I had accepted the awful reality that I would have to fight these hellish creatures. True fear takes over us every time they do this. Most times we catch Demons, they are just running around causing trouble. Those are usually the little satanic groups, but sometimes on a more serious and mature occasion, we have to deal with the king and his safisticated lunatic. They think they can just Wallace right in here uninvited. Using our land as a means of travelling from one place to an other, but we do not want that, because if we let them away with it the first time, then they all think they can come in here when ever they want and cause trouble. The king, Lucifer, not the devil, but a big fan, is never really a problem, besides the fact, he ca not make his subject stay out of out territory.

Demons are all the same in appearance. Sickly pale skin with dark eyes, like they are possessed. They are all very skinny and have jet black hair. They have long arms and legs, which make it easy for them to run and walk on all fours, like monkeys, which they tend to do. They have dark magic. The can do nothing good. Not much in the looks department, but especially the classy ones, right under the kings wing, are very smart. After Vampires and a few other creatures, they are the oldest creatures. Werewolves age at the same rate a human dose. So most of the things that were approaching me, were alot witter then me. I could almost feel there sharp razor like teeth sink into me. My skin was tingling in anticipation of the pain. My gut was jumping. Everything inside of me was already kicking a screaming, ready to fight, so it was torture trying to conceal it, until the last minute. My feet were itching to step back. My whole body was ridged as I forced myself not to run. So when I heard that order from behind me, every last nerve in me calmed down.

I turned around only to see Red.

When you have heard about Red and know how powerful they are you are very shocked upon meeting them.

Red is a, young to vampires, 16 year old looking girl. With long dark, brown hair with a small lock at the front wavy. She was wearing her signature leather pants, cream boots, leather jacket, red check shirt and a red ribbon tighed around her right wrist. The temperature had dropped and the clouds had cover the sun. Red must have done that. Being a vampire, she hate the sun, so changes the weather to her liking. A light fog had crept in, dimming down the light even more. She walked past me, giving me back my leather jacket, never looking at anyone. She had her focus on what lay below. When the Demons saw her, being the crazy creatures, laughed and snarled at her. Not being intimidated, Red put her right foot on a rock and leaned on it so she could lean out over the edge easily. She rested her hand causally on her knee and as she looked down at them, she gave one growl and all the Demon retreated, laughing historically from nerve.

Standing back up, she fixed her coat and bent down picking up a snapped branch. She looked to me and whispered.

" Come on."

She turned back around and casually made her way down the side of the valley. She spun and twisted the branch in her hand and between her fingers, like it was no more then a pen. Then grasping it a one end, she help it like it was a sword. As the two of us moved it, most of the Demons, retreated, but Salem, Stayed in the middle, not moving. As we got closer, she held out her branch. When he did not move, she held it up to his neck. Him still staying still and her still advancing on him, he had no option but to fall back from the pressure of her pushing him in the neck with the branch. When he was flat on his back, she placed her boot on his chest and rest both hands on the top of the branch, lightly pushing down on his neck.

" I didn't come down here to make friends. I want you to leave. I'm going to let up and then these wolves and I are going to escort you back to your border. If you try anything funny, I'll get you back in this position and I'll shove this branch right out through the back of your neck and I'll pry your head off. And the next time you see me coming near you, when you're in trouble, unless I say so, you run," she said  with such ease, you knew she was serious. The Demon, swallowed hard and nervously nodded. She took the branch off his neck and he scurried to his feet and ran to join the other Demons.

" Call your pack," She said and started walking towards the Demons.  

I looked back at my pack.

" Come on," I ordered.

They all came down hastily, but still looked uneasy. They formed a long line, keeping the Demons in check. I ran and cuaght up with Red.

" Thank you, so much for this. I don't know if I could have held it together," I said.

Her serious face, watching the Demons, brightened up into a friendly smile.

" It's no problem. I'm glad I could help. So tell me, How are you," She asked.

Her calm tone and smile were such a comfort and had a relaxing effect. She was making conversation to try and calm my nerves and it was working.

" I'm well, thanks. And you?" I asked

" I am very well, thank you," when she was not dealing with some serious issue, she spoke with a softness and elegance that you let you know she was a queen. Like I said. It was very hard for her to come to power. She only planned to be second in command to the king, but when the met, they fell in love and were married right away. Before that, things were not so simple. She grew up an orphan, in a very cruel orphanage in the vampire realm. When she turned 12, they threw her out, like they did to all the 12 year old's. at that age, they had to make their own way. Like amazing person she is, she got a job as a stable girl in a Nobel man home. She saved up enough money to get a room in a very poor apartment. She took in other children off the street and took care of them all, until she could find them jobs. She though herself and all the other children to read and write and progressed at it more then the rest. Besides reading and writing, she would work out a lot. So when she was a very fit 14 year old girl, she saved a duke, from being assassinated and got the job as body guard. More and more powerful people wanted her for her skill and eventually after working hard, she reached her dream of being the royal adviser, but fate had other plans. She met the king at 16 and they were sole mates. Once she took power, the vampire kingdom has never been better. She provides homes, for everyone, and everybody get free health care and education. Food is handed out to the poor and she is a famous war hero, winning every war and stamping our cruel leaders. These kingdoms, of other races, would come under her power gladly, so their empire grew. She is one of the most amazing people I have ever come across. I often remember my father calling upon her for help, when I was younger. We never spoke much, but when we did, she was always so kind. I've met her husband more often then I have met her. He would usually be the one to come and help. She would be off fighting some awful war, so whenever she did come, there was a big deal made about it. He looks to be around the same age are she, but both are centuries old. They age one year, every hundred years. As kind as she may be, her husband is even kinder. She was good, but always had an air of hostility about her, when she was in her natural state and much more terrorizing then her husband. King Arrow. He was always smiling. The room seamed brighter with him in it, but a room always feel more powerful with Red. Despite how very different they are, they are the sweetest most loving couple you will met. Just thinking about that made my mind drift to Ellieana. She was so beautiful. All I wanted to do was hold her in my arms and never let do. When she smiled at me, she reminded me of perfection. Like a doll.

" So how is school?" She asked.

" It's going very well thank you. How is your husband?" I asked her.

" Arrow if fine. He'll be here soon. I ran as I though it would be quicker then the car, but he couldn't drag himself away from it. He just loves that thing. He treats it like a toy," She told me and we both gave a gentle laugh.

We were almost at the border, when we both noticed one of the Demons, acting fidgety. It looked like he was going to try and make a break for it. If it did, and Red reputation was anything to go by, things were going to get ugly.

" Don't do it," I whispered to myself.

And with that, he shot off, but not as fast as Red. He had not gotten very far. She had given time to run, to make distance, between us and them, for when she caught him, she knew none of us wanted to see what she would do. Once there was a good bit of distance, she took off after it, and seconds later caught  it. She knocked it to the ground, and with that thud, we all looked away. The Demons, screamed, but none were stupid enough to go after her. We could all hear the it cry for help and then and plunge of the branch. It gurgled for air. Then in between the gargling and grunts from Red, came a ripping sound and the gargling became more violent. With one final grunt, the ripping and the gargling stopped. Knowing the worst part was over I looked to see if what I though was correct. She was adjusting the head onto her branch and once it was on securely, she tossed her hair out of her face and waked over to us.

" ALRIGHT, EVERYONE OVER THE BORDER," she screamed. The person who stood before me, was not the same person who was asking me about school.

All of them had scurried back into their own land. They stood facing us.

" BRING THIS BACK TO LUCIFER," She screamed tossing the stick with the head on it over to them. One picked it up.

" AND TELL HIM, THAT IF ANY OF YOUR KIND STEP BACK OVER INTO OUR LANDS AGAIN AND FAIL TO COMPLY TO OUR RULES, THEY WILL SUFFER FROM OUR PUNISHMENTS. AND WE DON'T GO EASY ON EVIL. NOW GET OUT OF MY SITE," She roared. 

With that, all the Demons turn around and start running for their lives. It was not actually her land, but we are allies, so to our enemies, it is all no go territory. By saying she had some links to this land, she was making it more dangerous for them to trespass. It was to help us. Red stood and watched them for a moment, making sure none of them turned back around. Her arms folded casually and zero expression on her face. Her mind was some where else. When they  were far enough, she gave one nod to her self, in contentment and turned back around. She started walking back towards the valley. 

" Thank you again, for all of this. I really hope I didn't pull you away from something important," I said.

" Don't worry about it. So on to some lighter news, Arrow and I are having a ball for some royal festival and we would love it if you and your pack could come," She said.

Yes, she had a gracious side to her, but when she had nothing on her mind, she could really be a very down to earth kind of person and you would forget she was royalty.

" And we would be happy be to. When is it?" I asked.

" I forget. Arrow takes care of those sort of things. You'll see him now in a second, so ask him then. He's picking me up," She said.

" I will. So are you two heading back to your castle, in your realm?" I asked.

" No, we were actually coming into this realm when we got the call. We're going to be staying with some friends, down the country. It's nice to get away every now and again," She told me.

Once we reached the valley again, we looked up to see Arrow. Everyone smiled and wove at him. He gave his famous friendly smile back and held up a brown bag, that looked as though it had come from an expensive bakery. 

" Who wants cookies?" He asked. 

My pack cheered and while some ran off to change back and get dressed, those who were still in their human form, ran to greet him. They met him with high fives and chatted with him, while waiting their turn to take a cookie from the bag. When he saw Red, his smile changed to a more comfortable one. Just watching them, as they were so use to each other, It only took a few looks back and fourth for them to get a message across. It made me think of her. I loved her so much. Before Dylan and I had to go, I was telling him about her. I have always loved her and this has really given me a chance to talk to her. Dylan and I spoke about her regularly. It is clear she is my mate. When she turned around and smiled at me, it was like a dream come true. I had the reputation of being a player, Going out with lots of girls, but I was trying to build up confidence to talk to her. Every morning when I wake up all I can see is her and how radiant she is. 

" Alright kiddo, go stay with Arrow. Keep your pack away from here," Said Red snapping me out of my day dream. 

" What? Why?" I asked. 

Her face turned apologetic, and she loked up at me. She looked back over her shoulder at the altar, made by the demons.

" Most of those animals are still alive and in a lot of pain. I'm use to this kind of thing, but I cant imagine, you or your pack would like to witness what I have to do," She told me softly and I got what she ment.

" Oh, OK," I said.

" Thank you," She said.

Her lip curled back over her teeth and only then to you notice how long her fnags are. She turned around and began to walk towards the altar. I ran up the side of the valley and joined the rest.

" Hello Brison. How are you. I haven't seen to in a long time," Said, Arrow. Any sickness I felt in my stomch from knowing what Red had to do, vanished. He was so friendly.

" I'm good thanks," I answered.

I was about to continue the conversation, when loud shrieks of pain and fear, erupted once again, from the valley. Arrow knowing exactly what was happening, quickly stopped anyone from going to the edge of the valley.

" Ok, can everyone, please stay back here. You do not want to see this," He told everyone.

Shocked, everyone, started to slowly move back.

" Come on, faster," I ordered and they began to pick up speed. All the nerve returned and it was hard to keep my cool, but I did. I was frozen to the spot, looking at the edge of the valley, knowing what was happening. Then I felt and arm around my shoulder. I looked to see Arrow.

" Come on man. Just put it out of your head. It's for the best," he said and we turned around and walked away from the cries of help.

We all stood around, with our heads hanging. I could not blame my pack. They had to deal with a lot today. We usually have maybe 6 or 7 demons, but today, there was about 20. It was hard hearing those poor animals, but we knew it had to be done. Both Arrow and I kept brave faces, so to help the pack. After a moment, the cries stopped. I was a moment of silence, to remember, those poor little creatures. Being wolves, we have a very strong connection with nature, so this is pure torture for us to have to try and endure. It was awkward, as no one was talking and no one knew what to do next. Then Red calmly walks up to us, With a small dribble of blood, rolling down her lip. Arrow pointed to it and she quickly wiped it away. She stood over next to him and they both folded their arms and leaned against the car. At that moment I realized, what an awful thing it was she had to do. I think the rest of the pack, though the same as they all looked to her with admiration. We had heard of her greatness, but this was the first day we had really seen it. Not one person would ever want to kill poor animals, or have to look at that scene for that long either, so the fact that, she did it with out hesitation was amazingly strong.

" We should stay with them for a while, just to calm them down and make sure they're ok," Said Arrow.

She nodded in agreement. It was crazy to think, she was the one, with the hard job and yet here she was consoling us. They looked up at us. 

" Why don't you all sit down and catch your breath. That was some day you had," Said Arrow, standing away from the car. 

Once the pack were seated, I stood next to him. 

" Both Red and I know, that was hard for you, but fighting things like demons is going to be hard. That was you're wolves. You all have a fire inside of you, that if you can harness, you can learn to deal with this kind of thing," He said. 

Selena, a member of my pack, opened her eyes and asked. 

" What about Red. You had to......do......that awful job," She said in concern. 

At that moment all eyes were on her, but out of all of all the eyes, she only looked at Arrow. Both of them had an amused smile on their faces, like they  were sharing a private joke. She licked her teeth and stood forward next to her husband. 

" That kind of thing dosen't bother me. Don't sweat it honey," She said, with a cool smile and wink. 

Selena smiled up at her. 

" What's it like being a queen?" She asked. 

I was glad she asked that, maybe a relaxed conversation was what we all needed. 

" Lots of work. But we have fun. Speaking of fun, Honey, did Brison ask you about our ball?" She said. 

" No. Why? What did you want to know?" He asked. 

" Oh, em. I just wanted to know when it's on,"

 " It is on exactly this date next month. So the 3rd of October. I'm guessing you and your pack are coming?" He said.

" We'd love to," I answered.

That made the packs eyes light up. They all began to chat between themselves about it. I smiled. I was glad to see them calming down. Arrow had started chatting with Dylan when Red came over and stood next to me, playing with the red ribbon on her wrist. We both looked on smiling at the happy scene in front of us.

" So, have a girlfriend yet?" She asked.

I blushed. That made her smile.

" What's her name," She asked.

" Oh I don't have a girl friend, But I think I've found my mate," I told her.

Her face light up with excitment.

" This is fantastic. What's  she like?" She asked.

I let out a huff of air and rubbed the back of my head. Just thinking about her made me nervous.

" Just.......amazing. She is quite easily my everything. I can't get her our of my head. She's like a straight A student and head cheerleader. I've actually been paired up with her for a project. So I'm really looking forward to that," I told her.

" Oh Brison, I'm so happy to hear that. Oh just look at you. Why I remember when you were just a small boy and now look at you. All grown up and have found your mate all ready. I'm really happy for you," she said with a real smile.

" Can I ask you for advice?" I asked.

" Of course," She shrugged.

" How do I do.......it. How do I be a proper boyfriend?" I asked.

She stopped for a moment and gave it some real though.

" Be romantic. Don't get all nervous around her, act like you wouldn't want to be anywhere else then with her. Be spontaneous. Surprise her. Most importantly, respect her. Don't tease her with other girls. Never cheat. That's just.....not on. Be loyal. And be your self. If you ever want her to love you, then let her love you, the real you, don't cover anything up. She is a wolf, isn't she," She told me.

" Em.......no. She's human. I know the Demons won't like that," I confessed.

" Oh screw them. If they have any complaints send them to me. No it just means that you'll have to break it to her gently. Don't let those freaks get in your way," she told me.

There was a moment of silence and then I asked.

" So are you and Arrow romantic?"

" God no. We're just an old married couple. We've long forgotten what romance is like. Besides, I don't like romance anyway, But buy the sounds of it, your girl will like it" She said.

" You think?" I asked.

" Oh yeah. Cheerleaders dig that kind of thing,"  

Arrows phone beeped and he opened it up. He read what ever was on the screen and then looked up at Red.

" It's our hosts. they're worried about what's keeping us," He said.

" Right, we'll have to make a move. Well it's been lovely seeing you all again and I'm looking forward to seeing you again at the ball. Bye," she said.

" Later guys and if you need us, you have my number," said Arrow as they made their way back to the car.

He got in the drivers eat and she got in beside him. We all wove at them and began getting back into our own cars. They were pulling out, when Red looked out the window at me.

" Pick her up with a motor bike or something like that. She'll love it," She told.

" Thanks," I said waving at her.

She gave a quick wave and rolled back up the tinted window to their sleek black BMW. With that, the car took off like a bullet. Dust flew into the air from the wheels and it zoomed down the road and off around the bend. Soon enough the sound of it silenced. It was then I realized that we had all just been in the company of Red and Arrow in all their glory and as soon as they were here, they were gone again. I got into the passenger seat next to Dylan. I rolled down the window and shouted out.

" Ok every one, back to my house, we need to have a talk about these demons. We weren't ready for today and that can't happen again," I said and rolled back up the window.

Dylan and I did not talk all the way home and it was only when I was pulling into the drive way did I give it some though.

"  Pick her up with a motor bike. I like it,"
