Maddie, please help me! This is getting ridiculous! I almost got kissed for the first time! And I got a creepy message saying that the clock is ticking. What is that even supposed to mean? What if the person who is spending me these messages is your killer? Gosh, what do they want from me?! They've already killed you which has already shattered my heart. I'm barely half alive right now. Seriously, who IS behind these messages?! Please answer me, Mads Please...

Surprisingly the only thing that is keeping me sane is talking to you and writing poems for you. I was never really good at them but I will start writing them for you in this diary. Hope you like this one, it's called 'When I lost you' - This is the least I could do for you, Maddie. Love you loads, hope you enjoy it;

'The clock is ticking', what was that even supposed to mean?

I showed Nora the text and she gasped, she had also received a message the day before and we were a nervous wreck ever since then.

"You really should tell the police, Ken." Nora said worryingly.

"I'll be fine, don't worry about it. Did you get any messages?" I said trying to calm my breathing.

"Nope, no messages." She said, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Watcha guys talking about?" Alec asked and then gasped, "And why the hell are you so pale Kendall, it seems like you've seen a ghost." He said with concern.

"She has been getting anonymous messages since Saturday." Nora blurted out. I gave her a stare and she mouthed sorry.

"Kendall is that true? Why didn't you tell us? We would have helped you, we're your friends after all." Alec said while looking hurt that I didn't tell him.

Now I felt extremely guilty.

"Look, I really wanted to tell you guys but I didn't want to involve you guys in the trouble." I said truthfully.

"Kendall, that's what friends are for. They help you no matter what the situation is." Alec said.

"Guys, you are so sweet. I can't." I said my eyes glimmering with tears. They really are the best. Then we all had a big group hug until we got interrupted by the shrill sound of the bell.

Oh, great. Now we have class.

"See you guys tomorrow." I said, walking to my next class.

"See ya!" They said in union.

Walking to my next class, I sat down in my seat and saw that Ace was sitting beside me.

Yay! More time with Ace!

Kendall what the hell are you thinking! Snap out of it!

"Hey, you feeling better now?" He asked while examining my face like it was a sculpture.

"Ya, I'm fine don't worry about it. I just choked, no big deal." I said.

"No big deal! You almost died!" He said fuming with anger.

"Well, you saved me and I'm alive now, so don't stress about it." I said smiling.

"Oh gosh, you aren't so bad. Michelle described me to you like you were a psychopath." He said.

"She always likes to assume things about me, she thinks I am a psychopath because my twin sister was murdered an-"

"Your twin sister was murdered!?" He said as he whisper-shouted every word because Mr. Burlaco walked into class.

"She was murdered five years ago." I said as I felt myself crying, bringing back memories of Maddie.

The memory of Maddie always brings me to tears, but it also brings me determination to find her killer and finish him or her off for good.

No one, and I mean no one, could get away with killing my sister.

No, no I cannot cry in front of Ace, never.

I could not show him that I was weak. He would think I was a loser. He thought so highly of me now, I could not ruin that.

"I'm sorry, that must suck. Losing your other half." Ace said sadly, feeling sympathetic, "I lost my mom while she was giving birth to my younger brother, so I know how it feels to lose someone. You aren't alone." Ace said sadly.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I said as I hugged him, feeling bad for him.

I. Hugged. Him. I hugged Ace...

There is definitely something wrong with my hormones.

I pulled away feeling extremely embarrassed, unlike Ace who was smiling like he had won the lottery.

"You really are something different." He said, muttering to himself while smiling.

"You said something?" I said knowing very well that I was about to embarrass him.

Yes, I love to embarrass people. I would like to get paid please! It's the only thing I am good at.

"Umm, nothing. We gotta focus on the class now or we will get detention." He said while a blush crept onto his cheeks.

"Ya, ya, you want me to believe that the bad boy wants to listen in class. Nope definitely not gonna believe that." I said while laughing.

Ace just shrunk down in his seat and started giving me a playful glare. I immediately stopped laughing and focused on the class, while the smile was still intact on my face.

School finished and I was about to go home until my phone beeped.

Not again!

I opened the message, it said, 'I bet you haven't been in Maddie's room for a while now, eh? Then how about this? Go check Maddie's room and look around. You have 24 hours. Tick tock, tick tock.'

I gasped. I had not been in Maddie's room ever since she had died, only mom went in occasionally to keep the room clean. Other than that, everything was left the same way it was. We were scared that if we removed anything from her room we would lose touch with Maddie. Her room was the only thing that reminded us of her. Of her essence, her presence; her.

I really wanted to talk to my friends but they had already left and Nora had a family dinner to attend, while Alec and Jake had practice. I was left with one person alone to call and share my problems.
