I knew it was too good to be true! Marco never really cared about me? He called me weird and loud when I first got here and here I was thinking he might actually like me? "I'm done! I need space!" I looked through my window and saw Marco rush away in anger and the girls stirred in their beds and I walked towards my room and started to cry.

Maybe I should just leave? I can always tell my parents I could work somewhere else? "Star?" As I sit up and wipe my face Camilla comes in half asleep "Counselor Marco is yelling" I sigh and nodded "I know, he needs to relax and stay away from me for awhile" "What? Why?"

"Its complicated Camilla, you can sleep in my bed tonight I'll go check" I walked out the room and saw the girls peaking through the window with the lights off seeing Marco start throwing and smashing things around "I've never seen him so angry before?" "Me either"

I sigh and felt bad for this but he put this on himself, even though I like him I just can't give in and then Jackie accusing me of putting that honey! That's pretty funny but I didn't do it. I heard a knock and I see it's Janna and she looks stressed

"Hey, the chief wants to see you now" "Uh okay be right there" I told the girls to relax and I took off behind Janna and Marco was being held back by his cousins. I entered the office and see Marcos uncle with a look of stress "Ms Butterfly" "Yes sir?"

"What is going on with you and my nephew?" I blushed and shook my head "Nothing, we are just friends and its not my fault it's the other girls fault" "I didn't ask who's fault it is, i asked what is going on between you guys" "Like I said, nothing Marco is acting out on his own I did nothing wrong, if anything I feel attacked by everyone here" he sighs

"Ms Butterfly I understand but maybe I should keep you away from Marco and Jackie the whole summer" "I understand" "You're not gonna fight me on this?" I shook my head "No, I don't want to get more in trouble" he nods

"Your free to go then" I stood up and walked out the office and Marco was being brought in as he saw me he looked broken and I looked away. I can't fall for it and this time I need to get even.

Just like the chief said, I wasn't near Marco or Jackie and they were separated from each other as well and I just sigh. Now my chances with Marco are out the window now. "Morning" I look up and see Janna "Hey" I said not really sounding like myself "How are you holding up?"

"Alright I guess" "I see that your sad about not being with Marco, I can't believe he went crazy!" She was joking and I didn't even listen, I just wanted to hide or run away for awhile "Did you call me weird when I first came?" She looked at me and sighs "I call everyone weird, I even call myself weird" I rolled my eyes

"Okay" she sits beside me and I really want to be left alone "Hey, I know that you're upset and stuff but it's life and Marco isn't worth it, you don't need to focus on a boy the whole summer, you gotta focus on the campers because they need you" I lifted my head and looked at the girls who held smiles "Your right"

"Of course I am and also I kinda helped you out" I raised a brow "What do you mean?" "I'm the one who" she pulls me closer and whispered in my ear "What?!" She covers my mouth and shush me "Quiet down, I only did it cause it's not right to get poisoned like that"

I smirked and pulled her into a hug "Thanks Janna" "No problem, I'll see you later since we'll be working together for awhile" "Alright later" she took off and I started laughing. Janna that little sneaker..

As we finished breakfast I saw marco with his face down as he was carrying a bag filled with frisbees. I froze and he stopped and looked at me and then kept moving, it kind hurt a bit but it's for the best. I sigh and head towards the lake for canoes again.

Janna had the campers strapped in their life jackets and helped them on "You okay?" I smiled softly "Yeah, I'm fine" she pat my shoulder and went to get our canoe. It was quiet between us and all I heard were the campers talking and laughing but my mind just kept going to Marco.

It kinda hurt my feelings that he called me weird but he made an effort to get to know me. But why?! He was confusing me! "Whoa! Easy star or we'll tip over" I groan "I'm confused! Why did he say I'm weird but ended up trying to be my friend?! That doesn't make sense?!"

The boat rocked a bit and Janna held my arms "Okay stop moving so much" i rolled my eyes and looked at her "Does he like me? Like in that kind of way?" "Star I don't know? Marco is a confusing human being, even when it comes to girls" I raised a brow "Why do you say that?"

"Cause! Uh.." she seemed to blush a bit before letting me to "I used to have a crush on him when we were younger but he was clueless cause he had eyes on someone else" "Let me guess, Jackie?" She nods "Yeah, but its in past, but I kinda noticed the way he looked at you, it was the same look he used to give Jackie"

I blushed and held my arm "Is it the look like he likes me?" "Yeah, I'll tell you what, let's work together and I'll help you get with Marco" "But I'm not allowed to be near him?" "I know that's why we have after hours" she said smirking "Oh.." "Yes, so I'll get Marco to hang with me for a bit and you randomly show up and you guess can talk again"

"Janna what if he doesn't want to speak to me?" "Oh that idiot is gonna talk to you, he really wants to" "How would you know?" "Dude yesterday was crazy and he was blaming himself" "Point taken, so what's the plan?" She pulled me closer and I smirked

"You sure it's gonna work?" "It has to, you just gotta trust me" she held her hand out and I took it "If I get in trouble I'm bringing to with me" "Fair enough" we laughed as we kept rowing. I hope it really works.
