Soulmate (Rocket-Marvel)
This chapter isn't really with rocket yet, sorry I had a good idea for a backstory. Also slight spoiler for Vol. 3

In the entirety of the galaxy, the little ferret was not very special. Yet. She was running through the streets, away from the loud noises that distressed her. She dodged between people's legs, and eventually settled in an alleyway. A few noises from behind her startled her and she turned swiftly to see rats rummaging in the garbage. She huffed, letting out air through her nose until a loud crash was heard. The oozing yellow liquid was pouring out from a small canister. She inched closer, her nose twitching as she sniffed at the substance. She pulled back as one of her paws touched it and began sniffing again. A few teenagers were walking past and caught sight of the situation. They were loud, laughing and pointing at the distressed creature. They roughly picked her up and dropped her in the liquid carelessly.
"Hey!" A small voice sounded. The small ferret looked up and saw a small boy. He had a black eye, and a few small cuts on his legs and arms. His voice was shaky. "L-leave it alone!" He shouted. The teenagers snickered and walked closer to him. The ferret grew frustrated as it tried to pick itself up. It watched as the boy was pushed to the ground easily. The small creature jumped onto one of the boys, causing him to scream. He threw her against the wall and she fell, cuddling around her now injured paw. Moments later the little boy came over, towel in hand.
"Hey, it's alright...I won't hurt you. I can help you." He spoke gently, and the small ferret felt the urge to trust him. She reached her head out slightly and he wrapped the towel around her gently, carrying her in his arms. She fell asleep as he walked.
?? POV:
I woke up in a strange place. I rolled over and saw the little boy. He had a shocked look on his face as he looked at me. I stood up. Wait, stood up? I looked down and saw I was on my hind legs, but it felt natural, perfectly normal. I touched my face with my unwrapped paw. The other one was in a mini makeshift sling. How did I know it was a sling?
"H-hallo." A small voice squeaked and I realized it was from me. I tried again. "Hello." I said quietly. The boy gasped softly and scooped me up into his arms.
"I'm Peter Quill. Oh what should I name you little bug?" He asked, a smile on his face as he thought of names. "How about Nina?" I shook my head. "Sammy?" I stuck my tongue out and made a face. He laughed at my reaction. "Oh! I know, how about Y/n?" He asked excitedly. I nodded, a smile making its way onto my face. (Sorry if your name is one that I used, you can change them)
We went everywhere for the next little bit, and I was there the day his mom died, sitting on his shoulder sadly. She had been the only one excited to see me, though I never spoke in front of anyone other than Peter occasionally. Moments later I was sat on his shoulder blinded by a bright light that seemed to be sucking us up into a big container.
That was the day it all changed. I got a new family. I got new friends. And that was the day I got a soulmate.
