who tried to hide her knowing smile. He leans over to whisper to her.
"What is Sybil doing? I thought she was in Oakland." Fitz asked Mellie.
"I invited her. I'm happy she came back just in time." Mellie answered back as Sybil came towards them and she hugged Mellie, who breathed the word "Thank you." in her ear. She and Sybil smiled at each other as Fitz watched her.
"How are you, Bill? Good to see you. You two know each other." Fitz told the person in front of her.
"Sybil. You look lovely." Mellie said as she stared at Sybil's dress which was beautiful on her. Fitz tried not to stare at her curves that he loved so much. The curves that he kissed over, touched over, and gripped caused a stir inside him.
"Thank you, Mel. Thank you for this break. " Sybil told her with a small smile.
"Oh. Mm. Doesn't she look lovely?" Mellie asked Fitz who tried not to make his looks oblivious.
"Of course, yeah. I'm so happy you could come." Fitz said to her as she then shook his hands.
"Thank you, Mr. President. I'm happy to be here." She said the pleasantries as they both tried not to stare at each other before she went on shaking hands with the Prime Minster.
"Prime minister, delightful to see you. How is the new baby?" Sybil asked the prime minister, who smiled as he remembered she worked with Olivia. She went on as Billy, someone Olivia knew came up to her.
"Hello, you're Sybil, right?" Billy said to her.
"Umm! I'm sorry who are you" Sybil asked.
"Oh, I'm Billy. Olivia's friend from her time here." Billy answered.
"Oh, nice," Sybil said as Billy motioned her for a dance which she did to play it off.
They danced for a bit before Mellie and Fitz came over. Mellie had taken to Dancing with Billy and Sybil with Fitz. Cyrus watches from afar as they dance. Sybil wouldn't look at him. She could feel his hot touch as they danced.
"Don't look at me," Sybil told him as she looked over his shoulder.
"How was Oakland? Your father?" Fitz asked.
" My father's fine. There's some business I still have to handle before coming back." Sybil comments.
"I'm sorry about your sister," Fitz mentioned studying her face.
"Thank you." Sybil calmly said as Fitz and her swayed.
"I can't not look at you," Fitz said back on topic.
"The song will be over in a minute," Sybil told him.
"I still wouldn't like to see you go," Fitz says almost making her look at him.
"This is ridiculous. Everything is ridiculous. How did it all get so ...? Damn it, just look at me. Look at me. Meet me in our spot in ten minutes." Fitz continued.
"No." Sybil nonchalantly said.
"I am not spending any more time away from you." Fitz almost cooed at her as he subtly rubbed her waist.
"Stop it. We're in public. Look away." Sybil replies as she still looks over his shoulder.
"Look I know I don't have the right. I know. I know you don't trust me. I-I love you." Fitz noted.
"No, don't do this. Not here. Mel is 10 feet away." Sybil whispers to him.
"I love you," Fitz repeated.
"I heard you haven't been sleeping," Sybil mentioned to her.
"I can't stop thinking about you. " Fitz went along with the change of topic.
"I love you." He repeated.
"What about Amanda? I heard Olivia took her as a client." Sybil pointed out.
"I. Love. You. Our spot, ten minutes." Fitz whispered as Mellie and Cyrus looked on.
"You can't leave your state dinner." Sybil chimed.
"Watch me," Fitz whispered back.
Sybil met Mellie's eyes as Mellie nodded at her. Mellie knew many things early on. Her husband Fitz was in love with Olivia's cousin Sybil. Sybil always thought of her as a friend. She respected her as a woman once she overheard her and Fitz's talk before, she left him. Sybil was everything she wanted to be. Sybil always told her that she went through too much that made her into the woman she was. She was one of the people that knew the secret of Fitzgerald II.
Sybil waited in their spot waiting for Fitz. She heard grass crunching near her as she turned around.
"Cyrus, what are you doing here?" Sybil asked.
"I don't know what you and Olivia are getting at, but I don't take kindly to blackmail." Cyrus huffed at her.
"What are you talking about?" Sybil questioned.
" I never took you for the "hell hath no fury" type. It's a little trashy, but so is having an affair with a married man." Cyrus retorted.
"Cyrus. You don't want to do this. I'm not Olivia. I don't consider you a friend but don't think I won't fuck you up." Sybil calmly snapped. She had taken a life already today, so she doesn't mind adding another one.
"What happened, you danced, and he said he loved you? What, are you gonna go meet him right now? He's good. He has you in the palm of his hand. You're being played. You're being played by the best politician in the world. The upside? The tell-all book that you can write when you're old is "The President's whore" It's all very dirty and best seller. These very nice agents are gonna escort you off the White House grounds. And you can tell Olivia and Amanda Tanner that the meeting with the President is off." Cyrus told Sybil.
Sybil walked close to Cyrus, her face void of emotion which scared Cyrus some.
"Cyrus, you may have everyone else fooled but I see right through you. You're nothing but an Opportunist who likes to be bent over the desk at hand. You tell Olivia yourself." Sybil said as she stalked off. Sybil was secretly hurt by what he said to her.
She went back to her car as her dad's driver opened the door letting her in and leaving. Went back to Oakland to finish their revenge plot.
WHITE HOUSE - ROSE GARDEN
When Fitz finally came to the Rose Garden, he didn't see his love but Cyrus, who waited for him to twist the knife that was already left in his heart.
"Mr. President," Cyrus said.
"Cyrus, this is not a good time," Fitz told him as he looked around for Sybil.
"Sybil's not coming," Cyrus comments.
" What?" Fitz questioned.
"She was working with Olivia. She canceled the meeting with Amanda Tanner. She was playing with you, twisting the Knife. I'm sorry, sir." Cyrus switched the truth.
"I need to get back to the prime minister." Fitz sadly told him before leaving with Cyrus looking smug.
WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE
Fitz sat in his chair as he nursed a whiskey as Mellie came in.
"You okay?" Mellie asked him.
"Why did you invite her to the State Dinner?" Fit solemnly said.
"Sybil?" Mellie questioned.
" Why would you do that?" Fitz asked her.
"Because you needed to see her. I trust that tonight; you'll sleep like a baby." Mellie stated before leaving for his whiskey.
Oakland
Sybil still wore the dress as she was picked up to take back to the train tracks. She would be meeting her father there. She looked out the window, watching the trees go by. The car finally stops as she is let out to see Tig Trager, already handcuffed to the ground.
"Babygirl, you're here. Finally, we can get a move on." Damon tells her as Tig stares at the beautiful dark-skinned woman in the beautiful dress like she is an angel.
"Do you know who we are, Mr. Trager?" Damon states.
"Yeah," Tig remarked as he tried to remove the handcuffs.
" And do you know what happens now?" Damon told him.
"You kill me," Tig told them but this time Sybil says something.
"No. No. Mr. Trager " Sybil grabs his chin as she tilts his head so he can look her in her eyes.
"That'd be too easy." Sybil traced his jaw.
"An eye for an eye. Daughter for a daughter." Sybils tells him now Tig knew what she was talking about as Mr. Goodman opened the hatchet.
"Oh no. Oh no." Tig gasped.
"Dawny? Dawny, hey, Dawn. Baby? Oh, baby... Wake up! Oh, man... Oh, shit! No, baby... No! No! Hey, baby! Oh, baby, oh... Stop! Oh, baby!" Tig says as he sees his Babygirl in the hole. She was knocked out, but Tig's voice was slowly waking her up.
"Daddy?" Dawn coming too.
Sybil watches Tig plead for his daughter's life. He had to listen to the screams of his daughter as she had gasoline poured on her. Tig tried to plead but he was ignored. He sat on his knees in front of Sybil as he tried to still plead, trying to grab on her dress. Mr. Goodman flicked his lighter before letting go. He had to listen to his daughter die.
"Know my pain, Mr. Trager." Her father commented as he watched him lay his head on his daughter's legs. Dawn's screams still can be heard as he wailed.
"Mr. Trager, you and some of your crew have been ID'd for the murder of my daughter and the highway shooting. Detective Goodman will take you to the County. You should keep this vivid memory to yourself. I'd hate to see the same thing happen to your other daughter." Damon Pope told him.
Damon watched his daughter attempt to show compassion to Tig as she rubbed his head, trying to comfort him. His oldest though a leader was also weak to the wrongdoers. Her compassion was too big for her own good. He only hoped it wouldn't backfire on her.
Sybil lifted Tig's head as she made him look at her.
"I hope you learned about our world Mr. Trager. You took my sister, and we took your daughter's sister." Sybil said.
"We'll be seeing Mr. Trager," Sybil added before moving away.
"Get your cleaners out here," Damon instructed Mr. Goodman. Mr. Goodman nodded as they walked to the car. Tig's sadness became anger.
"I am gonna cut your ugly, black head off! I'm going to kill your other daughter as well till you have nothing!" Tig shouted as they got in the car and left.
Sybil stood by August watching Damon give the children ice-cream. The smiles on their little faces brought a smile to hers. She thought about her two that got away. She wasn't ready for children, especially with the governor, who had a wife and a life. Now he was president, she kind of regretted it. Her phone rang, as she looked down at her phone to see Olivia calling.
"Livy, what's up," Sybil says.
"Amanda's pregnant," Olivia told her making her pause. Her smile dropped as her world turned upside down.
