Why would I ever tell my son to love?

"Fall in love, son, it's a great feeling"
I'll never utter that!!
Never speak those venomous words!!!

For I've seen how fearful the emotion, love is.
How terrifying,
how it's driven friends and relatives to madness.

Oh! How I've seen it!

Had an acquaintance once, strong and resilient,
then love came,
shattered him.
Broke his soul.
made him a shadow of what he once was.

And even the tiny bit of what was left of him.
she still took it,
shredded it and left his being torn apart like the chicken bones a child leaves on his dirty plate on Christmas.

So, tell me, will I still be a good parent, if I say, "son, fall in love, it's a beautiful feeling"?
