Chapter 16

Warehouse (Lodi, California)

They sat Clay down on a chair. He didn't know where he was, but he knew that whatever Sybil Pope wanted wasn't good. He wasn't scared of the bitch, but she was a pain in his side. She was teaching Jax the ropes. Ropes he knew Jax wasn't ready for. They removed the sack from his head to reveal Sybil, who stood before him in a suit with stiletto heels.

"Hello, Mr. Clay Morrow, how was the trip?" She asked him with a smirk.

"It was fun." He bluntly said it sarcastically with his usual bullshit smile on his face.

"I'm glad. Usually, when we give rides, someone ends up dying." Sybil stared at him.

"I'm sure. It seems like an ongoing thing with you people." He said it smugly. Sybil looked at Christopher, who punched Clay in the face.

Clay grunts as his lip starts to bleed. Sybil leans down on Clay, looking him straight in the eyes.

"You are only alive because me and my father, Jax, need you. After Galen, you are going to die slowly and painfully. Don't think to run away because I have eyes everywhere, from coast to coast and continent to continent. I don't think you'll get away with setting up my sister. You started this war, Mr. Morrow, when you lied to Laroy, and my sister had to pay the price. So this is how it's going to go: you're going to be a good sport, and you are going to listen to Jax. If I hear a peep that you were defiant, you will die. Your life is mine now. Mine to exploit, to tame. So be on good behavior, pet." Sybil says as she grips his head back, dabbing his lip with blood. He stared at her with fear and worry. She was very unpredictable. She let him go before she looked at her crew.

"You know what to do. Leave that face pretty." Sybil said before leaving as her phone started ringing. She walked away as she could hear Clay grunt and shout in pain. She pulled her phone out, answering it as she heard Clay shout in pain.

"Sybil's phone. I can't talk right now." Sybil said with the phone in her ear.

"Sybil, come to Washington right now," Olivia said it in a rush.

"What? Why?" Sybil questioned.

"Just get here." Olivia hung up, and Sybil sighed. This family. She went to her car as Michael opened the door.

"Micheal, make sure the pilot is ready. I have to go back to Washington." Sybil said as Michael nodded.

"10-4, Ms. Pope," Michael said he was closing the door on the phone as he went around the car.

Olivia Pope and Associates (Washington, D.C.)

Sybil was the last person to arrive, as she got off the elevator to see everyone. Harrison was first to hug her back and Abby was next. She hugs Quinn next.

"I see you're back, Quinn," Sybil said as she sat down.

" So, why are we here, Livy?" Sybil stared at the man on the table. The man waved his hands for them to cut off their cell phones. She and Harrison looked at each other with a 'this nigga crazy' look.

"Why are you all just standing there?" The guy said this to Oliv as he looked at them.

"Livy, who the fuck is?" Sybil stared at the man before looking at Olivia.

"What in the hell?" Harrison started as Abby inputted.

"We eat on that table. Liv."

"This is Artie Hornbacher. Four hours ago, Artie stole this from the N.S.A." Olivia stated this as Sybil facepalmed.

"Liv.." Sybil looked at her.

"You stole from the National Security Agency?" Huck was questioned while standing by Sybil, who gave him a side hug.

"I'm not in this." Harrison scoffs before Olivia replies.

"You're in this."

"What is it?" Huck asked.

"It's called Thorngate. It's everything. Everything. It blows "we the people" to pieces. It removes the stars and the stripes on the flag." The man rambled before Liv said his name.

"Artie."

"Sorry," Artie said with a frown.

"He says he's got evidence the N.S.A.'s spying on American citizens," Olivia explained.

"What, like spying, like spying on American citizens, here at home? That is everything." Huck wondered as Olivia nodded.

"Damn," Sybil says.

"I told you. Check him out." Olivia said before that she made Sybil follow her in her office.

"So why am I really here, Liv?" Sybil said as she crossed her arms.

"They know about the late-night calls to Fitz. Have you been talking to Fitz?" Olivia asked her cousin.

"We have spoken a few times, that's all. You know I've been busy lately." Sybil explained.

"Well, they know about it." Olivia stated.

"Livy, you really think I care about what the government has to say about me talking to the president," Sybil smartly told her.

"Well, the public might. Then what?" Olivia asked.

"Let's just finish this so I can get back to California." Sybil rolled her eyes at her before she walked off as Abby started his bio sheet.

"Arthur "Artie" Hornbacher is a low-level N.S.A. data entry specialist. Kept the same job, same salary, for 16 years, which is either admirable or pathetic, depending on your definition of success. " Abby explained when Sybil sat down, crossing her legs.

"Easy menial job that allows him time to follow his true passion as an online crusader." Harrison stated, making Abby look at him.

"Against what?" Abby questioned.

"Every coffee chain in America. According to Artie, the decaffeination process is a lie and a coordinated government/corporate deception." Harrison did the crazy whistle. Sybil snorted, laughing.

Sybil stood by the door as she watched Artie sprout out more bullshit about the government.

"I was doing data entry, the same thing I always do, grouping batches by source and entry point... Riyadh, Tel Aviv, Cairo, Milan...But then this one batch...Suddenly, it's Columbus, Philadelphia, and Portland. The addresses? They're... they're all domestic. Do you know what that means? Big brother. The eye in the sky. Millions of Americans are being watched right now, and they have no idea." Artie paced before pointing at the roof to make his point.

"You told your supervisors about this?" Olivia asked as she sent Artie a worried look.

"Of course I did, repeatedly, and they said they'd look into it, and then suddenly, I'm being followed. So I took it, okay? I took proof of Thorngate. Maybe it was a mistake, but..." Artie started causing Huck and Sybil to scoff.

"Maybe?"

"But I did it, so now you have to hide me, because these people... They won't just kill me. They'll make it look like I never existed." Artie continued before getting more information from Abby.

"He's also lactose-intolerant, allergic to grass, honey, strawberries, and peanuts, is a type 1 diabetic, and believes that vaccines are demonic."

"It's just a report on border security." Olivia said as they looked at the computer.

"It's just the firewall. The N.S.A. protected this program with everything in their arsenal, in case it ever got stolen, like right now." Artie looked at Olivia before they were now sitting down.

"Seriously, Liv, he's certifiable. We can't take this guy on as a client." Abby told Olivia, while Quinn disagreed.

"Just because he's weird doesn't mean he's crazy."

"He thinks the N.S.A.'s trying to kill him." Abby pointed it out.

"I mean, the government killed people for a lot less." Sybil retorted as Quinn pointed like'see'.

"My story didn't make any sense at first." Quinn told Olivia, while Abby said.

"Still doesn't."

"Everyone thought that I was crazy, too." Quinn continued.

"Still do." Abby said with a taunting smile. Sybil looked at her before saying.

"Shut up, Abby, damn.

"Might be time to poke the hive." Olivia said, looking at Sybil with a look.

"Do you want me to come?" Sybil said.

"No, but I'll keep you updated." Olivia shook her head while they all went home.

Olivia Pope and Associates (Washington, D.C.)

Sybil stood next to Harrison as they looked at the file when Quinn got a call from Olivia.

"Get him out." - Olivia.

"It's Olivia. She says, Get him out." Quinn told them before Sybil put her hand out for the phone.

"Do you want me to take him to the place?" Sybil said as she put on her coat and gestured for them to get ready.

"Whatever you have to do, they knew he was data entry. She didn't react. She didn't even blink when I told her." Olivia said, making Sybil nod.

"They know where he is! They'll kill him. Get our client to safety right now!" Olivia shouted. Sybil and the crew rushed out to get Huck and Artie before they left.

SAFEHOUSE (Washington, D.C.)

Sybil sat watching as Artie paced again, talking to Huck and Olivia.

"This is the least safe house I've ever heard of." He paced around, uneasy.

"Be lucky we are helping you," Sybil stated, saying that she was making Olivia give her a look.

"Windows?" Artie pointed at the windows before Huck responded.

"I've got a scrambler jamming every frequency. There's no way to see inside here." Huck stated this as he plugged the drive into his computer.

"Except, of course, using eyesight." Artie stated it angrily.

"Can I shoot him?" Sybil looked at him like she wanted to kill him for talking to Huck like that.

"No. Okay, enough." Olivia sternly said to him after Sybil gave him the mean face.

"It's decrypted." Huck said as he stared at the computer, typing and moving the mouse.

"Let's see this thing." Olivia said as she looked at the computer.

"Holy," Huck says as he looks at the screen, ready for them.

"I told you." Artie pointed it out.

"How does it work?" Sybil asked as she appeared behind Olivia over Huck's other shoulder.

"Uh, give me a name." Huck states.

"Someone, you know. Someone is hard to crack." As his fingers started typing.

"Cyrus Rutherford Beene." Olivia called out as Huck typed his name before the machine searched, getting Cyrus in his office. Causing everyone to gasp.

"Holy Shit. Is that?" Sybil started.

"The White House." Harrison finished.

"West Wing," Abby says.

"20 feet from the oval office." Olivia stated, standing straight up as she and Sybil started having a non-audio-able conversation.

"The chief of staff." Quinn probed.

"Nobody's safe." Artie says he's happy; they don't think he's crazy.

"Is there audio?" Sybil asked as Huck worked his magic, and they could hear what he was saying.

"I know you know how he hates to hunt."- Cyrus

"He hates it." - Cyrus

"He only does it to get a chance to spend time with you."- Cyrus

(Hollis) Make sure he knows he doesn't have to gum up his boots to know he has my support.

"Let's see who else is there." Olivia said as Huck started to look.

"There's another phone signal I can pull up." Huck said as he pulled up Hollis, who was on his phone.

"He still likes to golf, right?"- Hollis

"We ought to get him out to Andrews more often."- Hollis

"That bastard." Sybil said before Olivia demanded,

"Shut it down."

"'Course it ain't much to speak of, but I'm sure the man could use a..."- Hollis

"Huck." Olivia urged.

"Long, frustrating walks to ease his mind from time to time." - Hollis

"Huck." She urged again.

"Liv, he's trying. Calm down." Sybil gave her a pointed look. The computer went down as it turned to a blue screen.

"What just happened?" Artic frantically asked.

"Wh-where'd it go?"

"It self-destructed. I can't bring it back up." Huck said it with a defeated look.

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Come on. Did you try the "AArtie"?

"It's dead. Okay, if we want to see it again, I have to hack into the N.S.A.'s firewall." Huck looked at Artie, but before Artie could say something, Sybil gave him a look before asking Huck.

"How long would that take?" Huck thought about it, closing his eyes as he did so.

"Um, 22 days."

"22 days?!" Artie exclaimed.

Olivia went over to talk to Artie as they watched before he said a name.

"Her name's Monica Ocampo. She was on the development team." Artie finally said.

"Yes, but please, I don't want her to come into any danger." Artie continued before Sybil cut in.

"The minute you stole that drive, you put everyone of you in danger." Artie had a sad look on his face after she scolded him.

"She's a good person." He responded.

"We are also good people. And we are putting our lives on the line with this also." Sybil scoffs.

"Find her." Olivia stated that Harrison and Abby started to leave before Quinn asked if they needed any help.

"We're good. Thanks, Lindsay." Abby says this before leaving. Sybil rolled her eyes. Olivia put on her jacket before saying she needed to go somewhere. Sybil nodded.

Oval Office/White House (Washington, D.C.)

Cyrus walked into the oval office as Fitz looked over his paperwork.

"Someone stole a little something from the N.S.A. They think they may have themselves a whistleblower." Cyrus said as he tossed the paper on the desk, making Fitz look at it.

"Concerning what?" he asked.

"Thorngate. Your special friend. You used it a few times to look for Sybil." Cyrus sassily told him, making Fitz roll his eyes at him before sitting down.

"Are we on top of this?" Fitz questioned.

"There's a problem." Cyrus stated, looking at Fitz.

"There's always a problem." Fitz scoffs.

"He's got himself some interesting representation." Cyrus alluded to Olivia.

"Are we sure? This doesn't sound like Liv's neighborhood." Fitz sighed.

"She's nosing around senators on the intel committee." Cyrus pointed this out. He looked at the picture to see Olivia and Senator Davis before putting it down.

"Senator Davis." Fitz stated.

"Sir, Davis, and Olivia..." Cyrus started.

"I don't care, Cy. Anything else." Fitz asked.

"Looked at the next picture, sir." Cyrus said as he looked at Fitz, and he saw the picture of Sybil getting off her private jet.

"Sybil's in town." Fitz said as he wondered why she didn't call him. He stared at her picture with adoration and longing.

"Yes sir." Cyrus stated, watching Fitz lean back before Fitz spoke,

"I want this handled. I want the screws tightened on this, Cy, and I want it done yesterday." Fitz plops the picture down in anger.

"You're ticking, sir." Cyrus pointed this out as he got out of his seat.

"What?" He (Fitz) questioned, looking back at Cyrus.

"You're ticking. You know how I know you're ticking? Up until you saw this picture, you'd been happy. Lately, you've been happy. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed it, not because of the happiness, but because...It's been weird, like seeing a grandma in a bikini or a Democrat with a Bible. You're happy, but we both know that happy people are rarely actually happy, unless they're morons. You are a brilliant man, a Rhodes Scholar, and a PhD, which means you're acting happy because she won't take your calls, and you won't admit that it bothers you. God knows what else goes on with the Shakespearean drama about the women in your life. You're ticking, sir. You're a b*mb stuffed in a Teddy bear, waiting to explode." Cyrus rambled.

"Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick." Cyrus ticks like a clock.

"Stop it!" Fitz sternly said.

"You're wrong We've talked on multiple occasions; she's just busy with her father." Fitz shook his head, looking at Cyrus.

"Then why are you upset, sir?" Cyrus questioned.

Fitz wouldn't answer; it was quiet until Cyrus spoke again.

"How do I defuse the bomb, sir?"

Outside Sybil's House (Washington, D.C.)

Sybil's heels clicked on the floor as she spoke to Christopher on the phone.

"So did you drop him off at the hospital?" Sybil asked.

"Yes, Ms. Pope." Chrisopher answered.

"Good." Sybil smiled through the phone.

"Keep an eye on him. The sooner he slips up, the better. Check out Rita Roosevelt also. Let me know how she is doing." Sybil said before she looked up to see Fitz's main secret service men standing at her door. She took a breather before she met the two with a nod. She spoke back into the phone as she walked over.

"I'll call you later," she said before hanging up the phone.

"Tom. Hal." Sybil stated as the men nodded back, and as always, Tom looked her up and down before responding.

"Ms. Pope," Tom said before they escorted her to the sedan.

Nature/ Woods

Fitz stood, aiming his gun at the ducks as they tried to fly away. He shot the gun, missing the duck as it flew away. Cyrus and Hollis laughed at his missed shot.

"Not bad, huh?" Fitz smiled like he hadn't missed a shot.

"Actually, fairly pathetic, Mr. President." Hollis joked as Cyrus, who was laughing too, said,

"You talk a good game, Fitzy, but you couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside of a barn. I swear."

"It doesn't look like I'll be having duck for dinner." Fitz joked, while Hollis still laughed at his joke.

"That's for sure." Cyrus looked behind him to see Tom, who nodded at him as he made up an excuse to get the others away.

"Okay, let's get ourselves some coffee back at the lodge and give the president a little time on his own." Fitz looked at him, confused.

"Time on my own? What am I going to do with that?" Fitz wondered as Cyrus whispered.

"To commune with nature, sir. I know how you enjoy that." Cyrus said as he looked behind him at Tom, making Fitz turn to look at him.

"Yeah, I'll see you guys in a bit." Fitz waved them off before looking at Tom.

"Where is she?" He and Tom made their way to the car, which he opened, also showing Sybil.

"Get out of the car." Fitz said this could not be done with his gun on his shoulder.

"No," Sybil said, crossing her arms.

"Get out of the car." Fitz repeated this to her.

"No, and I don't appreciate being summoned." Sybil looked angry.

"Get out of the car." Fitz repeated it again, getting so angry. He was about to scream. Sybil was being a brat right now, and as much as he used to love that about her,". Today was not the damn time.

"Why? So you can shoot me?" She said this as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Get of out of the damn car, Sybil!" Fitz shouted at her. She looked at him in shock while he walked away. She set her bag down before going after him. Because who did he think he was talking to?

"You can not talk to me like that! Why am I here? I am not a dog." He motioned for her to sit down. She stayed standing up, and he told her to sit down again as she huffed. Fitz went to get the boots he had for her. She crossed her arms, being a brat at her age. He removed her heel before putting on and tying the boot before moving on to the second one. He never answered her or anything as she stared at him tying her boot. She decided to play with him a little bit as she started to spread her legs like she was crossing her legs, flashing him.

"Oops, Tom and Hal could've told me where they were taking me. I could've dressed for it." Sybil told him as he pinched her, causing her to rub her calf, making this the last tie.

"Ow," Sybil voiced. Fitz tried to hide a smile.

"Shut up," Fitz told her before walking away.

"Where are we going?" Sybil stood up after him as he walked away.

"We are hunting," he replied before walking away.

"Do I get a gun?" Sybil asked.

"I'm not giving you a gun." He says this as she follows him. The secret service followed them.

"That doesn't seem fair." She responded.

"Life isn't fair." Fitz shouted as they walked further into the room.

"What is your problem?" Sybil wondered.

"What is mine? I don't have a problem." Fitz paused before finishing.

"Then why are secret service agents physically removing me from my home at 5:00 in the morning? Is this because I didn't tell you I was in town. Well I'm sorry. You're not my father; I don't have to tell you everything." Sybil explained, making him stop.

"Because they do what I say. I'm not your father; I don't want to be. Especially with the things that we used to do. You had another name that you seemed to like a lot." Fitz's husky voice told her before walking away.

"I don't do what you say." Sybil responded, not trying to blush at the second part, not like he could see it anyway.

"Why are you helping Artie Hornbacher?" Fitz questioned.

"And I don't discuss Olivia's clients with you." Sybil responded.

"You don't discuss anything with me anymore." Fitz stated.

"That's a lie. I do explain stuff to you. What you want to hear is my life story. You already know it. You want to hear that I don't have relationships because of our time together, but I am slowly liking a president in his own making. See, I just told you something. And what else?I'm into poly; see something else? I have fucking daddy issues. another one. What could you possibly want more of?" Sybil told him with a straight face as he stared at his love.

"Are you angry that I haven't been taking a few of your phone calls or because I'm helping Artie Hornbacher?" Sybil questioned.

"I'm angry because you are committing treason. I am angry that you're behaving like a traitor to your country." Fitz faced her again.

"To my country or to you?" Sybil asked him, making him turn around and continuing to walk away as she followed.

"Oh, come on. This isn't personal." Fitz rolled his eyes at her.

"I'm standing in the middle of the forest; God knows where, so you can yell at me? That feels personal." Sybil shouted at him as she kept pace with him.

"I do not care how it feels. You're harboring a fugitive. It's criminal behavior." Fitz stated as they followed the treeline.

"You and I both well know what Thorngate is, what Thorngate does, and who you are going to use it on. You have no idea what you're talking about. You're using it to spy on Americans." Sybil remarked.

"What we use it for is highly classified, and it involves anti-terrorism," Fitz explained.

"Anti-terrorism, Olivia told me. They know about the late-night phone calls." She told him as they stopped at the shoreline. She took a breather.

"They know those calls came from the White House." She spoke, making him turn around.

"Where are you getting this? Your little whistleblower, Artie, is the guy who stole Thorngate from the N.S.A." Fitz questioned.

"I am pretty sure the Supreme Court would consider this administration spying on its citizens criminal behavior," Sybil replied with a hand on her hips. With her heels, she reached his chest, but here she was in boots and trying to look scary. Fitz could only laugh at her.

"I am protecting my country. You are dabbling in national security issues. You're upsetting the C.I.A. and N.S.A., my guys at the state department, and Olivia using old boyfriends to dig up secrets on the intelligence committee." Fitz walked up to her as he told her this.

"I don't need to know the history of Olivia's old boyfriends." Sybil waved as Fitz grabbed her arm.

"Then let's go through yours. But I wouldn't say relationships right; I'll say what flings." Fitz stated before naming.

"Jason Deluca from 2006 to 2008, August Marks from 2005 to 2009, and Rio Lopez from 2010 through 2011 (Marcus Rollins, 98 through 2004) or whoever else you had a fling with. Your daddy's issues were so big that all the men, including me, were older. It seems to me you were building a list of powerful men who would be at your beck and call. Did you screw Jason again after he helped me with our sex tape as a thank you?" Fitz stated as he pointed between him and her, making her head go low as he stared at her.

"You did, didn't you?" Fitz said he wanted to shoot something.

"What do you want me to say? I fucking helped you. You should at least say thank you." Sybil told him in his face as he stared into her eyes and lips.

"Fine. You want me to say thank you. Thank you for leaving me to fiending for you. To feel your touch, to hear your moans, to be squeezed by you. I want to watch you swell with my child. So, thank you for drowning me into falling in love with you." He felt so emotional after speaking that they both stood in silence. It wasn't until her eyes flooded with tears that he comforted her.

"Sybil.." Fitz started to say that once he stared at her teary eyes, he put his gun down, going over to her as she wiped away her tears. He hugged her, offering comfort as he whispered that He was sorry to her as she held him back. He kissed her on the lips as they both got into it. He backs her up against the tree, and he begins to kiss her neck, making her moan. Tom and Hal nodded to each other as they gave them some privacy.

He picked her up as they kissed and he pushed her skirt up, ripping the thin stockings, giving him access as they gave into the angry sex that came after. Tom and Hal tried to focus on giving them their privacy. Nothing but moans and grunts followed after. They wouldn't be surprised if Fitz wore a happy face for the rest of the trip.

Meanwhile, IN Charming (California)/ Sybil's House

3 hours after she left for Washington, D.C.

Jax and Bobby rode on their motorcycles, following directions that they got from August. The neighborhood they rode through was one of the good parts. They pulled into the driveway of a black-and-white two-story house. The place looked good. She took care of it. They parked their motorcycle before getting off.

"You sure this the place?" Bobby asked as they walked over to her door.

"That's what August Marks said," Jax stated as they walked up to her door, only to see a note.

I went out of town for a few days.

                                                                                   -Sybil

"She went out of town," Jax said as he read the letter.

"Ms. Pope is busy this week," Bobby told him.

"Let me call her," Jax said as he went to call Sybil, which she didn't answer.

"Nothing." Jax shook his head.

"Well, tomorrow, my guess is to text her. See when she comes back." Bobby stated this before they went back to their motorcycles before leaving.

Diosa Nente (Charming, California)

5 hours before Sybil and Fitz's meeting

The next day, Jax went to see how Diosa was doing. Walking in to see many of the ex-pornstars and croweaters along with Diosa girls fixing up the place. He nodded to one the girls as he walked in.

"Hey, darling," Jax said with a smile as she greeted him back.

"Hey."

He walked further into the building, and he looked around before seeing Lyla, who walk over.

"Hey." Jax greeted as Lyla greeted back coming to stand by him.

"Hey, I was just showing the guys around." Lyla smiled as Chibs and Tig along with Bobby walked from the back.

"Jackie boy, this place is fantastic!" Chibs smiled as he flirted with the brown-skinned Diosa worker, who smiled at him.

"I'm so excited." Tig agreed following him.

Jax turned to talk to Lyla. Even though, he hated lying to Lyla about Opie's death. She seems happier.

"Are you doing good?" Jax questions as Lyla smiled before nodding,

"Yeah. Nero's a good guy." before he tapped her back as she was leaving. He saw Nero walking out with a box, greeting him as he put it down.

" Hey!" Jax greeted with a head nod.

"Morning," Nero stated as he looked at him.

"Looks like Lyla's working out, huh?" Jax nodded in her direction.

"Oh, yeah, she's great." Nero agreed.

"Any flack from Carla?" Bobby asked as Nero turned to answer him. They didn't know that Carla had killed herself in front of him and Gemma. So, he played it off.

"No. I'm pretty sure she's moved on. I just got a call from that other crazy chick in our lives." Nero responded before turning to look at Jax before saying the last bit.

"Shit. What now?" Jax asked before they all left.

Motel In Charming (California)

2 1/2 hours before Fitz and Sybil meeting

Jax and the boys along with Nero pulled into the motel parking lot as Gemma stood outside. As he body language made a 'why you had to tell him' type of motion. The boys parked before taking off their helmet, making her close her motel's door.

"Well, we'll see if the manager saw anything." Bobby told Jax before him, Tig  left , once Jax gave his nod.

"The Armenians run the chop shops around here, so I got my guys looking for the SUV." Nero explained as they walked over to Gemma.

"If I wanted them to come, I would've called them." Gemma sassed whispered  before she was confronted by Jax.

"What the hell happened?" Jax asked his mother.

"I crashed here last night and someone stole my Caddy." Gemma lied.

"Someone?" Jax wondered before going around his mother into her room. Jax tossed the bed sheet off the bed as he surveyed the room. He picked up the liquor bottle before stepping out to show her it.

"Since when do you drink banana vodka?" Jax sternly said as Gemma avoided looking at him. Nero asked her as they made eye contact.

"What happened?" as he waited for her to explain. Jax walked back out as he angrily looked at his mother.

"I, um... woke up to take a piss, and, uh... he stole my wallet and my SUV." Gemma explained before looking at Jax.

"I don't remember his name." She told him making Jax shake his head.

"Jesus Christ. Who are you?" He now sounded more like the parent than the child.

"This is why I called you 'cause I don't need that shit." Gemma said as she walked away from Jax because she knew she would get sympathy from Nero.

"I'm sorry you got pulled into this. She's a goddamn train wreck." Jax spoke to Nero after she went in her motel room.

"She's still your mother, see. Respect that." Nero took up for her before continuing.

"You know, she's caught between a husband she hates and a kid she thinks hates her. Women like your mom, Jax-- they don't do so good without family." Jax nodded along with what he was saying before Nero's phone started ringing.

"Hmm? Go easy." Nero said before answering the phone and walking away. Jax was still pissed before Tig called his name.

"Jax. Clerk didn't remember nothing. He said that whoever stayed in that room paid cash for it." Tig stated as Jax blew out a breathe of air. Nero came back to them.

"Hey, listen. My guys-- they found the Escalade. And the dude is there." Nero said to them. Jax turn to look at his mother before Bobby spoke to him.

"Go. I'll get her home." Before Jax nodded leaving both him and Gemma. Bobby's phone ring causing him to open it.

"Hello, who is this?" Bobby said into the phone as Gemma watched.

"We have a Clay Morrow in the hospital. He told us to contact you." The nurse said into the phone.

"What? Clay in the hospital." Bobby said as Gemma straightened her back.

"Which hospital?" Bobby asked.

"St. James Hospital in Lodi." The nurse responded.

"Okay, we are on the way," Bobby said as he and Gemma went to his bike.

"After 30 minutes are up, call Jax," Bobby said as his bike came to life and they rode off to Lodi.

1 houre before Sybil and Fitz meeting

Nero, Jax, Chibs, and Tig walked up to Nero's guys as they stood with one wiping his hands on a towel.

"He showed up an hour ago with the Escalade." Renaldo, One of Nero's guys told them.

"He's part of a crew. Scams older broads, jacks their shit. Cocky prick. " Vargos explained to them as Nero nodded.

"So this may go hard, eh?" Nero stated.

"No worries. Just don't do it here, huh?" Vargos replied before the guy started coming out as the Nero guy on the left pointed it out.

"That's him."

They started a whole wild goose chase for the guy as the guy ran the car out the place. They blew his tires using their guns as they spoke to him.  They took back Gemma's stuff before leaving. As they walked back to their motorcycles, Jax's phone started ringing.

"Yeah," Jax answered the phone.

"Clay in the Hospital, at Lodi. ST. James Hospital." Gemma said before hanging up.

Jax pulled his phone from his ear, before telling the boys.

"Clay's in the hospital." He said before they followed him to Lodi on their motorcycles. Jax could only hope he didn't die. He still needed him.
