It was time for them to leave. The day was almost over and the night was setting in. Ray bid farewell to the girls and went on towards his home. He straightened the next part of his plan in his mind on the way.

Ray reaches home and goes inside. To his surprise, he sees that his father is in the kitchen and cooking something whose aroma has filled the house. The smell is tempting. Ray feels hungry all of a sudden.

"Oh you're home" Trifen says, "I thought I'd cook something delicious tonight."

"The smell tells me it's delicious." Ray answers, "It's aroused my hunger. I'm getting hungrier by the minute."

"Exactly. I'm almost done"

After a few minutes, the table is set and the dinner is ready. Trifen and his son begin to eat the chicken.

Trifen asks. "So how was school?

"Pretty good."

"I heard you switched schools"

"Yep. I think this one is better."

"Well, if you say so"

"I made a few friends as well."

"That's good"

"The course we're studying is really simple"

"You are very intelligent. I hope you succeed in life."

"Thanks........ dad."

"How's the food?"

"Oh this chicken is so juicy and tender"

"I used to make this when I was a young lad." Trifen replies "The taste hasn't changed much."

"Interesting." Ray answers, "So what are you working on these days?"

"Oh you know, I'm working on a super human serum."

"What does it do?"

"It enhances every ability of a person. Strength, intelligence and agility, you name it."

"Oh I see. How much is it done?"

"It's only a quarter path away from completion." Trifen replies "Once the next clinical test results appear, we'll be able to continue further."

"Next clinical results? You mean you've tested it before?"

"Well yes. But it was proved to be ineffective."

"Ineffective how?"

"The serum was proved to be to concentrated for the test subjects. The end result was that all of them lost their minds because of the extensive force put on their muscles and died a short while later."

"That's horrible. What happened this time around?"

"This time, the subjects were all pretty normal. They exhibited signs of the serum's successful application." Trifen adds "However, we are running various tests and the results will be here in a matter of days."

"Did the military put you on this project?"

"No. I volunteered myself."

"I hope it's a success."

Trifen picks up the dishes and washes them while Ray goes up to his room to sleep early but he is surprised by his father's strange behaviour.

The sun rises yet again and Ray heads towards his new school. He greets Kayla and Zandra in the class and starts studying.

"The school day is almost over. Just a few more agonizing minutes before I can go home" Kayla thinks to herself.

"Ughhhh this last class is always boring for me. Just end already" Zandra says in her mind.

Kayla and Zandra share their looks of boredom. Ray, on the other hand, seems neutral.

"I wonder how he can study this boring subject." Kayla thinks.

Suddenly, Ray feels lightheaded and requests to use the lavatory.

"There's only 5 minutes left until the bell rings. You can go then." the teacher replies

This was the exact opposite of what Ray wanted. He wouldn't last 5 minutes in this condition.

Those were the longest 5 minutes of his life. As soon as the bell rang, he left to save himself. Ray was able to reach and take out his syringe but all in vain, he fainted.

A considerable amount of time later, Kayla and Zandra were curious as to where their friend was.

"Kayla why don't you go check on him?"

"Me?! Why me?!"

"Because I'm feeling lazy."

"That has got to be the lamest excuse ever, Zandra"

"Whatever. Just go"

"Fine."

Kayla enters the building again and heads towards the restrooms. She enters the "Men's" room discreetly and sees that there's no one inside. Just as she's about to leave, Kayla notices what appears to be Ray's bag on one of the sinks. Now it's confirmed that Ray is here. She sees that a door is slightly open and there's something inside. Kayla looks carefully and sees that it's actually Ray.

Kayla is in shock. All of the moments of Ray unconscious in her backyard play in her mind. She somehow gets the power to reach forward and attempt to wake him.

"Ray! Wake up Ray!"

"K-Kayla" ray answers weakly.

"Oh my! Are you okay? What happened?!" Ray looks over to his syringe to signal Kayla

"What do you want me to do?!"

"I-Inject...... arm." Ray answers before passing out again.

Kayla picks up the syringe and unbuttons his sleeve. She finds a vein and puts the needle right inside before injecting the liquid.

Kayla has done what she was asked but there's no signs of Ray waking up. She begins to question what she just did. "Perhaps I injected the wrong vein?"

She moves his arm around to check but she sees something else.

She sees a mark which seems familiar to her on Ray's arm. It's the Noroi Mark.

"It can't be! I have the same mark!" Kayla is bewildered "Why does he have the same birthmark as me?!" are her running thoughts.

Ray wakes up and attempts to stand up. Kayla quickly covers his arm to hide what she was seeing.

"What is wrong with you? Why'd you faint?" Kayla asks as she steps out.

"I delayed my medication. That's why."

"What kind of medicine is that anyway?"

"It's for me."

"You scared me. I thought you were suffering because I hit you that day"

"That wasn't it."

"Come on. Hurry up. I want to go home already."

Kayla and Ray reach outside the gate where Zandra was waiting.

"Geez what took you so long?"

"I was a bit busy."

"I want to go home."

They take out their bikes and head to their homes. Kayla was using all her brain cells on thinking about the mark on Ray's arm as she rode her bike. "Why did it look so familiar?" she thought.

And then it hit her.
