The night that changed everything

one month later.

*******************************************************

" Alright, Ellianna, Brison, you're up next," Said Miss Clark, from the back of the class, as she leaned against the wall, to watch the students present their projects at the top of the class.

Brison and I looked at each other and we got up out of our seats. Brison carried up the volcano on the wooden board, with his super strength, as it was sitting on his desk. I carried up the ingredients for the lava. Once we reached the top of the class , I quickly cleared back some space on the desk and Brison set it down. I handed the ingredients over to Brison and he began preparing it for when we poured it all in. While he did that, I plugged in the USB stick into the projector and picked up the remote. Clearing my troth, with a gentle cough, I began explaining how a volcano is formed, with each slide. At the end I turned and directed to Brison, who had everything in, except the baking soda, which we put in last. We had put it in a plastic bottle, with a whole in the top, so we only poured in what we needed, but we brought twice as much in the bottle, in case some spilled out. We only need a little. He gave me the thumbs up and picked up the bottle and turned it upside down over the top of the volcano, but a little sprinkle of the baking soda came out, so we could control how much went in safely, oh no.

The top fell off as it had not twisted on, but had just been sitting on the bottle and all of the baking soda came rushing out, before we had a chance to stop it. With that, the lava, which should have just spilled out over the top, exploded out from the top and covered Brison and I. From the back of the room I saw Dylan burst out laughing his head off. Then I remembered seeing him at my desk, when I came back from the bathroom, Miss had been occupied yelling at some one. I foolishly though nothing of it and forgot about it, until I was cover in vinegar and baking soda. I stood the frozen to the spot from shock and pure anger at that idiot.

" You have my permission to go home, for the rest of the day seeing as there is only a few classes left to get washed off," Said the Principal, to Brison and I.

We all trudged off, soaking wet. We had just got outside when, I noticed Brison was not beside me. I turned around to see him still standing right in front of the door.

" What are you doing?" I asked.

To answer my question, he burst out laughing. I knew right well what he was laughing at.

" Well, you can hardly talk. Look at yourself. You look like a red traffic cone," I shouted at him.

This only made him laugh more.  Agitated and getting cold I began walking away, leaving him there.

" Ellie, babe, I'm just kidding, you look fine," He shouted after me, trying to hide the humour in his voice, but failing miserably.

I could hear him running after me, but I ignored him, until he wrapped his arms around me and began to nuzzle his face into the side of my neck. I tried to push him off, but his grip was too strong. When he started to bite my neck, I started to laugh, until I was weak at the knees at I was dependent on him to stay standing. He let go and took my hand and we walked home. He left me a the front door and I went in and got dressed. We did not take his car in case we ruined it and his parents killed him. When I came in, my mom was home. it was her day off from the office. She dose not get many of those. She was surprised to see me home so early, so I explained what happened with the volcano and Dylan the devil. She laughed her ass off just like Brison and applauded his genius on the moment thinking. I will admit he had many hilarious genius on the moment ideas, my favourite involving girls from school I did not like, but this, I can honestly say, is not one I particularly like. Dismissing her favouritism towards her, new child Dylan, as she called him and as he called himself, and went up to my room and got out of my smelly, red wet clothes. I hoped I got the smell of vinegar off of me in time for the ball. About three weeks ago Brison asked me to a ball in the vampire realm, hosted by the king and queen. I had heard many amazing stories about both of them, but I was most looking forward to meting Red. She sounded bad ass.  Dylan had asked Megan since now there are a thing. He makes her so happy. I have never seen him be so nice to any one. He is constantly making her laugh. Around the same time they asked us, they both took us out to get dresses, shoes and jewellery. I quickly got into my shower and began to scrub at the red and vinegar. It took me three attempts at washing my hair to get the smell out and almost a full bottle of my favourite strawberry body wash. I had just stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a big fluffy towel, when Megan walked up the stairs. She was going to get ready at my house with me.

" Your mom let me in," She said.

" How was school?" I asked as we walk into my room.

" Boring," She replied.

" So you gonna get a shower?" I asked as I ruffled my hair in an other towel, drying it.
" I suppose I must," she said as she got off the bed. Just as she did, the door bell rang.
" That must be Dylan, with my dress," said Megan as she ran down stairs.
" Who is it?" I heard my mom ask.
" Don't worry, it's just your other child with my dress," She answered.
" Oh, it's my baby, let him in," she yelled as I heard her high heels click frantically across the floor. The door swung open and I heard my mom squeel.
" How is my son?" She asked.
" I'm fine mom and you,"
I egnored them from there own, I had to get ready for the ball, my mom believes to be a wedding.
I got dried off and wrapped myself in my night robe. I heard Megan say goodbye and the door close. She came running back up stairs. She hung the dress on the back of my door and had her shower. She was quicker then I was, and strolled into my bedroom wrapped in a towel. She picked up the remote to my speakers and pressed play letting up to date music, flow into the room. We dried our hair and styled it. I went for big wavy curls, which fell down my back, in a fairytale kind of way and Megan went for a pretty up style.

We did our make up next, as Megan has a black dress she did smokey eye and I went for a natural look with contours. We got into our next so not to ruin them with our make up. I ran into the bathroom to slip on my underwear and on my way out was greeted by Megan rushing in to do the same. I hurried into my room and pulling my wardrobe door open I carefully took out my dress. It was black lace ball gown, with no back. It had a ribbon go across the waist. I clipped in my diamond earrings and slipped on my matching diamond necklace. Dabbing on some perfume, I was ready. I turned to Megan who was ready to. Out side, with clouds were painted across the pink evening sky as it was getting late. Naturally being a vampire ball, it was all going to be at night.

We were fixing ourselves, when once again the doorbell rang. My heart began to beat faster. I was so excited. I had never been to a ball before, nor had I met a vampire, well not that I know of. My mom called up to us to tell us our dates had arrived. Taking a deep breath in an attempt to stifle my excitement, I made my way down stairs with Megan. The first thing I saw was my mom, Dylan and Brison, He hand to been paying attention when I first seen him, but once he noticed me, his face dropped. That made me blush and feel a little proud. My mom had clasped her hands together and let out a little squeal.

" Oh, you all look so stunning," She said, standing back and looking at us all.

" Thanks mom," I answered shyly.

Never in my life did I feel so elegant. I walked over to Brison and he smiled down at me. He pulled me in closer to him by the waist.

" You look stunning," He whispered in my ear sending shivers down my spine.

" You look pretty amazing yourself," I said, admiring his tux, perfectly fitted so it clung to every muscle.

" Well you can't all just stand here all night, come on, off you go. And wait 'till you see your " mode of transportation"," Stressed my mom, saying the last bit, extra fancy.

She hurried us out of the door and then I understood what she was talking about. A sleek black limo was waiting on the road outside my house, with dance music pumping out into my street from the opened windows. I took a look around to find my neighbours out on their lawns and at their fronts doors to get a look at the limo, as this was usually a very quiet street and most of the house were occupied with older people. They were intrigued by such a modern and fancy attraction on our street. They looked happy for us, which was sweet. A few who caught me looking at them, smiled and wove. I smiled and wove back. I was a little shy. It was not like cheerleading, where I was entraining, but to just stand there and have so many people looking at you, when you were doing nothing but standing there all dolled up, was nerve racking. My Mom whipped out her phone and began taking pictures of us all. Brison, gently placing his hand on my back, lead me over to the Limo and opened the door for me. I turned around, wove goodbye to my mom and slipped in. I slid over a few seats to make room for the others. Brison sat down next to me. Once we were all in, we closed the door and the music seemed a lot louder and it was darker, making it easier for the flashing lights from the roof, put you in a trance. I looked to my left to see, six other people. Two girls and four guys. I already knew then, but not very well.  They were in Brisons pack. They were all very friendly. Dylan told me that it was their fairy heritage which made them friendly and so nature loving. We were handed a glass of champagne with a strawberry on the rim of the glass. I saw a cooler with other bottles. Everything was so hectic and loud. I felt dizzy, but there was a buzz to it.

" Did you do this?" I asked Brison.

I had to lean in and shout so he could hear me over the music.

" No. It's courtesy of the king and queen. It comes with the whole ally package," He told me.

" If this is just how we get there, I can't wait to see the party," I said.

" Oh, Arrow knows how to through a party. It's one of their national holidays. It's in honour of Red,"

" Why. Is it her birthday or something?"

" No. It's in celebration the day she became royal advisor. Of course she's not anymore, but that led her to met the king, so the vampires find it a very important part of their history. I remember when she asked me. She called it " some royal festival," He told me.

" Did she not want to tell you it was for her?"

" She probably forgot. She's very humble about those sort of things,"

With each new thing I learned of her, the more I wanted to meet her.  The rest of the trip was fun, with drinking and music and flashing lights. After a while, we noticed a sun roof. We took turned standing up and looking out the top. The cool, night air was so refreshing after being in the stuffy limo for so long.  It gave me goose bumps, which were only added to the ones I had from excitement. I had never had so much fun in my life. We were out of town by now and driving down the road that takes you past the woods. I could see the to my left. There was something so exhilarating about the beat of the dance music, the fancy dress and the night, with its cold air. There were butterflies in my stomach. We began to slow down and we went down an old dirt road, which was not used anymore. Brison stood up beside me and put his hands either side of me on the roof, so I would not fall. Very gradually at first, then all of a sudden we were going at lighting speed. I quickly clung onto Brison, but he just laughed at how nervous I was. Then, making my face drop from fear, I noticed we were driving up train tracks. My heart jumped up into my throat, when I the distance I heard a train horn and froze from fear, when I heard it again, but much closer. Then coming around a corner, I was hit by the bright light off the front of a train. It was getting closer and closer by the second and we were still driving on he tracks, towards it.  I quickly dropped and closed my eyes, waiting for the impact of what was to come from driving here. Brison sat down beside me and wrapped his arms around me, hushing me telling me it was okay. I waited for the ear piercing sound when the whistle from the train rang to warn us, and then the crash of metal, which would lead us all to be crushed. I waited. And waited. But nothing happened. I slowly opened my eyes, to find everyone staring at me.

" What's she worried about?" Megan asked Dylan.

" The portal must have scared her," He told her.

" Portal?" I asked, taken completely by surprise.

" Yeah. Use things like train illusions to scare humans from coming in," Explained Brison.

" So, we're here?" Asked Megan.

" Yup, look," Said Dylan.

She went to stand up, but looked at me and gave a bright smile. I quickly stood up with her and together we poked our heads out of the sun roof. I gasped from surprise, as did Megan. We both gazed at the unexpected scenery. The last place I remember being was in an isolated woods, far from civilisation, but now we were in what a huge city I have ever beheld or even heard of. We drove slowly out from an ally, between to large buildings, with railings that climbed zig zagged up the side, to apartments and cats hung around in groups, searching the bins and climbing along the pipes and railings. Upon noticing us, they paused and starred. What mysterious creatures. They live at night, roaming the streets, doing as they please, isolated away from everyone else. A world of their own. Well I guess, they were not alone at night here, for as we drove out of the ally, and into a small back road and then onto the main road, through the city. I saw people, or vampires, going about a normal routine. In and out of shops, sitting at cafes, chatting as though it were nine o'clock in the day. It was like Milan or Paris. Everyone was so glamorous, with their designer handbags and sports cars. It did not take long for us to catch their attention. At first, they were a little confused then, when some one shouted out.

" They must be going to the ball!"

Once that was announced, their faces brightened up and they wove and raced to the side of the rod, to get a better look. I looked to Megan, who had the same excited expression as me. I felt like a celebrity. We wove back. Some one inside the limo caught Megan's attention and she spoke to them, but I could not hear nor see who it was. I heard her say, sure no problem and the she turned to me.

" Brison wants to stand with you for just a moment. He says he wants to show you something. I've to look out the window too," She told me.

I shrugged and when she slipped back down I looked down to see Brison ready to stand up. They crowd, was still excited but curious mummers grew as to why Megan was gone and who I was talking to.

" Watch this," He said.

I was curious as to what he meant, but I waited to see none the less. and slowly he stood up, like a model and fixed his dress blazer, pulled a god like smile, with soul piercing eyes. And with that, that crowd went a blaze with excitement and chanted his name. My eyes widened with surprise.

" Because I'm close to the king and queen, I'm considered a bit of a celebrity here. Especially because I'm an alpha and youngest, all the rest are in their 40's and 50's, So they see me as kind of their werewolf Bieber. And because I'm so damn sexy," He said making me laugh.

I looked up into his eyes, mid laugh, to see him smiling down at me. I pulled my gaze away from shyness and distracted myself with the crowds. They were a little suspicious looking towards me now, that I was with Brison. To confirm their theory's to rest, he put an arm around my back and pulled me into him, kissing me. Awww's erupted from the crowd and even some cheers. When we pulled away, I was a little shy, But my attention was caught completely by the spot lights shining up into the night sky. And Behind A palace a lit up like the fourth of July.

We drove for a few more minutes, through the city and even met other limos, that must have also been on their way to that ball. And people were standing out of the sky light in those limos too. We wove to each other. The people in the crowds knew most of them and called after them, trying to get their attention, but they were too busy talking to one an other. It was like when at the Oscars, the fans would scream to their hero's, but the celebrities were chatting with their famous friends and you were so envious that you were not one of them, in on their private little conversations. But here I was. Up amongst, glamorous celebrities, with people calling for us. It felt like magic.

" Why hello Brison," called out some one from the limo behind us.

We both turned around to look at the person. It was a young lady, maybe in her mid 20's, taking a swing straight from the bottle. She was down up to perfection, with flawless make up and an amazing dress. I clung to Brison from the cold and he wrapped and arm around me, to keep me close.

" Hello Maria. You look lovely," He said.

I felt a pang of jealously at this beautiful, probably vampire, being so informal with Brison. I know that he would never cheat, but I could not help it.

" Oh, this old thing," She said pulling at her designer dress carelessly.

" Between just us three, I got this at Chanel a few weeks ago, from a moment of weakness," She said, with a loud laugh.

" Is that a bad thing?" I asked, amazed that she was embarrassed to be wearing CHANEL.

" She's a vampire aristocrat, when it comes to parties, they were clothes designed and made for them personally or they won't wear anything. They are really well off," He whispered to me.

I really was in a magical version of Hollywood, wasn't I.

" And who is this little darling?" She asked smiling at me.

I felt less threatened by her now that she was acknowledged me.

" This is my mate, Ellieanna," He said proudly.

" Well it is lovey to met you. We simply must go shopping some time, I insist. Ah, Jasper, how've you been, you old goat," She called to a other limo.

I looked to Brison and we both gave a little laugh. It was all so crazy. I hardly knew what to make of it, other then fast and fun. And the party has not even started yet. The limos began to get in one after an other and slowed down as we took a turn through big gates, heavily guarded, with velvet ropes, keeping the crowds back. We went up a huge Drive way, with spot lights either sides of the road and darkened gardens, beyond the spot lights and trees that lined the road. The further we went the more visible the palace became. Brison sat back down to let Megan see, as every one else already has.

We both shrieked from excitement when we saw, roped off crowds and television reporters. There was a red carpet leading right up to the front doors. These celebrities were walking up along the carpet talking to the journalists and taking pictures and signing autographs. We quickly sat back down and waited for the limo to pull to a stop. With each new limo, the attention was all on who ever was inside, until the next limo came along. I was so excited. Then, much to my pleasure, the car stopped and we braced out selves for the cameras. The others from the pack were getting out first, the Dylan and Megan and lastly, Brison and I. The doors opened and the Journalist were already sticking their microphones and cameras at us. The rest got and when it came to our turn, I gripped Brisons hand for support.

" Will my mom see this on T.V.?" I asked.

" No, this is a different world, so they have their own stations and internet. They don't reach our world," he told me, laughing slightly at me.

He gave my hand a tight squeeze and then got out before me. Once again, the crowds went wild. I guess it was because Brison never brought a date before, that the servant who opened our door, went to close it, But Brison stopped him. This caught the attention of the reporters and the crowd. They waited, even stood on their tippy, toes, to see who was getting out of the car. I slowly put my feet out on the ground and taking Brisons hand, he helped me stand up. Once I was standing, he wrapped his arm around me and we began to walk in.

" What do we have here. Are thousands of hearts about to be broken? Brison, tell us, who is this beautiful young lady you have here with you tonight?" asked a lady with a microphone as a camera peered over her shoulder at us. So this is what it looks like on the other end of the T.V.

" This is my mate, Ellieanna," He told her.

" And tell us Ellie, can I call you Ellie?" She asked.

" Of course," I told her.

" How long have you and Brison been going out?"

" About a month now," I told her.

" A whole month. What's he like on the side of the portal, as charming as he s here?"

" I've never been here with him before, I've actually never been here before, so I'm not sure, but he is like a prince charming yes," I said and he looked at me smiling.

Placing a hand on his shoulder, I gazed up into his eyes.

" Well you two look just adorable together, I hope you have a lovely evening," She said.

" Thank you," We said and moved along.

We gave a few more short interviews, that went more or less the same way. After that, we took selfies with the crowd and signed autographs. We even stood and chatted to groups of girls, who were crying after getting to touch Brison. We were both called to different side of the carpet, so he went to one group and I went to the other.

" OMG. You're like so lucky be dating Brison. He's like a god," Said a group of teenage girls, with his name written on their arms, foreheads and posters.

" Would you say hi to my friend Bethany?" Asked one holding up a phone.

I took the phone and held it up to my ear only to hear sobbing.

" Hello?" I asked.

" OMG. I'm like watching you on T.V. right now, you look amazing," She said.

" Thank you," I said, looking over my shoulder to find one of the cameras looking at me, with a reported pointing at me, taking to the camera. I wove.

" Can you see me waving?" I asked.

" AHHHHHHHHHHH. OMG. YES. CAN YOU DO IT AGAIN, SO I CAN TAKE A PICTURE?"

I laughed and did it again.

" OMG, OMG, OMG. THANK YOU,"

" Well it was nice talking to you, bye," I said, handing back the phone.

" Would you take a picture with me?" asked one.

" Sure, lets do this," I said as I turned around and got behind the camera.

About five other girls, crowded in to get in the picture too.

I said goodbye and left.

" So how do you like it?" Asked Dylan as he stood beside me.

" It's amazing. I feel like a celebrity," I said.

" Awww, she "thinks" she's a celebrity. Brison's found himself a cute one," said a reporter behind me.

Shocked, I turned to Dylan.

" Was I wrong to say that?"

" No, to them, you are. That's why they find it funny," He said.

" Oh. How do you do it, I'm mean they listen to everything you say," I said, under my breath and stretching up so he could hear. Lightly laughing, he leaned down to me.

" You learn to be carefully about what you say," He said.

He stood back up and I sunk back to my normal height. We stood there and casually chatted with other people who were attending, Dylan introduced me to the most unusual people, who only made the night more interesting.

Finally, Megan, Brison and the others joined us. The other pack members who travelled in a separate limo joined us and we made our way into the palace. The two front doors must have at least been ay least 15 foot each and were pulled back to reveal a stunning grand entrance, decorated with flowers and gold designs on the wall. It looked like Buckingham palace. Bigger. Grander. In front of us were two more doors, leading into a small room, but on the sides were two other doors, which must have led to the ball room. On either side of the door, leading to the small room, were stair cases that met just above the door and had a balcony, that stretched out the length of the wall above the door in front of us.

At the end of the balcony were two doors which led into the unknown. We moved with the crowd and were soon in the small room, beyond the second set of doors. Inside, were two more doors on either side. We went to the left and were taken into the most lavished, gigantic ball room. Walking out the doors, I notice a staircase to my right, going down between the two door of the small room. The wall in front of us in that room, must have been the staircase. A little up the stairs, there was a spilt, two more staircases, one going left and one going right. They both bended with the wall and went up and into the wall, they probably ended with a door which led to a corridor that went down the wall and off either side, but I was not sure as both staircases were hidden behind long white sheets, which ended where both stairs met. The ballroom was lit with a soft yellow glow, giving it an elegant vibe. There were pillars going down either side of the ball room, and like the trees were marking the line of the garden, They marked where the ball room, had two smaller ballrooms, on either side. We made our way into one of the smaller ballrooms. At the very top of the room, were steps which led up to two powerful looking thrones. There was light music from a orchestra in the other small ball room and chatter from the guests. Clinking of classes and causally laughing rung in the air. Waiters walked around with trays carrying glasses of champagne, with slices of strawberry of the rim. We all took one and sipped, while we talked. A few cameras and reporters were documenting what was happening. Most of the fuss was about seeing the king and queen. I was a little disappointed, with the ball, after the build up to it. It was all such a rush and there was so much excitement, I was not expecting it to be so casual.

" Is this what all the balls are like?" I asked.

" Yup. This is pretty much it," He said.

" So what's all the commotion about?"

Just as I said that, the easy go music from the orchestra began to pick up. It seemed almost like salsa. With in seconds, I recognised it to be, lets get loud. I was not the only one who had noticed the change . Everyone  was looking around to see what would happen, when suddenly, a couple beside, me dropped their coats, to reveal salsa dancing costumes. They began dancing with each other on the spot. Their bodies swayed to the music. The spot light shun down on them and everyone looked at the two dancers. Then an other spot light turned on across the ball room, showing two more dancers. With in seconds, here were a dozen spot lights all illuminating dancers, in sparkly costumes, spinning and swaying to the music. The spot lights began to move to the middle of the ball room, for a big group dance. People moved out of the way to give them space. Megan, Dylan, Brison and I all slipped into the main ball room, to get a better look. They were amazing.

The music began to slow down and the dancers stopped and all looked up at the two white sheets blocking off the staircases. The music changed once again. This time the trumpets led and opened the song party rock anthem. Their lights dimmed down ad lights behind the sheets shun, show the silhouette, of a man on one stair case an a woman of the other, both of their sizes magnified so they were easier to see. I could only have guesses them to be the king at queen. Their shadows showed, them putting on gloves and fixing their clothes. Once the crowd began cheering, they looked down and wove. Of course they could not see past the sheet, but it was all an act. The queen began to pat her head as though she was looking for something. The king wove across at her and caught her attention. He held up a crown and she nodded her head in delight. He pointed to it and then to her. She nodded back and the both, very majestically floated down the stairs. Just as they reached the bottom and where the sheet ended, spot lights came on where the two staircases met and they both walked out. The crowd cheered and screamed, but they ignored them and walked straight over to each other. He held up the crown and she went to take it but he stopped her and pointed to his check. She leaned in to kiss his check, but he spun his head around and their lips collided. The crowd cheered even more. They both fell into a passionate, kiss and embraced each other. They pulled away, but still in each others arms. She stood back and bowed her head at him as he, placed the crown on it. I melted in side at such a cute little show, but everyone could tell the passion in the kiss was no act.

She stood back up and as it was her day, he took her hand and led her to the top of the stairs, where she stood out in front of him. She took a bow and turned back around to her husband and took his hand. They both quickly ran down the steps and once they were at the bottom, took each other in their arms and began to waltz quickly to the fast music. As the music picked up, he spun her around and at the climax of the music, the dancers jumped in and gave an other performance. The king and queen, took this chance, to jog to their thrones. They did not sit down, but rather stood clapping to the music and for the dancers like everyone else. At one point, while they were clapping to the beat, he leaned over and whispered something to her, which made her laugh. There was something about them that just worked. He was not the most well built boy and she was not the most petite of figures, in face they looked like teens from the same class, who would not even know each others name, but seeing them up there, just felt right. they looked so happy. In love. When the music stopped, the dancers all turned and pointed to the queen and everyone cheered. She stood out.

" Thank you all, for coming to my.....ehmmmmm. Arrow?" She asked. She did not seem embarrassed as she knew this whole room would kill to be her best friend.

" Anniversary of royal status," She told her and only her.

" Yes, that. I can never remember the names or dates of these things. That's why I have Arrow," she said and the whole room laughed.

" Anyway. Arrow has planned a most wonderful evening for us all, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. And now, let the ball begin," she as she threw her arms in the air and two confetti cannons went off littering the air with golden, shiny, flakes of paper. Up to date music began to play and couples took to the floor to dance. Brison took my glass from my and out both of our glasses on a tray as a waiter walked by. He took my hand and led me onto the dance floor.

" I wasn't finished with that," I teased.

" It was empty, so you were going to eat the glass?" he teased right back.

" Hay, if you're gonna love me, you're gonna love all of me, even my glass eating sides," I said.

He pulled me into him and we began to dance with the other couples. I could now get a glimpse of the kind and queen. I was most interested in the queen thought from the stories I had heard of her. I though I got attention earlier on the carpet, out side. Every camera was surrounding her and all the reporters were shoving their micro phones at her. But unfortunately for them, it seemed, they could not go beyond the first step to the thrones, so she a bit of space. She spoke with Arrow mostly an then scanned the room, until her eyes, fell on Brison and I. She smiled at us and turned to Arrow and said something to him. He to then looked our way, giving the most friendly smile I had every seen, while her smile seemed more deep, as her chin rested on her palm, as her elbow sat on the arm o f her throne. I nudged Brison and directed with my head to the king and queen. He smiled at them. She held up her hand made a come here motion with her hand. Shocked, I stopped. I looked to Brison as to what do to. I wiped my sweaty hands in my dress skirt. He placed a hand on my back and led up past the other dancers, who thankfully ignored us and right up to the steps. She wove a hand causally at the reporters, with out even looking at them and the bowed their heads and moved out of the way for us. As soon as we had passed, they got back in place to record what happened next. I went to bow, but she stopped me, holding up her hand, which is when I noticed the small red ribbon tighed around her wrist. The small and somewhat ragged ribbon, looked out of place, next to her diamonds, crown and lavish ball gown, but I said nothing.

" There's no need for that, I hope you're going to be my friend, not my solider. You do not have to bow ," She said.

I felt so relaxed and welcome just by her saying that. It is not what you would expect from someone with so much power.

" I never got your name from Brison," She said.

" I'm Ellianna. Brison told you about me?" I asked.

" He did. He hadn't asked you yet. You were just picked partners for a project that day," She told me.

That was cute of him, but I'm not going to let him live it down.

" He's told me so much about you too. Both of you. I can't believe I'm finally meting you," I said.

" OH ELLIEANNA. YOU-WHO. How's my baby doll?" asked a very drunk Maria, as she wobbled past.

" Don't tell me. You're invited to go shopping sometime," Joked Arrow.

" She dos that often. Darn. I thought that was our thing," I teased.

They all laughed.

" Don't worry, I'll bring out some law that says you can't. I wouldn't put anyone through that. Not while I'm ruling," Joked Red.

I gasped. I turned around to see the microphones so close.

" I think they got that," I whispered.

" So. What are they going to do about it?" She asked in a rhetorical question.

I shrugged. She had a point.

" Well darling,  I think it's time we show them what real dancing is," Teased Arrow as he stood up and took Reds hand. I took Brisons hand and we followed them down the steps. At the bottom they turned to us.

" We'll talk to you later. Nice meeting you Ellie," Said Arrow.

" Bye," I said and we walked off as the joined the dance.

We made our way back over to where we were before, but the others had joined the dance, so it was just me and Brison. While the rest of the pack, stayed for the second dance, Arrow and Red dropped out and made their way over to us.

" I'm so glad, those cameras are gone. I make sure they're out of here after our first dance. No way am I  having them buzzing around me like flies. Oh no. Arrow, why is he here?" Said Red.

" Who,"

" Your uncle Peter," She hissed as she pinched the bridge of her noise and turned away.

As she did so, a fat bald man beat into a tux, waddled over and stood boldly with his chest out next to Arrow.

" Ah. Arrow, my boy. How are you doing. Found a decent mistress yet," He asked, taking a glimpse at Red, who had her back to him and facing me. She rolled her eyes to the heavens and muttered under her breath.

" Is he still fat?" she asked me.

I let out a small giggle, but quickly stifled it, before any one noticed. I gave a quick nod.

" Good,"

" No, Peter. I have not. I'm not looking for one," He said calmly.

I was surprised he did not freak out and jump to her defence. If some one had said that to me, Brison would have killed them.

" Not fighting for her honour though, do you really love her?" Asked Peter.

" I don't have to. Red is more than capable of fighting herself. She knows when and how, so I'll leave it to her. I'm not worried about her," He answered  so causally, with his hands behind his back, like a real gentleman.

" You better shut up you fat old swine, or some how I'll have you dragged to the boarder, kicking and screaming and exiled," She threatened, finally turning around.

" Why have you not done so yet?" He tested.

Standing up in his personal space and glaring up at him, you could see the fire in her eyes.

" Because I have not found a strong enough solider or enough soldiers to carry out the task. Now I think you've had enough fun for this evening. Brison, Arrow, grab him and follow me. If I touch him, I'll kill him. We won't be a moment Ellie," She said.

I looked at Brison and he just shrugged.

" I have to do as she says," he said.

" It's okay. I'll wait here for you," I said.

Arrow and Brison took and arm each and she led them out of the room. I stood there for a moment on my own, just enjoying the music, when, from just a bit away, a girl caught my attention. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, with flawless skin and soft blond hair. She was staring at me too. I could not understand why I could not stop looking at her. Her star was different to mine. Where I was in awe, she was curious. A drunken group walked past her and once they were gone, so was she.  I was awoken from my daze. I stood on my tippy toes and stretched my neck trying to find her. After a moment, I gave up and sunk back down and leaned against the wall, waiting for Brison and the rest to come back.

" Enjoying the party?"

I spun around to find the girl standing behind me. I was taken completely by surprise. I stood staring for a moment at her beauty. Quickly snapping myself out of it, I answered her.

" Emm. Yes, are you?" I asked.

" I only just got here. Did I miss much?" She asked, her eyebrow raised as she took a sip of champagne.

What is going on here.

" Just the king and queens entrance," I said, still confused as to why she was talking to me.

" Well there's no point beating around the bush," she said.

This is it, I'm going to find out what she wants.

" What are you?" She asked.

" I'm sorry, what?"

" You're not a vampire, so what are you?"

" What makes you think I'm not a vampire?"

Holding the glass up to her mouth she turned away slightly and scanned the crowd.

" I'm a siren, so people are drawn in by my looks. Everyone except vampires and you were clearly fascinated with me, not that I blame you, but what are you," She asked.

" Oh, well I'm human-" I said, but was cut short, by the smash after she dropped her glass. She was frozen, but she slowly turned her heard to me hate in her eyes. I felt so threatened. Where was Brison.

" WHAT!" She said, but went unnoticed, as everyone was drunk and the music was loud. I went to take a step back, but she was quick to react and followed me.

She put her hand up as though she was going to grab my neck, but someone grabbed her hand and pulled her away. Red stood there, in a way I had not yet seen her. There was even more fire in her eyes then there was in the girls. But behind all the fire, was a tint of worry.

" You have a human here," She hissed.

" This doesn't have to escalate into anything," stressed Red.

" To hell it doesn't. You know what humans are like. They kill anything that's not human. She's a danger to us all," She shouted into Reds face, but Red being top dog, pulled her eyebrows together in anger and came up into her face.

" You will speak of this to no one," Warned Red.

The girl pulled her arm away and stood back. Looking at the two girls, was like looking at two lion ready two fight, but one is young and pugnacious and the other wise and trying to prevent it. I imagine who know who's who

" Wait till Lucifer hears of this," Snapped the girl.

" You will do no such thing,"

" You may have your throne and crown here with the vampires, but you are no queen to a siren,"

" Tell that to my armies," threatened Red.

The girls, bent down and picked up the handle from her glass, with a sharp broken top, from where it smashed and pointed it at her gut.

" Always hiding behind your armies," she said as she plunged forward and the glass plunged deep within in the stomach. We were all speechless to see Arrow standing there in font of his wife, fuming. He pulled the glass out and threw it to the side. Of course, already being dead, it had no effect on him. From what I heard of him and from what I seen myself, he was acting strange. He reached out like lighting and grabbed her neck. He lifted her off the ground. She scratched and clawed at his hand, but it did not stir. She shocked for air and the colour began to drain from her face. At the last moment he, dropped her to the ground, where she gasped for air. Red placed a hand on her husbands shoulder and turned him around to face her. She pulled him into a tight hug. At first he did not hug back as he was still enraged.

" I'm fine. Calm down," she whispered.

His shoulders dropped and his arms wound around her. He nuzzled his face into her hair.

" I'm sorry," He murmured.

" No, no, no. You were only being a good husband and......I don't mind you getting mad," She said.

When they stopped and turned around to see the girl, she had gone.
