Chapter Three

"Who's the bitch?"

"Pardon?" I asked as Giselle set her bag on the counter by me. "The kids are just in the living room, watch your language." I scolded and she walked up to me.

"The girl you subtweeted?"

"No one that's important enough for you to get your panties in a bunch." I promised as she crossed her arms under her chest.

"Um, wrong answer." She told me and I leaned against the counter, amused at her behavior. "I want names. I want numbers. I want her Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. Connor, I want address so I can fight her-"

"We don't all get what we want." I reminded and she rolled her eyes, not at all amused or joking. "Baby calm down, I'm your's and only yours. Everyone knows that. No other girl is ever gonna take your place, I swear on all that I own and all that I am."

Her lips pulled into a small smile, then to a large grin as she leaned forward. I set my hands on her waist as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "I actually love you more than anything and everyone in the world." She told me and I chuckled softly.

"I love you too, babygirl, and no other girl is gonna change that." I assured her and she gave me a quick, soft kiss on the lips.

"I'm sorry I'm crazy," she apologized and I shrugged. "It's just... yu're just one in a million and all these girls are trying to come at you. I'm just scared I'm gonna lose you to one of em'. They can sing and dance and act, but all I do is stand in front of a camera for a living."

"Giselle, we've been together since we were sixteen, we are now twenty-one. If that doesn't already convince you that I'm down for only you, remember that we have two beautiful kids like four feet away." I told her as I gently lifted her chin up, catching her eyes in a gaze. "Literally no other girl can ever take your place in my heart. You're more than just a pretty face behind the camera to me, you're the mother of my children, my best friend, and the love of my life."

She gave me a hug, her face burying into my neck, and I rubbed her back as I kissed her heaf. "Go get changed princess, I know those heels are killing your feet. Dinner will be done in twenty minutes." I told her and she nodded as I kissed her cheek.

"You're the absolute best. What did I do to deserve you?" She asked and I shook my head.

"You were just being your incredibly dorky, but cute self, inside of my English class." I said and she rolled her eyes as she picked her purse up. I turned around after she left and then turned the oven off since the food should be done.

"Daddy! Nani hit me!" Kaleb yelled and I took a deep breath.

"I did not!" She shouted and I took a deep breath. "He's lying daddy!"

The doorbell rang and I ran a had through my hair as I went to answer it. "If you don't wanna get along, then you both know what I told you. Get away from each other and leave each other alone." I shouted as I opened the door.

"Hey, sorry, I uh... kids." I said and the guy laughed quietly, agreeing with me. "How can I help you?" I asked and he cleared his throat, an Australian accent lacing his words.

"This is kind of awkward and weird, but I'm looking for a Connor Ryan Keller? I heard he stays here?" The dude dressed in all black with a grey beanie asked and I laughed.

"If you want an autograph, just ask. I'm quite busy, sir." I told him as I patted my sides down for a marker.

"I'm not a fan. I'm family." He told me and then went to take his glasses off, but stopped when he looked behind me. I narrowed my eyes at him and he kept his glasses on as I heard footsteps against the wooden floors.

"Daddy!"

"Listen-"

"Daddy?" I heard Nani ask and I turned around. "There's two of you?" She asked and I looked at the dude outside the door, who stood awkwardly.

"There's only one of daddy, and that's me." I told her and she made grabby hands towards me. I sighed and then picked her up as she looked at the guy with a confused expression.

She reached for him and before I could stop her, she shook her head. "Not daddy. He doesn't have those." She pointed at the tattoos on his hand and he laughed.

"No, you're right, I'm not. Can I uh, come in and talk to you, Connor?"

"I don't think so." I told him as I sat Nani down. "Go watch TV with your brother, I'll be there in a minute sweetie."

She nodded and ran to the living room. I closed the door as I stepped outside and I stood in front of him. "Look dude, if you're a fan, I'm so grateful for your support, but this is my home. You can't just... you can't just come here asking if you can come in.

"I'm not a fan. I mean, I saw a few of your videos but that's it. That's beside the point. I'm... my name's Calum and I'm here because I needed to give you this." He said and held a paper out as he took his sunglasses off.

I narrowed my eyes and him and then took the paper, opening it up slowly. "In case you don't believe me when I say, you could be the twin brother I've been looking high and low for." He told me as he shoved his hands in his pockets.

"I was an only child. My mom and dad never had any other kids." I told him as I looked at the paper in my hands. "Your last name is Hood?"

"Yeah-"

"As in Calum Hood? That dude from that one band?" I asked and he nodded. "Michael's friend?"

"Yes, I am that dude from that one band who put out that one song, and yes, Michael is in that band." He nodded as I continued looking over the paper. "That's a copy of your birth certificate. My mum gave it to me."

"Stay here." I told him and he nodded as he kicked his shoes at the floor. I walked inside my house and then ran upstairs, opening a small closet in the hallway.

I pulled an envelope from a shelf and then opened it up, looking through the papers. I picked my birth certificate up and then held the two up against one another. I stared between them as I walked downstairs, heading towards the door.

"Connor! I smell burning food!" Giselle yelled from the bedroom and I rushed to the kitchen, stirring the mixed vegetables before turning the stove off.

"Thanks babe!" I shouted back at her and then went outside to the front porch. "Hey, listen, I don't know what kind of prank this is, but my birth certificate is completely different." I told Calum as I showed him the one my mom gave me.

"What? No, it can't be. You have to be him." He stammered as he took them both, looking between them. "We literally look identical."

"They say there's seven people in the world who will look exactly like you." I spoke as I put my hands in my pocket. "I'm sorry man. First name coincidence, I guess."

"Mum told me she gave up my twin brother for adoption, and the family moved to America." He said and I shrugged. "I've spent months-"

"Hey, I'll help you look for him if you'd like. I know plenty of people if you want to find your brother." I told him and he looked at me.

"This doesn't make sense..." He trailed off and I shrugged. "Maybe your parents changed it after they adopted you?" He asked and I rose my hands up in defense as I laughed.

"Look, if this means that much to you man, we can do some kind of DNA thing. But I don't think we're related. It's probably just a coincidence." I told him and he agreed to the DNA test. "I'm free tomorrow. All I do is take my kids to school. We can go in and get a sample."

"I promise I'm not weird. I'm so positive that it's you." He told me and I nodded.

"Hey, if it comes out positive, it'd be great, we'll catch up and hang out. If it comes out negative, we can forget this all and hang out as friends." I said and he agreed to that. "Do you still want to come in?"

"No uh, I promised my friend I'd hang out with her. She's expecting me so uh, guess I'll see you tomorrow." He told me and I'll nodded. I held a hand out and he took it, shaking it even though I was going to go in for a hug.

"Oh uh-"

"Fine. It's fine. I'll see you tomorrow. Drive safe, streets get crazy at night." I told him as I opened the door.

"Will do, thanks Connor." He said and smiled at me. "Have a nice night." He told me as he handed me back my birth certificate.

"You too Mr. Hood." I told him and then went inside after putting it inside of my pocket. "Fucking weird." I muttered as I went to the kitchen.

"I made the kids a plate, yours is in my hands right now." Gi told me and I thanked her. "Who was as the door?"

"Josaline, she wanted to remind me of a studio session tomorrow since I left as soon as it was mentioned." I lied and she nodded.

"I don't like her."

"She's... alright. I wouldn't call us best friends though, we just work together." I told her and she nodded. "Thank you beautiful."

"You're welcome baby." She smiled as I took my plate from her hands. "Tomorrow I have a wedding dress set to do, so I'm going to be extra long at the studio. Three makeup and hair that goes with them is insane."

"I'm sure you'll look beautiful." I told her and she shrugged. "Maybe one day, you'll be going shopping for fora wedding dress instead of just modelling them."

She widened her eyes and I laughed. "One day, but not today. Come on. Let's go eat dinner." I told her and she nodded.
