Chapter 6 (Sophia)
A bunch of campers had stopped doing their daily activities and went to say hello to the group of people that had just arrived. My eyes landed on the one Hermes kid I met earlier today. He had blonde hair and light blue eyes that were dreamy to stare into. It was almost like looking at the ocean.
I tore my eyes away and looked at another kid who looked like he had been at camp longer than me. I saw Aliya staring at him, too, and I swear, he looked like one of those K-pop guys.
"You think he's cute?" I asked teasingly.
"Pfft, no–I mean, yeah, I guess . . ." Aliya admitted, trailing off.
"You like him, don't you?" I asked bluntly.
"Shut up!" She looked so much more flustered than when she looked at Nico or Will.
"He looks like he was a BTS member or something," I pointed out.
"Nah, he looks like he's from Stray Kids," she argued.
"Who's from Stray Kids?" asked Elena.
"Nobody, but he looks like Felix," I said, gesturing to the Ares kid (Percy told us) that Aliya somehow thought was cute. She and Elena walked towards the big group of people which was full of people that looked like old friends. I saw Lukas in the crowd of people and I wondered how he knew everyone. Or maybe he was just getting squashed. He caught my eye and gave me a small friendly smile. I tried to smile back, but my face wasn't working, so I followed Elena and Aliya to where Percy and Annabeth were standing.
"Jason, Piper, and Leo- meet the new half-bloods," Percy said."This is my younger sister, Sophia. This is Elena, the daughter of Koalemos, the god of stupidity. Last but not least, Aliya who is unclaimed."
"Do you know who could be your godly parent?" asked Piper
"Don't know and also don't care," she said saucily.
"I like her, can we keep her?" Leo asked.
Annabeth sighed. "I think we're going to have to keep her either way."
Just then we heard loud voices. We looked around and found that both Lukas and the other K-pop-looking dude were shouting at each other.
"Lukas you son of a–!" the Ares kid shouted.
Percy ran over to them, and we all followed to see the commotion.
"Ok, first, why are you yelling curse words?" Percy shout-asked. "Second, why did y'all not let me paintball him?" He complained.
Aliya and Leo were currently looking at the scene as if it was all an entertaining movie.
I settled down on the ground where we were next to Aliya's feet. "Honestly, boys are kind of entertaining to watch."
"Noo! Why didn't you aim for the head, Felix?" Leo complained.
Felix then took out a dagger and charged at Lukas. They started play-fighting a bit and then laughed and hugged each other.
"You're weird, k-pop boy," Lukas said.
"You are very stupid," stated Felix.
"I find that very offensive," said Lukas.
"Well, you're stupid," Felix shot back.
"Well, you're dumb."
"I don't like your hair," said Felix.
Aliya gasped. "Oh my gods, I can't believe he went there."
I was taken aback. "His hair looks better than yours!" I yelled to Felix.
He glared at me. "Shut up!"
Aliya glared at me too. "Yeah, his hair is fine!"
Leo waggled his eyebrows. "Seems like someone's got a cruuuuush," he teased.
I fell laughing. Aliya was indignant. "I do not!"
"You do too!" I wheezed.
"So do you! You're simping for someone you didn't even know was real and you have a crush!"
"Who're you simping for?" Leo asked.
"It doesn't matter anymore, he's taken," I said calmly, still getting my breath back from laughing.
Leo raised his eyebrows and smiled. "Alright, if you say so."
I groaned. "Shut up!"
"In case you wanted to know, it was you," Aliya said matter-of-factly.
My cheeks became so red when Aliya said that. "I said shut up!"
"I know, all the ladies think I'm hot." He glanced at a pretty girl with brown hair.
"WHAT?" The girl yelled. "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?"
"Except her, but she loves me anyway." Leo shouted back, "It was just a look of love!"
"Wait," I said, realizing who it could have been. "Was that Calypso?"
Leo glanced at me apologetically. "Yeah, she's kind of loud, indignant, and bossy, but otherwise she's great." He squinted at me. "Aren't you the daughter of Poseidon?"
"Yeah," I said. "What about it?"
"Then why are your eyes like that? Not that I'm saying they're ugly," he added quickly. "Brown eyes are the best. I have brown eyes. I just thought you would have sea-green eyes, like Percy."
"I guess I'm special," I said, feeling embarrassed but also kind of proud for having different colored eyes.
Percy must have overheard because he came over and joined the conversation. "Yeah, you don't look anything like Dad. That's weird."
"Gee, thanks." I gave Percy a harsh look.
Then I saw a girl with blonde hair run up to me. "Sophia!" She called, and then I recognized her.
"Luna!" I got up and hugged her.
"Who the heck is this?" Aliya asked. "Also where did Elena go?"
"This is Luna, daughter of Athena," I introduced. "I have no idea where Elena went."
"Sophia's told me all about you," Luna said. She twirled a strand of her long hair around her finger. If you didn't know her, you would think she was flirting, but she's just shy.
"Nice to meet you, Luna," Aliya said.
"Who are you?" Elena asked, out of breath. I was startled. "Bet you didn't see me there," she added with a smirk.
"Where the Hades were you??" I asked.
"Your mom," she said.
"Oh gods, no," I groaned. "Seriously. We thought you ran away or something."
"I would have been thankful for that," sighed Aliya.
Felix and Lukas came over to us.
"Anyways," Lukas said with a small laugh. Felix glared at him. Even though they were good friends, they acted like they hated each other.
"Honestly," I said sincerely, "I think Lukas's hair looks better than yours."
"Dude, Felix's hair is the best, and Lukas's hair looks like a freaking mop," Aliya complained.
"See, she backed me up." Felix pointed to Aliya and grinned.
"Well, she better watch where she sleeps tonight," Lukas threatened.
"We are NOT killing each other in their sleep," I said. "But Lukas has a point." Aliya looked like she was ready to murder.
"Whose side are you on?" Felix asked menacingly.
I snorted. "Not yours."
"And they were friends," Leo joked.
At that moment Aliya looked like she either wanted to die or wanted me to die. She stared at me like she would murder my entire family line.
"You can't kill my dad, sadly," I said with mock dismay.
"Wow, this is, like, the best fight I've ever seen," Elena said sassily.
"If I were you, I'd run," Aliya said as she chased Elena around the group. If I were to get a dollar for the number of times she bumped into someone, I'd be rich.
While Aliya was chasing Elena, something wonderful happened. I hope you can read the sarcasm. Felix dragged me into the bathrooms, and then menacingly said "I hope you can breathe underwater like your wimpy brother." Here's a tip: never tell an Ares kid that they're stupid because it makes them wanna shove your head in a toilet more. At this moment I hoped Aliya would stop liking this kid. My head was violently pushed into the toilet.
"What in Hades did I ever do to you??" I shrieked. I became extremely angry and felt a tug in my gut. Then the water exploded out of the toilet and onto Felix's face. His Ares friends that had followed him were laughing but then their smiles faded as they got drenched in toilet water.
I just realized the same thing had happened to Percy Jackson (aka my brother) –I had just become one with the plumbing.
"Sophia!" I heard my name and twisted out of Felix's headlock. I was standing in a giant puddle of smelly toilet water. It was the entire bathroom because it had flooded. I was the only one that wasn't dripping.
Aliya and Luna came running into the bathroom. Luna was smart enough to stay out of the way of the water but Aliya barged right in and got soaked. She glared at me.
"Hey!" I protested. "I wasn't trying to stay dry."
She stomped right up to Felix and I and raised her hand. I braced myself because she's slapped me before, and dang that girl slaps hard, like Will Smith hard. Instead, though, she smacked Felix right on the cheek, so hard that it left a mark. I cringed in sympathy, but he deserved it. Felix's siblings' jaws dropped, literally no one had the balls to do that to a child of Ares since the great Clarisse La Rue and Percy Jackson bathroom incident.
Then Percy came in. "Oh, gods," he sighed. He turned to me. "Well, what are you going to be? I'm already the Supreme Lord of the Bathroom–you can't have that title."
I started laughing hysterically.
"I don't know about supreme," I said, wagging my finger. "But I suppose I'll have to come up with another title."
Felix was staring at Aliya in shock and Aliya was busy apologizing because she probably didn't want to lose her chance of him liking her back.
