They were sitting under the stars on the swing. Cool breeze made the atmosphere more pleasant.

But the distance between them was a matter of worry for Neil. She was literally sitting on the edge of the swing trying to maintain as much distance as she could.

Maybe I shouldn't have kissed her..
He thought.

But she was the one who asked me to...

Maybe I shouldn't have confessed my feelings...

His thought process was at its peak. He was thinking of all the negative aspects of his emotional reveal.

His thoughts were broken when he felt weight on his shoulder. He came out of his thoughts to see Avni's head on his shoulder.
He smiled.

Maybe I was thinking too much...

Avni: Neil! I want ice cream.

Neil: No, Avu. You know how easily you catch cold. So, I'm not giving it to you.

Avni pouted and then smirked.

Avni: I want to give my best friend one advice.

Neil: kya?
She lifted her head and sat cross legged in front of him.

Avni: Never say no to your wife. You never know if she gets upset or sad or...

Neil: I got it!!!

Avni raised an eyebrow.

Neil: Fine! I'll give it to you. But if you catch cold, then don't blame me.

Avni clapped her hands excitedly.

Neil: Which flavor?
He asked turning back.

Avni: Ummm.... Chocolate chip.

Neil: I'll check.

Avni: You'll not check, you'll get it.
She ordered.

Neil: Sure madam.
He said annoyed.

Avni giggled at his state.

Neil went to get the ice cream while Avni was busy looking at the star filled sky.

Neil brought back the ice cream and saw Avni looking at the sky with tears flowing down her cheeks. His heart ached to see her like that.

He kept the ice cream on the table and went towards her. He sat on the swing and kept a hand on her shoulder.

Neil: Avu..

Avni: Pata hai jab main choti thi aur mujhe maa ki yaad aati thi, papa kehte the ki maa aasman main ek star bangayi hain. Vo humesha humme dekhti rahengi.... I wish main bhi unhe dekh pati, choo paati, gale laga paati...
And she broke down..
(You know when I was a child and I used to miss mom, dad used to say that she has become a star and is always watching us... I wish I could also see her, touch her, hug her...)

Neil sighed and hugged Avni tightly. She clutched onto his shirt and cried.

Neil: Avni, I have a doubt.

Avni :What?
She asked confused breaking the hug.

Neil: if Neela maa sees everything, then she also watched us kissing?
He asked slyly.

Avni thought for a second and then shouted Neil!!!

He stood up and started running while Avni was chasing him. This Tom-n-Jerry fight continued for a while until they were tired.

They sat down and started laughing holding their stomach.
Later on, they ate their ice cream and went inside to sleep.
