Chapter 11 (Elena)
Well, I think that whoever invented sleepovers should have named them stay-up-all-night-and-not-get-any-sleep-overs.
After the incident with the gorgon, the night continued on without any more disruptions, unless you count someone telling us to SHUT UP and go to sleep. (Shut your pie hole, Aliya! It's your fault you broke the vase or whatever it was!)
I'm guessing it was 3 am when everyone fell asleep. I woke up to pure chaos–Lukas, Sophia, Aliya, Felix, Percy, and Annabeth were having a pillow fight, feathers flying everywhere. There was a lot of squealing, to say the least, and Annabeth was winning with her strategic pillow-swinging. Then I heard a loud thump.
Once my eyes adjusted to the amount of light that was in the room, I saw Aliya land on top of Felix. The pillow fighting stopped, and I burst out laughing along with everyone else. The couple blushed furiously as everyone laughed. They slowly got up from the floor and Felix whispered something in Aliya's ear.
"We're going to go, uh, clean up," Felix said. "You guys can take your time." I watched suspiciously as they walked off.
"I am TRUSTING YOU," I yelled as they walked off, "to be RESPONSIBLE and MATURE young adults."
"Shut up!" Some kid yelled from the Demeter cabin. "We're trying to sleep in here!"
Sophia burst out into giggles and Percy and Lukas started laughing hysterically. "They," Sophia said in between breaths, "are the most predictable, immature couple ever."
Percy and Sophia started to get dressed while Annabeth and Lukas wandered off to their own cabins. The rising sun warmed my back as I went to the pavilion in my pajamas like a normal person. Aliya and Felix (who was beside her) were sitting at the table waiting for my greatness to bestow them with my presence. They looked annoyed, though. "We've been waiting forever," Aliya grumbled as she stuffed her mouth with waffles.
I grinned. "Please." Secretly I was reading their minds. I knew Aliya and Felix had been spending some quality time in Cabin 21.
"Stop," she said affirmatively. Felix looked confused, even though he knew what she was doing.
"I know what you two did in the cabin." I wiggle my eyebrows. "That's why I didn't go in to change."
Just then a grape juice box was yeeted at Aliya. Aliya scowled. I looked around and saw that the attacker was a kid at the Hermes table, sitting next to Lukas. He had this stupid grin on his face that made him look uglier than he already was.
Aliya made a sour face as she threw her half-eaten french toast at the kid, but instead of hitting him, it hit Lukas, who took it the wrong way and threw a waffle back at her. In turn Felix threw his bottle of coke at one of the snickering kids at the table.
An Ares kid and an Apollo kid saw what was happening and the Ares kid threw his yogurt at me. I gasped and flung a pancake and it landed smack in the middle of his face. That was pretty much why every cabin chose sides and started yeeting things at the tables on the opposite side. There was a lot of squealing going on while food was being thrown around, and I felt bad for the harpies who would have to clean up this mess.
I saw Aliya throw a croissant like a boomerang at a kid who was throwing a soda can at Sophia. The fight continued with neither side winning or losing. I laughed under my breath. Aliya kept trying to throw her croissant and Sophia continued to cheer her on, although I could tell she was also laughing.
"Go, go, go!" Sophia cheered.
"If you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!" Aliya said menacingly.
I cheered her on as she said that.
I always thought that Aliya was the independent one. She always stood up for us (even though we were perfectly fine defending ourselves). It's the thought that counts I guess.
I'm guessing Felix convinced his siblings to join our sides because they were busy throwing bowls and plates of stuff at the opposing tables. This fight continued and ended with Aliya, Sophia, Percy, Annabeth and everyone else on our team winning—well, if you call Chiron telling us to stop fighting and making a mess of the Dining Pavilion winning.
