So Nate and Matt will not make an appearance until the end of the chapter but the next chapter will just be how they spent the weekend together. Enjoy!

Third person's POV

It was Sunday the last day of punishment for the group. Alex and Daniel were in the kitchen eating breakfast at 8:30 am. "So should we take the others with us?" Alex asked "I mean their parents did put them in our care so we kinda have to take them with us." Daniel said. Over in the living room Jack and Mark were the first ones up, Stephanie and Riley were next, Shane and Felix were the last to wake up. "Hey where are the twins?" Jack asked looking around "I thought you had Skylar." Mark said to Jack "I did, but she's not here. Riley didn't you have Andy?" Jack asked "Yeah but he's not here look everywhere they have to be in the house somewhere." Riley said. Everyone was looking around the house Jack and Felix looked in the basement, Riley and Mark checked the living room, Stephanie and Shane checked the backyard. Everyone met back in the living room. "Anything?" Shane asked placing a hand on her face. "Not in the basement." Felix said "Not outside." Stephanie said "Not in the starting point." Mark said "I'm gonna get a glass of water real quick." Shane said walking into the kitchen.

"Morning dork." Daniel said "Morning Five-O." Shane greeted as she pulled out a water bottle from the fridge.

"Get your stuff ready, your friends too. We're going to the eye doctor." Alex said sipping her coffee. "But why?" Shane asked "You're gonna suffer from an overwear." Daniel said "Can't we go tomorrow after school?" Shane suggested "Nope it's been a long time since your last checkup and mom and dad would kill us if they knew we never took you to the doctors." Alex said. "But-" Shane started "Do you want me to put you in handcuffs? Cause I will do it in front of your friends as well." Daniel said pulling out his cuffs "Fine we'll get ready after we find the twins." Shane said walking out "Don't worry about them we took them to their rooms after we came home last night." Alex said "Thanks everyone's freaking out." Shane walked out of the kitchen.

"Should we check upstairs?" Mark wondered "No need they're in their rooms." Shane said walking in "Daniel and Alex took them upstairs last night." "Oh thank god." Felix said placing a hand on his chest. "Anyway we gotta get ready. We're going out." Shane said folding the blankets "Where are we going?" Stephanie asked helping Shane fold the blankets. "I got a doctors appointments." Shane said fixing the pillows "Why do we have to come along?" Jack asked "Because you guys are under our care." Daniel said walking in the living room. Everyone groans in annoyance "Makes you thinks twice about skipping school huh?" Alex asked walking in the room "C'mon get ready we have to be there at 12:30." Daniel said "You all know where the showers are and where you stuff is so get going." Alex said. In 20 minutes everyone was dressed and ready to head out the twins woke up in that time frame and are also ready. "Shane got your stuff?" Daniel asked "Yes I have it don't worry." Shane answered. Everyone walked outside Jack, Mark, Felix, Stephanie, the twins, and Alex got into Alex's Toyota Highlander while Shane, Riley, and Daniel got in Daniel's Toyota Tacoma.

"Wait is this because of Shane's contacts?" Riley asked when the truck pulled out of the driveway. "Yes it is." Daniel answered taking a left down the street. Shane looked out the window trying to ignore the conversation. "Shane," Riley said turning to her "Shane look at me," Shane still wouldn't look at her "It's okay if you won't look at me but listen. You can't keep your contacts in all the time remember last time you almost got a serious infection." Riley said still facing Shane "You're scared of what other people think aren't you?" Shane looked at Riley "Yeah, remember what they called me back in middle school." She said "I remember getting suspended from fighting them," Riley said "Yeah that's why we had to move here. I'm scared of what they're gonna think I mean I have one blue eye and one green eye and I wear brown eye contacts to cover them. What if they're like the kids back at Maryland?" Shane asked her tears started to well up. Daniel handed Shane a tissue "It's gonna be okay and if it doesn't work out then you could always move to Virginia to stay with grandma and grandpa for junior and senior year." He said. Shane whipped her tears "Thanks maybe I'll take them off when we get home." She said. They all sat in silence can't say the same for the others it was noisy (but I'm not gonna go into detail cause I'm lazy and I don't want to make the story over 3000 words like last time). After a few more minutes they get to the eye doctor. When they walked in the walls were lined with different styles of glasses, posters of people wearing glasses, and glasses care products. "You guys wait in the waiting area with the twins we'll sign in." Alex said with Daniel nodded "There's a play area for the twins you can take them there if you want." He said. The others went and sat on the chairs in the waiting area the twins were playing blocks on the ground. "I never knew you wore glasses Shane." Felix said trying to strike up a conversation "I don't I wear contacts." She answered "I forgot to take them out last night, actually I keep forgetting to take them out and now they're scared I'm going to suffer from an overwear." She added "What's an overwear?" Stephanie asked "Isn't it where you keep your contacts in too long problems start to happen?" Jack asked "Yep." Shane answered "Why don't you just switch to glasses?" Mark asked "The twins," Shane said "when they see something they like they play with it and then it breaks." "But what about-" Felix starts "Don't you remember the dumbwaiter in my room?" Shane asked "Besides, they always find a way it's creepy." Alex and Daniel came in a few minutes "So do you want us to come with you into the room with you?" Daniel asked looking over to Shane "I'm not a kid anymore." She said looking away she then looked back "Just you okay." She said quietly. A few minutes went by while they all chatted.

"Shane Harlow?" The nurse asked "Yes?" Said person answered "The doctor will see you now." The nurse walked away. Shane looked the others Riley gave a small smile Shane gave a small nod in return. Shane and Daniel walked to the doctor room. "I guess she gave you the okay to tell them Riley?" Alex said looking at said person "You sure?" Riley asked "Yep she trusts you like she trusts us." Alex said "Wait Tell us what?" Stephanie asked "Shane has an eye condition called heterochromia it's where she has two different colored eyes," Riley said "She never said anything because she was scared you guys would leave her." "We would never leave her." Jack said "That's not what she thinks. Back in elementary school people called her a freak and bullied her. I always ended up fighting. Shane would spend detention with me every time. It got worse in middle school." Riley said "How did you guys deal with it?" Stephanie asked "They would always hangout at Shane's house after Daniel got wind of it he took Shane and Riley to the eye doctor to get contacts. Shane started to wear them every day to middle school but some of the students from her elementary told the others. She ended up running away the summer of 7th grade. Daniel was freaking out and tried to arrest the kids who bullied her." Alex said "That's weird we never heard it in the news before." Felix pipped up "That's because we moved here after middle school." Riley explained "We used to live in Maryland Shane was proud of it too she lived ocean city and the rides there. But her parents were still working when it happened." "Daniel called our parents and told them what happened. Shane was given a choice either move here and live with Daniel or move to Virginia and live with our grandparents," Alex said "You could see which one she chose." "But wait shouldn't you be going to a high school in Maryland?" Mark asked Riley "Because of my record back in Maryland they kinda kicked me out of school plus my parents got job opportunities here that they couldn't pass up so perfect timing." Riley answered.

(Inside the doctor room a few minutes ago)

"So you ready?" Daniel asked Shane "Kinda scared." She said "it's not so bad." He said trying to calm her nerves. The room was an yellowish-eggshell color, with a few chairs, a desk with tools on them, and an eye chart on the back wall. Shane and Daniel sat on the chairs waiting for the doctor. "Just like last time right?" Shane asked "Yeah, do you regret moving here?" Daniel asked "School wise no, beach wise a little bit." She said Daniel shoved her shoulder "Dummy that's not what I meant." "I know but no I don't regret it not even a little bit." She said "As long as your happy it's okay." Daniel said. The door opened a middle aged man wearing a white coat, and a pair of dark grey glasses walked in he was looking at a file and then he looked at Shane.

"Ms. Harlow I presume?" He asked  "Yes." Shane said "It's nice to meet you I am Dr. Slutsky." He said "Can you take off your contacts for me?" He asked. Daniel took Shane's case and opened it Shane took out her contacts and handed them to Daniel. Dr. Slutsky looked at Shane's eyes and took some notes. "When was the last time you took them out?" He asked "Thursday evening before she went to bed." Daniel said. The doc took some more notes "It would appear that you have some redness in your eyes that may lead to serious eye infections or worse you could go blind." He said "I can?" Shane asked "Its a small chance but it could happen." The Doc said "I recommend that you stop wearing them for a few weeks. 3 weeks just to be safe after those 3 weeks come back and I can give you the okay for you to put them back on until then take these eye drops every two days starting today." He said handing Shane a bottle of eye drops. "Thanks." She said "I will see you in 3 weeks just be sure to take care of your eyes." The Doc said "I will." Shane and Daniel walked back into the waiting room where the others were talking. Mark was the first to notice "Hey gu- whoa." He said "What's wrong?" Shane asked "Mark? What's u- whoa." Jack said everyone else looked at Shane they were shocked except for Riley, Alex and the twins. "Shane... your eyes." Stephanie said "You don't like them do you." Shane said "No it's not that it's just wow." Felix said in awe "Blue and green who would've thought." Jack said "See told you." Riley said slinging her arm around Shane "I can't wear contacts for three weeks can you guys deal with this for the mean time." Shane said "I think we're gonna get used to it. You look so much better without them." Mark said. They all left the doctor and headed home the twins were taking a nap and Daniel and Alex went to work. "So what should we do?" Stephanie asked there was a knock on the door "I got it." Jack walked to the door "Matt, Nate hey guys." He said Matt and Nate walked in and greeted everyone "Hey gu- whoa Shane what happened to your eyes?" Nate asked Matt was a little bit confused "Babe what do you mean Shane's eyes are bro- whoa." Matt looked at Shane's eyes "Are you wearing contacts or something?" He asked "Nope these are my real eyes." Shane said "But they were brown at school." Nate said "I wore brown eyed contacts." She explained "You look better this way." Nate said "That's what I said." Mark called out. "I thought you guys were gonna call me a freak." Shane said "Not with cool eyes like those." Matt said. "Thanks guys you really are the best." Shane said.
