The car ride wasn't that long, but it seemed like an infinity because we wanted to get to the campsite.
We started talking. A lot. And giggling. Meghan's younger brother Alex said we were running on full "giggle power." He said, "You guys have to giggle every five seconds or else you'll die." That just made us giggle more. "I'm running on freckle power. I get my energy from my freckles," he said. "I don't have freckles," I said, "Does that mean I'm gonna die sooner?" More giggling.
We were hungry. "Is there any fast food?" asked Meghan. "No, the closest fast food was 25 miles back," he said. Then all of the sudden Alex yelled, "Look, there's a Subway!"
We looked out our right window to see what looked like a gas station that sold sandwiches. Meghan's dad pulled into the gas station/restaurant. We went in.
The sandwiches were actually pretty good(we got Marinara meatball sandwiches) In fact, they were delicious. They were having a Valentine's Day special, a dozen cookies for $6, and Meghan's dad bought us some.
We each ate two cookies, and then they were gone. We got bored, so we started to sing. And before we knew it, we were there.
