A/N: Y/BF/N is your bestfriend name and italics are the thoughts.
Third Person POV:
Y/N and Camila had just finished their third date and the two had an amazing dinner that Y/N planned out for about a week. They both met, or should I say "Y/N spilled coffee on Camila", in a coffee shop but after a little bickering between the two on who's fault it was, they immediately hit it off. After getting to know each other more, Y/N gained the courage to ask her out and without hesitation, Camila said yes.
The pair had gone out several times with results of having a great time with each other, never having those awkward pauses, all that cliche stuff. However, there's a problem.
Camila and Y/N never kissed yet.
Y/N honestly had no clue on how to make their somewhat soon to be relationship start. Her friends had been bugging her to make a move but she didn't want to push it. One of her friends gave her an idea that in the end of the date, Y/N should drive her and Camila to a lookout point.
So that's where she was now.
"Is she doing what I think she's doing?" Camila thought, smiling to herself in an awe as the view from where they were was absolutely breathtaking.
Y/N however...
"What am I doing?" Y/N thought, mentally hyperventilating in her head.
"End of the date...parking at a romantic lookout point?" Camila thought to herself, looking at the small city lights and barely audible cars.
"I hope it's not to obvious that this is a make out point. Why did Y/BF/N trick me?" Y/N groaned in her thoughts, looking at the corner of her eye to see Camila's expression.
"This is totally a make out spot. Yes! It's about time." Camila cheered in her thoughts, blushing at the thought of Y/N choosing this specific spot.
"Okay maybe this was too aggressive. I should play it chill." Y/N thought to herself, trying to make a chill posture.
"We've been on three dates now, hurry up and make a move." Camila sighed in her thoughts.
"I think I can see my house from here." Y/N squinted, pointing at a random spot where the city was. This was basically an excuse to make it less awkward.
Camila gaze fell on her, "That's your move?" She thought.
"Cows are always up here grazing. So if you smell something, it's probably them." Y/N nervously smiled and Camila looked away.
"Oh dear god it's getting worse. Okay, she's probably nervous. Maybe I should let her know I'm comfortable." Camila thought, satisfied with her answer. Camila took off her seat belt and gave a small smile to Y/N.
"Oh my god...she unbuckled her seat belt and somehow made it hot. She's getting cozy, I can do that too." Y/N thought confidently and unbuckled her seat belt. "Just grab a seat lever to gradually re--cline!"
She accidentally leaned on her seat too much and reclined the seat all the way back, letting out a small yelp. Camila looked at her with concern and Y/N nervously laughed.
"I'm actually used to power seats. You know?" Y/N said but Camila tuned her out and got lost in her thoughts.
"Wait. Why am I waiting for her to show interest? I know what I want. I'll initiate...oh! How about some physical contact? It let's her know I'm ready." Camila smiled to herself and turned back to Y/N.
"For a second, I thought the North Star was turning to the South Star, but I realized it was just a plane." Y/N chuckled, recalling the memory.
Camila laughed along and casually punched Y/N on the shoulder.
"She should get the hint now." Camila thought.
In Y/N's thoughts, she screamed at how painful Camila punched. "Calm down Rhonda Rousey!" She whined in her thoughts.
"Oh no, how's my breath? I can't make it with bad breath." Camila's eyes widened, mentally panicking. "Okay, casually bring my hand to my mouth...Cough exhale sniff!"
Y/N widened her eyes. "Did she just yawn? Oh god she's bored. I'm boring? She probably thinks I brought her up here to talk about astrology." She thought and pinched the brink of her nose. "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"
"I just had to order garlic pasta tonight." Camila thought, groaning at her choice but then gasped in her head. "My emergency mints! Bless Ally for putting them in my bag. Now...to get them into my mouth."
Camila faked a cough, tossing the mint in her mouth.
"She's getting impatient." Y/N panicked. "Let's see what's on the radio." She reached over and turned it on.
"Radio? She doesn't want to talk? Maybe she's not interested anymore." Camila frowned.
"In aggregate the results suggested that European banks were in a healthier position than when the last exercise was conducted in autumn twenty-four." One of the radio public stations played out, making Camila feel uncomfortable.
"Public radio? She's too intellectual. I mean, Lauren has political talks with me but they're usually summed up! I don't know how I can contribute to this conversation." Camila thought.
"Okay, I know none of these words." Y/N had her eyes widened at the amount of academic vocabulary words were used. I mean, she had enough at school already.
"I actually heard this one last week and if you ask me, it's quite interesting." Y/N lied, trying to impress Camila. Y/N changed the station and dubstep blared through the speakers, scaring the both of them.
"Dubstep could be romantic right?" Y/N awkwardly smiled.
"This puts me in the mood...if I were a robot!" Camila groaned in her thoughts.
Thankfully to the both of them, Y/N changed the station again and Spanish song played making Y/N smile.
"Español...the language of love." She sighed happily, using her best accent. She looked at Camila again, raising her eyebrows repeatedly. Camila looked away.
"Mariachi? All right, I can't read this girl at all and I'm just hungry. Ooh...enchiladas." Camila smiled to herself, imagining herself eating a plate of her mom's enchiladas.
"Did she just lick her lips? It's a sign." Y/N smiled and turned to Camila again. She looked at Y/N with a confused expression.
"Why is she looking at me like that?" Camila asked herself.
"She gave the call and now it's time to answer! Yeah!" Y/N glanced at Camila's lips.
"Oh! She just did a quick lip glance! Is she going for it?" Camila panicked.
"I'm going for it." Y/N grinned to herself and slowly leaned in. "Holy crap."
"This is happening. Oh shoot. I still have the mint in my mouth!" Camila's eyes widened.
"Tilt right..." Y/N trailed, tilting her head to the right.
"She's going right." Camila tilted to the left, closing her eyes.
"Stay on target." Y/N nervously leaned more, shutting her eyes as well.
Camila and Y/N were close to finally having their first kiss until...
*BEEEEEEP!*
A car horn blared out loud, causing Camila and Y/N to jolt away from each other whilst Camila accidentally swallowed the mint in her mouth, coughing a few times. Y/N looked from where the noise came from and saw a car a few feet away from them.
A couple was in the middle of a heated make out session and the girl was on top of the guys lap. Y/N slowly looked away while Camila was trying to collect herself, clearing her throat since she choked on the mint.
"I swallowed my mint." Camila muttered in her thoughts and Y/N scoffed.
"I know gross, right?" Y/N pointed behind her and Camila noticed the couple's make out session.
"Y-Yeah, totally. Making out at a lookout point?" Camila scoffed, trying to be casual.
"So cliche." Y/N said and Camila nodded.
"Tell me about it." She said and Y/N looked down.
"Dammit." She whined in her thoughts but then looked at Camila again. "I'll take you home now."
"God dammit." Camila whined in her thoughts as well, not wanting the night to end. "Alright sure."
"I guess I'll just have to wait till the next chance." Camila and Y/N both thought to themselves, disappointed on how it ended.
"Whenever that is." Camila sighed in her thoughts. It was quiet between the two until Y/N spoke up.
"So...another date tomorrow?" She asked and Camila nodded with a grin.
"Yeah!" Camila said and Y/N turned on the engine, pulling away from the spot and drove Camila home.
