Camouflage Me // Epilogue
This song is perfect for the feeling but I couldn't fit it into the chapter so here it is! ('Yes' by Demi Lovato)
A rather gorgeously made up brunette scrutinized every aspect of his outfit in the full-length mirror in front of him that failed to reflect the joy, satisfaction and nerves oozing from his very presence. He couldn't believe the day had come for him to marry the love of his love, the love he had held out for for so long.
The door quietly creaked open as a tall blonde man made his way inside the room and laid his hand on the boy's shoulder while he spoke, "How are you feeling, Mitch?"
Scott had had moments where he felt a little sad, reminiscing when he had dreamed about Mitch's fiancé being his own. He had gotten over him, however, and had the most amazing boyfriend whom he felt privileged to call his own. Besides, nothing could beat Mitch's ecstasy when Avi finally popped the question about a year ago and his joy kept the baritone satisfied.
Pentaholics had gone 'bat faeces crazy', as Kevin had put it while informing the others, when they found out that the counter tenor and the bass were engaged. Many kept insisting Scömíche was real, or that Avi was straight, and all of their comments had been ignored by the five, who didn't even bother to reply. The thought of Kevin brought a light tinge of pink to the blonde's face as he shrugged off his thoughts and returned his attention to his best friend whose face held a smirk as he winked at Scott.
"Why don't you finally ask him, Scotch?" he asked his bandmate, surprised that Scott hadn't yet popped the question to the guy he was madly in love with.
After observing how distraught Scott had been after Avi and Mitch got together, Mitch had hoped with all his heart for a guy deserving of his best friend to stumble by and magically fall in love with him. After their accidental collision and kiss on the day Avi had asked Mitch to be his boyfriend, Kevin seemed to have fallen several feet under in love with Scott. The brunette had expected one of them to suggest marriage soon but had been surprised that neither had for so long, after he had gone with Scott to pick out a ring and Avi had helped Kevin pick out one.
"This is your wedding, Coby Michael Grassi, and you shouldn't be talking about a love story other than your own sweet and sickeningly adorable story!"
Mitch rolled his eyes at Scott's atypical attempt to distract him from the topic. At the mention of love stories, Mitch couldn't believe how much he thought he'd been in love with Kevin romantically. He was in love but blind to the fact that it was for Avi, and he loved Kevin to bits but only as a great friend, which he was all the time.
"Seriously, stop trying to change the topic and answer properly, you noodle!" bride-zilla, or, to be more precise, Mitch-zilla surfaced as he yelled at Scott.
"To be honest, I'm only waiting for the right moment.
Mitch replied to Scott's quiet confession hopefully, "Perhaps it'll surface today?!"
Scott sighed as he held Mitch's hands and sat down next to him to reassure himself, "I would hate to ruin your day, Minx. Wouldn't it take away from your special day?"
"Absolutely not! In fact, it would even further make it! And Minx, seriously?"
"Well, Kevo suggested Mint but that's too boring for an angel like yourself so Minx it is!"
Mitch laughed at Scott's exclamation, his nerves already fading away. He was ready. After some more small talk and a lot of tears from their dear ones upon seeing him, it was time as Mitch arose and positioned himself between his parents, nodding at Scott who linked arms with Kirstin and Esther ahead of him and began to walk down the meticulously decorated aisle.
The sound of his heels clacking against the floor seemed to fill his head as he made his way down the aisle, all of the static fading away at the sight of his fiancé. He gasped at how breathtaking the man looked, making him smile at him nervously but eagerly. His hair had been beautifully styled in a bunch at the nape of his neck and his green tie brought out the chartreuse colour of his eyes, his dapper black suit fitting him like water flowing over a stone.
Avi could barely control his excitement at the sight of his fiancé in his flowy blue dress that resembled a tux at the top and a gown below his waist. His features were highlighted and his hair styled perfectly, making him get short of breath by just looking at him.
Mitch smiled at Avi's parents and his siblings Esther and Josh as he took his hand, the aisle seemingly too short to take in Avi's beauty. Luckily, he had the rest of their lives now. The vows seemed to pass by in a flash and, before he knew it, he had placed Avi's green dragon-shaped ring on his hand and his own hand was adorned by a beautiful rose gold ring that had angel wings on top, simple but uniquely placed, and they had kissed.
It was official. Mitch was Avi's and Avi was his for the rest of their lives. A song ran in his mind and he knew it'd be their truth as he hummed it loud enough for Avi to hear, "Heal your pain, and leave you aching, be the only one you're needing, camouflage me."
Avi smiled, knowing what he meant and he felt the same. Hordes of wishes passed their way and several serenades but they waited until the very end when Scott flashed a thumbs up at Mitch behind Kevin's back and Kevin did the same with Avi.
"Did Kevin tell you he was going to propose?" Avi whispered in his spouse's ear.
"Scott said he would!" Mitch squealed as he stared wide-eyed at his two bandmates who were both on their knees as they faced each other, smiling and blushing at their joy.
Mitch was beyond satisfied, Avi was overjoyed, Kevin was in paradise and Scott was ecstatic. Kirstin laughed in joy as her husband Jeremy jokingly rubbed her back and reminded her to cool down. Esther smiled at the proposal as she slow danced with her husband Darien, happy that her friends had all the peace and joy they deserved. Her brother could not have married a person more perfectly suited to him than Mitch and she was quite glad they did marry in the end.
All was well, and so were they.
