Day 1: June 29 (Monday)
~ Luigi's POV ~
"Wake up, Weegee!" My brother, Mario shakes me awake. I glance at the clock and then glare at Mario.
"Why did you wake me up at 6:30 in the morning?" I groan, slowly getting off my bed.
"Because we have to be at the bus stop by 7," Mario states.
I notice he's not wearing his pajamas anymore and his hair is wet. That must mean he already took a shower. I don't understand why he wakes up so early.
"Okay, I'm up," I stand up and stretch my arms. Then, I walk past my twin brother and into the bathroom we share. As I shower, I try to remember why I'm even going to this stupid summer camp.
Oh, right. Because of Mario. He wanted to go to Camp Tanooki so badly. Our parents eventually gave in to Mario's begging and told him he could go... As long as I went with him. So, now I'm stuck going to some pointless camp with my extrovert of a brother.
I, on the other hand, am an introvert. I'm shy and quite antisocial, which is why I'm dreading going to Camp Tanooki. I'd rather stay at home where I most likely won't have to meet any new people. I don't see why my parents want me to go to the camp with Mario. It's not like he'll be alone there. His personality will get him lots of friends.
Mario always tells me he wants to go to Camp Tanooki to have lots of cool, new experiences. He also tells me he wants to make new friends.
However, I know another reason why Mario wants to go and he hasn't mentioned this reason to me yet... He wants to meet new girls. Mario is rather girl-crazy. He's probably gonna flirt with the "pretty girls" at Camp Tanooki. I really don't understand my brother sometimes. It's hard to believe that he's five minutes older than me.
Anyways, back to Camp Tanooki. There's one thing I know for sure about it- I'll hate it there.
~ Daisy's POV ~
"Did you pack extra shirts?" Mom questions as I eat my breakfast.
"Yes," I reply.
"Daisy, don't talk when there's food in your mouth," Mom sighs. "Did you pack sunscreen?"
"Yeah," I say after swallowing a bite of cereal.
"How about extra underwear?" Mom asks.
"Mom!" I groan, exasperated. "Yes, I did. And you already checked my stuff yesterday, remember?"
"Sorry, I forgot about that," Mom chuckles. Soon, I finish my breakfast and stand up.
"I'll miss you," I hug Mom, knowing I won't see her for eight weeks.
"I'll miss you even more," Mom gives me a sad smile. "I hope you have fun. And call me every week, okay?"
"I will," I promise.
"Well, Peach is here already. You two are walking to the bus stop together," Mom informs me.
"Okay. Bye, Mom," I kiss her on the cheek and then, I go upstairs to get my things. I can't believe I have to walk to the bus stop with Peach.
Peach is my cousin, our moms are sisters. Peach is fifteen and she's about six months older than me. I really don't like her and she doesn't like me either.
Peach is a goody-two-shoes kind of girl. All of the adults she meets love her. She's very ladylike and girly. Plus, Peach gets really good grades at school and gets countless awards for her academic excellence and behavior. And in addition to all of that, she gets showers of compliments about how pretty she is. Practically everyone that meets Peach thinks she's perfect, except for me obviously.
I know what you're thinking, and you're wrong- I'm not jealous of my cousin at all. I'm just saying we're almost complete opposites. Peach gets annoyed by me as much as I get annoyed by her. However our moms are very close as sisters, so they expect us to be very close as cousins. Well my mom does, anyways. Peach and I pretend to tolerate each other when any of our relatives are nearby.
I should really stop thinking about Peach. Well I'm kind of looking forward to going to Camp Tanooki, even though the only reason Mom's letting me go there is so I can "keep Peach company". I want to try out the cool activities and sports. And I hope to make new friends. If I befriend at least a few people, I might get distracted from Peach! Plus, I hope Peach and I end up in different cabins.
Well, I'm about to go outside and start walking with Peach. Wish me luck.
~ Yoshi's POV ~
I'm so excited to go to Camp Tanooki! But, the bus trip on the way there has to be awesome as well! That's why I'm currently getting everything I can from my pantry and tossing them into my bags. It's okay. I won't get in trouble, since my parents aren't at home. And they told me I could take ALL THE FOOD I WANT.
The reason I'm going to Camp Tanooki is because my parents are both on business trips for a month or so. My mom left last week and my dad left yesterday. They signed me up for Camp Tanooki because they thought it would be a good way for me to pass time. I agree with them. I'll get to make lots of new friends and do really cool stuff! This summer will be one to remember.
Finally, I'm done getting food and I check what's in my bags one last time. Swimming trunks? Check. Nature books and field journal? Check. Huffin' Puffin plushie for napping? I certainly can't forget that. I'm ready for the best summer ever!
~ Toadette's POV ~
"Come on, Toadette!" My twin brother, Toad repeatedly knocks on the bathroom door. "I have to use the bathroom too, you know!"
"Jeez, can't you be patient?" I reply as I brush my long, chocolate brown hair. "I'm almost done!"
"Fine, be done in five minutes or else I'll break the door open," Toad states and walks away. I laugh to myself. Like Toad breaking the door will ever happen.
I put my hair in two braids, then walk out.
"Girls..." Toad mutters, shaking his head and walking into the bathroom.
Toad is three minutes older than me and he likes to rub it in my face. We argue a lot, but we don't genuinely hate each other. It's just a sibling thing to bicker a lot, you know?
Toad and I... I guess you could say we complement each other in a way. Toad is friends with everyone and a total athlete. I, on the other hand, am considered a dork by practically everyone our age. I'm your typical nerd I suppose, with my straight A's, reading glasses, and what not. Most of the people at our school don't want to befriend me because they think I don't know how to have fun.
Mom and Dad signed both Toad and I up for Camp Tanooki and Toad is no doubt excited about it. I'm happy for him. He'll have so much fun and he'll surely make friends to add to the large amount he already has.
However, I have mixed feelings about going to this summer camp. I know it's an opportunity for me to make friends, since everyone will be divided into different cabins and that makes me hopeful. I'm also a little nervous. What if no one wants to be my friend just like at school? What if I don't see my brother much? What if-
"Toadette!" Toad hits my face with one of my braids. "We're going downstairs now? Hello?"
"Oh, sorry," I say, picking up my bags. "Let's go."
You now have the right to call me an overthinker.
~ Birdo's POV ~
I smile at my reflection in the mirror. I look fabulous. I'll make such a pretty first impression and that's one of the things I need to do in order to get friends.
I just moved to the Mushroom Kingdom a month ago, and my parents thought it would be a good idea for me to go to Camp Tanooki so I could make my first friends here! I agree, it's a great idea and I'm excited to go. I don't even care that there won't be any WiFi and gadgets aren't allowed. I just want to make friends. And I know for sure that just sitting around, looking at your phone, and not talking to anyone is considered antisocial. And antisocial is something that I definitely don't want to be at Camp Tanooki.
I apply some lip tint and continue to practice smiling. Yup, I'll surely get friends. Well, I hope so anyway.
~ Rosalina's POV ~
"Eleven... Twelve... Perfect!" I grin. All of my books are organized in one of my bags and I'm not forgetting anything.
If no one will keep me company, then my books will. I'm not nervous about going to Camp Tanooki because of the activities. I'm nervous because of the other campers. You see, I've been homeschooled my whole life and I don't really know anyone my age. I only know how to interact with people way younger than me and way older than me. But, being with people my age is practically a foreign language to me. I'll probably keep saying things I'm not supposed to say. Dad sees the panic in my eyes and puts his hands on my shoulders.
"Don't worry, Rosie. I'm sure you'll make some friends," he assures me.
"I hope I do," I murmur.
"Well, the bus will arrive in a few minutes," Dad says. "You should go now or else you'll be late."
"I'll miss you, Dad," I hug my only living parent. "Love you."
"Bye, Rosalina," Dad replies. "I love you, too. Have fun, but please try not to get yourself into trouble." He gives me my bags.
"I'll try," I give my dad one last smile before heading out the front door.
Camp Tanooki, here I come.
~ Bowser's POV ~
"I wish you didn't sign me up for this thing," I grumble at the breakfast table.
"You will thank me after the eight weeks are over," Dad tells me. I doubt it.
I don't understand why Dad wants me to go to Camp Tanooki. Even the name sounds ridiculous. Dad said he wanted me to have an "awesome summer camp experience" or something like that. Well, I think the experience will be a waste of time! There are many other ways to have a great summer! Too bad Dad can't see that.
If I won't have a good time at Camp Tanooki, I'll make sure no one else will either. Therefore, there will be no more "happy campers" in the camp and people will eventually stop signing up for it. I'm so smart, aren't I?
"I'm done eating," I stand up, carrying my bags.
"Bye, Bowser," Dad gives me a one-armed hug. "Have fun!"
Oh Dad, that is something no one at Camp Tanooki will do this year.
~ Wario's POV ~
"I'm... Too... Lazy..." I groan, putting a pillow over my head.
"You wanted to go to Camp Tanooki, so you have to get used to waking up early," My younger twin, Waluigi states.
"Wrong. YOU wanted to go to this camp, you just were scared to go alone," I correct.
"No..." I see my tall, skinny brother turn slightly red in his face. "I was NOT scared."
"Whatever, you still wanted me to come with you so that you wouldn't be a loner," I reply. "Well, what if we don't end up in the same cabin? Huh?"
"Shut up!" Wauigi snaps. "I'm capable of making my own friends. And by the way, you have to shower now or else we'll be late."
"Let us be late," I mutter, about to fall asleep.
"Would you rather have an awesome stress-free time at Camp Tanooki or be stuck at home and grounded for the whole summer?" Waluigi questions.
"Fine! I'm going!" I say, standing up. I walk to the bathroom and when I'm there, I immediately take a cold shower to completely wake me up.
What I said earlier was true- Waluigi wanted to go, but he wanted me to go with him. My parents were on his side and told me that if I didn't go to Camp Tanooki, I'd be grounded for the whole summer. Talk about injustice.
Well, I learned a little bit about Camp Tanooki and it seems good enough. Maybe if I do enough activities, I'll get the fit, muscular body I've always wanted. I also hope that my cabinmates are cool to be around.
Now, Waluigi's knocking on the bathroom door and yelling at me to hurry up. He's just too impatient, isn't he?
~ Donkey Kong's POV ~
"Are you nervous?" My fourteen-year-old brother, DIddy asks me.
"A little bit," I admit. Diddy glances at me.
"Why?" he tilts his head.
"What if I'm not good at the new stuff they'll make us do?" I say.
"DK," Diddy sighs. "We've already talked about this. You're one of the most athletic and strongest people I know. Camp Tanooki was made for people like you, so I know you'll do well there, if not the best. And because of that, you'll get lots of friends."
"How do you know?" I raise an eyebrow.
"The ones who are the best at whatever the program is about always get the friends, right?" Diddy replies. "It's natural."
"I guess I have nothing to worry about," I murmur.
I really don't know whether I'm nervous or excited about going to Camp Tanooki. Possibly both. I want to try new things, I'm adventurous like that. But if I'm not good at the new things, I'll make a fool of myself. And I'm not a fool... I think.
If you want me to describe Diddy in one word, I'll say he's an optimist. I hardly see him sad. And Diddy is always trying to make everyone happy. I don't mean impressing them. I mean comforting them. Diddy doesn't have to try, though. His presence already makes everyone around him happy. Diddy's a cool guy.
"DK come on, we're leaving now," Diddy tells me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Okay," I reply.
I make a decision- if I'm going to be nervous on the inside, I should be confident on the outside.
~ Tiny Kong's POV ~
"I'm so excited!" I squeal.
"Sheesh, I hope I'm not stuck in the same cabin as you," my sister, Dixie mutters. I frown.
Dixie is ten minutes older than me, but she acts as if she's ten years older than me. She constantly gets annoyed with me and is always calling me immature. Dixie also always tells me to "grow up".
Just because my sister hates me doesn't mean I hate her. I always try to be nice to her and she just makes snide remarks at me in return. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I think Dixie's in a sour mood because she doesn't want to go to Camp Tanooki. On the other hand, I do. So, when Mom and Dad told us that they signed us up, I was happy... Dixie wasn't. Well, what was she going to do if she wasn't signed up for summer camp? Take naps all day and text her friends nonstop?
After saying bye to our parents, Dixie and I step outside.
"I hate Camp Tanooki already," Dixie says.
It's okay, Dixie. I can be excited for both of us.
~ Dry Bones's POV ~
"So, I just come by your house and all three of us walk to the bus stop together?" My best friend, Boo asks me over the phone. By three, he means himself, my younger brother Koopa, and me.
"Yep," I reply. "Now say goodbye to your phone."
"After you," Boo says. I hang up on him, then toss my phone to Mom. Even though phones are allowed at the summer camp I'm going to, my mom wants to keep both my and Koopa's phones while we're away. She wants us to socialize, I guess.
"You didn't have to throw it at me, you know," Mom frowns.
"Whatever," I shrug. "At least you caught it." I sit down at the table to eat breakfast.
"Are you excited, Bones?" Koopa asks me.
"I guess," I answer monotonously.
Koopa's a year and a half younger than me. But, we look completely different. Koopa has honey-blonde hair, while I have dark brown hair. We also have other physical differences and hardly anyone can tell we're brothers. I guess that's a good thing... Sometimes.
Mom always says that Koopa's personality is as sunny as his hair. Am I the only one that finds that phrase really weird? Well, I think I know what she means anyway. Koopa is really optimistic and enthusiastic. At times, his cheerful mood annoys me. Maybe because I'm pretty much the opposite.
People say I'm "dull". And perhaps I am. I just don't get enthusiastic about things that I think aren't worth getting enthusiastic about. Problem? Fine, you can hate me if you want. Lots of people don't like me, so Boo is basically my only friend.
Boo's just like me in a way. Some people call him "emo". I guess Boo's jet-black hair radiates emo vibes or something. But, you'll only think that if you stereotype him. Boo's quiet with everyone except me. We get along because we're both outcasts.
Mom and Dad signed Koopa and I up for Camp Tanooki because they want us to bond, I think. When Boo found out, he signed up as well. I'm glad he did.
"Boo will be here soon," Mom informs my brother and me.
So, I'm going to Camp Tanooki with my "sunny" brother and "emo" best friend. This is bound to be interesting.
~ Pauline's POV ~
"I can't believe I have to leave my phone behind," I groan. "Why do you have to take it away from me?
"I already told you, I don't want you on your phone the whole time. But, don't fret so much. Time will go by so fast and before you know it, your time at Camp Tanooki will be up," Mom assures me. I hope she's right.
I was okay with the idea of going to Camp Tanooki until I found out I wouldn't have my phone with me. That totally sucks! I hope the camp is fun enough to make me forget about the temporary lack of my phone.
I hope there'll be cute guys at the camp! I can have the summer relationship every girl is dying to have! Whoa, wait... I'm only fifteen. And you're saying I'm too young to be thinking about summer love? Hey, a girl can dream right?
My Camp Tanooki experience will most likely be bittersweet. But, anything can happen. What I'm wondering is, will the "anything" be good?
~ Mona's POV ~
"Bye, Mom," I say as I pick up my bags and am about to head out the door.
"Bye, Mona," Mom smiles, kissing my forehead. "Please try not to get in trouble there, okay?
"I'll try, but no promises," I reply honestly.
"Seriously, Mona," Mom says. "It's a privilege for you to be able to go to Camp Tanooki. Please be safe for me."
"Okay, Mom," I sigh.
"Thank you," Mom says. "Now, go on. You might miss the bus." I wave at my mom one last time, then rush out the door.
Most of the people I know call me a rebel. I don't know if rebellious is the word to describe me, I just don't follow rules that I think are pointless.
I'm also quite adventurous. That's why I wanted my parents to let me go to Camp Tanooki. I want to do all of the awesome activities there. Luckily, Mom and Dad allowed me the first time I asked. Apparently, it's a reward for not getting suspended from school more than twice last year. Being suspended even once is bad for you goody-two-shoes, but it's normal for me.
Soon, I arrive at the bus stop and there are probably about twenty other teens there. I'm guessing they're also going to Camp Tanooki. And just two minutes later, the bus comes around. How do I know it's the right bus? It says "Camp Tanooki" on either side of the bus. DUH.
I get on the bus before anyone else can and head to the very back, where I sit down. From here, I notice the other people searching for seats, some of them sit together. No one sits beside me.
I was about to enjoy a two-hour-long bus ride by myself until a girl approaches me.
"Can I sit here?" the girl asks.
I look her up and down. The girl has orange hair and blue eyes, and she isn't tall nor short. She's wearing a yellow shirt, white shorts, and orange running shoes.
"Fine," I say.
"Thank you," the girl smiles, sitting down. "My name's Daisy. What's yours?"
"Mona," I state.
"What a pretty name," Daisy compliments. She and I chat during the entire bus ride.
Two hours pass by quickly and we arrive at the location of Camp Tanooki. Several people come to take our bags and I don't hand mine over right away.
"Where are you taking the bags?" I question.
"To the cabins," one of them says. "You'll see them again when you go to your assigned cabin."
"But for now, follow that girl over there," someone else points to a girl a few feet away.
"Okay..." I reply and turn around after giving the people my bags. I join the crowd of campers as they walk towards the girl that was pointed out to me.
"Hello, everyone!" The girl calls out. "I'm Megan. I'm one of the six counselors. Please follow me! We are going to have our first activity. The walk won't be very long, it will last for about ten minutes."
We all begin walking behind her as she leads us through a really pretty trail. I wonder what awaits all of us in this summer camp.
*ten minutes later*
~ Luigi's POV ~
We arrive at a forest clearing.
"Sit down in a circle," Megan says. Since Mario already made friends on the bus, he sits with them. Yoshi plops down on the ground on my left shortly after I sit down.
"Hi again, Luigi!" Yoshi grins.
"Hey," I mumble.
*flashback*
I'm sitting alone, but it's okay. As long as no one talks to me, I'm fine. I've been on this bus for an hour and no one has spoken to me yet.
But suddenly, I smell... Oatmeal butter cookies?! My stomach reacts to the strong scent by growling. I'm addicted to oatmeal butter cookies, so it sucks that I forgot to bring some with me. I look to my left. One of the boys sitting across from me has a huge bag of oatmeal butter cookies!
The owner of the cookies has messy raven-black hair and lots of freckles across his face. He looks like he's about fourteen years old, a year younger than me. He's wearing brown hiking boots and a sea-green hoodie. The guy is also wearing what looks like a leather cord, but I can't see the pendant it's attached to. He is sitting next to someone who's wearing a red shirt and has chestnut-brown hair. And he seems to be enjoying his cookies!
The guy notices me looking at the oatmeal butter cookies and smiles at me.
"Want some?" he asks.
"S-sure," I stutter. "Thanks."
"No problem," the guy drops the ENTIRE BAG OF COOKIES onto my lap. "Take as much as you want." Thanks to my self-control, I only take a handful.
"My name's Yoshi," Yoshi says. "What's your name?"
"Luigi," I reply.
*flashback over*
"Okay everyone, each of you will say your name or nickname and something about yourself," Megan says and points to someone on my right. "Let's start with you and go counterclockwise." Yes! I'll be last!
The first person is a tall, skinny boy with chestnut-brown hair. He's wearing a purple hoodie with black shorts.
"My name is Waluigi," Waluigi says. "And I'm not bad with the ladies." I see two girls pretending to gag.
The next person is also tall and he looks like the kind of person who works out every morning. He also has chestnut-brown hair and it kind of stands up at the front.
"I'm DK," DK waves. "My favorite fruit is bananas."
The next person is a short girl who has her chocolate-brown hair in two braids. She's wearing a light pink shirt with hot pink shorts.
"I'm Toadette," Toadette smiles. "And I like watching DIY tutorials on StarTube!"
The next person has similar facial features to Toadette, as if they are related. He and Toadette are about the same height and he has auburn hair.
"I'm Toad," Toad grins. "I love playing sports!"
Mario is next. He gives me a quick wave before introducing himself to the group.
"My name is Mario," Mario says. "And my favorite cuisine is Italian." Both Mario and I absolutely love Italian food.
The next person has light blonde hair and it covers one of her eyes. She looks kind of tall and is wearing a pale blue shirt and grey sweats.
"I'm Rosalina," Rosalina's voice is calm and somewhat quiet. "My favorite hobby is reading."
The next person has wavy, chocolate-brown hair that is dyed purple at the ends. Her outfit is mostly purple and pink and she has a red bow in her hair.
"I'm Birdo!" Birdo smiles as if she has practiced. "And I'm really, REALLY obsessed with hair bows!"
The next person is a girl with long, golden-blonde hair that's in a high ponytail. Her pink and girly outfit already says a lot about her.
"My name is Peach," Peach smiles and waves. "Last school year, I won awards for Conduct, Leadership, Math, Science, History, and Highest Average!" What a show-off. I look at the other campers and all of them seem either impressed or annoyed. A girl right next to Peach is scowling in disgust. Yoshi is impressed until he realizes that Peach named SIX awards.
The next person has big blue eyes and orange hair that falls past her shoulders. She looks slightly shorter than Peach.
"I'm Daisy," Daisy sounds as if she's still a bit annoyed by Peach. "I love nature." Daisy can't help but smile when she says that and I can't help but think she's cute when she smiles.
The next person is rather overweight and has chestnut-brown hair. He looks as if he'll fall asleep any minute.
"I'm Wario," Wario says with a bored tone in his voice. "I can't decide which is better- food or sleep."
The next person is tall and slightly muscular. He has red hair and is wearing a black shirt.
"I'm Bowser," Bowser mutters. "And NO ONE wants to mess with me." Whoa. Looks like we all know who will be the bully at this camp.
The next person has honey-blonde hair and is wearing jeans and a green shirt. He looks small compared to Bowser, but who doesn't?
"My name is Koopa," Koopa says. "I love not being bored!"
The next person has her curly, golden-blonde hair in pigtails. She's wearing a sky blue shirt and jean shorts.
"My name is Tiny," Tiny grins. "I take photography classes!" Photography classes? That sounds kinda cool.
The next person is the guy who was sitting with Yoshi on the bus. I notice that he's quite short and skinny.
"I'm Diddy," Diddy waves. "I like it when everyone is in a good mood."
The next person is a girl that has long, chocolate-brown hair. She's wearing a red tank top that's tucked into white shorts.
"I'm Pauline," Pauline waves. "I'm a fashion guru."
The next person has ginger hair and blue eyes. She's wearing a white hoodie and a pair of jeans.
"I'm Mona," Mona says. "And I'm not really a girly girl."
The next person has her golden-blonde hair in a straight ponytail. She looks similar to Tiny and I wonder if the two girls are related.
"I'm Dixie," Dixie looks pissed off for some reason. "My favorite social network is Shellstagram."
The next person has dark brown hair and is rather skinny. He's wearing a grey shirt and is holding a pair of sunglasses in one hand.
"My name is Bones," Bones mutters. "I like it when it's quiet and peaceful."
The next person is a tall, guy with jet-black hair. He and Bones seem like they're already friends.
"I'm Boo," Boo says quietly. "And I like the darkness."
Yoshi is next. I become slightly nervous, knowing I have to introduce myself in about twenty seconds.
"I'm Yoshi!" Yoshi grins. "I love food!" If I weren't so damn nervous, I'd chuckle a little bit.
But, it's now my turn. My heart feels like it's beating ten times faster.
"I'm L-luigi," I stutter. "And my f-favorite color is green." I quietly sigh in relief once I sit down again.
"Now that you all know each other at least a little bit, we will divide all of you into six groups. Each group will have a counselor," Megan states. "The Cabin A members are Bowser, DK, Mario, and Waluigi. The Cabin B members are Daisy, Peach, and Toadette. The Cabin C members are Bones, Boo, Toad, and Wario. The Cabin D members are Pauline, Rosalina, and Tiny. The Cabin E members are Diddy, Koopa, Luigi, and Yoshi. The Cabin F members are Birdo, Dixie, and Mona. Please go to your respective counselors."
"If you are part of Cabin E, come here!" I hear someone call. I turn around and see a guy who is wearing a black shirt with an "E" on it. Assuming that's my counselor, I go to him.
"Oh hi, Luigi!" He smiles at me. I'm confused as to how he knows my name, then figure that he was probably around when I introduced myself.
"Are you the Cabin E counselor?" Koopa questions, running here.
"Yep!" my counselor says. Soon, Diddy and Yoshi join us.
"Hello!" Yoshi says to everyone in the group.
"My name is Adam," Adam informs us. "And now, I'll lead you to your cabin." We walk down a trail for about fifteen minutes before we see a large-looking cabin with an "E" on the door. Adam opens the door and my cabinmates and I take a look around the place we'll be living in for eight weeks.
There are two bunkbeds on one wall. On another wall, there is a door to the bathroom. There are also a couch and two desks. There is a giant, circular rug in the middle of the cabin. The cabin also has a ceiling fan and two electric fans. In addition to all of that, there are lots of drawers and shelves, big and small. There are also other things! Plus, our bags are lined up against the back wall.
Diddy, Koopa, Yoshi, and I all stare at our cabin in awe.
"You like it?" Adam questions, although the answer is obviously yes.
"This. Is. AMAZING!" Yoshi gasps, climbing a ladder to take a peek at one of the top bunks.
"I'm glad you like it. Well, I'l just stay here with you for the rest of the day, so I can get to know you all," Adam says. I check the time on a clock. It's 9:30.
Soon, my cabinmates and I are finished unpacking. Diddy, Koopa, and Yoshi sit on the rug with Adam and talk about pretty much anything they can think of.
I'm so happy, but so tired. I fall asleep on a bottom bunk, despite my cabinmates and Adam's talking and laughing.
Yay! The first chapter is out! What do you all think of it? It is over 5,300 words long, and it's definitely my longest chapter so far. I promise that the other chapters won't be this long. I just wanted to give you an idea of what each main character is like. I'm publishing the next chapter very soon. And btw I've been keeping this idea a secret for nearly a year. Well I hope this book will be a successful one. It is certainly very different from the Mario games and even most of the Mario fanfics... Anyways please add, comment, vote, etc. Thanks!
