Avni was glaring Neil with her cheeks all red and flaring nostrils. She was not only pissed at him for being late but also because her very own father trusted him more than her.
She was hell upset and decided to not forgive him easily this time.

Neil was still standing at the door helpless, with no idea about what would be the correct way of making her back to her normal self which was being bubbly and chirpy.

Neil: Avuuuuu....... Yaar pata hai meri gadi ka tyre puncture ho gya tha. Maine..can you imagine THE NEIL KHANNA ne khud tyre change kiya. Pata hai kitna difficult tha....
He says with a pout.

Avni: To phir tujhe pasinaa take nhi aaya itna difficult task karte hue.... Aur tere kapde bhi ekdum crisp hain, koi creases nhi aaye...

Neil: WO...WO..

Avni: Neil Khanna stop lying!!!!
Teri wajah se maine Ab tak breakfast nhi kiya. You didn't even bother to call and inform that you can be late.
She shouted at him.

Neil: WHAT!! Tune khana nhi khaya. Par kyun?

Avni: Because I was waiting for you.

Neil: Avu, you seriously thought ke mom Aur Bebe mujhe bina breakfast ke ghar se nikalne dengi. Arre unka bas chale to vo mujhe poora din khilati rahein. You know how mom's are....

Avni made a sad face at his last line.
Avni: How would I know how moms are? Mere paas to maa hai hi nhi...
(A tear trickled down her cheek).

Neil realized what he said and mentally cursed himself for making her sad and cry early in the morning. He could bear anything but not her tears. Him being the reason behind them was something that pinched his heart badly.

Neil: Avu....( he cupped her face and wiped her tears with the pulp of his thumb) I'm really sorry. Mera vo MATLAB nhi tha....
He said softly.

Avni: I know Neil but sach to yahi hai na ki mere pass Ma nhi hai.
She looks at him with glassy eyes.

Neil: Chal chup!!!!!! Meri mom Teri mom nhi hai kya??
He questions her with his eyebrows.

Avni: Vo to hai. AND SHE LOVES ME MORE THAN YOU.
She giggled saying this.

Neil made an annoyed and irritated face. But deep down he was satisfied that he was able to make her laugh.

Neil: Madam you're not hungry now?????

Avni: Of course, I am. But you'll get punishment for making me starve.

Neil: And what's that????

Avni: you'll feed me with your hands.

Neil: I'd love to  do that. But not as a punishment instead out of my love for my best friend. And for the punishment, I'll be your PA for this project. You can boss around, scold me,torture me , do whatever you want. This is my version of punishment.

Avni: Interesting..... But I can't afford such a rich PA. So you'll have to work for free.

Neil: As you say madam.
He says bowing down.
Both of them start laughing.

Neil: But being your personal assistant doesn't mean you'll take advantage of me. I know that I'm handsome and irresistible, you know.
He says sheepishly.

Avni: Neilllll!!!!!!

Neil:  OK baba,fine!

Avni: Well right now if I can't resist something then that is food.
Feed me please!!!
She said pleading.

Neil:  Come...

They had their food, talked on every imaginable and unimaginable topic and left for office.
