College is...fun?
╚════════════════════╝
Y/N's POV:
I walked inside the lecture hall to see only a couple students already take their seats. I sat in the second to last row but in the middle. I placed my bag under the desk and took out my notebook and pencil so I'd show my professor that I was at least prepared.
It was the first day of college and least to say was that I was sort of nervous. I mean, I'm practically starting over since I knew nobody at this damn school. Don't get me wrong, my roommate was cool, but she didn't have any classes with me. I was majoring in English while she was majoring in Political Science.
From what I remember, her name was Lauren Jauregui but I didn't really pay attention to what she explained about what my teacher was like.
A couple minutes later, students started to fill in the chairs except the ones that were near me. Most likely they sat with their friends.
"Does anyone sit here?" A feminine voice broke me out of my thoughts.
I looked up to be met with a tall and thin girl my age who had pale white but lightly freckled skin. She had dark brown curly hair that cascaded past her shoulders. Her innocent chocolate brown eyes met with mine as she waited for my answer.
"Nope, go ahead." I said and she gave a shy smile as she placed her bag on top of the table and sat beside me.
"What's your name?" She asked as pulled her notebook out of her bag.
"Y/N L/N. How about yours?"
"Allison Argent. Do you live around here?"
"No I moved here around the summer for college. I just live in the dorms." I explained and she nodded.
"Same here. I didn't really like where I lived." She said and I chuckled.
"Tell me about it. The people in my area were just a bunch of stuck ups." I replied.
"Mine was...let's just say, complicated?" She questioned herself, giggling afterwards.
The doors opened again, revealing four girls walking in as if they were in a clique. However, one girl in particular stuck out to me.
Allison followed my gaze and her eyes widened. The whole room went quiet, most people staring at the four girls that sat behind our row.
"Woah." I whispered which made Allison chuckle. The cuban that sat in the middle caught me staring and I quickly looked away.
"Who are they?" I asked and Allison smirked.
"The one you were staring at? That's Karla Cabello but people call her Camila. The rest are Ally Hernandez, Normani Kordei, and Dinah Hansen." She said and my eyes widened.
"Wait, you know them?" I asked.
"Well...Ally's my roommate. We spoke a couple times and she introduced me to her friends." She replied with a chuckle in the end.
"I think I'm gonna like college." I grinned, relaxing in my chair. The door in front of the room opened and a man in a suit placed his briefcase on his desk. His expression wasn't happy at all and I immediately knew he wasn't having it today.
Proving my point, he slammed his hands on the desk which made us jump in our seats, silencing the room.
"I'm Mr. Gonzales and welcome to English. My rules are simple and once you walk in this class, they stand. When I talk, I better not hear anyone else talking or else you're out of my class. If you give me a bullshit excuse about anything, you're out of my class. If you're not here to learn, there's the door. If you don't like my rules, you can leave if you want. I could care less!" He said but I raised my hand.
"Yes...Ms. L/N?" He said, looking at his clipboard.
"I think you mean, 'couldn't care less'." I said and he raised his eyebrows.
"Y/N don't." Allison whispered to me.
"What's that?" He asked.
"You said, you could care less. That means you do care or at least a little bit." I said, already regretting for correcting him.
"Well I don't." He said with a stern tone.
"Then you should've said 'I couldn't care less.'" Allison joined in, noticing my regret on talking. I noticed she stuck out her hand and I gave her a high (well low) five.
I heard snickering behind us and I turned around seeing it was Camila. She smiled when she noticed my gaze and I quickly turned back around.
"Well Ms. L/N and Ms. Argent, you can stay back after class since you think you're better at teaching." Mr. Gonzales crossed his arms.
"What? No, that was just me. Don't blame Allison for--" I started to say but he slammed his ruler to shut me up.
"Ms. L/N, do you want to make it a week?" He asked but I quickly shook my head.
"No sir." I said and he hummed in response. I turned to Allison and she shrugged.
"Sorry." I mouthed and she gave a small smile.
"It's okay." She mouthed back before paying attention to Mr. Gonzales.
I take back about what I said about liking college.
Two Days Later
"Jeez, it's like our professor is always pissed off." Allison whispered to me as we both walked to class together.
We sat in the same desk spots as always and took out our stuff. I sat comfortably by putting my foot on my knee (the way that guys sit) and wrote the date for today. Allison dug through her bag but she groaned.
"Dammit, I swear I brought a pen. Can I borrow yours again?" She ask and I chuckle.
"Sure." I said and unzipped my bag. I grabbed the pen from the pockets but noticed pairs of feet in front of me. I looked up slowly and noticed Camila right beside me. Her friends were standing behind her and she showed her infamous smile.
"Do you mind if we sit here?" She asked and I quickly shook my head.
"Not at all." I said and she sat on the chair beside me. I handed Allison the pen and her expression was surprised.
"What just happened?" She whispered and I shrugged.
"I don't know, she just asked to sit next to me. Out of all spots in this damn class." I whispered back.
"Well talk to her at least!" She encouraged as our professor started the lesson. I turned to Camila and she was already writing her name on her notebook.
"H-Hi." I stuttered and I mentally face-palmed myself.
"Hey Y/N." She chuckled and my eyes widened.
"How do you--"
"Your notebook." She pointed at my notebook and I awkwardly smiled.
"Right..." I trailed, not knowing what else to say.
"You know, it was funny what you said to professor Gonzales. It was hard trying not to laugh out loud because the look on his face was funny." She said and I scratched my neck nervously.
"It was embarrassing." I said and she giggled.
"Ms. L/N!" Professor Gonzales called me out and I quickly faced forward. "Do you want to have another detention today?"
"No Ma--I mean No sir." I said and he scoffed.
"That's what I thought, so quit talking." He said and I nodded. I started to write down his notes but in the corner of my eye I saw Camila giggling to herself. She ripped out a piece of paper and wrote something down, but unfortunately I couldn't see it.
She slid it to me and continued writing down her notes. I slowly grabbed it and my eyes widened once I saw what it said. I kicked Allison's foot and she looked at me in confusion.
"Wha--" She saw the piece of paper and read Camila's handwriting.
Text me later :) 664-420-6749
"Woah." She whispered with an impressed look and I cheekily smiled. "Good job!"
"I don't even know how I did it." I whispered and she started to snicker.
A Year Later
"Babe!" I whined as she snatched my phone from my hand. "Give me my phone back!"
"Nope. All I wanted was your attention but you didn't give it to me so I have to take away the distraction." She said, stuffing it in her shirt.
"How am I supposed to get it now?" I groan.
"Same way you did it last night." She smirked, immediately my cheeks becoming red. "You're just like how I met you the first time. Awkward and cute."
"Stop." I mumbled as she kissed my cheek a couple times. "Wait, why did you decide to talk to me?"
"Well..." She trailed as she sat up from the bed. "don't make fun of me."
"Come on, tell me." I said, sitting up from the bed as well and grabbed both of her hands.
"The first day I saw you, I didn't like how you and Allison were hitting it off so I wanted to talk to you. Unfortunately, she already sat next to you and that one dude took the other side." She explained and I raised my eyebrows.
"So you sat next to me because you got jealous?" I started to chuckle and she covered her face.
"Yeah. So I waited until it wasn't weird then I saw the spot was empty so I used that as my chance to sit next to you." She said but I leaned close to her, capturing her lips into mine.
She relaxed with a happy sigh then cupped my cheek with her hand. She pulled away but kept her forehead pressed against mine. She smiled and pecked my lips one more time before pulling away completely.
"I still can't believe you gave me your number that day. It would've took me awhile to ask you." I said and she giggled.
"Consider that as a push for you to make a move." She replied which made me roll my eyes playfully. "Now...come here." She pulled me to lay back down, bringing me into a kiss once more.
