Rocket's POV:

I was in the cage with Floor playing a game and suddenly something popped up above my head. It was some sorta clock? Lila had a smile on her face while me, Teefs, and Floor looked confused. I tried swatting at it, but my paw just went right through it. I looked at Lila who was still smiling.

"I've heard people talking about that. It appears when the universe finds your soulmate. It looks like you have one! The timer will run out when you meet your soulmate, and will burst into colors when you first touch your soulmate." She said excitedly. Rocket still looked slightly confused but decided it was just something he could ignore.

3rd person pov:
After Rocket escaped, his friends being gone forever, he decided he never wanted to meet his soulmate and worried for the day he did.

Y/n on the other hand, loved watching the clock tick down, getting closer to when she would meet her soulmate. She was currently with Peter on the ship when he said he was going to give the orb to the broker. Bored, y/n just decided to stay on the ship until a loud commotion was heard. Peter was of course fighting someone. Y/n had ran out to help and saw him running away from a raccoon. She heard him mumbling under his breath.

"I live for the simple things in life, like how much this is gonna hurt." God damn his voice sounds hot. She shook of her thoughts as she snickered as peter fell to the ground in pain. Then she realized she actually needed to help him so she ran over and attempted to jump onto his shoulder as he stood up but got caught in a ray from the nova corp. She growled under her breath.

*Time skip*

"Species is a Ferret, from Earth. Called Y/n. Travels with Peter Quill. Threat Level: Moderate." Y/n glared daggers into anyone who stared at her. They were all transferred to the Kyln, and not once had she looked at anyone of the others with her. Not until after they had been given clothes and Y/n was getting changed. The raccoon known as Rocket had walked in and she had quickly put her shirt back on. When she looked up she saw there were mere seconds left on her timer. As she turned around, Rocket had seen it too and turned just as she did. They made eye contact and the timer went out. Y/n went to go closer to him but he only scowled and followed after the others. She was shocked and quite angry. She scampered off to god knows where, sulking alone.

*Time skip*

Y/n had ran into a man named Drax the destroyer, and he kept her company. The two stayed together until the middle of the night when Drax went to attempt to kill Gamora. Y/n simply watched, leaning against the wall. She noticed Rocket hiding, watching as Peter tried to convince Drax to not kill Gamora. I noticed that Rocket had seen me and waved me over. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. He motioned again and I face palmed before following behind him.

"Look uh idk how to say it but I'm sorry. I didn't mean to act like that. I'm not used to having close friends or anything like that." He scratched his head nervously. Y/n's scowl turned into a little smirk as she walked closer to him. "W-what are you doin?" He asked looking at the Ferret who had a smirk on her face.

"Just this." She spoke as his back hit the wall behind him. She was now pressed against him, their chests touching. He smirked back at her as he put his paws on her waist and pulled her in all the way. She giggled as she looked up at him. Thousands of colors burst around the two. Y/n heard the others coming and leaned in closer to Rocket, to the point he could feel her gentle breaths against his lips.

"Until next time, Rocket~" She said and pulled away quickly, scampering to Drax after waving to Peter.

Rocket for the first time, was speechless.
