The engine of the minivan roared as Esther drove it, bobbing her head along to the song playing on the radio while Kevin laughed at her from the passenger's seat and Scott sang along loudly.

"Baby, when you finally get to love somebody, Guess what, it's gonna be me!"

In the backseats and behind the partition rolled up after Kirstin had demanded that they be given privacy for they had some important work to attend to sat Mitch, Avi and Kirstin. Avi had handed over the lyrics he had to Kirstin at Mitch's request. His heart still ached for the boy and he was far from getting over him anytime soon.

Kirstin's eyes ran down the sheet as her eyes widened and her voice dropped as she asked Mitch if he'd actually written it for Kevin, her eyes taking on a regretful expression when he responded in the affirmative. When Mitch wasn't looking, she passed a sympathetic look at Avi.

The bass couldn't believe she knew how he felt but her looking through the partition at Scott seemed to imply she knew another secret as well. Were the two roommates dating, or did one of them have a crush on the other? Was that why she asked him if he'd written it for Kevin? Several questions flooded his head but when Mitch asked Avi if he had any ideas, he shook his thought out of his head.

"Sorry, Angel, but I can't write a love song for Kevin," he told the boy whose temper immediately rose.

"I'm asking you to do this for me, not for you, Avi!" he began to yell, silenced by Kirstin patting his back and pushing him to the end so she could sit between the two and not have them fight or anything.

"No offense to Kit Kat, but you're the best songwriter I know after Kevo, Avi. So then it's really just expected I'll come to you. Please?" the boy's voice took a pleading tone.

"For you, I'd do anything for you," Avi hummed in a voice low enough for Kirstin to hear but not the tenor as he plucked the paper out of Kirstin's hand and scanned it again. He had ideas but he doubted he'd have it in him to do it for his crush so he could propose to the person who was more or less his brother. He would do it if it meant Mitch would be happy, leading him to decide to give it a go.

"How do you feel about something that goes like this?" he wrote down two lines and passed it to Mitch, Kirstin peeking over his shoulder. A smile spread onto the boy's face causing Avi to smile too. Even though he'd be quite upset not being with Mitch, he would ensure he was happy and this seemed to make him happy going by the joy in his tone as he read it out.

"'I will never let you down, grow a smile on that frown'*. Thank you so much, Dragon! I knew asking you would be the right thing to do! Now shall we complete this?" he clapped his hands in joy and leaned down to pick up the pen that had rolled on to the floor of the car when a tap sounded on the other side of the partition.

"Hey, guys, we're almost there, Esther told me to tell y'all so you'll be ready," Scott yelled.

Mitch's eyes darted around on confusion and panic as he pushed open the partition and yelled, "Didn't she say it'd take at least an hour?"

"She did, but there's barely any traffic plus we actually did leave early so we have more time for soundcheck now," Kevin explained.

Avi rubbed Mitch's back soothingly to keep him from panicking any more. His low voice reassured Mitch that they could work on it later and it wouldn't be too much of a problem.

His sister's voice squealed as she exclaimed that they had arrived as the vehicle came to a stop.

Turning to face Avi, his face filled with wrath, Mitch yelled, "I wanted it to be done today!"

Avi couldn't hold back his anger anymore as his voice dropped to a menacingly scary low voice that rang throughout the car, "Then you should've asked us to help you earlier!"

Both the angered males exited the vehicle and went opposite ways as Kevin's mouth hung open in shock that Avi had gotten so livid.
