Percy

Naturally, Percy and Thalia were chosen to carry the mummy back to the attic.

Of course. Don't send the muscular Ares kids or the Apollo kids, whose father this mummy technically belonged to. Send the idiot son of Posideon and the daughter of Zeus who may or may not have wanted to kill said son of Posideon.

That mummy was heavy, and she didn't seem to want to get up and walk the rest of the way back.

Percy tried to focus on not dropping the mummy instead of the glares Thalia repeatedly shot him.

"Uh... we won?" Percy said once the mummy was back in her place in the creepy attic.

Thalia shrugged. "Yeah."

"Aaaaand... we didn't die."

"Yep."

"That plan was actually pretty good."

"Mhm." Thalia looked away.

Of course, that plan had been devised by the Athena kids. But loyalty told Percy that if Annabeth had helped, they would have won even faster, anticipated the Hunters' moves, kept them from that close call. He was pretty sure Thalia was thinking the same thing.

Percy gave up with the small talk. "I had a dream last night. About Annabeth."

Thalia finally looked up in interest.

Percy swallowed. "I tried to tell you at Capture the Flag, but we were too focused on winning. She was in a cave. Luke was holding up the roof somehow. Annabeth went to him and helped him bear it because he looked like he was in pain. Then Luke made her carry it alone and just left."

Thalia thought for a minute. "There are like, ten billion caves in the world."

"No dip, Sherlock. I think it might be a representation of something else."

"Like?"

"I don't know. It's just a gut instinct."

"Well, Zoë had a dream about Artemis. I think that's why the mummy came," Thalia said with slight distaste.

"I need to get on this quest," Percy decided. "We both do. And some of the others."

Thalia nodded again. "Thing is, there's only six on this quest. And Zoë is gonna want it to be majority Hunters."

"I guess we might have to run away from camp again."

Thalia sighed. "You are an idiot."

They headed down the stairs to the rec room.

They held all of their meetings about the fate of the world around a ping pong table with crackers and Easy Cheese. A couple of Hermes kids had stolen the paddles several years before Percy arrived at camp and hidden them somewhere, so nobody could play table tennis anymore. And so the table was repurposed as the meeting table.

Thalia and Percy took their seats.

"About time," Mr. D grumbled.

"Why must all of these boys be here?" Zoë demanded.

"Hey," Connor Stoll said. "It wasn't our fault we were born with-"

Miranda Gardiner from Demeter clapped a hand over his mouth.

"Thank you," Zoë said to her, slightly begrudgingly. "Now. We are here because I had a dream last night."

"So did I," Percy volunteered.

Bianca glanced at him. Zoë glared.

Chiron looked at Percy with interest. So did the rest of the campers.

"About Annabeth," Percy said.

Malcolm Pace from the Athena cabin fell out of his chair. "Is she okay?"

Percy did something between nodding and shaking his head. Even he wasn't sure what it was. "Uhhh... Well the good news is she's alive. The bad news is she's been captured by Luke."

"This quest is for Artemis," Zoë said coolly. "Not for thy girlfriend."

Thalia snorted into the tray of crackers. Sherman Yang from Ares had been reaching for it. He withdrew, looking disgusted.

Okay so quick explanation
I forgot Sherman Yang existed. He's the assistant counselor for Ares. Not this Isaac guy I invented off the top of my head.
Isaac does not exist.
Any interactions with Isaac were actually with Sherman.
Sorry for any confusion, anyway let's move on

"But," Thalia said after her involuntary laugh, "Luke has both of them. So we could make the quest for both-"

"Enough," Zoë commanded. "Let us review the prophecy."

Next to her, Bianca opened a small notebook where they had apparently written it down. "Six shall go west to the goddess in chains."

"So six will go on this quest," Chiron decided. "But it worries me. It's always been three..."

"I will be going, evidently," Zoë continued. "I must find my Lady. Bianca, will you join me?"

Bianca hesitated, but nodded. "At your service, Lieutenant."

"And Phoebe will have to join us as well," Zoë continued. Percy had no idea who Phoebe was. "She is skilled in healing."

"Campers and Hunters combined prevail," Percy quoted. He remembered that line, at least. "We need some of each. Three campers, three Hunters."

"I'm going," Thalia said immediately. "For Annabeth."

Zoë scrutinized her. "Fine."

"Can I come?" Grover asked.

"I suppose," Zoë said. "A satyr's sense of smell is a valuable asset to have."

"Yess." Grover pumped his fist. "I can search for Pan along the way."

"I need to go too," Percy said.

"No. Thou art a boy," Zoë replied. "I do not travel with boys."

Percy scoffed. "You let Grover!"

"He doesn't count. He is a satyr."

"Hey!" Grover protested.

"You still need one more member," Percy insisted. "I'm coming."

"No, you are not," Zoë said. "I would rather go on a quest with a pig than with a boy."

"Send Ren," Beckendorf suggested, and the Stoll twins cackled.

"Joke's on you! I've been a guinea pig!" Percy said.

"No!" Zoë said. "If no other worthy campers will come, then I will bring another Hunter."

Thalia looked at Percy in pity, then abruptly grabbed the notebook from Bianca. "I'm a little worried about the death part, though."

"We can't defy the prophecy," Miranda said. "Don't bad things happen if you defy prophecies?"

"It's physically impossible," Lee Fletcher from Apollo said. "There will be some other way it'll come true. Maybe someone will join them along the way. Maybe they'll get someone last minute. It'll happen somehow."

"One shall be lost in the land without rain," Thalia read, before Bianca took the notebook back. "A desert?"

"Can't be that easy," Grover said. "It's a prophecy, it's never obvious-"

"What's the Bane of Olympus?" Sherman wondered.

Percy was stumped. And nobody else answered, so they probably were too.

Oh, wait. Zoë was talking. "I believe it is the monster that Lady Artemis was hunting when she was captured."

"And one shall perish by a parent's hand," Percy said.

Zoë sighed. "We do not need thy help, boy. Leave us."

"But I need to go on this quest!" Percy argued.

Zoë ignored him.

Thalia glared at her.

Percy also glared at her.

Then he got up and left the room.

I guess I'm going illegally, then.

Again...

Why do I always do this?

~~~
Ohhh my gosh I finally did it 😭
I don't even care if it's not accurate to the original book, I finished it
