Chapter 15
Sybil's Home (Charming, California)
Sybil was awoken by the sound of her phone ringing. She tossed and turned before she tapped the side table to get to her phone. With her eyes closed, she grabbed her phone, answering the phone with a tired voice.
"Sybil's phone. It's late." Sybil's voice ranged out into the phone.
"Hello, Sybil," Fitz says with a smile.
"Fitz, it's late. 23 people." Sybil maneuvered herself to lay back first on the bed.
"What?" Fitz wondered.
"When you stay late in the oval, there are 23 members of your staff that have to stay late, too." Sybil rubbed her eyes as she spoke.
"I'm reading briefs on east Sudan," Fitz stated leaning back in his office chair.
"They can't go home until you do. How are you?" Sybil asked.
"Richard, Jo, Marybeth, Ted, Hank, that guy with the briefcase handcuffed to his wrist, Jose the chef, Kayla, Susan..." She called out the names that she knew.
"Susan went to the state department and the briefcase guy is Rashid," Fitz remarked with a smile.
"Well, I'm just saying that 23 hardworking Americans are staying late at night so you can call me." Sybil leaned up, sitting against her headboard.
"You want me to hang up? How are you?" Fitz asked.
"Well, I'm helping a biker club build an empire via dad and a married ex-boyfriend calling me." Sybil sigh.
"The Mc, you talked about?" Fitz questioned.
"Yeah, juicy stuff. Thank you for your help with the Rico case." Sybil replied.
"You're welcome. They box the case up and put it on the completed shelf. No one will touch it. This MC, how bad is it?" Fitz's husky voice told her.
"They have potential. Their leader Jax Teller is their president. He's loyal, smart, brave. He has the skills of something important." Sybil tells Fitz. Fitz could almost hear the admiration in her voice.
"It sounds like he caught your attention." Fitz's jealousy could be heard in his voice.
"Maybe he did. We both have to keep up the appearances. Me single and you the president of the United States of America married to the sweet first lady Mellie." Sybil states.
"Me and Mellie have separated. I visit her to keep up appearances like Olivia told me to, but we've been separated." Fitz assured.
"How is she?" Sybil asked changing the subject.
"She's Mellie x 2." Fitz answered.
"Well, she is pregnant." Sybil tells him.
"I wished it was you." Fitz spoke. Sybil paused with a sad face.
"Um... well Fitz, it's getting late. I have stuff to do in the morning." Sybil sighed before she hanged up. Sybil laid back in her bed after plugging back her phone. She felt sadness just thinking about her children. She started to cry as she thought about them. Rubbing her stomach for a wannabe shadow bump to appear. She cried herself to sleep.
Tara's Pov/Third's Pov (Jax's House)
Tara got the boys ready for the day. Sitting at the table after giving Abel his breakfast and feeding Thomas, from his bottle. She wondered how she could get Otto not to talk. Tara had read about Roosevelt's wife almost hurt in home invasion on the newspaper in front of her. Gemma had come walking in, from sleeping.
"Morning." Gemma chorused.
"Morning." Tara chorused back.
Gemma walked near to coffee maker to fix herself some coffee.
"Sorry, I just, um... I fell asleep on the daybed." Gemma says pouring the coffee. Tara shook her head.
"I passed out on the couch. Jax put us all to bed." Tara tells her.
"Hmm. Where is he?" Gemma asked walking to sit across from her.
"Oakland. Club business." Tara replies still feeding Thomas.
"Do you know who's in town?" Gemma asked.
"Who?" Tara wondered.
"Sybil Pope. Damon Pope's daughter." Gemma says before speaking to her grandson, who was drawing on a piece of paper.
"Hey, baby."
"Why is she here?" Tara asked.
"Hell, if I know but the Tart interrupted a meeting. Turns out that Anyone now can join the club. Jax was telling Bobby that he wanted to put the Grim Bastards in the club." Gemma stated.
"Interesting." Tara said.
"I have some meetings off-site today. Want to stop by and check on them?" Tara added.
"Okay. Thanks." Gemma nodded before looking at the heading on the newspaper.
Sheriff's Wife attacked in Home Invasion
"Jesus Christ." Gemma sighed.
"I know. Rita's okay. They said that a group of men rescued her." Tara confided.
"Do they know who helped her?" Gemma probed.
"No, I don't think Eli questioned her yet." Tara says before they were cut off by the cell phone. Gemma got up to answer the phone as Tara watched.
"Jax's home phone." Gemma said hearing chuck's voice.
"Chucky, what.. what happened?" Gemma tried to hear Chucky rushed voice.
"Gemma, you need to come see this. At Teller's AutoStop" Chucky said before hanging up.
"I need to get to the shop." Gemma rushed before leaving. Tara watched her before finishing getting ready.
Oakland's Car Lot (Oakland, California)
Jax and Damon sat in his limo as the spoke. The car lot was empty expected for their right-hand men.
"This sheriff already thinks these attacks are connected to us. After this, he's gonna have gang task force up our ass. Complicates everything." Jax explained.
"None of these attacks are coming out of my camp. I know that for sure. I'm sure Sybil told you." Damon responds.
"She did. Clay is responsible for it. I just need to find out who's his lackeys and quickly." Jax remarked with a calm voice.
"I'm sure she explained that to you too. What new riders have you gotten in this month. When did the trouble start." Damon started.
"Bad apples come in when we least expect it. What do we do to bad apples?" Damon continued. Jax looked for him to finished.
"They get put down. But I'm sure my daughter, already handled that." Damon finished.
"So, she knows?" Jax asked.
"The thing about my daughter is. She gets her book smarts from her mother and her street smarts from me. She knows as sooner or later; you'll see it for yourself." Damon smirk with proudness in his eyes. Jax thought over it before giving him the money.
"50. Half of our last mule." Jax started.
"You're an impressive young man." Damon says putting the money down.
"Yeah, I get that a lot." Jax stated watching him. Sybil said the same thing but hers felt like admiration.
" I got a proposal for you and SAMCRO." Damon button his jacket.
"Does it involve children and bonfires?" Jacket smartly told him.
"You are currently hauling back 20, 30 keys?" Damon says.
"30." Jax confided.
" If you were to double your haul-back, say 60 keys, I could move half of that in a day." Damon offered with a calm voice.
"Where?" Jax wondered.
"Reno, parts of Vegas. I'd have the Niners distribute. No bigger risk for you. 30, 40, 100 keys, it's all the same trafficking charge." Damon answered.
"What's in it for us?" Jax questioned.
"I pay you another 100 on top of what the cartel gives you. We don't take a bite out of any of it." Damon answers giving him back the 50.
"I don't know. My crew wants out of the drug game." Jax told him reluctantly.
"What do you want? Listen, you talk to the cartel, run it past your club. In the interim, I'll arrange a sit-down with the Mayans, Lin and the Niners. If you decide it makes sense for SAMCRO, you take the meeting, bring everybody up to speed. If you pass on the deal, we keep things as is. Fair enough?" Damon told him.
"Yeah. Okay." Jax agreed.
"I'll also kick back two percent of my profits on the 30 keys to you. Gentlemen's agreement, just between us." Damon did a short smile.
"You make millions in real estate and other legit trade. Why do you still risk this shit? Is it the rush?" Jax asked him.
"I'm just a businessman, son. And my most profitable and most reliable business is narcotics. Always has been. learned how to do it the right way. With the right people, there is no risk. You let me know." Damon replied before giving Jax the Go to leave out his presents. Jax got out, his phone ringing as he does. He answered the phone.
"Yeah." Jax greeted.
"Jax, you need to come see this." Chucky tells him.
"What?" Jax questioned.
"At Teller Morrow. Come right away." Chucky rushed before hanging up.
Jax walked to the boys.
"Hey, we need to go. I don't know what's going on, but Chuck just called. We need to get to the club house quick." Jax rushed as they all got on their bikes and drove to Teller Morrow Auto shop.
Teller-Morrow Auto shop (SAMCRO CLUBHOUSE)
By the time, the boys made it to the shop, it was pledged with cop cars and a corners unit. The boys couldn't go in, so they had to park outside the gate. They went over to see everyone staring at the gate. And to their surprise but not shock. GOGO, Greg and Frankie laid on the fence with the sign.
Weeds get weeded out.
The scene was gruesome. The fence rails impaled their dead body as blood drips down on their car lot.
"Jackie boy, what is this?" Chibs asked. Gemma and Chucky walked nearby. Jax couldn't believe his eyes. He remembered what Pope told him.
"The thing about my daughter is. She gets her book smarts from her mother and her street smarts from me. She knows as sooner or later; you'll see it for yourself."
But I'm sure my daughter, already handled that."
"I guess we know who was causing the home invasions. Weed out the weeds, the rest will fall in line. That's what Sybil told me." Jax comments as they could hear the fire department as it traveled in.
"Frankie, GOGO and Greg was the weeds." Bobby said as they watched the fire department get down the bodies.
"Why would they do this?" Gemma asked.
"We have a traitor in the club, and we all know who. He's been trying to sabotage me since I became president. Trying to get Charming not to trust us." They knew who Jax was talking about as they looked at each other.
"Sybil said she would handle the home invasions and she did. Even if they were our brothers, they went rogue for their own gain, and I won't tolerate that from anyone." Jax explained.
Jax walked away pissed as they watched him.
Charming Hospital
Unser had come to Eli, who stood outside as they checked on his wife and baby. Eli stayed right by his wife's side. He will protect her this time if he has to kill someone to do it.
"How's she doing?" Unser asked Eli as he stood next to him.
"She's okay, just have to check on the baby. Making sure no effects happened." Eli responded.
"I heard that three bodies were found on the gate hanging on Teller-morrow Auto shop." Unser confided in Eli. It was the least he could do. Gemma had called him earlier to tell him after not hearing from her in couple days.
"Was it gang related?" Eli questioned.
"Seem like someone wanted to help. We don't know who." Unser answered. Heels clicked on the tile floor as Sybil Pope walked to the two. They turned to look at her as she walked close to them. She held flowers.
"What's Sybil Pope doing here?" Eli asked before she stop in front of them.
"Sheriff Eli Roosevelt, I wanted to extend a helping hand to you and your wife after what happened." Sybil says handing over the flowers.
"It was you, who helped my wife." Eli said.
"Yes, I could see you was getting close to the Home invasions case and knew you would become a target." She states.
"Last time I heard about you from my people, when you were helping a Governor become president." Eli remarked shocking Unser.
"Which he became. Woman and children are off limits. Anyone that don't understand that line trouble will follow." Sybil tells them. Sybil looked over to the white man that observe her with caution, worry and admiration? Curiosity. She didn't know.
"And you are?" Sybil spoke.
"Unser, I used to be police chief." Unser says as she shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you." Sybil replied.
"Likewise." Unser agreed.
I hope you gentlemen enjoy your day, Eli we'll speak again soon. " Sybil tells them before walking away.
Jax's/Third's Pov (SAMCRO CLUBHOUSE)
The crew sat in silence as for they sometimes see the empty chairs of GOGO, Frankie and Greg. Clay was pissed, he had loss his muscle to helping him sabotage Jax. Jax leaned against his chair as he stared at them.
"GOGO, Frankie, Greg are dead. They are the ones that started the home invasions. They were traitors. They tried to turn the town against us." Jax stated with a calm, angry voice.
"They were shot in the face and hung up on display." Clay fumed.
"Yeah, Sybil Pope threatened us with that, did she, do it?" Juice tells looking at Jax.
"Sybil Pope was looking in on who was doing the home invasions. Weeds get weeded out." Jax says with a straight face, giving Juice a look.
Juice was quiet after that. Jax looked at Clay, before he told them about Pope's deal.
"Pope is offering to double our pay. Pope can push another 30 keys east through Reno. We talked to Luis. Galindo can easily up the supply. Now, what that means for us is we'll haul 60 keys back from A-Z. Pope gives us the 50 he was gonna take-- that's another hundred on top." Jax told them.
"This guy realizes he can make a lot more money if we're an ally." Bobby points out.
"You know... I've seen guys like Damon Pope before; I know how they operation. They make you offers too good to pass up, they line your pockets with easy cash, and before you know it you're wearing shackles, calling him Massa. You're already in cahoots with his daughter, are you sure you want to risk it?" Clay questioned.
"My club is never gonna be anyone's boy." Jax sternly said.
"Clay's right, man. This shit gets us deeper." Juice spoke up again.
"We're getting out of the coke haul. That's a promise. But for now, for me, this makes sense. Let's vote it. Everyone in favor. Yea." Jax sighed at Juice. Juice was walking on thin ice and it won't be long before he find someone to replace him.
"Yea." Bobby agreed rainig his hand.
" No." Juice shook his head.
"Yea." Phil also agreed.
"I'm sorry, man, it's a mistake. No." Clay also shook his head.
"Yeah." Happy called out.
"Yea." Tig agreed.
"Aye." Chibs raised his forearm.
"Six-two. Passes." Jax says hitting the jovel on the table. Everyone got up.
"Juice, let me talk to you." Jax called making Juice sit back down.
"I'll wait outside until you're done." Bobby said walking out, leaving the two inside.
"I see Clay have you under his thumb." Jax stoic voice sent a shiver down Juice's spine.
" I just feel bad for him." Juice tells him.
"I'm sure he knows all your secrets." Jax stated.
"What?" Juice's voice turns fearful.
"I know Juice. I know everything. He's gonna get you killed Juice. By me or By Sybil Pope. She called you a liability. I was skeptical at first, when she told me. You're on thin ice Juice. You go against me in a meeting again, I'll kill you." Jax threaten before Juice walked out. Jax watched him, sighing rubbing his hand through his hair.
Oakland car lot (Oakland, California)
Marcus, leader of Mayans, Lin of the triads and Tyler from the Niners along with Jax stood in a circle as they had their meeting.
"Pope and the Sons have settled their differences. We're good with the Niners again." Jax explained.
"Yeah, I heard about the shift in management." Marcus looked at Tyler, who reminded him of a scared puppy.
" We here for a group hug?" Lin sarcastically told them.
"Maybe." Jax joked.
"Pope wants us to double the haul back-- 60 keys. He's gonna push 30 east through Reno. Stays clear to Oakland." Jax told them.
"Niners are in bed with Pope. How do I know his end don't flood my turf?" Marcus remarked. Tyler looked at him before saying, "'Cause we ain't looking for beefs. We'll step and bag it, run it outside, the same way you do up north."
Jax almost proud of the cool headed Niners leader, who stood his ground.
"Nothing changes in Oakland. Your gun deals and action stay the same." Jax added.
" And I'm supposed to just trust that shit?" Marcus insinuated.
"This came straight from Pope. Look, anything goes wrong, I'll squash it." Jax consoled as Lin looked at him, wondering what he meant by that.
"Oh, you'll squash it? The MC running with Pope's hit squad now?" Lin questioned.
"No, I'm taking responsibility. We got to think outside the hood, boys. Staying in Pope's sunshine is good for all of us." Jax vowed.
"You clear this with Romeo?" Marcus asked.
"Luis. He's good. Cartel likes the idea of being in business with Pope." Jax explained.
"Lot of shit happening with you at the head of the table, ese." Marcus says nodding at Jax.
"I inherited this shit." Jax tells them.
"Keep black in line... we're good." Marcus spoke.
"Yeah, I'm good." Lin replied before Someone caught all of their attention.
And who is she?" Lin pointed out as she leaned against the car, looking at them.
"Pope's daughter Sybil." Jax replied.
"Following her father's footsteps huh?" Lin asked before they all nodded to each other.
"let's do this more often. I miss you guys." He smiled which everyone into smirks before they went their separate ways.
Jax, Chibs and Bobby walked to her as she met them halfway.
"Sybil." Jax said.
"Jax. Boys." Sybil responded.
"We saw your little display." Jax comments.
"I found your traitors. I serve them to you on a silver platter. I didn't have to get my hands dirty." Sybil calmly said.
"Too bad for Darnell right." Jax says reminding her of her failed tester.
"That was different. Once your little deal goes through, you will kill the snake at the end of your table." Sybil pointed out. Her arms crossed as she furrowed her brows.
"That's if it goes through." Jax replied.
"Jax, you have foes sitting in every corner, waiting for you to slip up. If you want to come on top, you will destroy every obstacle in your way." Sybil preached.
"She's right." Bobby agreed.
"Thank you. Here's the address to our dear old Sargeant. I want you to tell them to leave the country. We 're tying up loose ends. " Sybil handed him an envelope.
"They will know what to do with it." Sybil nodded before leaving them.
O.P.A Associates: OLIVIA's Office (Washington)
Olivia sat down as Abby and Harrison stood in front of her desk. She looks over the many files over the reverend.
"We have a problem. The morgue's releasing pastor Drake's body. The medical examiner wants to do an autopsy. The family can say no to that. Not if the M.E. thinks the person died under suspicious circumstances. Liv, if they find out he didn't die at home...That we tampered with a crime scene. The story blows up." Harrison tells Olivia.
"We go to jail. The man's a joke." Abby scoffs.
"Harrison, have you talked to Sybil today." Olivia asked.
"No, She's usually busy at this time. Why?" Harrison asked.
"Because I need her to be at the funeral. " Olivia gave him a look which he understood.
"Okay, I'll speak to her right away." Harrison Said before leaving the room. he went to Sybil's office as he dialed her number.
You have reached Sybil's phone; sorry I can't come to the phone right now. Please leave a message after the beep.
"Hey, Sybil this case we're working on, have a situation just like yours. Olivia thinks you can speak with the mistress." Harrison says before hanging up.
Jax/Third's Pov (Oakland, California)
Jax and the boys waited for the couple to come in from their shopping. Jax lit a cigarette as they waited for them. The package Sybil gave him sat on the table as he looked at it.
"Why are we sending the guard that almost killed Opie away?" Tig asked.
"Sybil says to tie up loose ends. He's a witness to her helping us rescue Ope." Jax said as he blew smoke out his mouth.
"Wouldn't it be good to just kill him and get it over with." Happy says.
"Based on how Sybil is, she's different than her father. She gives mercy and she's compassionate. If she didn't Tig would've been dead, and we would be grieving 'two bodies' than one." Jax pointed out with a look to Tig.
"She hasn't steered us wrong yet. If we play her game, maybe she can teach us how her world works." Bobby remarked before they heard the door open. The sergeant and his wife walked in, stopping when they saw Jax and his boys.
"Hello old friend, do you remember us?" Jax says with a smirk.
"What are you doing here? I thought since Ms. Pope came; everything was okay." The sergeant replied.
"That's why we're here." Jax says back as he grabbed the file giving it to the couple.
"What is this?" The sergeant questioned with a frighten look on his face.
"Take this and get out of town, never come back. Run far away, if you come back, I will kill you and display you for all your workers to see you for what you truly are. A weed." Jax sternly said before leaving along with the boys following him.
That day the couple was gone never to be seen again.
Oakland car lot (Oakland, California)
Jax sat in the car with Pope as they did their usual business. He didn't know what Sybil was doing, he couldn't help but think about her. He loved Tara sure. She took care of Abel and gave him another boy Thomas but there was something about Sybil that he was just attracted to.
"If you're wondering why, you haven't seen Sybil in a while, she had to go back to Washington. Business" Pope looked at Jax with a Knowing look.
"Wasn't but what do she do up there? She's call herself a fixer." Jax replied making Damon hum.
"She along with her cousin work with powerful people. People you wouldn't think of. The power she has in certain areas." Pope bragged with that proud look back in his eyes.
"How powerful is she?" Jax curiously wondered.
"Power is Power. Sybil has always strived for greatness since she was born. She worked day in and out to collect the strings that she pulls." Damon smugness was heard in his voice.
Damon saw the thinking look on Jax's face.
"You saw it, didn't you. You saw what she could do." Damon said with an smiling face.
"She found the home invasions people." Jax stated.
"Really? and what did she do?" Damon replied.
"She shot them in the face and hang them up on the gate." Jax answers.
"So that means it was an inside job." Damon hummed.
"Weed out the weeds." Jax starts.
"And all will fall in line." Damon finished.
"My daughter has always had that mindset." Damon says as he pulled out his cigar.
"She's a special woman, your daughter." Jax told Damon. Damon almost wanted to smile at the accomplishments his daughter was doing.
"Your deal's a go. The club and the cartel signed off." Jax added.
"Good. Glad it all worked out." Pope tells Jax.
"Next mule is in a week. We'll start then." Jax says as he starts to get on the car, before Damon called him back.
"Look inside. Close the door. Those attacks... friends, family, now cops. All that blowback lands in your lap. Somebody's trying to compromise you. I'm sure Sybil told you that too. There are too many foes in your corners to be taking it laying down. You're the president for a reason. " Damon schooled the president. This is what Jax should've been taught. Clay too much on a power high and Gemma has her head so far worrying about what he was doing instead of just minding her business.
"So, trust no one." Jax said.
"Loyalty has contingencies. Look, you know what happens if I take a bullet?" Damon hinted.
"Yeah. Your hit squad settles the score." Jax stated.
"Independent security contractors. First one who kills my killer gets five million dollars. Fear protects me. Greed ensures it." Damon clarified.
"And Sybil?" Jax asked.
"That line of power." Damon starts.
"There's a line of people that with kill her killer just to revenge her. She is their savior. Their angel. And her main source of power is someone you wouldn't think of " Damon remarked.
"Well, the next time I have a spare five mill, I'll hire myself some assassins or people to kill for me." Jax sarcastically says and is also wondering who it was.
"You don't need money, Jackson. Just the ability to see the inevitable. Have a good night." Damon signals Jax to leave as he lit his cigar. "That boy is secretly whipped for my daughter," He thought.
POPE'S HANGAR (1.5 Miles outside of Washington)
Sybil walked off the plane as she saw Harrison waiting for her. She walks to him with a smile, giving him a hug. Harrison held her tight in their brotherly/sisterly hug before backing away.
"Hey, how is everything?" Sybil says with a smile.
"Everything's good. This case we're working on is about the nation reverend." Harrison told her as they walked to the car.
"Pastor Drake, right?" Sybil remembered him.
"He was with his mistress when he died." Harrison explained as they got in the car, putting on their seatbelt as he started the car.
"And what have you done so far?" Sybil says looking through the file.
"The mistress want 6 million to go away. Mellie is going to see the wife this afternoon. Olivia already there, prepping her since this morning." Harrison drove to Sybil's house.
"Why am I needed again? If you 've already have everything set up with a hitch." Sybil questioned.
"She wants you to talk to the mistress." Harrison tells her.
"So, we can have an - what a mistress off." Sybil sarcastically said to her.
"I don't know. Maybe." Harrison shrugged.
"Hmm." Sybil hummed.
Harrison pulled into her driveway, him and Sybil getting out the car going inside. She set her purse and keys down. Harrison looked around her town house in awe. He've only been in her apartment that she had before.
"Nice place." Harrison complimented.
"Thanks. Better than the apartment." Sybil smiled, sitting on the couch.
"So how are we doing this?" Sybil asked as Harrison got ready to tell her the plan.
ST. THOMAS HOSPITAL (CHARMING, CALIFORNIA)
Gemma was coming to check on the kids when she saw Unser, standing in the waiting room after talking with Eli about the updates on Rita. Gemma called out to him as she saw him, walking towards him.
" Hey, I tried calling you." Gemma says as he turned to look at her.
"Oh, yeah? What do you need now?" Unser questioned with a scoff. He knew Gemma need something. She always needed something. He hated that he felled in love with her. He had done everything for her. Covering up JT murder, turning Jax against Clay, anything she ever needed, and he was there. But not anymore.
"Nothing. I was just, uh, I was just checking in." Gemma said trying to figure out what she wanted to say to him.
"I guess you heard about Rita?" Unser asked.
"Yeah. Crazy shit." Gemma says. Rita had survived but that still shook up the community and it was GOGO, Frankie and Greg's fault.
"That it is. I got to... check on Eli." Unser replied with look. He wanted to be nowhere near her.
"Where's he land with this?" Gemma questioned.
" He lands with a almost dead wife and unborn child. And the men that almost killed his wife was found on your doorstep. What do you expect?" Unser told her.
"We didn't know they was like that." Gemma tried to cover for the MC.
"Explain that to the hurt residents all around Charming and to Eli's wife." Unser retorted.
Gemma looked at him like he was crazy. Why was he talking to her like that? Unser didn't care anymore how she perceived him. A family was almost ruined because of the club.
"There won't be any more home invasions, we handled it." Gemma tried to say before Unser interrupted her.
"No, you didn't handle it. Sybil Pope handled it! The blacks handled it. She even gave her help if Eli needed anything for Rita. Is this what SAMCRO about now. Hitting close to home." Unser stated with anger as Gemma listened with a hurt facial expression.
" What's going on with you?" Gemma asked.
"This Nero guy... what the hell is it?" Unser questioned.
"He's a friend." Gemma started.
"I see. A friend. Am I a friend, Gemma?" Unser asked.
"Yeah." Gemma answered.
"Same kind of friend?" Unser asked making Gemma roll her eyes as she knew where this was going.
"Oh, Christ. I can't do this right now." Gemma replies trying to walk around him as Unser stopped her.
"And when should we do this, Gemma? Huh? Next time you kiss me?" Unser questioned.
"Look, I'm sorry, Wayne. I love you, sweetheart. But you got to trust me, if we hooked up right now, it would just ruin us." Gemma stated as her face was now near Unser's.
"There ain't no us, Gemma. And you got no friends. You just got people that would do shit for you. And then you throw the poor suckers a smile and a promise to keep 'em coming back." Unser scoffs.
"All right. I get it. You're pissed." Gemma says.
"It ain't just me. Open your eyes, mother. Everybody knows who you are. Jax and Tara, they ain't ever gonna let you do to... to their family what you did to JT and your own boys. You better wrap your head around that fact. 'Cause you're gonna die alone. Just like me." Unser remarked before walking away from her.
On the way to Charming
Jax, Chibs and Bobby was coming back to Charming after the talk with Pope. They didn't know that Eli was speeding right behind before he sped up next to Jax as he motioned them to pull over.
"Pull over! I said, pull over!" Eli ushered but Jax kept going. Eli swerved causing Bobby to falloff his bike.
"Bobby!" Jax yelled as he stopped his bike.
"Bobby!" Chibs hoped off his bike as well going over to help Bobby.
"Bobby, you good?" Jax asked.
"What the hell..." Chibs stated.
" Yes." Bobby nodded.
"Eli" Chibs growled.
"Oh, you!" Bobby yelled wanting to get to Eli.
"What is your problem, you doony bastard." Chibs told Eli who got out his car.
"Oh, nice." Eli sarcastically says.
"Really? Come on here." Chibs yells. As they all scream at each other, yelling profanities before Jax calm them down.
"Help me bend these bars back." Bobby started as he made Chibs help him with his bike. Jax walked over to Eli, who stood by his car.
"That was some outlaw shit, man. I'm sorry for what those traitors almost did to your wife." Jax stated.
"If it wasn't for Sybil Pope, my wife would've been killed." Eli remarked.
"She said she will get them, and she did. If there's anything we can do to make it up to you." Jax told him.
"Sybil said the same thing." Eli replied.
"I asked her to look into the home invasions and she did. Maybe we could call it a truce." Jax asked him.
"I want to sit down with Sybil Pope." Eli tells Jax.
"I'll let her know." Jax nodded.
"Okay." Eli nodded back.
"Okay. Just don't get outlaw on me again." Jax joked before Eli got in his car to drive off. Jax watched shaking his head.
Pastor Drake's Mistress Anna's House (Washington, DC)
The next day, Harrison dropped her off at Pastor Drake's Mistress House as she walked up the stairs to see Anna. Harrison had told her that she wasn't letting up on not signing the NDA. Sybil can only hope, she'll listen to her. Sybil knock on the door as she waited for the Mistress to Open the door. She could hear the door unlocking before the mistress showed her face.
"Anna Gordon? I'm Sybil Pope. My cousin Olivia Pope sent me to talk to you." Sybil says as she waited to see if she will her in.
Anna looked at her a few before opening the door and letting her in.
"I thought Olivia was coming to see me." Anna said as she led Sybil to her livinfg room.
"She's getting everything ready for the funeral." Sybil sat down.
"Soo... what did Nancy agreed on?" Anna asked.
"6 million, just like you wanted. And all you have to do is sign." Sybil stated as she pushed the pamphlet of paper with a pen to Anna.
"It's not enough." Anna remarked.
"How much is enough? " Sybil questioned with a calm face.
"I don't know." Anna replied.
"Anna, I need an Number. You can't just say it's not enough and you do not know. What can we do to make this go away?" Sybil told her.
"I don't know." Anna says again.
"$10 million? $20 million?" Sybil listed to Anna, who felt convicted.
"I don't know!" Anna yelled.
"I know! What you want is 15 Christmases on December 25th, 15 birthdays, 15 years of sleeping next to him and waking up with him. You want Anniversary dinners and parent-teacher conferences and school plays. You want fights over whose turn it is to wash the dishes and walk the dog. What you want, what you've always wanted, is to be part of his life. To hug you, Kiss you. Tell you everything is going to be okay. That he'll always love you no matter what you guys go through. That if you have an abortion because you both live in two different worlds and you don't know how he react. But you still ache mind, body and soul because of what could've been." Sybil's face now had a frown on it as she thought of her and Fitz. She had brought up her babies and it hurt. She didn't notice Anna moving to sit next her with a hand on hers.
"How many?" Anna questioned softly.
"Two, they would've been boys." Sybil stated.
" Oh my God." Anna states before bringing Sybil into a hug.
"I can't guarantee that I'll signed it. The paper but I need to be at the Funeral, please just so I can just say goodbye. So, my son can say goodbye." Anna told her.
"Okay, get ready and we'll go." Sybil pulled back from the hug as Anna went to get her and her son ready.
Pastor Drake's Funeral (Washington, DC)
Sybil made Anna and her son stay in her personal Limo service as she went to find Olivia, who looked to be waiting for her with Nancy. Olivia almost wanted to smile at how beautiful her cousin was but today was business.
"Nancy, this is my cousin Sybil." Olivia introduced.
"I remember." Nancy small smiled.
"It's nice to see you again, Nancy." Sybil small smiled back.
"What did Anna say?" Olivia asked.
"She hasn't signed. There's no deal." Sybil spoke. Olivia looked conflicted; she was sure Sybil could've talked her into signing.
"You tell me this ten minute before I'm supposed to say good-bye to my husband for the last time, before my children say good-bye to their father?" Nancy argued.
"Nancy, it's also ten minutes before this funeral is carried live on three networks." Olivia replied.
"Anna could make it so your husband's legacy is the one thing people aren't talking about." Sybil advised with a calm face.
"What does she want?" Nancy wondered.
"To be here, at the funeral, with her son." Sybil tells them.
"That's out of the question." Nancy shook her head.
"Nancy, she's in a car outside. This would be it... the last thing you would ever have to do." Sybil vouched for Anna.
"That woman is not setting foot in this church." Nancy raged.
"This isn't about you and your kids anymore. He had another life; you didn't know about. Do not be mad at her for falling in love just like you. It sucks it was your husband, hell a lot of women wished they could feel the same. But there's a child in the mix, who is devasted that he lost his father too. Anna wouldn't like to go the other route; she would go to the nearest camera and the whole world would know about Pastor Drake's secret life." Sybil sternly told Nancy.
Nancy and Sybil stared at each other before Nancy agreed.
~Minute Skip~
Sybil brought Anna inside as she guided them to their seats. She could feel eyes on her. She knew who it was as he sent his sympathies to Pastor Drake's family. Olivia and her sat behind them as they held each other hands as the funeral started.
"Marvin Drake gave spiritual counsel to seven presidents. In times of crisis, he was a tireless reminder to all Americans, to every citizen of the world, to heed those better angels of our nature. With his departure, it's incumbent upon the rest of us, most especially those of us in public office..." Fitz spoke as everyone listened to him.
Harrison and Abby looked on Tv as they stood in O.P.A.
"Damn. We give great funeral." Harrison tells her as they High-fived.
"...Temper our divides."
Sybil stared ahead as she listened. Squeezing her cousin's hand in reassurance.
"But while the world and nation mourn his passing, there is, of course... A more personal anguish. That's suffered by his family and by his friends. We knew his greatest contribution wasn't simply in his inspiring words, but in his deeds, that hope was attended by generosity... Tolerance by forgiveness... Understanding by acceptance."
Nancy had surprised them both when she took a hold of Anna's hand as she along with the family guided them out as a united. Mellie now notices Sybil as she smiled at her. Sybil sent her a kiss before she kissed Olivia on the cheek. She left, as multiple eyes watched her. The president and the First lady, Olivia and Anna just before she was fully out the church. Sybil got in her limo as she left to go back to Charming.
Fitz's Limo (Washington, DC)
Fitz and Mellie sat in the limo after the Funeral in silence. Since their non- knowledgeable separation, they haven't spoken to each other especially after what she said on TV. She was happy to see Sybil and she knew Fitz was too.
"I didn't know that Sybil was coming to the funeral." Mellie state catching his attention.
"Hmm." Fitz hums as he looks over the final draft of the peace treaty for east Sudan.
"She looked very pretty." Melle made small talk.
"Mellie, why are you bringing up Sybil?" Fitz asked.
"I was wondering why you haven't made your move yet. I know our moments are for business only but still.. You're letting her get away." Mellie told him.
"Mellie, you know she is too good of a person to get involved with me again. And specially you're friends." Fitz states.
"You told her we're separated right. Maybe you just have to make up. Please as my friend. " Mellie pouted making Fitz smiled.
"Mel.." Fitz smiled with a sigh.
"Use your good looks and get our baby a god mother now." Mellie joked. Fitz wanted to laugh so bad.
"I just wanted to say that I'm very sorry and what I said on Tv. It was wrong of me to do so." Mellie apologized after the joke.
"Mel, it's okay. It's handled." Fitz states before they went back to doing their own thing.
JAX'S HOUSE (CHARMING, CALIFORNIA)
Jax and Chibs along with bobby came inside where they found Tara, looking over a sheet of paper.
"Hey." Jax says as he walked to sit in a empty chair facing Tara.
"Hi." Tara responds.
"Did you get my messages?" Jax questioned her.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I had to rush home for the boys." Tara stated. She hoped he would tell her that Sybil Pope was in town and that New Feds had shut down their case, so she shouldn't be worrying about Otto Delaney.
"How'd it go? Did you see Otto?" Jax questioned.
"No. I put in a request, but they were backlogged. I'm back next week. But you know I actually heard something interesting." Tara replied.
"Babe, you don't have to do this. And what?" Jax wondered.
"That new fed took over your case and dismissed it or that Sybil Pope is in town. Can you explain that?" Tara interrogated him. Bobby and Chibs look at each other.
" We need what Otto have on us. He needs to come over back on our side. Since Luann's death, He's trying to spill dirt that could incriminate us. Sybil Pope is here on business, helping us out." Jax told her but Tara for some reason didn't believe Jax. He was always a cheater and Sybil Pope was a beautiful woman. He had to have at least an intriguing look for her.
"Okay, how was Oakland?" Tara asked.
"Fine. We're working things out with Pope. Otherwise, it's a pretty quiet day. " Jax stated.
"Yep. Real quiet." Bobby looked at Jax like he didn't almost get killed by Eli.
"That's nice for a change." Tara sighed.
"Yeah. I'm gonna kiss the boys good night. Then we got to close up the garage." Jax says as he stood up. Tara watched him as he walked to her. His face close to hers.
"Hey... Let's go up to the cabin for a couple of days. Decompress." Jax suggested.
"Yeah. Um, I have some things tomorrow, but after that I'm, I'm good." Tara muttered.
"All right. Let's go tomorrow then, after work." Jax stated with a smile.
"What about the boys? Bring them with us?" Tara asked.
"Just the two of us." Jax wished.
"Who's gonna watch them?" Tara questioned.
Clay's Place (Charming, California)
Rat boy, Clay's new watcher after Jax took Juice off. Once out the car, Clay started walking to his house.
"You need anything?" Rat Boy shouted making Clay turn around.
"I'm fine." Clay said.
"Okay, Night." Rat Boy stated.
Clay rolled his eyes as he started back walking again.
"Yeah, yeah." Clay says as he reached his door.
Rat Boy shrugged, watching him go inside before driving off. Clay went put his stuff down as he turns on the light to see Brandon, from Sybil's crew.
"Hello Mr. Morrow, Ms. Pope would like to speak to you." Brandon greeted before Clay was met with a bag over his head.
