Arrival
PERCABETH'S FAMILY
Percy's POV
As we drive toward Camp Half-Blood I feel like I want to bang my head against the steering wheel. That's how much the noise was annoying me. I made a mental checklist, it went like this-
*Defeat a couple titans- check!
*Defeat Gaea- check!
*Rescue a goddess- check!
*Fought (and won) in two wars- check!
*Hold the sky- check!
*Survive Tartarus- check!
*Do a bunch of other stuff I don't want to list- check!
*Handle my kids and get them to shut up once in awhile- Not yet.......
I sighed and looked over at my Wise Girl. She noticed me looking at her and she rolled her eyes. She turned toward the conversations in the back of the car. At first she just listened waiting to see what to tell them this time. This is what we overheard-
"MOVE OVER DYLAN!"
"I CAN'T I DON'T HAVE ANY SPACE KAYLA! YOU MOVE OVER!"
"YOUR STUPID!"
"HOW AM I THE STUPID ONE! I'M THE DESCENDANT OF ATHENA, YOU KNOW THE WISDOM GODDESS!!"
"SO! THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU SMART! IT MEANS YOUR FAMILY IS SMART!"
"UNDER THE SEA! UNDER THE SEA!" Well, we know what movie Madison is watching.... Then we heard the loudest of them all, which came from the far back of the car.
"WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP! I AM TRYING TO READ HERE!" Nicole screamed at her annoying siblings. I chuckled silently when they all grumpily obeyed. No one wanted to mess with Nicole when she was reading, they all learned that the hard way.
**FLASHBACK**
I was sitting at the dining room table eating breakfast with Kayla and Dylan about six and Nicole about seven. It was a peaceful breakfast, for once, and Nicole was reading a new book she got from the library.
All of a sudden both Kayla and Dylan reach for the last piece of bacon. Of course, here it comes.
"GIVE ME THE BACON!"
"NO, I GOT IT FIRST!"
"NO YOU DIDN'T!"
"YES I DID!"
"NO YOU DIDN'T!"
"YES I DID!"
And this went on for awhile but I am not gonna waste my time repeating it. So, finally Annabeth stepped in and told them to stop which they didn't listen to and if you know my wife, that didn't help the screaming match at all. So, the screaming continued.
"SIT DOWN YOU TWO!"
"YOU GOT THE LAST PIECE OF BACON LAST TIME!"
"NO THAT WAS YOU!"
"OH, YOU LITTLE DEVILS! GIVE ME THE FREAKING BACON! AND STOP YELLING!"
They both turned to her and they started screaming in unison, which I thought was pretty cool how they knew exactly what the other was going to say, but anyways, again the screaming continued.
"YOU CAN'T TELL US WHAT TO DO!"
"I AM YOUR MOTHER AND YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW!"
I finally realized that my wife was arguing with two six year olds and burst out laughing, which caused them all to look at me, except Nicole whose eyes were glued to the page of her book. I quickly covered up my laugh with a cough while my wife and 2/3 of children stared at me. I gulped nervously.
"What were you laughing at," my wife said in a deadly calm voice.
"Well, you see...I-I was laughing at....uhm.." I tried to get out of trouble.
"He was laughing at us, mommy!" Kayla said, eyes narrowed. I laughed nervously. A split second later the screaming started again.
"WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP! I AM TRYING TO READ HERE!"
We all look toward Nicole who had the bacon in one hand and her book in the other. She stood up, left the room, and a few minutes later we heard a door slam.
"Well, I think that means breakfast is over," Annabeth said.
After that incident we learned to never mess with Nicole if she was reading.
**FLAHBACK OVER**
The car stayed silent for about fifteen minutes (Its a new record!) then all of a sudden Dylan screamed at the top of his lungs
"WE'RE HERE!" as he pointed up head toward the hill that looked oh so familiar.
JIPER/JASPER FAMILY
As I packed the last suitcase I heard footsteps running toward the car along with arguing. I sighed, this was going to be a long ride.
**5 Minutes Later**
JASON'S POV
WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS TORTURE!!!!!!
"MATTHEW, SIT YOUR BUTT DOWN IN THAT SEAT AND STOP TAKING YOUR SISTERS PHONE!"
"But mommyyyyy," he held out the y and did his best pouty face.
"No buts, sit down," he listened- for once-,"And give your sister her phone back," he silently handed it back to Selena and pouted.
I sighed for like the millionth time today and kept driving turning up the radio to attempt to stop myself from banging my head against the steering wheel.
*About 5 hours later*
We pulled up to Camp Half-Blood and I practically ran oout of the car. Probably all the guys were doing/did the same thing. This was a new kind of torture.
FRAZEL FAMILY
RACHAEL POV
"Did you pack everything, Rachael? How about you Michael?" my mom asked.
"Yes mom," we answered in unison.
"Can I just fly there! I mean it would be so much easier! Dad could fly! You and Michael could ride your horse Arion!" I pleaded for the hundreth time.
"No Rachael, end of discustion. I sighed in defeat and grabbed my headphones to help me fall asleep so I won't have to listen to my annoying brother the entire ride there.
I plugged in my headphones and turned on my music and closing my eyes. I fell asleep instantly.
HAZEL'S POV
I was so excited to get to camp and reunite with my friends!
We could hang out like we used to and it will be a change from Camp Jupiter every summer. I looked back at my children in the backseat, I laughed quietly so I wouldn't wake them. They were both fast asleep with drool coming out of Michaels mouth and Rachael seems to be muttering "unicorns, rainbows.......food" over and over again in her sleep. I quickly took a video and picture and put my phone away. I looked over at Frank who was extreamly focused on driving. I smiled to myself and closed my eyes just relaxing while smiling like crazy. We were going to Camp Half- Blood.
TRATIE FAMILY
TRAVIS'S POV
I slowly dragged myself toward the car in my pajamas, not really caring to get dressed for the drive to Long Island Sound. When Katie and I got married we decided to live close to Camp Half-Blood just in case, so it wasn't that far of a drive. Katie rolled her eyes as she saw me. I smirked at her and got in the car while she called the kids to come down.
About five minutes later everyone was in the car and Nathan was passed out on the very back seat. I heard Katie mumbled something along the lines of "like father, like son" and I chuckled.
We took the short drive to Long Island and quickly got out. When I got out the kids had already opened the sliding door and were piling out with their stuff.
I tried to wake up Nathan but he wouldn't budge. I tried again, same result.
Suddenly I got an idea.
I grabbed Lily's hot pink stroller and dragged Nathan out of the car. I put him in the stroller and grabbed some random bags. I pushed him up the hill and my family just kept laughing along with me.
This will be so embarassing for him. *insert evil grin*
CALO FAMILY
CALYPSO POV
I picked up my daughter, Charlotte, out of her hight chair and propped her on my hip and grabbed my bag and Charlotte's in the hold hand.
"Rosemary! We are leaving!"
"Coming!" she replied.
A few seconds later she came padding down the stairs with her suitcase. I smiled as my husband was acting like his goofball self.
We loaded up the car and got inside. We started driving down the road, on our way to Camp Half-Blood. About 10 minutes into the drive everyone started doing their own activites.
Rosemary was reading and listening to music,
Charlotte was watching a TV program on Rosemary's laptop,
My husband was driving,
And I was watching the scenery out the window.
I love my family.
*2 hours later*
We pulled up to Camp Half-Blood and saw some some cars parked, but still couldn't see Percy and Annabeth's car yet. I felt sorry for Percy at that moment.
We brought our stuff up over the hill, ready to begin out summer.
CLARISSE/CHRIS FAMILY
ISABELLA"S POV
My family wasn't really the softy-type so we didn't really care about getting to Camp Half-Blood. We lazily loaded up the car and got inside.
My brother and I sat in the back playing a video game while my mom fell asleep in the passenger seat.
This was our normal car ride arrangements.
So, anyway about 2-3, maybe 4 hours later (I couldn't care less) we pulled up to Camp Half-Blood.
Just as we had done to pack up the car, we unloaded the car lazily and it took maybe a half and hour just to start walking up the hill.
Well, I better enjoy this summer otherwise I will be seriously upset about leaving my bedroom all summer.
