Bunnies
It had been a good first day at camp already, you were no longer nervous. Maybe you were still, but just a bit, it had to come with never being to a camp before and not knowing anyone here.
But that's when Kirishima, your new and first friend, came to your rescue. He had been coming to this camp for years and was a pro at making new friends. "Just to give you a warning, my cabin mates are...how would you'd say it?...rowdy?"
You chuckled at the comment, they couldn't be that 'rowdy'.
Kirishima brought you to a large wooden table where four boys were already sitting. Kirishima introduced you to Denki, Sero, and Tokoyami. They all greeted you with warm smiles and you instantly felt at ease.
Denki, the first one to introduce himself, was a tall and handsome boy with yellow hair and a black strand in his hair also. He immediately caught your attention with his charming smile and playful demeanor. "Hi there, I'm Denki, as Kiri introduced. Are you having fun at camp yet?"
"Yeah, it's really nice here," you replied.
Denki nodded, "welp, I hope you like the competitions more than the crafts, sparky."
You couldn't help but giggle at the nickname he gave you.
He started flirting, making jokes, it made you blush and giggle as everyone else at the table groaned.
You were enjoying his company until he went to shake your hand. Suddenly, you remembered what Uraraka, your other friend, had told you about Denki.'Don't shake his hand, he'll shock you for fun,' she had warned you.
You didn't reach your hand out to him and another boy at the table- named Sero said, "that was a good choice."
Denki looked a little shocked at Sero but he quickly brushed it off and continued making witty remarks and puns.
Sero rolled his eyes, "are you done with your corny and cheesy flirts?" He questioned Denki.
"I think, sparky here, deserves all my 'corny and cheesy flirts'," he retorted, giving Sero a side-eye.
The third boy- Tokoyami planted his hand onto his face, groaning and muttering about how he got stuck with those boys.
Just as the other two boys were going to introduce themselves, Kirishima cut them off, "have you guys seen Bakugo?"
The mention of his name made you choke on your drink, everyone stared at you confusedly.
"You ok?" Sero asked, reaching out to you as you gave him a thumbs up.
Bakugo was one of their cabin mates?
Sero returned to the conversation at hand. "Nah, haven't seen him since earlier," Sero told Kirishima.
You looked over to Kirishima, whose eyes were scanning the whole mess hall for him. Of course, Kirishima had to be friends with Bakugo.
He kept looking around, clearly worried about Bakugo as he tried to spot him, but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Don't worry about Bakugo, he's probably off somewhere, blowing things up," Denki joked, earning a laugh from Sero and Tokoyami.
Kirishima chuckled and shook his head, "He's not that bad, he's just a little rough around the edges."
"A little rough? He's rock hard, it's always 'listen to me' and 'this wouldn't happen if I was leading!'" Sero added.
You looked over to Kirishima, they might've been funny but it wasn't nice to make jokes when Kirishima was acting so serious. "It's ok, Kirishima, I bet he'll turn up."
Kirishima gave you a small smile as the others bursted out in laughter. You turned to them with a raised eyebrow, completely confused.
Denki wiped away a non-existent tear as he said, "you call him Kirishima?"
You cocked your head to the side, turning your head to look at Kirishima, "yeah...isn't that your name?"
Kirishima nodded, "what're you guys getting at?" He questioned, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Sero explained, "well, it just sounds like a teacher calling you out or a mother about to say your full name when you're in trouble."
"Oh," you stated. "Sorry, I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable."
Kirishima shook his head, clearly fine with you calling him his full name instead of a nickname. Kirishima pointed at the two, "you're always making trouble!"
"What can I say, we're just double trouble," Denki said, wrapping an arm around Sero as the two laughed.
Tokoyami then said, "there is no brain cells in those two, just a dark abyss in the head."
"Woah, rude," Sero stated, but it hadn't sounded like he was offended. He was still smiling.
Just then another person sat down at the table, you looked up to see a boy with a scowl on his face. You already knew it was Bakugo.
You didn't know how Bakugo and Kirishima were even friends. Bakugo was a hot-headed and loud-mouthed boy, with spiky blonde hair and intense red eyes while Kirishima was a cheerful and easy-going boy, with bright red hair and a friendly smile. They were complete opposites and somehow they had become close friends.
Kirishima's expression changed. He started to scold Bakugo, "Dude, what took you so long? In fact, where were you even, man?" he exclaimed, a hint of annoyance and worry in his voice.
Bakugo rolled his eyes and snapped back, "Shut the fuck up, shitty hair. It's none of your damn business."
Kirishima's eyebrows furrowed in annoyance and he was about to retort when Bakugo suddenly turned to you and said, "And why the hell are you even here?"
He was speaking to you, you had caught Bakugo's attention.
You nervously fidgeted with your hands, feeling a bit intimidated by Bakugo's intense gaze.
Bakugo glared at you with squinted eyes and demanded, "What are you doing here?"
You sheepishly smiled at him and replied, "Um, Kirishima asked me to join you guys for lunch," you replied, trying to sound casual. "Is that okay? I can leave if you want."
"That's be nice," Bakugo spat, his tone harsh and leaving no room for argument.
You grabbed your plate, about to stand up.
However, Kirishima grabbed your wrist and looked up to you, "no, I invited you so that means you have to stay."
"I don't want to intrude, it seems like I'm just a bother right now," you told Kirishima, looking at Bakugo from the side of your eye to see a worsened scowl on his face.
Bakugo scoffed, "can you go back to your raccoon eyed friend and leave me the fuck alone?"
"That's not nice, Kacchan," Denki teased, smiling up at him as he leaned in closer.
Bakugo didn't even stare at Denki as he shoved his hand in Denki's face, pushing him away.
Kirishima shook his head, "Y/n's my guest and she's staying, got it?"
"Y'know what that pink-haired annoyance did. Now you want this extra to join my table?"
"Your table? It's everyone's table, no one owns a table," Kirishima fought back.
Bakugo scoffed and started to argue with Kirishima, "we can't trust anyone that's at the 'bunny cabin', especially the pink trash panda."
"I don't see why she can't sit with us, there's not much of a problem."
Bakugo's temper flared, and he stood up, slamming his hands on the table. "Yes, there's a fucking problem!"
The whole mess hall went quiet as Bakugo glared at you. "I don't want you here, okay? This is my table, the 'Cabin Bear' table," Kirishima tried to intervene, but Bakugo was too fired up to listen and continued.
"You don't fucking belong here, got it? You haven't done nothing here to prove shit, go back to your wimpy bunnies, idiot."
You stood up, holding back your tears from all hurtful words he had said. He was crazy and you didn't want to even be known with him.
You gritted your teeth as you stated, "We're not bunnies, we're rabbits."
"Like I give a shit."
You scoffed at him, grabbing your plate and leaving 'his' table.
Kirishima tried to stop you, calling out, "wait, Y/n!"
But you didn't stop, right now you just had to get out of here.
