Cabin Rabbit

You were filled with both excitement and nervousness. You were really here. You had been looking forward to this experience for months and now that you were finally standing here, watching everyone and everything. You couldn't believe it.

As you stood at the registration tables, taking in the lively atmosphere around you, you couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed.

You watched as your new friend Kirishima, who you had just met a few minutes ago, grouped up with his friends from last year and they all laughed together.

You felt a pang of envy, wishing you had your own group of friends to share this experience with. But you quickly pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the present. After all, you were here to have fun and make new friends, which would be hard to do with your history.

Just then, the name of your cabin was yelled out, "Camp Rabbit! Is anyone else in Rabbits?"

You turned to see a group of girls and a girl counselor standing there. They all stood there with their heavy bags as they searched for another person.

You made your way towards them, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. You weren't sure what to expect from your cabin mates and the counselor, but you were willing to give it a shot. This was supposed to be a new summer and a new you.

As you approached the group, the counselor, greeted you with a warm smile.

"Hi there, welcome to Camp Rabbit!" she said cheerfully. "What's your name?"

"I'm Y/n...Y/n L/n," you replied nervously, feeling a bit self-conscious under her scrutinizing gaze.

"Well, Y/n, we're so glad to have you in our cabin!" She exclaimed, her enthusiasm contagious. "I'm Midnight and I'll be your counselor for the summer."

You sheepishly smiled as you looked behind her, the girls behind Midnight seemed to take you in, as if they were examining you.

One of the girls seemed like a bright, bubbly and cheerful girl with a contagious smile that had a head full of vibrant pink hair, as well as her skin being a shade of pink also.

Another was a beautiful girl with long, luscious black hair that was put up into a ponytail.

The third had a round face with big, brown eyes with her brown hair at shoulder-length. However, her most distinctive feature was her large, pink cheeks.

Midnight clapped her hands together, making you jump back from surprise. "Let's get to that cabin, huh?" Midnight asked.

Everyone agreed and started to pick up your bags, you awkwardly waited as everyone struggled to pick their things up.

Midnight helped some of the girls pick up their things, "let's go, girls, today will be the best first day," Midnight said as she led the way.

You looked back to see Kirishima in his own group, their counselor leading the way to their cabins.

Midnight led the way beside the mess hall, showing a trail that led straight to the rabbit cabin.

You could feel the warmth of the sun on your skin as you walked along the trail with your counselor, Midnight, and the three other girls.

You wiped away the sweat that collected on your head, dragging your bag behind you in exhaustion.

You were on our way to the cabin, which was nestled deep in the woods. The cabins were mostly close together but the center of the camp was farther away, must've been due to privacy reasons.

It should've been known that the camp was going to be surrounded by trees, in fact these trees were tall and thick and the air was filled with the sweet scent of pine and the sound of chirping birds.

As the five of you walked, Midnight pointed out different plants and animals, teaching you about the local wildlife.

You could see she was an enthusiastic counselor, with a passion for nature and a love for the outdoors.

And you could tell that she was excited to share her knowledge with you and the other girls, and you were eager to learn more about this beautiful place.

The trail was narrow, and you had to walk in a single file. You were in the middle, with Midnight leading the way and the other girls following behind you.

They were all chatting and laughing, getting to know each other and becoming fast friends.

You were a a little nervous about making friends and the girls worsened that fear. You would have cabin mates that never spoke to you, that made your stomach turn.

"Hey," a voice said.

You blinked back to life, turning your head to see a smiling girl staring straight back at you. It was the girl with the pink hair and skin. You stuttered before you responded, "uh..hi."

"Are you new?" Another girl said, this time it was the girl with the gorgeous, black hair.

The girl with the pink haired girl scoffed at the black haired girl and said, "Momo, let's just get to know the girl first."

"What's your name?" The brown haired girl asked.

You gulped down your saliva, already feeling hot but not by the heat. "I'm Y/n, how about you guys?"

The pink haired girl smiled at you and said, "Hi Y/n, I'm Mina."

"That's such a pretty name. Anyway, I'm Momo Yaoyorozu," Momo added.

You blushed at the comment, you were already hoping you would become best friends with these girls, Mina and Momo looked and acted so cool.

The girl at the end of the line stuck her head out to show her full face, you gave her a small smile as she continued the introductions.

"I'm Uraraka."

"I can't wait to get to the cabins," Mina squealed excitedly.

Momo then pulled her suitcase along the path, it got stuck for a moment and Uraraka had to help her push it out of the hole. "I can't wait for the shower," Momo muttered under her breath, wiping a bead of sweat away from her face.

As you continued your journey, the trail started to get steeper, and the trees grew denser. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a dappled shade on the forest floor. The air became cooler, and you could feel a slight breeze on your face.

Midnight had told you it gets a bit more forestry around here due to not many trees being cut around here.

The walk was long and tiring but you couldn't help but feel grateful to be in such a beautiful place, surrounded by nature and new friends.

The atmosphere was peaceful and serene, and you could feel all your worries and fears melting away.

Finally, you arrived at the cabin, a cozy wooden structure called 'Cabin Rabbit'. You couldn't help but notice the bright yellow door with a large rabbit painted on it.

The cabin's exterior was made of wooden logs and had a rustic charm to it. The windows were adorned with colorful curtains and flower boxes overflowing with vibrant blooms. You could already feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the cabin.

However, what caught your eye the most was the flag, the cabin had its own flag...but it was blank that hung limply from the flagpole.

You dropped your bags onto the ground and walked over to the flag.

You noticed something strange about the flag while you approached it. It was completely blank. No picture of a rabbit, no colors, just a plain white flag.

You looked over to the others who dropped their own bags and followed in suit.

"That's weird," Uraraka said as she stood beside you, touching the white flag.

Mina rubbed her chin as she stared at it, "yeah, I know the cabins have their own flags but they're usually colored."

The four of you were puzzled and intrigued by the mysterious flag. You all couldn't understand why it was blank. You decided to ask Midnight about it.

Everyone turned to Midnight to see her trying to pick up all the bags, she grinned at the four and you. "You've seen the flag already," Midnight questioned, acknowledging the fact that they were near it.

Mina was the one to gain the courage to speak, "yeah, what's up with that?"

"Oh, we're supposed to make our flag to our benefits, they didn't do that when you were younger because you guys didn't have the step two of the competitions."

"Step two?" You blurted out by mistake, now even more curious.

Before Midnight could explain Mina cut her off, replying, "so when we were young members of the cabins we had these competitions that gave us points, whoever got the highest points won."

Everyone nodded in agreement as you fumbled on her words, you never knew this but they did. It embarrassed you not to know, you should've researched a bit more.

Midnight started the sentence she never got to begin. "Thanks, Mina. So this year is much more competitive, you're going to be put to your limits and maybe one of you will die." Everyone turned to her with wide eyes, totally confused and shocked about what she had just said. "Nah, I'm kidding, but I love the looks on your faces," Midnight corrected, laughing it off as she made her way up the small porch's steps.

"I'll fill you in more on 'step two' tomorrow, now get your butts in the cabin before I lock you out."

"Yes, ma'am," everyone said in sync. You quickly went to grab your duffel bag as you giggled with the girls, you knew that this was going to be an unforgettable summer.
