We're still at the party just hanging out. Ryder comes up to me doing this stupid dance. I can't help but laugh. He spins me around while tea cheers. "Can I talk to you?" Ryder asks me. "sure." I say.

I put down my drink and follow him. We go near the lake and sit on the bench. "You know I've been thinking about us lately." He starts. Seriously? These kinds of talks. "Look Ryder." "What I didn't finish. I want is to grow closer us best friends."

"Oh sure I would like that." "Yeah I rather be best friends then your boyfriend. We can do everything together except for a sleep over." I laugh. He reminds me of Luke. Just thinking about it makes me upset. "You ok?" He asks.

"Yeah you just remind me of Luke. He was my best friend he would take care of me and stuff he was like a big brother I never had." "What about Cameron ?" "This was way before Cameron ." He nods.

"Well maybe I could replace Luke one day." "Please don't say that." I say getting offensive. I don't care if Luke is in a stage right now he's still a brother to me I still care for him. "Sorry. I'm sorry. But I would like to be like a brother to you one day." I nod.

We stare at the lake watching the clouds reflect off the water. "I have to go get some ice from the bucket want to come with?" He asks. "Sure." I say getting up. We walk to the container where they keep the ice. He grabs some cups and fill them up.

I hear some giggling in the woods. "Ugh preps making out makes me sick." He mumbles. I laugh. "Tell them to go back to the party." He says still getting ice. "Ok." I leave and head towards the couple.

When I get closer i recognize the girl. Jenni. Ooo jenni got a man. "Hey jenni." I say. She turns and I see the guys face. My heart breaks. "Hayes?" I say in disbelief. "No wait!" He says. I tear up. "My best friend makes out with my boyfriend?" I start crying.

"Wait! Hazel please!" He says. I turn and run back. Ryder sees me and drops what he's doing. He runs to me engulfing me in a hug. "Hazel what's wrong?" He asks. "Ha... Hayes made out with my best friend." I say in between breaths.

"Shh come on let's go home." He says. We start walking home. I hear hayes telling from behind me. I knew he was a player. Why am I so stupid!?
