Rain
You're sitting outside on the steps up to your front door, you can hear the rain on the roof and a few droplets find their way down to drip onto you.
The droplets are calm and cold enough to relax your tense body slightly.
You shuffle down a step and let it rain down onto your face, breathing in the cooler air and letting calm take over. You take a deep breath and feel the raindrops rolling off your shoulders and racing down your face.
It's a spring shower so you know that staying out here won't cause you to catch a cold.
At this point, your clothes are soaked though they're cold and the coolness of your shirt makes it less of a burden to carry.
You take off your shoes and tip the water that has gathered out of them. After putting your shoes back on you walk into the middle of the garden and stand there just letting the rain pour down on you. Occasionally you open your mouth and catch raindrops as they fall, the cold grounding you in reality.
There's no-one to disturb you as you stand in your secret little haven with water dripping off of you.
Occasionally someone passes by with an umbrella or a little kid tries to run out into the rain only to be scooped up and taken back inside by their mother both of them laughing. But no-one looks at you and you get to have this little bit of rain all to yourself.
You laugh into the rain, maybe challenging the rain or maybe your in a childlike state enthralled by its beauty. Whether a little giggle or a full belly laugh, you're embracing the rain and telling it to come back soon.
Apologising for all those times you say 'rain, rain, go away'. You're chosing to revel in the rain and recognise it's true beauty.
You take one last deep breath, bringing in the calming scent of fresh rain before stepping inside.
