Chapter 19: Time To Pick Some Names!!

'Y/n. I told Fuyumi to let you sleep in, because you've not been sleeping. I've already left for school, and notified Aizawa-sensei. Take the bus.-Todoroki Shoto' You groan, reading the note and not even bothering to look at the time, being you were salty. Not that you could really blame him for wanting to leave, but he could've waited......

It didn't change the fact you were late, as you quickly got dressed, leaving the tie undone as usual and dashing out the door, only to look up and notice the rain. Sighing, you pay no mind and continue to run, not wanting to take the bus due to the amount of attention you know you'd be receiving for being a U.A. student.

Todoroki sat quietly in his seat, just observing everyone for now as he busied himself with his own thoughts, its no doubt that today will be the day their internships will be announced and that made him a little nervous. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the clock read; 8:25. There was just about five minutes before class would begin.

Some of your classmates seemed to notice as well. "Where's Y/n?" Hagakure says, looking around the room, and had been eyeing the door this whole time. "Is she ok?" Kaminari asks, before looking back at Todoroki. "Yo, Todoroki! Hasn't Y/n been staying at your house?" Todoroki nods. "Yeah, she'll be a little late, cause she overslept."

Midoriya sweat drops, "Does she know how to get to the school?"

"Yeah, we al-"

Wait.

Every time you went to school, he was there to lead you back. Have you ever actually gotten to school by yourself?

Todoroki stands up suddenly. "I'll be right back." he mutters to Midoriya, running out the door. "Tell Sensei I'll be a little late!!"

Meanwhile, you were currently running up and down the streets near the Todoroki residence, unsure of where the hell you were even going. "Aaah! Which way was it to the school?! Left?! Right?!" you cry, now soaked from the pouring rain. A woman walking her dog from across the street sweat drops, and walks faster, to get away from you.

"Oh! Maybe if I call hi-" you reach down into your pocket, only to see that you didn't bring your phone. Suddenly you let out a yelp, slipping on the wet sidewalk and falling back onto the cold and wet concrete. You wince, your butt stinging now.

'This is pointless.....'

You sigh, laying back on the sidewalk, looking up at the rain as it gently hit your face, and a couple times in your eye which made you shut them tightly. Your whole body was shivering from the cold, since you had no umbrella and it didn't seem like the dark rainy clouds were disappearing any time soon. "Maybe I am meant to be alone....." you mutter softly.

"Y/n....?"

You sit straight up, crying out as your end up headbutting what felt to be another person in the forehead, making them groan as well. "OUCH! What the fu-" You open one eye and notice it's Todoroki, who has a dark blue umbrella in one hand, while the other rested on his forehead. "Y/n, are you okay?" he asks after a moment.

You nod, trying to ignore the fact your eye was twitching from the throbbing pain in your forehead. "Shouldn't I be asking that?" you joke, slowly starting to get up. "Ack, I'm so wet....." you mutter in disgust, seeing how soaked your sleeves were, sticking to your body.

"Here." Todoroki lifts the umbrella so it sheltered the both of you. "You still don't know how to get to school huh?" he asks, making you tense and chuckle nervously. "Yeah....Good thing I didn't take the bus...." If you ended taking the bus, there was no way Todoroki would've found you. You probably would've been in a completely different city!

"Let's go to class. Everyone's worried about you." he says, before the two of you continue to walk through the thundering rain. Somehow, despite the fact you were still soaking, you felt a lot warmer, knowing that Todoroki was here.

Once you reached the school, Todoroki guides you to the classroom, having a feeling you didn't know where it was either. Let's just say he wasn't wrong.

He leaves the umbrella outside of the classroom, before noticing how soaked you really were. Your hair was stuck to your face and neck, clearly annoying you as you kept trying to brush off a piece, only for it to be stuck on your hand, and cause a much large hassle.

Not to mention how your blazer was stuck to your arms, and he could see you shivering. Before opening the door, he starts to unbutton his blazer, slipping it off and holding it out to you. You hum in response, looking at him confused before realizing he was giving you his blazer. "I-I can't Todoroki-kun! Then you'll be cold!" you reason, pointing to how short his sleeves were.

The male shakes his head. "I'll be fine. The fact your clothes are wet will make you sick in this weather, so the least you can do is take off your blazer." You wanted to argue more, but the look on his face said otherwise. Sighing, you obey and slip off your blazer before taking his, and putting it on. There was still some left over body heat, which made you sigh in relief, already feeling more warm.

"Thanks Todoroki-kun." you smile to the male, who for some reason looks down. "Y-yeah...." he opens the door, and all eyes are on the two of you. Aizawa was standing at the front of the classroom. "Take a seat you two. We need to talk about hero nominations."

You make a small "Gek!" sound at this, and Todoroki merely nods before the two of you take your seats. Your eye twitches slightly seeing Bakugo was just giving you the stink eye, but do your best to ignore it. Aizawa continues, "It's based on who the pros think will be ready to join the hero work force after another two or three years of experience.... So you can say it's a way for them to show interest in your future." he says."

Aizawa showed on the board the Class A pick Totals. Todoroki was first with 4,123, Bakugo was second with 3,456 and you are third with 2,347. "Didn't the pros get first and second place mixed up?" Mina asks. Sero grins, looking at the female. "It's probably because they're scared of Bakugo."

"What the fuck are they scared of?!" he yells, making you sweat drop hearing such a stupid question. Yaoyorozu looked at Todoroki and smiled. "Well done as always, Todoroki." He sighed and looked at his lap. "It's mostly just my father influence..." he trailed off while Uraraka was just in tears right now, shaking Iida furiously, glad she even made it on the board.

Mineta pats Midoriya on the shoulder. "You're not up there! Told you you'd scare them away!" Aizawa clears his throat, silencing the class. "With that settled, whether you were picked or not you will have a chance to work alongside the pro heroes. It's true that you have already experienced more than most.... but seeing the pros in action and taking part yourselves will still be worthwhile training."

"That's where our hero names come in!" Sato exclaims. "This is really getting fun!" Uraraka says happily. "They're only tentative but you still want to pick something appropriate." he mutters. "They're only tentative, but you still want to pick something appropriate." Aizawa said, looking at the door as it opened.

"Or else you'll experience true hell." Midnight's voice called out as she walked in, hands behind her head, overflowing with charisma. "The name you pick may be what the world ends up calling you, that's happened to plenty of pro heroes out there."

"Midnight!" the class exclaims seeing the pro hero walk in. Most of the boys were staring at her amazing figure. "Midnight will assess your hero names, and help you pick them." he sighs. "Since I'm not good at that." he grumbles. Midnight handed whiteboard to each row as they were passed down.

Aizawa sighed gently, picking up his sleeping bag. "What future do you see yourself as? The name you chose will bring you ever close to cementing an image, because names are capable of reflecting one's true character." Aizawa explained, slipping inside his sleeping bag.

You sigh, never thinking about something like that. "Maybe I should just use my name?" you mutter. Midnight had given everyone fifteen minutes. You looked around seeing everyone was deep in thought, trying to come up with some kind of hero name.

And soon enough, the fifteen minutes were up and you still have a blank whiteboard. "Let's finish up!" Midnight says. "Let's start with whoever's ready!" Aoyama goes first as he stands in the front, showing off his whiteboard high in the air. "Shining Hero! I cannot stop twinkling!!"

"It's a whole sentence!" the class exclaims. "It'll be easier if you take out the 'I' and contract cannot into 'can't." Midnight says. "Of course madameoiselle!" Aoyama says making the adjustments. The class sweat drops. "Is that English or French?" they all mutter.

'What...What kind of name is that...?!' Midnight thought to herself, questioning what went on in that kid's mind. Mina went next. "Call me Alien Queen!"

"FROM THE SEQUEL?! IS IT BECAUSE HER BLOOD WAS SUPER ACIDIC?! THAT'S TERRIBLE!!" Midnight said shaking her head as a big fat no to this.

Everyone in the class felt weird now. Since the first two were funny names they felt they should make their names funny. "Can I go next please?" Tsuyu raises her hand. Midnight nods, silently praying for a good name.

"I've had this thought out since middle school, Rainy Season Hero: Froppy!" Everyone sighs with relief, thankful Tsuyu managed to turn the mood around. "Sounds cute!" Midnight squeals. "You sound friendly and that you would be easy to get to know!"

Kirishima, feeling his confidence boosted, stands up next and presents his hero name. "This is me!" He showed everyone his white board. "Red Riot!" He announced with a big smile. "...Red Riot, could this be a homage to Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot?!" Midnight asked with a smile. "That's right! I know he's from way back in the day but Crimson's the hero I want to be!" Kirishima said proudly, eyes twinkling at this.

Midnight took the board from him, looking at the name, "You know, carrying the name of someone you admire means you're going to be hit with a corresponding amount of pressure."

"Don't worry, I'm prepared for it!!"

You look down at your board. 'Hero name....' Daring to take a chance, you lightly tap Bakugo on the shoulder and he looks at you with a glare. "What?"

"Um....What's your hero name?" you ask, with a strain in your voice to keep yourself from yelling in his face. He raises an eyebrow at this, but instead of yelling at you he just sighs. "You'll see."

Well. That was shocking. Shocking enough you had to look away, making him confused but he thought nothing of it. Jirou and some of your other classmates went, and it'd be wrong to say you didn't like some of their names.

"KING EXPLOSION MURDER!"

Midnight and the rest of the class just sweat drops at this name, "You're better off getting rid of that name..." Midnight says. "WHY?!"

"How about Blasty Boy?!" Kirishima suggests making you snicker. He notices of course and instantly calls you out on it. "SHUT UP L/N! I DON'T SEE YOUR HERO NAME!" You raise an eyebrow at this. "Oh~? Fine." you stand up, keeping the whiteboard facing your chest so no one could see it.

Bakugo takes his seat, eyeing you closely as he waited to see what kind of hero name you came up with. No one would admit it, but everyone was actually quite excited to see what name you came up with. Even though you had first approached them as the enemy, they'd grown to like you as a classmate quite a bit.

Finally you show off the board and read aloud; "Lucid Dreaming Hero: Euphoria."
